@hergreenapples: 2 lasagnas and choco cookies? You're incredible! I pat myself on the back if I can make a bowl of instant ramen . Need to try some new slow cooker recipies! I have an awesome Asian short rib one to share

@blackbird: So glad you're feeling better, my dear!

@AprilFool: Looove the tiny baby bump!

@sslm: hope the MS gets better soon, lady!

9 weeks today!!! I've been wearing my psi bands to bed and feeling MUCH better (less nauseous) in the morning. But I also am feeling soooo bloaty everywhere. At least that's motivation to keep working out

    can't wait for 10 weeks!

@sslm: I hope you start to feel better soon. Sorry you've been feeling so crappy

@Jaguar: I found the bloat was probably at its worst around 8/9 weeks. I'm 10 weeks now and it's started to ease up a bit. When I suck everything in I can see a teeny tiny bump starting to form I got the Bella Band yesterday, but am wearing a dress today, so didn't need to wear it.

@sylvie_b: I figured our friends were probably even more exhausted than me given that they have a newborn and were shocked at his early arrival I baked the cookies for my nephew who just started university in the city in which we live. I thought maybe they'd help him make friends in his dorm..hahahahaha! But yes, I was so dead tired afterwards I could barely function.

I am happy to report that I've had two good sleeps in a row. For most of the first tri I've been experiencing some nasty sleep issues, which mostly involved waking up between 10 and 20 times a night and, obviously, not feeling well-rested in the morning as a result. Last time I went to see my naturopath, she recommended a homeopathic sleep remedy that's safe to use during pregnancy. I finally gave in and picked some up on Monday and it truly has helped...thank goodness!

@sylvie_b: I have to try the psi bands. I'm at 11 weeks and I still have mild nausea especially at night!

I'm due for my 11 week NT scan this afternoon, hope all goes well!

@hergreenapples: Yes! The bloat is huge. I took a pic last night (of my regular bloaty belly, but still, shapes are a-changing a bit!) and I'm going to do one weekly now, to see how things do change.

I'm sad, because a friend who used my OB says he doesn't have an ultrasound machine in his office. Gutted! It was one of the few things I assumed he'd have, so didn't ask... but I'll be bummed if I don't get to see Baby Jag for months at a time.

@jaguar: bummer! In Canada they don't either. We won't see baby again until 20 weeks unless there's a problem!!

Hello ladies! i have an 11 week scan tomorrow. So excited! If everything looks well (i'm sooo close to when i first m/c, definitely getting nervous), we're going to tell all the fam! I don't think it'll go on FB until the anatomy scan, though.

I feel like so many of my symptoms are going away. I feel pretty darn good! Hoping that's a good thing. So much tightness in my stomach! if i move and bend too quickly, i get a sharpness reminder to slow down.

@blackbird: Good luck tomorrow - I hope bub is doing BEAUTIFULLY. I get that sharp pang if I get up/sit down too quickly. Good to know it's not just me!

I had my 11 week ultrasound yesterday, and I have to say it was the most anxiety-provoking experience ever! Perhaps it was because my ultrasound tech was very quiet and I only spent 2-3 minutes with my doctor, who barely discussed about the ultrasound. The doctor says she'll call me in a week for the comprehensive NT/blood work results. I felt so disappointed after the visit, but perhaps I'm just worrying too much about nothing. Sigh. I guess I'll have to wait until next week..

  11. blackbird

    wonderful grape / 20453 posts

@serendipity, I don't think the techs are allowed to make diagnostic comments, though. And NT scans are read by specialists, from what I understand. It wouldn't be allowable for her to comment on the scan she's taking.

Don't worry! It sounds like standard medical procedure to me.

    cherry / 147 posts

@blackbird: Yeah... I've read other NT scan experiences and it's so reassuring to hear some good news about the NT thickness from the doctor! The anatomy of the baby look pretty good, she kept taking photos of the baby's foot, which was very amusing!

Hi everyone! Hope all is well, I've been trying to take some space in order to stop analyzing everything. I've been feeling a bit better overall, I think- just less of the exhaustion, really. Still no morning sickness, just some low-level nausea every afternoon. My only real complaint is that I've been having a lot of GI distress (I have some issues with this pre-pregnancy, so I figured it would just get worse). I basically get constipated for a few days, followed by a day of...the opposite problem (sorry, TMI).

This week has been a pretty difficult one for me emotionally (pretty awful stuff at work, & my cat is very sick / probably will need to be put down soon). Tomorrow is our first appointment and ultrasound. I have been crying so much about other stuff this week that I feel totally emotionally drained & numb about the appointment tomorrow.

I feel like I'm always negative when I post on these boards. I'm actually incredibly happy overall right now, and so far (knock on wood), I haven't had any symptoms that are too uncomfortable / unbearable.

And to try to end with some gratitude rather than all my negativity: I'm grateful for the joy my cat has brought to our lives while he has been with us, I'm grateful for harvest season & soups made with all local vegetables, I'm grateful for the leaves turning & fall coming (my favorite season), I'm grateful for tacos & seltzer water mixed with grapefruit juice! And BAGELS!

Hope everyone is doing well this week, & thanks for the ongoing support

@blackbird: So glad everything went well. Sad to hear you're leaving us April ladies though

@mountainmama: YAY! So happy for you. Wish you all the best with your kitty as well. As a fellow cat lady, I know how much they really become a part of your family.

Just wanted to check in and wish all the April ladies a great weekend. We are off to visit my dad and stepmum for the weekend and we're finally going to share the news with them. SO excited..my dad is totally going to cry

Speaking of crying, last night we ordered in sushi (shrimp tempura roll and soft shell crab tempura roll for me...nothing raw) and watched What to Expect When You're Expecting (DH's idea...too cute!). It is a comedy, yet somehow I managed to cry FIVE times through the movie. Thank you, hormones!

@hergreenapples: I watched this movie after our first cycle had failed, and was a wreck. Bawled like a baby when J.Lo adopted her baby. BAWLED.

Is it too late for me to poke my head in and join? I just discovered this thread and have been enjoying reading about all the babes on the way.

    As for me:

    EDD: April 3

    How far along?: 11w,6d

How long TTC: First cycle (big eye roll, seeing as it took us almost a year with our first)

First child?: No - we have a 19mo daughter

Any feeling about boy/girl: I hope it's a girl so I don't have to buy a bunch of new stuff. I am truly horrible.

First doctor's appointment: at 8 weeks - saw one babe and a tiny little heartbeat

How do you feel?/Symptoms so far: Boat-rocking, all-day sickness from week 5 to about week 10, and then it finally started to wane. I'm not a barfer, but I felt absolutely wretched about 95% of the time. The other 5% of the time I was eating guacamole and Cheetos (not together, thankfully). Other symptoms: wicked sense of smell, sore boobs, general crabbiness.

Who have you told? Pretty much everyone important who sees me on a regular basis knows or has figured it out, because I started showing so early this time around. We haven't told extended family yet, though. We'll do that after our 13-wk ultrasound (genetic testing) a week from tomorrow.

    Congratulations to all the mamas!

9 weeks, 1 day today. So close to 10, I'm counting down to double digits!!

    pomegranate / 3895 posts

@Boots McGee: Welcome! Glad to hear your m/s has subsided

@jaguar: Yay for almost double digits! Every week feels like such a milestone

AFM, I'm 11 weeks today. 12 weeks is within my reach, I just wish it would hurry up and get here. I have my first u/s next Monday at 11w6d (NT scan) and I am positively terrified. I worked myself into a downright panic over it last night. Starting to calm down a bit today. It didn't help that I learned that in my city spouses aren't allowed in for the u/s until the last five minutes, and they aren't allowed in at all if they find something wrong with the baby. I feel like I could handle it if DH was there with me, but without him I'm going to be completely terrified. I feel like the first couple minutes of the u/s will be the most nerve wracking minutes of my whole life.

How's everyone feeling? I'm still exhausted beyond words, but my nausea seems to be gone entirely (really only had steady m/s for weeks 7 and 8...I hope that isn't a bad sign). Boobs are still giant, and tender, but less sore than previously (I read this is normal at the end of the first tri). Oh, and the acne is RAGING Other than that, I feel pretty normal.

We went to the dr today and confirmed our little peanut is due April 27th! We are 8 weeks 4 days!! Heart beat was 173 and the most beautiful sound!
I have to have a 24hour urine test to see if we have any protein in there due to Preclampsia, also have to do a 2hr Glucose already on top of all the normal prenatal bloodwork. So it'll be a busy week at the lab for me lol

    Here is a picture!!

@hergreenapples: Honestly, don't stress too much. I've never had the NT test/ultrasound done with my other pregnancies and all was just fine.
I may not do it for this one either to be honest with you.
Try to relax and enjoy this time!!

How about another round up ladies??

    EDD: April 9

    How far along?: 11w,1d

How long TTC: Started trying in January, got pregnant right away but mc'd at 8 weeks. Got lucky on our second cycle after AF returned!

    First child?: Yes!!

Any feeling about boy/girl: At first really thought girl, now I am not sure!! Don't have a preference though. One healthy baby please

Doctor's appointments: Went to the midwife at 7 weeks, had u/s showing one healthy baby at 8 week, just went in for another appointment at 11 weeks and heard the HB via the doppler!!!

How do you feel?/Symptoms so far: Awful sickness, I just got a prescription for diclectin (it's a Canadian thing), some headaches, and bloating.

Who have you told? Our parents, DH's best friend, my best friend, and our siblings. Oh and I told my boss so he would know why I need so many sick days. We might start telling more people now that we have heard the heartbeat

    @sslm:
    EDD: April 27th

    How far along?: 8 wk.5d,

    How long TTC: 6 months

First child?: Nope third. First for DH though.

Any feeling about boy/girl: We are saying boy.

Doctor's appointments: Went for an emergency visit between 4 and 5 weeks because I started spotting. Had blood work for level checks and an ultrasound. That one only showed the sac. Went yesterday for the follow up ultrasound and saw our perfect little blurb! And heard and saw the heart beat!! Go back at 12w5d for my next appt.

How do you feel?/Symptoms so far: Awful sickness, just filled my rx and haven't thrown up since yesterday afternoon *fingers crossed*

Who have you told? Anyone who knows us has known pretty much since I peed on those sticks.

EDD: LMP April 26 but May 2 based on ultrasound measurements. Baby will be delivered by a scheduled C-section.

Any feeling about boy/girl: no idea!

Doctor's appointments: Heard the heartbeat at our first OB appointment on Monday!

How do you feel?/Symptoms so far: I get nauseous and tired easily.

Who have you told? Our families and and a handful of friends!

    EDD: April 9

    How far along?: 11w2d

    How long TTC: 2 months

    First child?: Yes!!

Any feeling about boy/girl: No idea. My dad says he has a strong gut instinct that it's a girl. We did the ring test when visiting my parents last week and it said girl too. I have no preference.

Doctor's appointments: Have had two appointments so far (at 4w and 8w) and I have another one next week at 12w. I'm FINALLY having my first u/s on Monday, which will be 11w6d. Where I live, u/s aren't done in the doctor's office, but at a separate clinic. The report is then sent to your doctor.

How do you feel?/Symptoms so far: Tired, tired, tired. Boobs are sore, but off and on. Nausea has been back last night and today. I also have a cold right now and it's really sucky not being able to take any medication - meant I didn't really sleep at all last night.

Who have you told? Our parents. Most of our close friends. Haven't told DH's siblings, nieces and nephews (DH is the youngest of 4 and all his siblings already have multiple children) or my boss or colleagues. Will probably tell work after the u/s next week (provided all goes well...so nervous) and we're planning to tell DH's family at Thanksgiving (Canadian Thanksgiving is the weekend of October 6).
