Today is V-day for me....24 weeks! I can't believe the 3rd trimester is around the corner.
@AprilFool: Love your bump! I will have to do your check in later today!
cantaloupe / 6017 posts
@AprilFool: You look great! Sounds like a fun trip!
How far along: 25 weeks 5 days (according to LMP- according to ovulation date/growth I'm a little behind that)
Sex: no idea
Stretch marks: none yet
Belly Button: shallow innie- the middle part of it sort of pokes out a bit
Sleep: I've been doing okay in this area. I wake up once or twice a night. I'm using a snoogle-pillow and that helps a lot...without it my hips hurt and keep me awake. Last night was a horrible night of sleep, but that was about work stress.
Movement: Lots! Seems to be particularly active in the mornings. Two mornings ago it was painful and I had to change positions to make it stop!
Cravings: I just want bar food all the time- like sweet potato fries, wings, nachos, etc. I'm also really in to oranges and orange juice lately.
Name: Theodora (Thea) or Alden
What I'm looking forward to: I feel so impatient to meet the baby! But other things to look forward to are the baby showers, things winding down at work (as I get closer to my due date I won't be getting any new clients, so things will become a lot less stressful), and on March 15th we will find out where my husband's residency will be (and if we have to move with a 4-week old).
What I miss: double IPAs and dirty martinis. I've had a bad week at work- what can I say?
Emotions: I've been feeling a little better about my emotion management- I feel more in control, which is important for me. But I have felt kind of "down" lately, and find myself worrying a lot. I've scheduled a therapy session for next week with a new therapist, and I'm hopeful that will help. I think I"m just struggling with all these adjustments!
Shower: My mother in law is hosting one on February 23rd, and a co-worker just told me she is organizing a work shower- but I'm not sure when that one will be.

@jaguar: I had some light ones from my teenage years, but they aren't really noticeable. Unfortunately, I think these may stay around for a bit longer. It's inspiring me to take a quick bare belly shot before they take over the easily visible areas.
My update:
How far along: 28 weeks, people!
Gender: Boy & Boy
Stretch marks: Like I mentioned the other day, unfortunately I have just discovered a few small ones on the underside of my tummy and kind of on the side of my hips.
Belly Button: A shallow innie. I have always had the deepest belly button imaginable, so I've been wandering if it will ever pop. I think in the next few weeks it will succumb.
Sleep: Not great. My stomach is at the point of largeness now, where I can't get comfy even with my plethora of pregnancy pillows. I've been sleeping extra restlessly the last few days, too.
Movement: It's weird for me. Sometimes I will feel both of them a few times a day, but generally one baby will be a lot more active, and I won't feel the other one at all. After a day or two when I start freaking out, they'll switch and the other one will be more active. I think at this point they just don't really have that much room because the last few days I've felt very little movement from either.
Cravings: Nothing that I would call a real craving, but my sweet tooth has been more prominent the last month.
Name: We cannot decide! They may stay Baby A & Baby B. We had names we were pretty sure about (Elliot & Oliver) and then everyone's reactions to Oliver made us hesitate. No one said anything bad about it, but all our family just seemed kind of blah about it. I kind of wish we wouldn't have said anything at all to our families because once the babies are here they would get used to it. We'll see whether we end up using that or choosing something else. I kind of feel like I need to actually see the babies before I can really name them.
What I'm looking forward to: Not being pregnant anymore! I wanted this for so long, but I'm just really ready to have my body be my own again, to not hurt all the time, and most importantly to having my boys in my arms! Other than that, I'm super excited to get the nursery done and feel like we are "ready."
What I miss: Wine, sushi, & not being constantly afraid that something is wrong.
Emotions: See my vent from a week ago. Sigh. I'm a little better this week, but still just really emotionally exhausted. I'm just so tired of worrying all the time. I know the boys need to stay in longer, but knowing they are constantly at risk and I wouldn't even be able to tell right away is just making me more fragile than normal. I want them out (at a safe and healthy time) where I can see that they are okay!
Shower: We are having a small one this weekend with local friends, which I'm super excited about. Then the people from work will be doing one in the next month or so. My doctor nixed traveling further than 2 hours, so I can't travel back to Dallas where my bigger shower was supposed to be. My friends there are determined to figure out some way to do something, though, which is sweet of them. I'm kind of hoping they will just all come visit after the babies are born instead!

@jaguar - i'm so envious of your chair! that looks seriously COMFY. i don't think we're going to have room for one in our apt. my girlfriend recommended a fitness ball (which kinda takes up a lot of room too!).
@mrsblue - you're so cute with your "sad face". i don't have any yet (from pregnancy) but SO many from my teen years, all over my body. our bodies are going through a war to have these babies!
@aprilfool - love your bump! and how lovely that you had a 3-week babymoon! wow - where did you guys go? i'm hoping we can squeeze in a weekend getaway before the baby comes.
Here's my update:
How far along: almost 25 weeks
Gender: Girl
Stretch marks: No new ones yet. Lubing up after every shower (bio oil on tummy and lotion on body)
Belly Button: Still innie
Sleep: Knock on wood, going great. My lower back aches when I wake up but can't really complain.
Movement: Sometimes she's so busy moving around!! Kind of distracting. This has put my intestines into overdrive and lots of trips to the bathroom (TMI?? )
Cravings: Carby things, fruit, water. Although I had a kale salad today that was SO delicious.
Name: Need to work on this with DH.
What I'm looking forward to: Meeting her! Getting the baby gear bought/ready. Seeing my girlfriends for the baby shower. And not having to go to the office for a few months.
What I miss: Booze (cocktails & wine esp), sushi, eating cheese without worrying about pasteurization, tummy sleeping, tying shoelaces without having my tummy in the way
Emotions: Has been pretty ok lately. First 3 months was pretty bad, and I was kind of a bitch to DH. Feel much better nowadays although it's finally starting to feel real, which is a little scary!
Shower: This will be in late Feb. I feel a little awkward but want to ask if they need any of my input? (doesn't need to be fancy, do they need help with a guestlist, etc.)

@AprilFool: You look wonderful!
@autumnlove: Huzzah for 24 weeks lady!
@Silva: I love your name choices- so pretty. Your bub is active in the morning; mine is at night! Uh oh!
@Mrs. Blue: I LOVE Elliott and Oliver. What did people say about O?
@nycbee: I love the idea of a fitness ball in the room too.

How far along: 25 weeks + 4 days
Gender: Girl
Stretch marks: Everywhere. I'm a stripy mess!
Belly Button: Innie & doesn't look like it's going anywhere.
Sleep: Getting better, except for the back aches.
Movement: Some days are full on, some days I don't feel much at all. OB says this is normal, but to expect more as baby continues getting bigger.
Cravings: Mostly salty and sweet this week. The opposites are calling me!
Name: We're pretty set on our little girl's name... I'll give you a clue; it starts with G.
What I'm looking forward to: APRIL. Omgosh, I want to meet this baby like you would not believe. But in closer terms, I have an ultrasound on Monday (26 weeks) that I can't wait for.
What I miss: Sleeping on my belly.
Emotions: I've been a lot more emotional than normal. Nothing super crazy, but just a little unpredictable.
Shower: My mum is having something small and low-key at her place, mid-Feb.
blogger / pomelo / 5361 posts
@jaguar: No one has said any blatantly negative comments, it's just that they're like, "Oh, Oliver. Umm . . . that's nice." I think I've decided I don't care. I did briefly wander if DH and I were cool enough to have a child named Oliver; I mean, it would really help if I had your accent or an English accent. Then, we could definitely pull off Oliver.
In other news . . . I had an u/s this morning, and much to my chagrin, my suspicions were confirmed and both my babies have flipped around. That means that Baby A is breech and Baby B is head down. The only way they will let me try for a regular delivery is if Baby A is head down, so I'm pretty bummed. He's been head down my entire pregnancy, and then they both just up and switched on me. I'm still hoping he'll turn again, but I am trying to also adjust to the idea that I may not have an option on getting a c-section. Sad face.

How far along: 24 weeks, 1 day
Gender: Girl
Stretch marks: I have them on my belly from my last pregnancy, I don't see any new ones yet.
Belly Button: A super shallow innie but it pops out every few days!
Sleep: Not great. I have a cold right now and it really sucks!
Movement: She is very active!
Cravings: Nothing in particular
Name: We like Olivia!
What I'm looking forward to: Moving into our house and nesting! Finishing work!
What I miss: Sleeping on my stomach. Eating carbs...I have GD.
Emotions: They are good!
Shower: I don't want a baby shower but my friend wants to throw a lunch...I'm not sure about it! I don't need anything but I would love to celebrate with friends!

@mrs blue, booooo c-section. They will come out safe and sound, though. BTW, i LOVE the name Oliver. It was on my list, but DH didn't like it. But I do and I think it's a classic boys' name and you can't go wrong I also love Elliott (also a named I floated to him, but got vetoed because we watch a lot of Law and Order and he said all he thought of was Chris Meloni, LOL, or Elliott Reed on Scrubs)
How far along: 29 weeks!
Gender: Girl
Stretch marks: None that I can see! Mom never got them, so we'll see!
Belly Button: Shallow innie with a protruding lip on the bottom
Sleep: The last two nights--awful! But usually I only get up once a night. I think I'm just anxious and my mind is reeling because I wake up thinking about stuff and then can't go back to sleep
Movement: Active at certain intervals. It's cool that it's so predictable. I'm supposed to count them now.
Cravings: None. I haven't had cravings, honestly. But i'm susceptible to people's suggestions. Then I go, "oh that sounds good". But I don't run out to get it
Name: We're naming her Ella. Middle name TBD
What I'm looking forward to: Starting her wall quilt, putting all her washed clothes away, etc. Just feeling "ready". Oh and another ultrasound in a month!
What I miss: Umm...not having heartburn. But otherwise, I'm doing ok! I can't wait to have a real drink, though!
Emotions: Stable. Even my husband commented how impressed he is with the lack of crazy
Shower: Two weeks from tomorrow! My mom is throwing it and 40 people were invited :O

@Mrs. Blue: Those cheeky boys of yours!!! There's still a bit of time left for some more somersaulting in your uterus - though I'll bet they're getting squishy in there.
I'm SO curious to know what position my little one is in. NO idea.
@autumnlove: Olivia is a gorgeous name - I love it!
@blackbird: I love Ella too! Gosh, you are having a HUGE shower. I'm kind of jealous of you guys - baby showers aren't a big thing here.

I had my OB visit yesterday, and all is going pretty boring for me - which I'm happy with.
Baby measuring from fundal height totally fine, nice loud heartbeat.... and all ok with me too. He said I passed the first glucose tolerance test with 'flying colours' - but I still need to do another one after 27 weeks, just to be sure. (Damn!) He's also feeling much happier about how little one is growing 'not too big/not too small' so doesn't feel the need for further scans right now. I'm sad about not seeing little one again, but REALLY happy that he's confident with how the pregnancy is going.
He's going away on holidays soon, so I don't see him again for another 4 weeks.
Luckily I'm booked in for another sneaky scan on Monday at 26 weeks, mwahahaha.
blogger / pomelo / 5361 posts
@blackbird: Elliot Reed and Elliot Stabler were actually pros in our column for Elliot. BTW, love, love, love, love, love the name Ella! It is one of my absolute girl favorites. Also, I go through soo many Tums b/c of heartburn. I won't miss that leaving.
@autumnlove: Since I'm considering Oliver, you can imagine that I love Olivia! How is your LO adjusting to the pregnancy? Do you think she gets what's happening?
@jaguar: So glad everything is "boring!" That's the best kind of report. It might be easier for me to tell how they are positioned because they don't have a ton of room and don't move very often. So, until this week, I've always felt Baby A kick up at the top of my uterus on the left side. Baby B has always kicked down low (lately primarily on my bladder), and he's always on the right side. This week they both got really still for 24 hours, which freaked me out. When they started moving again, I noticed I was getting kicks really low on my left side and high on my right side. That's what made me pretty confident they had both flipped on me.

@jaguar, it's mostly DH's mom's invite list. A lot of his extended family and cousins that I've only met once! So I won't know about half of the attendees haha

Hey everyone!!! Here's my update
How far along: 27w3d
Gender: Girl
Stretch marks: I have a few small ones on my boobs. I'm sure others are yet to come!!!
Belly Button: Shallow innie!! It doesn't seem like it's going to pop out.
Sleep: I don't wake up to pee, but I wake up a few times because my hips are insanely sore from laying on my side!! I've tried a snoogle and a pillow between my legs, and nothing seems to be working
Movement: Very active in the evenings, somewhat active through most of the day. It's exciting because it's easing my anxiety a bit!
Cravings: Yesterday I had a major craving for an egg salad sandwich!
Name: We're keeping the name quiet for now, but the middle name will be Anne.
What I'm looking forward to: My next ultrasound at 32 weeks. This is when we'll know if my stupid low lying placenta has moved up and if I am looking at a c-section or not :S
What I miss: Being able to comfortably tie my shoes.
Emotions: Very stable, surprisingly!
Shower: I had one 2 weeks ago in my hometown since I won't be back before the summer! It was awesome. My mom and sister planned a whole high tea event at a cute little cafe. Baby girl got loads of amazing things!! My MIL is supposed to plan one here, apparently she thinks mid-late March is a great idea... don't even get me started. I feel like me being 37-39 weeks pregnant is in fact a TERRIBLE plan...

Thanks for all the compliments! Everyone is choosing such beautiful names
@silva: & mrs blue: Am glad I am not the only one a little down. This is not usually me and it worried me a little this week. Think I might talk to the midwife on Tues even tho it's just those silly hormones.
@mrs blue: I think Elliot and Oliver are beautiful names. My friend just named her baby Oliver. They sound great together. People might be eh now but once they see the little guy they will get it.
@jaguar: baby seems to be perfectly on track! I think I might be the only person happy not to have another ultrasound. I feel like I want her to be a surprise. I am pretty sure she is head down... felt her flip just after christmas but I think she is still lying across my belly as it's so heavy at the bottom.
@sslm: my friend had her shower at 36 weeks and told me not to do it that late so I feel your pain. Your first shower sounds lovely! A high tea is what I would of liked.
When is everyone doing their glucose test? Mine is on Tuesday.... am nervous!!
pomegranate / 3764 posts
@AprilFool: I did my first one at 22 weeks... so I think I'm going to hold off booking the second GTT at 27-ish weeks.
cantaloupe / 6397 posts
@AprilFool: ugh. In-laws though... If it were my own mom I'd just tell her to have it earlier!!
I'm doing my glucose test next Saturday! My midwife said to wait until I was 28 weeks. I'm nervous too!!!
blogger / pomelo / 5361 posts
I was supposed to do my glucose test last week, but at my appt they decided to wait until I was over 28 weeks. Mine will be at my appt Wednesday.
Does anyone else have to get the Rh negative shots? I'm supposed to have my first one at this next appt.

@Mrs. Blue: I like to pop in pm the due date threads every now and then. I just want to say that one of my longest friends named her youngest son Oliver and he is the sweetest, best boy ever. He is literally one of those kids you feel better about life after seeing him. He is an angel. So, if you go with Oliver, chances are he will be the same and be amazing!!!
I also love Elliot, but I don't know any kids with that name, so no real life update.

I did my glucose test before Christmas when i was about....26 weeks? That juice was gross. Super sugary and sweet and flat. I hate going without food!
cantaloupe / 6017 posts
@blackbird: My practice let me do a breakfast diet- I just had to eat two eggs, an English muffin, orange juice, and milk- and they tested my levels one hour later.
They gave me the choice of that or the juice- the breakfast thing was so easy!
blogger / pomelo / 5361 posts
@Jennimac: What a sweet story! He sounds like such an amazing little boy. Thanks for sharing! Everyone's good reactions to Oliver are making me feel better!
nectarine / 2591 posts
@nycbee: I always said I wanted to see NYC at Christmas time before having kids so that was the main reason for the trip. We also went to Orlando, New Orleans, Memphis and finished up in Las Vegas. We had a great time
@mrs blue: I have to get the rh negative shot too. This is a big appt... GT, Shot and Iron test.
@silva: your breakfast test seems really good! Would much rather do that
nectarine / 2591 posts
@sslm: the hard thing with showers is someone is doing something nice for you so it makes it harder to say something.
wonderful grape / 20453 posts
@silva-I'm so jealous. When my blood sugar gets low, I get nauseated, and then it was flooded with sugar. Hate!
cantaloupe / 6397 posts
@AprilFool: exactly! I don't want to seem ungrateful at all because I'm not! I don't think she's really thought about it, this is her first grandchild and she is thinking about the family that will have to travel to the shower (3-4 hour drive) and thinking the weather will be better in March. Which is true, I'm just not sure how comfortable I will be!!
pomegranate / 3764 posts
We had our 26 week 3D scan today!
Baby girl was hiding & constantly face down. Once again, we had to go for a walk and down some sugary drinks to try and encourage her to move!
When she DID finally move, she had her hands & her feet (!!) in front of her face the entire time. No full frontal lovely face shots, but still some pretty sweet ones. She also flipped us the bird as we were finishing up, which I'm assuming means we're done with scans now.

How far along: 25 weeks 3days
Sex: Girl
Stretch marks: none from this pregnancy.
Belly Button: half is kinda coming out but not an outtie
Sleep: I get up a lot for peeing and recently I'll wake up with my hips hurting from laying on my side so much.
Movement: She is VERY active!
Cravings: none really
Name: Anna Marie
What I'm looking forward to: To delivery. I'm ready to have her and have my family complete.
What I miss: Eating whatever I want at least sometimes. GD has put a stop to that.
Emotions: I'm not too bad. But I'm also on daily meds for my anxiety/depression so I'm sure that helps.
Shower: Being that this is my 3rd baby I don't anticipate a shower of any sort.

@Pumpkinspice: Anna Marie is so beautiful! I love her name.
Here's our 26 week bump shot!

@JAGUAR - Thanks!!
Here we are at 25 weeks 5 days!
Large and in charge lol I'm thinking that shirt has had it til baby girl comes!
blogger / pomelo / 5361 posts
@jaguar: Love, love, love your sweet baby photos! And, I think it's hilarious that she flipped the bird. Sounds like a baby with a lot of personality already!
@Pumpkinspice: You look great! Anna Marie is beautiful name! Will you call her both names or just Anna?
nectarine / 2591 posts
@jaguar: @pumpkin spice: you both have beautiful bumps
@sslm: hmmm you could call and ask when she was thinking and say you have something on that day?
Well I had my GT test. Nearly fainted for the first time in my entire life, she was having trouble getting the vein properly. Not fun. It looks like I passed since she said she was call if anything was low. Am actually really surprised my iron is not low because I am always so tired. I guess that's just pregnancy
Also my shower invites went out...... with the wrong day and date. So that was kinda stressful.
pomegranate / 3764 posts
@Pumpkinspice: I hope my bump looks as awesome as yours soon!
@Mrs. Blue: I can't decide if she's just shy, or cheeky. Either way, as much as I love ogling her pictures, she's leaving something for the imagination until we meet her at the birth - so that's special too!
@AprilFool: Thanks love - sorry to hear about the dodgy reaction, I hope you're feeling okay now. I sent our invites out today, and I'm terrified I've missed a typo on there!!!
pomegranate / 3398 posts
@AprilFool: Thank you!!
@jaguar: LOL It may be cute but it's becoming more and more uncomfortable that's for sure! But, that's par for the course at this point and I'd take all the uncomfortableness needed for baby girl!
pomegranate / 3764 posts
@Pumpkinspice: Aw, I hear you! I have been really struggling with back and side pain these past few weeks - and as hard as it is getting, I'd take it tenfold (ok, please not tenfold) to have a healthy babe at the end.
