@jaguar: Oh I know what you mean! Today I've gotten a good bit of hip pain on my right side and I'm not sure what that's all about but I sure it doesn't plan on lasting long lol
pomegranate / 3764 posts
@Pumpkinspice: Hope it's only temporary!!! I've taken to sitting with a granny cushion wedged behind my lower back. And I think the accompanying side/tummy pains might be, er, loo-related... which is awkward. Pregnancy is so glamourous!

Waiting for the blood draw for my one hour glucose test...please, oh please, oh please be normal! I do NOT want to have to do the three-hour test.

@Mrs. Blue: Wohoo!!!
I just had my 1 hour glucose test yesterday, my midwife should have the results by Tuesday... cross your fingers for me!
This weekend has been really jam packed, and looking at the calendar, it seems like it isn't going to let up until baby is here. Yikes! We are out of town the next two weekends (one weekend is our B&B babymoon!). Then my sister will be visiting and a couple of weeks later my mom is going to visit. Yay!
Can I just vent for a moment? I know it's so self-centered but I am upset because my MIL has decided to plan a baby shower when I will be 37 weeks. It just seems so late. Also, my husband asked her to plan it for when my mom is in town, and she agreed, but now she's not doing that. I just don't get it...

And here is my photo for this week, 29 weeks! Maybe you guys can ease my fears that I haven't really grown????
cantaloupe / 6017 posts
@sslm: you look bigger to me, and it looks rounder on top (like the top of your uterus continues to expand upward). You can always measure if you are worried (I do a lot!)
pomegranate / 3764 posts
@Mrs. Blue: Congratulations on passing your test!!!
@sslm: It does seem late, is there any way at all they could bring it forward a little? Hope you passed your test and you have DEFINITELY popped out this past week in particular. Beautiful belly!
Speaking of popping, I feel HUGE this week. Only 27 for me!

@jaguar: cute!!!
@sslm: awwww
@Mrs. Blue: Congrats!

I need to take a new bump photo!
Baby Girl has been kicking up a storm these days!
I hope everyone is doing well...
@sslm: Sorry about your baby shower! I loooove your striped tops!
cantaloupe / 6397 posts
@Silva: Thanks! How do you measure? I am not sure how to feel for my uterus like my midwife does...
cantaloupe / 6017 posts
@sslm: its easiest for me to feel the fundus by sort of pressing down. there is sort of a shelf there. then just measure up from your pubic bone. but you are definitely growing- don't worry!!
I still feel almost all of my kicks/movement down really low. I know everything is fine, and its still early but I really wish the baby would flip so I could feel things higher up!

@autumnlove: Thanks love! YES. MORE BUMPS.
@sslm: Aw, thank you! I bought this dress for my shower next month but within a week, it's already feeling tight. I don't think I'll make it!!!!

hi mamas! i'm so sorry i've been MIA these past few weeks....moving into our new house + holidays + work travel was a whirlwind and time has been flying by! but i've been lurking every day and have been loving everyone's beautiful bump photos and updates!
in the meantime, my belly & our little dude have had quite the growth spurt. i finally got around to taking a decent bump photo while i was traveling for work in ny this past week so i could share the bump love like all of you gorgeous mamas.
here's a little status update for yours truly:
How far along: 28 weeks
Gender: Boy!
Stretch marks: aside from the ones that appeared around my hips many weeks ago, nothing new...*knocks on wood* i'm thinking i should thank my mamma bio belly cream for that!
Belly Button: a shallow innie...and i used to have the deepest innie ever!
Sleep: is great...until the hubs comes to bed (he's a night owl and goes to bed around 1am), and then i wake up and can't go back to sleep for an hour or two. oof thank goodness for my iPad and HB!
Movement: the little dude likes to bust a move throughout the day and a little bit at night. he's definitely getting stronger!
Cravings: nothing specifically, but mainly savory.
Name: we have a name! but saving it until he makes his big debut
What I'm looking forward to: planning a mini babymoon & getting to meet our little guy and start this new exciting adventure.
What I miss: the occasional cocktail, the 80% of my wardrobe that i can't wear anymore.
Emotions: happy and mildly anxious when i look at our to do list before baby boy arrives (start/finish nursery, birth classes, fill out MLOA paperwork, etc, etc...)
Shower: invitations have been sent! march 2nd is the date for our co ed bbq baby shower & housewarming. we can't wait to see all of our friends and family

Hi mamas! Sharing a new bump photo (thank god for HB otherwise I never would have started doing this!).
So I passed my glucose test (YAY!). I did a low-carb diet a couple years ago for a few months (weight-loss challenge with friends). Although it was a fun science project, I was very glad to get back to being able to eat a wide variety of foods (esp ethnic!). And now that my tastes have gotten kind of specific, would have been even harder...
Chugging along, just past my 26-week mark. Heartburn has gotten especially bad lately. I had a bad spell yesterday & felt pukey, although I suspect that was from my cup of coffee. Flashbacks to my first trimester...
The baby is kicking like a little maniac, and I can see the kicks from outside better now. Freaky and neat!
I did some pre-natal yoga from a DVD (Jennifer Wolfe's version), which was a lot of fun. Need to get a bit more in gear to make sure I'm active before I get huge.
We've been busy slowly cleaning up the house, getting rid of things we don't need, in prep for the Baby Gear. I just finished my registry on Amazon and feel thoroughly exhausted. I read most of Baby Bargains & have a couple excel spreadsheets from friends, so I have the basics nailed at least!
Had a disagreement with the hubby about how much furniture to get for the guest room/baby's room. Like most NYers, we have no room, I do love to buy stuff, and I hate cleaning/organizing. Deadly combo. I've gotten much better on the buying front, and I'm getting a bit better on the getting-rid-of-stuff front, so just need to conquer the organizing bit! This will only get worse once the baby comes, I fear. At the least I want to get the Malm dresser from Ikea & can use that as a changing table. DH doesn't want any disposable furniture.
My friends shower is going to be in late Feb, and I've been helping a friend with some of the planning. Feel better now that the details are mostly nailed down (date, place, food (sorta)). It'll be casual, in the common room of my building, and I'm really looking forward to it! We'll do a separate family shower at a local restaurant, probably.
Am loving all the names posted here!
@pumpkinspice - love Anna Marie
I went through a list of names really fast online, picking about 40 that I was going to sift through in more detail. I shared (too early) with DH, and he picked 2 (Isabella & Juliet/Juliette). I wish I'd been able to think about it some more & narrow down first! Those names are pretty but not sure if they're "the ones". (although I do love Ella & that could be a nickname)
@jaquar - love the 3D scan! so neat!
@aprilfool - oo, i hope you had a lovely time here in NY! It's fun to come during the holidays (although crowded!). Sounds like you had a total whirlwind adventure across the country!
@mrsblue - i love the names oliver and elliott. i'm sorry to hear folks have been making you feel bad about it! i guess this is why people don't share names before the birth!
- Sorry to hear about Baby A being head down. I hope he'll turn again!!
- And congrats on passing your GT test!
@sslm - re: the late shower, totally feel you. it's hard when it's someone doing something nice for you! wonder if it's possible to mention you're so excited for it but maybe she wants to plan for earlier in case the baby comes early (would be a shame for her to plan it & have to cancel)? i can only imagine how uncomfortable you'd be that late in the game. can your hubby talk to his mom? is there a reason she's picking a date so late?
- your bump progression is so awesome! you definitely look bigger at 29 wks than 26.
@sylvie_b - love your bump photo!

@sylvie_b: You look wonderful! xxx
@nycbee: Nice to see you! Names are harder than I thought they would be. We're set now, but it was still a challenge to find the 'right one'. So much pressure. You're looking great!

Yikes. I'm behind.
@sslm: I definitely see bumpage growth. Even if you didn't, my OB told me the size you're measuring can chance based on how the baby is laying right then, so I'm sure it makes a difference in how the bump looks, too! I would be peeved about the shower date, too. I'm measuring about 36-37 weeks right now, and I can assure you that you will not be feeling comfortable and relaxed at that point. Maybe you could just (a) ask if there's anyway to move it up at least a few weeks so you won't be too uncomfortable and (b) point out that your mom could be here on ____ weekend. I would be super sad if my mom couldn't be there.
@jaguar: That picture on the left is precious! Your expression is just too cute. And, of course, little miss's bump is looking quite lovely, too!
@sylvie_b: You look great! I sympathize on missing your regular wardrobe. I swear it will feel like I went on a shopping spree when I can finally dig into my closet again. I love the sound of a BBQ shower/housewarming. So fun!
@nycbee: Coffee is still the one thing that makes me get flat out sick. I hope that side effect leaves quickly after delivery! I'm the queen of clutter, and it's been such a pain to try to declutter/organize to get ready for baby. I hope you are more successful than me! Cute bump pic!
We're going to the second half of our "Baby Care Basics" class tonight. I'm hoping it's better than the first one, which literally consisted of things like "When you pick up a baby, you need to support the neck. Practice picking up a baby properly with the dolls in front of you." Sigh. I was hoping for a little less "basic" than that, like how the heck am I supposed to keep these kids fed, sleeping, dry and happy.
pomegranate / 3764 posts
@Mrs. Blue: I hope your next class is better! Ours start in two weeks, but we had to do the longer option - six weeks worth of 2xhour Wednesday nights! I just hope it's useful.

My belly is definitely getting in the way these days - it feels so awkward to try to move around it sometimes!
The invites for both showers have gone out now & I've commenced my registry stalking. Someone just bought the co-sleeper! Yay!

@autumnlove: & @sylvie_b: & @sslm: Thank you loves! SO happy to be getting to the business end of things. I feel like I've been pregnant and in the second-tri for EVER.

This week on Friday we have our next ultrasound! Please send me placenta moving up good thoughts :). We're so excited to get another peek at the little bean! She's moving around a ton lately, letting me know she's doing well
Here I am at 30 weeks!

@sslm: Good luck! I'm jealous of anyone else with scans, because I think we're done now until she's here. 12 weeks without seeing her is going to be agony!

almost 29 weeks! (28w5d). lately i've been thanking the heavens for my old navy maternity skinny jeans, long tank tops and my easy, long sweaters. i think i have , like, 7 outfits on heavy rotation. and they're all basically the same thing, just in different colors
This weekend we ordered the rug for our little dude's nursery (crib and crib mattress arrive tomorrow!), picked out the delivery and breast feeding classes we'll take at our hospital, watched a movie at home (End of Watch = so good!) and did our every weekend errands (groceries, laundry, etc). The hubs also put together our new BBQ grill, which he'll be christening on Super Bowl Sunday (yay niners!!!) and will be using ALOT to cook us dinner when our little guy arrives in April.
What else did everyone do this weekend?
@sslm: sending lots of good vibes to you, mama!
blogger / pomelo / 5361 posts
@sslm: Good luck! Sending good vibes your way! You look great. I can't believe we're in the 30s in weeks now!
@Silva: I'm so bad about registry stalking. I just can't help myself.
@jaguar: Happy third trimester! I hope it goes by fast for you. You look just as lovely as always!
@sylvie_b: Cute! I wear the same outfits in rotation, too. Sounds like everything is coming together now!
I was actually glad to go back to work this week. I had so many meltdowns during the weekend, that I think DH and I were both glad for some work distractions. We just have so many projects and so many 'to do"s, and I feel like I'm running out of time. Thus, the meltdowns! Yikes. It's going to be a long 6 weeks until the boys arrive.

27 weeks 2 days!
I believe I've dropped.
We have a growth scan on Thursday and I'm really excited to see her and how big she is!
cantaloupe / 6017 posts
@sslm: You are definitely growing! Seems like you really popped out this week- You look great!
@sylvie_b: I loved End of Watch- great movie! All your nursery planning sounds like fun! We aren't doing a nursery (we'll stay in our tiny apartment with the baby in our room for at least several months- maybe a year) - my nesting this weekend was working on organizing our closet and re-arranging/make some changes to the living room.
@Mrs. Blue: Sorry you are feeling stressed- I hope you are able to take some breaks and relax, too. Growing two babies is hard enough work!
@Pumpkinspice: have fun at the growth scan! i just found out we have an ultrasound at 36 weeks to check position (I guess my practice does this, although its not standard care)- that is so long from now!
Had my 28 week appointment today- one more in four weeks, and then I start going every 2 weeks. It was crazy to be scheduling appointments for 34, 36 weeks- and then moving to every single week! I can't believe how close we are getting (at the same time, it sort of feels like time is dragging by sometimes).
Baby is head down, with its head in my pelvic area (she said sometimes they are still "floating" at this size, but mine is probably pretty secured into place, which was good to hear). We also talked about these random, very strong pains I've been getting in my vagina- she said that its probably a nerve being pressed on by the big baby! Everything looked good, and she reassured some of the random anxieties I've been having.
I did have a melt down last night- I was definitely over tired. I feel like I have to nag my husband to do things like read about childcare options and labor/delivery- and it makes me feel awful. I don't want to nag- I want him to do it because he's excited about it! But the meltdown was productive in the end, I feel like he opened up about some of the worries he has about how our lives will change. Its easy to get caught up in my own head and forget that this major change is happening to both of us!

@Silva: Omg, the vag pain--yes! I call it lightening crotch, but I didn't know what caused it.
pomegranate / 3764 posts
@Silva: & @Mrs. Blue: Oh man, these last few days have I been getting those weird vag pains. It's like this HUGE pressure all of a sudden, and if I stand up, it's like everything's going to fall out. So weird.
@Pumpkinspice: You do look lower! Beautiful bump, as always!!
@sylvie_b: You make pregnancy look so hip and comfy. Jealous!
pomegranate / 3895 posts
@jaguar: Looking adorable as per usual. Yay for the third tri! Can you believe we're there already?!
@sslm: You are all belly. SO cute! I read your other post about your upcoming u/s - wishing you lots of good luck. Please keep us posted.
@sylvie_b: Looking great and it sounds like you had a super productive weekend - good for you!
@Pumpkinspice: What a lovely bump! I hear that it feels like a bit of a relief when the baby drops because it takes the pressure off your diaphragm. Hope you're feeling well!
@Silva: Sorry to hear that you were feeling emotional . I felt the same way last week, but in the end it was a really good thing, because I finally asked DH for the help that I need, which can be a tough thing to do. Glad to hear that it worked out well for you and your DH too
Sorry that I haven't been around much lately. Sometimes I feel silly posting here and in the WB April 2013 thread. I had a bit of a tough week last week, but so far this week am back to feeling like my normal self.
I'm laying off the exercise until my next midwife appointment (tomorrow) because I've had some NASTY RLP and want to check in with my midwife about it before I put any more strain on my body. As a Type A who's worked very hard to stay active throughout my pregnancy, it's very hard to accept that I may have to slow down at some point.
I'm 30 weeks today! Baby is kicking like a maniac and definitely growing
ETA: ARGH! I don't know why my photos always post sideways!
pomegranate / 3398 posts
@hergreenapples: I def feel that type of relief but now I have this heaviness in my pelvis and walking is a bit more of a challenge on my 5'1" frame.
I swear if I took a picture of myself today you all would think it was not a day later than yesterdays. I look way bigger and pointed outward. Idk what she's doing in there lol
