We had our growth scan today!!!
She's amazing and perfect and 3lbs!!!
Attached are just a couple of our like 12 pictures we got lol
One down side from our appt was that my GD is being a b!tch and we've made the decision to start me on insulin. Not thrilled but it's for the best so that's that.
    Enjoy!!

I wish we got a growth scan. I'd love to know how she's doing!

@jaguar, I'm doing great, thanks for checking in

@pumpkinspice, I can't believe how fully developed she is! That's so cool! i have a scan at 34 weeks; I'm so excited. They change so much after week 20.

I had my shower this past weekend and good lord, there is a LOT of stuff, ha! And even more stuff is needed. It's scary how much stuff babies need! I've been spending the last few nights washing teeny tiny clothes and organizing teeny tiny socks

Well I had my scan... placenta is still low, but baby girl looks healthy and happy! We didn't get any pictures. I'll have to go back in a few weeks and hope my placenta has moved a little bit more... apparently it needs to be 2 cm from the opening of the cervix and right now it's 1.5 cm. Otherwise I'm headed for a section...

@sslm: happy mini baby moon, mama! so happy to hear baby girl is healthy and happy

@blackbird: congrats on your shower, lady! we haven't had our shower yet, already have a TON of stuff and still feel like there's so much more left to get, too. oof! but my heart melts at the thought of washing teeny tiny clothes and socks....

@Pumpkinspice: look at that gorgeous baby girl! congrats on a great ultrasound and i hope you GD gets better soon.

@jaguar: congratulations on passing GD test #2, my dear!!!

this week we assembled the little dude's crib (baby mod modena in grey), washed and put on his navy/white striped sheets on the mattress (naturepedic 2-in-1), ordered our glider (pbk comfort), rug (off white shag) and changing table (babyletto hudson in grey). the goods arrive next wednesday and its starting to finally feel like a nursery!

does anyone else have a pinterest page for their nursery inspiration? it has been sooo helpful for us (and dangerous too - so many cute things! must. not. buy). here's a peek at what our page looks like (below)

oh, and i spoiled myself, went shopping and bought myself this sparkly hospital/delivery bag: http://www.shopbop.com/luka-weekender-deux-lux/vp/v=1/845524441960763.htm

this weekend we're hosting a little superbowl party (go 49ers!!!) and we'll continue to clean and prep around the house. and i'll probably sneak a nap here and there

what else is everyone up to this weekend?

    happy friday, mamas!

@blackbird: I am in love with doing baby laundry, though I know that feeling won't last too long! It is incredible how much space everything takes. I'm not sure where we will put everything, since our house already seems so full just with what we have now.

@sslm: Sorry it hasn't moved more, but hopefully, it will be far enough up by your next scan. If not, it looks like we may both end up in the section club together. Hope the B&B weekend is amazing!

@Pumpkinspice: Love the pics! It's so fun to see how much they change!

I officially got my first work restriction, though I think it was mostly because my OB could tell that I'm wearing down. I'm now not supposed to work more than 30 hours in the office, but I can still work from home. We'll see how it goes, but I think it will be helpful. I'm working now (well, not right this second obviously), so it will mean more work on evenings and weekends, but it really is better because at least I can take breaks, lay down for a bit, etc.

Everything else is good. The boys were estimated at 3 lbs. 9 oz. and 3 lbs. 2 oz. at our last ultrasound a week ago. It's crazy that I have the equivalent of a full-term baby inside me and still have 5-6 lbs to add before delivery day! I have zero idea where said additional pounds are supposed to fit!

We took dinner to some friends from church last night who just brought home their little boy. OMG, he was so precious; I didn't want to stop holding him! It made me even more ready for my lil' dudes to get here.

@jaguar: Congrats on passing the GD test! You are glowing in those bump pictures!

@Mrs. Blue: Hope you are able to take it easy with the decreased work schedule- you are growing two big boys in there! Those sizes are great!

@sylvie_b: I love your inspiration board- I'm jealous of your nursery plans. We don't have the space for a separate nursery, so the nesting is restricted to a corner of our bedroom!

@sslm: I hope that the placenta moves for you. It sounds like you are handling it well so far. I hope that the trip was a good time to relax and reconnect

29 weeks. I feel really big, guys- particularly when I think about growing for another 11 weeks!
Having a lot more round ligament pain when I go for my walks.

I've been drinking nettle tea 3x / day to try to get my iron levels up (I have iron-deficient anemia, but I'm just below the cutoff so we are trying to get it up without taking supplements that might constipate me ever more!). I still need a ton of sleep, but I do think the tea might be helping give me a little more energy overall. Maybe just the placebo effect, but I'll take it!

    29 weeks!

    Hi mamas!

@mrs blue, @sylvie_b - I hear you on the maternity clothing rotation! I feel like I'm wearing the same thing all the time! (although when I wasn't pregnant I still wore the same things all the time b/c I have too much clothing & forget about pieces)

@jaguar - congrats on passing your 2nd GTT test! and your bump is doing great! you have such cute outfits on rotation.

@pumpkinspice - love your bump pics & the US! so exciting and glad that there's a silver lining to the GD. I think I have some more coming up myself & can't wait to see how she's changed since 20 weeks!

@blackbird - i got some 2nd-hand clothing and am tickled pink by how small it all is! i put some of the baby socks on my fingers and had a laugh with DH about the size.

@SSLM - hope you had a lovely time on your mini babymoon! i wish we could go on one but it seems like there's so much to do! maybe in march...

@slyvie_b - love your pinterest page. i think this would be dangerous for me. i'm trying not to spend too much time or money on the nursery other than the basics, and this would be just too tempting.

@mrs blue - in a way, i'm glad to hear of your work restriction. i think most of us have a tendency to do too much so sometimes it's helpful to have an outsider to tell us to take it more easy! hopefully it doesn't become inconvenient for you.

@silva - you have a lovely bump! and even cuter in that dress.

I hit 28 weeks! Now starting to really feel this baby. Harder to put my shoes on, getting tired more easily, back hurting more, having pee come out when I sneeze (sorry if that was TMI!).

I have my first childbirth class and am wondering if it will be cool/interesting or silly. They're being offered by my hospital ($70 for a 4-wk series). If they suck, I checked out another local outfit that does weekend intensive sessions (for a cool $350). This might be overkill but I'd love to attend something with DH that we both feel is helpful. He hasn't quite taken to any of the books.

I'm getting the first few items from my registry, which is exciting! The main friends shower is in 3 weekends (still some prep work), and the family shower is in 1 month. The work for both has been mostly done, thankfully.

It's become a little difficult since I was hoping to borrow some items, so I left them off my registry. And then found out my friend just got pregnant and will need the items back sooner than I thought! So am in touch with another friend to get her gear. This makes for busy weekends driving around and checking out the gear!

I also discovered a local Yahoo parents listserv that I'm now addicted to. It's very much an info-sharing, child gear giving/selling group. I've already gotten a few free things off of the group and bought a few other things at great prices. It kind of kills me to register for stuff at full price (although Amazon has great prices!) when I could be getting stuff second-hand for so so much cheaper. Oh well. You can't discount the convenience factor of having everything delivered to your door.

@jaguar - remember I said I wasn't getting a glider? Well I have one now, thanks to a mom on the listserv!

The second-hand hunting doesn't come without a price, though. I'm unfortunately feeling very run down recently, and running around town (even in a car) to pick things up has been a bit of a drain. I have to remember to take things easy, which is hard when sometimes I feel like I want to do so much!

The other thing I'm struggling with is nursery furniture. We're getting the Graco Lauren crib in white. I know I'll need a space for changing & storage. There are some folks selling 2nd-hand furniture. Which I'm weighing against getting these 2 Ikea pieces:
    http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/50067168/
    http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/40159837/ (for changing table)

I do hate putting together Ikea furniture, but maybe I can convince DH to do it all. muhahaha

I'm also moving onto reading about babies and sleeping. I got 2 books on the subject, and my girlfriend recommended I do as much reading as possible BEFORE the baby, while I'm still somewhat coherent.

And including latest baby bump shot...

@nycbee: You look amazing! I'm planning to start doing some reading about baby sleep as well. My midwives have a book and dvd library from which their patients can borrow. I'm going to pick up the Happiest Baby on the Block dvd when I'm there next week.

@Silva: I had amazing iron levels early in the pregnancy but they came back low at 28 weeks. My midwife told me that that's usually the low point for iron in the pregnancy and that they should start to rebound. Mine were just below the normal range as well, but there was quite a significant drop from earlier on, which would probably explain my exhaustion! How's the tea working out for you? I'm interested to hear the effects (whether just perceived or otherwise!).

    @Pumpkinspice: Love that bump!

AFM, I woke up at 3:30 this morning to feel the baby moving in ways he/she doesn't usually. It felt like a major position shift was happening. It kind of hurt and was accompanied by those fun pains that I think feel like electric shocks to the cervix...good times! Anyhow, I don't know exactly what happened, because I don't know what position the baby was in before, but I'm guessing he/she is now lower and head down. A colleague even commented this morning that my belly looked different today.

How's everyone feeling? I'm 31 weeks this week. My energy levels are starting to rebound a little and my RLP has been MUCH better this week. I'm back at the gym and wearing a support belt during my workouts is really helping.

Speaking of the gym, a new member of my gym really made my day last night when she told me she had been struggling mentally with our workout, but then looked over and saw me doing it pregnant and became inspired to keep going. Very sweet of her to say!

Happy Thursday everyone - it's almost the weekend!

I had my OB appointment (we're every two weeks from now on!) and baby is measuring a little ahead at 31 weeks. (I'm 29+4) She's apparently head down, too, though that could change.

My appointments are still short and boring, but I'm taking that as a GOOD thing!

@nycbee: happy 28wks, mama! Your bump is so lovely and you look fabulous! And yay for the glider! We got ours this week and we loooove ours.

@Pumpkinspice: lookin good, mama! A perfect bump!

@hergreenapples: so glad you're feeling better this week, lady! I love that you're still hitting the gym....amazing!

@jaguar: yay for another smooth doctor's visit! Baby jag sounds healthy and happy!

As for us this week, i have an ob appt tmrw and our last ultrasound on monday! We also signed up for a few birthing classes at our hospital. and, we've been hell bent on finishing all the home projects before our little dude's arrival....including his nursery. We got our glider, rug, ottoman and changing table this week and we ordered a few prints for his room (which I have to get framed this weekend!). The hubs is sooooo obsessed the the glider, i think we may battle who gets to sit in it. And here's a few pics of the nursery in progress!

    What are everyone's weekend plans??

@nycbee: There are some great deals to be found- my husband made me stop buying stuff until after our shower, but I was also on the hunt for lots of used items. You look great! That top looks very comfy...I'm beginning to think I may need to buy a few more tops to get me through to the end...ugh.

@Pumpkinspice: You look great! You are so good about taking/posting your bump pictures- I love seeing your progression!

@hergreenapples: I like the tea. I really do think the nettles have helped a little. I'm still very tired- but I do feel like I have a bit more energy. My iron levels were just barely below the borderline / cut off, so I don't have too far to bring them up to be considered within the "normal" range. I make a pot every other night or so to drink iced, and then have at least a cup of hot tea at work. Its actually been hard for me to get in the 3-cups a day (particularly at work) because water is easier.
I like the taste- but it is definitely grassy.
I want to start Raspberry leaf too, but right now I"m just going to focus on the nettles. When I get closer to the due date maybe I will switch over. My plan was to drink a cup or so a day of the RRL tea until 37 weeks, and then drink 4 cups a day- but I've been slacking!

@jaguar: at my last appointment I was measuring ahead by about 5 days or so too. I was just glad I wasn't measuring small- I probably would have panicked about that! I am looking forward to going in every two weeks, because even though the appointments are so routine and boring I find them incredibly reassuring.

@sylvie_b: So much progress! Your nursery looks wonderful- very soothing and peaceful! Have fun at the ultrasound! We don't have one until 36 weeks- can't wait!
