@sslm: Yay! So glad to hear all went well. That is wonderful news!
@Crisark: My spotting also started after a, er, difficult BM. Interesting. Hoping that both our babies are doing well and that the spotting is indicative of nothing at all!

@savanarunner: Thanks! I'm sitting at work for another 3 1/2 hours and then I'm off to the hospital for the blood work. Tomorrow and Wed morning are going to drag while I wait to get the results.
Hoping I have no more incidents in the mean time.

@hergreenapples: Your vacation sounds amazing!! Jealous! In hindsight, there were definitely some signs of multiples, but I had nothing to compare it with so I didn't think anything anout it. My m/s started really early and has been pretty icky. My clothes were getting really tight sooner than they should have, but I just thought I had bloating that was never going down all the way. Alas, apparently with twins, more severe m/s and growing early are pretty standard.

Oh, we will totally be finding out. I don't have the patience for Team Green. No way, no how!
As far as...ahem...straining down there, you guys could talk to your doctors about glycerin suppositories. Very safe--they give them to babies, apparently. My GI doc has me taking them every other day now, along with that Miralax stuff. It was weird and uncomfortable at first but I'm now VERY relieved I'm taking them.

EDD: April 16, according to early ultrasound.
How far along?: 7 weeks
How long TTC: We weren't, not really. Kinda NTNT since marriage, but we've been somewhat aware of fertile times and avoided them.
First child?: Yes : )
Any feeling about boy/girl: I've been dreaming about baby girls, but that doesn't mean anything! We'd love to have a girl, but really it wouldn't matter either way.
First doctor's appointment: 9/5/12. Though I had an ultrasound today to determine my due date.
How do you feel?/Symptoms so far: I've felt pretty good so far. My breasts are incredibly sore and I'm really tired, but no real nausea yet (knock on wood!)
Who have you told?: Basically everyone already knows : \ I wanted to keep it quiet but my family's been going through a lot and we thought the news would help cheer everyone up. It worked : )

@Mrs. Blue: Your experience had me totally freaked out there would be 2 in there today... lol!!!
We're probably going to be team green, but we're not completely sure yet... it's hard to decide!!

@Jenna: Welcome!!!!! No nausea at 7 weeks is promising, I hear most people have it by 8 weeks or not at all!

Oh and on the nausea front, I dry heaved it up BIG time this morning in the shower. Does anyone else feel that dry heaving is so much worse than just throwing up??

@sslm: I wish I would have considered it going in. I could not have been more shocked! Now, I kind of want all y'all to have twins, too, so I may or may not be secretly praying that the u/s missed your twin... <insert devious laughter>

@Mrs. Blue: LOL. Well he specifically said "there's only 1 in there"... so there better not be any more!!! However, if I am being completely honest, I am a little jealous of your twins
wonderful grape / 20453 posts
haha, no twins for me, blue, sorry! I've already had 2 ultrasounds (and a third coming this Wednesday) and both confirmed just one sac in the right place

Thank you guys! We are so excited for our little April baby.
Good to know about the no nausea by 8 weeks thing-- I'm hoping that's true for me (and that it doesn't sneak up on me this next week)
I wasn't having periods so I had to go in for early ultrasound to determine my due date. Though the ultrasound overall didn't look like much, I did get to see the heart beat and that was really neat!

@Jenna: welcome, my dear! Our first u/s is on the 6th....it can't come soon enough!

@mrs blue Wow! twins! So excited for you but must be so nervewracking. I was relieved to see only one in there, mostly because we have a big trip planned in Nov and that would of made me high risk for travel.
As for gender I am finding out asap. lol
Am finding the whole thing a little difficult atm... why i have been a bit absent. ms symptoms had died down but now seems to be back full force. We're at 9 weeks now and i desperately want to get past that 12 week mark. Can't wait to have a proper belly going on.
@jenna 8 weeks was a good week for nausea for me but it's back in week 9, haha

Hi gals! I'll be 7 wks on Wednesday and am starving 24/7. The BBs are still big and sore and I'm more bloated than ever. The waves of nausea come and go, but those vitamin c drops have been life savers for me
How is everyone feeling this week? And a big WELCOME to our new April mamas!!

@Jenna: Hi and CONGRATULATIONS again!
I totally thought we'd be Team Green. But... hubby desperately wants to know! I'm not fussed either way, so we'll see how he feels in oh, about 14 weeks.

@sylvie_b: Hi! I'll be at 6 weeks on Thursday. I am sooo hungry and bloated the last few days! Just completed my Intake Packet for my Prenatal Intake Nurse Visit next week.
wonderful grape / 20453 posts
I'm also feeling significantly better moving into week 9. Haven't had any waves of ickiness for a few days now and haven't been as exhausted as I was two weeks ago. My appetite's also leveling out, but it could be because I've figured it out a little more: more meals, less quantity.
I'm paranoid they're bad 'signs' but i have an appt tomorrow, so I'll know for sure then. I keep reminding myself that we already had a heartbeat, but that didn't stop the first m/c, so it doesn't really help. No rest for the weary, I tell you!

Back at work today after 10 days of vacation. it's my first day being at work while dealing with m/s. I came equipped with a full sleeve of saltines, snacks and some hot water and ginger, which I'm currently sipping on - highly recommended!
8 weeks today! No more spotting since yesterday morning (*knocks on wood*)

@sslm I agree, dry heaving is SO much worse than just puking!
@jenna congrats and welcome!
I women I used to work with had a normal pregnancy, ultrasounds, etc., and after some concerns had a late ultrasound. The ultrasound tech said "I see two heads!" and left the room to get a doctor. The poor woman was stuck in the room waiting and thinking her baby had 2 heads, turns out there was a twin that had been hiding behind the other the whole pregnancy. So @mrsblue They can miss a twin on the ultrasound! Her twins are 5 now so that wasn't too terribly long ago. After having an ultrasound myself I have no idea HOW they could miss one!

Had some spotting earlier, so I'm getting an ultrasound today

everything's ok!
(for anyone else wondering, my NP said that straining during a BM can totally cause bleeding). No idea what caused mine, though, but it was short lived.

@blackbird: I felt the same around week 8/9. So glad everything looks ok!

@autumnlove: ugh. Sorry to hear that. It's miserable, but I just keep repeating my mantra, "It's temporary and for good cause!"

@Mrs. Blue: I gagged on cereal and cold milk...my favorite! I'll remember that mantra!

@blackbird: Yay! That's wonderful news!
Ladies seeking relief from nausea: I've had tons of meetings today so not as much time to snack as I seem to need lately (every two hours, minimum). So, before I left for work this morning I sliced some fresh ginger - probably about an inch and a half, sliced into rounds - and added it to the bottom of my mug. I filled it with hot water from our Keurig and sipped on it through my first two meetings. I've refilled it twice since then and it has really, really helped at keeping the nausea at bay. Totally worth a try if you're having trouble with nausea.

@blackbird: Yay!! And I'm so jealous you got an ultrasound!! I can only have blood work to make sure we are progressing since I'm only 6 weeks. boooo lol
Hoping that's what mine was from yesterday!!
I just got my first HCG levels from yesterdays test and they were at 3,575 so as long as tomorrow 48 hr retest is a nice increase/doubling we are good
Plus the spotting was so faint and only lasted that one potty break with a strained BM !
Starting to feel better!
