@chibee: I have been nauseous but no throwing up. That was also the case with DD

@CharityAnne: you know I've had cramps, too. Scary stuff. Hang in there.

@Torchwood: I have been crazy nauseous since 7dpo, so it is very possible. And I love that shirt!

@Dandelion: @chibee: I said yesterday that I can't believe we are almost to May mamas! But I am trying to stay in the present for myself and appreciate every day. 6+5 over here. Still nervous, but excited, because I've never made it this far!

So I'm trying an experiment today...I don't have much to do, so I skipped the zofran. We will see how good/bad of an idea this really is...

@LovelyPlum: Glad to hear I might not be crazy. Feeling it even more today. Though I woke up at 4 this morning so hungry I couldn't go back to sleep until I got up and got some food. Oy. And thanks! It's from Target ^_^

@T.H.O.U.: @Dandelion: @luckypenny: I hope i am just lucky, i got off the phone w/my mom today and she was shocked i don't feel sick or anything - she said she didn't get bad MS but she said she def had food/smell aversions from early on and i have none. I honestly feel totally normal minus my sore boobs..

    @chibee: fingers super crossed!

So my no zofran experiment failed spectacularly. I made it exactly an hour with the awful nausea before I caved. Not doing that again for a while!

also had sort of a scary morning...I noticed some brown spotting this morning. I have had cramps pretty badly all week, so I got really scared. I finally decided to call the office, and it turns out that my doctor was actually the one on call, so it was good to talk to him. He doubled the amount of progesterone that I'm taking, but it was sobering to hear what I already knew, that if this baby isn't sticky, there is not much that can be done.

I've laid low all day, and the spotting has mercifully stopped. The cramping comes and goes, so I'm hopeful it is just normal cramping. I go in on Monday for my first appointment, which is good. I'm scared, though, because I have never made it to a first appointment, and I spent a good part of the day worried that I wouldn't get there this time, either. I know I might be overreacting a bit, but I'm so, so gun shy after my last two losses. I just can't stand the thought of doing that again

@LovelyPlum: oh lady I'm so sorry. I can't even imagine how worriesd you must be but we are here for you! I'm keeping you in my thoughts. Get lots of rest mama

    eggplant / 11408 posts

@luckypenny: thank you I've done pretty much nothing all day and am about to go to sleep again, after a long day of napping. No more spotting or cramping, thank goodness. I'm glad you all don't think I'm nuts, because I often feel it!

    How are you holding up??

  11. luckypenny

    grapefruit / 4582 posts

@LovelyPlum: oh, I'm so glad the spotting/cramping stopped I'm holding up okay! Nausea is bad some days and not others. But fatigue has gotten better. I'm cautiously hopeful lol

@LovelyPlum: aww hun, I am keeping my fingers crossed so tightly for you that you're feeling better and your appointment goes beautifully!

I haven't been posting much because I'm in Iceland for a conference and the wifi sucks, but it has been crazy to be here while pregnant! My nausea has gotten a little better in that it tends to go away by 1pm-ish and I can eat a normal dinner, but sleep has been tricky, I am usually only able to sleep in short spurts and then have trouble going back to sleep, but I slept like a log last night thank goodness!

@LovelyPlum: I will have my fingers crossed for you through Monday! Hopefully it's a good sign it stopped.

@luckypenny: my fatigue is crazy. I took a solid three hour nap yesterday. And then was falling asleep at 10 on after a movie with DH.

@nana87: hopefully you get some rest while you are over there.

Sorry that I've been so absent lately ladies, the fatigue has hit me even harder and doing much of anything is exhausting...hope you're all doing well

EDD if you have one: April 28?
When Did You Find Out?: Yesterday . This is actually the first month I did not chart (I've been charting to avoid for over 3 years, so I figured for our first month I would put down the thermometer and see what happened) so I don't know my exact dpo. However, I'm about 14Dpo based on my average.
    Child Number: One
    Where You Live: MD
What kind of provider will you see?: OB GYN
When's Your First Appointment?: Will call tomorrow
What kind of birth do you want?: One that results in a healthy baby. I'm keeping my mind open about this and will go with what the baby needs.
What You're Most Excited For: Telling our families. It will be the first grandchild for both our families.
What You're Most Scared About: Miscarriage. I need to stop googling.
Symptoms so far: I had cramping start last week, but they have gotten better. I think it may have been implantation. For a while they felt like menstrual cramps and I kept thinking I was going to get my period but it never came. Now that I'm past when I should have gotten my period, they seem to have dissipated.
Any fun plans for the end of summer/fall?: I'm a teacher so I've had the whole summer off. I've been refinishing my kitchen and I'm putting the final touches on my backsplash this week.

I can't believe I'm posting this... I'm so excited! Per my cycle calculation, I'm an April due date. (My O day says something different, but I'm calling it as an April, so there.)

    Child Number: First!
    Where You Live: UT
What kind of provider will you see?: CNM at a birth center, possibly with a Doula.
When's Your First Appointment?: This week.
What kind of birth do you want?: Natural insofar as it leads to a healthy baby.
What You're Most Excited For: Everything.
What You're Most Scared About: Miscarriage. The last one ended that way, so just trying to keep happy thoughts this time.

@LovelyPlum: Rest up. Your body needs it!

I'm so nervous and excited at the same time about this pregnancy. I'm thankful for a place I can talk to people about it since we won't be telling our families right away.

@lovelyplum: you're just the loveliest, thank you - so glad to be here!

@kate6214: Awesome that we have the same name, AND the same straddle EDD! I guess it just means that we can go in both Yaknow, and be super fun friends and all

ETA: we're not telling anyone until we've had a successful heartbeat appointment. So even though my best friend and sister know, none of my other friends do. That's not going to be easy - I'm terrible at secrets!

I told my mom today! She's excited and very supportive of me electing for a scheduled c-section. She just said, "I don't blame you at all for wanting that!" Totally not what I expected, so I'm happy. I told her she can share the news with my dad but not with my brothers quite yet.

She also said, "I wouldn't worry about anything with this one...it's ok to be nervous, I don't think there's a reason to be worried." Glad she thinks so...I feel the same way.

I feel better telling her for some reason...something about moms.

  37. LovelyPlum

    eggplant / 11408 posts

@Dandelion: I'm so, so glad!!! I know, something about Moms, huh? It is so awesome to hear your confidence! Did you decide on the c-section?

So I told my supervisor today... Since I'm in school, I have several people to tell-advisor, prof who is supervising my assistantahips, grad director...I wanted to tell her early, in case I need some flexibility, especially with my scares. She lives right by, me, so on my evening walk with my pup, I saw her on her porch and stopped to chat with her. It was scary, but I think it was the right decision. I'm nervous, because we don't get leave, and school won't be over yet when I'm due. But she seemed pretty supportive (it is always so hard to know, though!), so I'm hopeful.

@nana87-how are you handling this?? Are you as nervous as I am??

  38. Dandelion

    watermelon / 14206 posts

@LovelyPlum: I'm about 80% decided on it. I have to talk to the OB office again, but I'm sure they'll go along with that. They told me they prefer I schedule at 39 weeks anyways, so I'm gonna ask if I can plan on the section anyways. I'll get more info as my pregnancy progresses.

  39. LovelyPlum

    eggplant / 11408 posts

@Dandelion: makes sense. I'm glad you're feeling better. Thanks also for starting that c-section thread. I fall into the camp where I would like to avoid one, but if I need to do it, I want to know as much as possible about it. So I was reading the stories with great interest, and I'm sure I will come back to it a lot!

  40. Dandelion

    watermelon / 14206 posts

@LovelyPlum: It made me feel so much for confident in it. I saw that it got a lot of views, so I bet lots of women are curious about it. I just never asked anyone questions about a csection, so I didn't really know what it all entailed. I hope it helped a lot of women. I'm definitely not as scared about a csection as I was before I started that thread.
