@LovelyPlum: yay for a bump! i hope to go shopping after my appt on monday. no visible bump for me yet, but i'm excited for it to show up!

@jhd: Mine told me he only updates it if its more then a week off.

@T.H.O.U.: good to know! i'm counting by the numbers that put me in the 2nd tri tomorrow though haha

@jhd: chances are you'll go past due date so this way if you keep old date baby will be more likely to be "on time" lol
eggplant / 11408 posts
@jhd: maybe? That would be nice! 5 days seems like a lot to be measuring ahead, but who knows. They moved mine back when I was 8 weeks because I was consistently measuring 2 days behind. So far, that seems to be really accurate.
watermelon / 14206 posts
@jhd: My ultrasound puts my 4 days later, but it wasn't enough for them to adjust the date. So, I'm still edd at April 6.
coconut / 8079 posts
@LovelyPlum: i wasn't charting so don't know, but maybe i ovulated early?? anyway i have a second ultrasound & ob appt on mon so we'll see.
cantaloupe / 6171 posts
@jhd: my ultrasounds have all had me measured at different dates: 4/21 on the first one, 4/19 at the second, and 4/18 at the 3rd. it's all basically a guestimate early on, i think, since the baby is so little that millimeters make a difference. plus, there was a study that came out this summer showing normal gestation can range anywhere from 37 to 42 weeks

@LovelyPlum: yes! hoping it brings a little more energy & a little less nausea!! felt great yesterday am but then in the evening got a terrible headache and lots of nausea. trying to think positive that maybe things will improve soon!
coconut / 8079 posts
@nana87: thanks. that is helpful. so many things i've never even thought about before!
apricot / 335 posts
@jhd: My due date was April 13, but this last time she told me I was measuring two days ahead, but rather than say April 11 she said April 10, so I am not sure if the date was a mistake or the days, so I am going to wait until my 20 week to ask them.

@T.H.O.U.: thanks for the list and due dates! awesome.
my bloat comes and goes. i'm feeling less bloated these days and feeling a firmer bump when i press my abdomen. but overall, no one can really tell. i'm wearing my pre-pregnancy pants today with the band that goes over the clasp because i don't button them anymore (it's doable, but too uncomfortable). so while there's no definite "baby bump", i can tell things have changed.

@SupernovaJ: Thanks for the recipe (and for making me drool!) that looks amazing!!
@T.H.O.U.: That list is awesome! Thanks for putting it together! I had been wondering where exactly everyone was at
I just got back from maternity pant shopping... Kohls had the saddest two racks of clothes I have ever seen, so we went up to destination maternity (motherhood, pea in a pod, etc all in one store- do you girls have those?) and scoooored! I got 4 pairs of pants/jeans!
apricot / 335 posts
@T.H.O.U.: Ooo thanks for the new list. I really like it! I think my doctor might be changing my due date today
@jill_a55: Glad you found some clothes! Herberger's has a sad section of maternity clothing as well.
eggplant / 11408 posts
@jill_a55: yay! That's where most of my clothes are from, and they are COMFY
I had a realization today: I'm due in exactly SIX MONTHS!! Eek!
wonderful clementine / 24134 posts
@LovelyPlum: Holy cow! Only 6 more months!
I have a HUGE to do list!
eggplant / 11408 posts
@T.H.O.U.: @luckypenny: I KNOW. And I think I scared DH with how little time is left. We've got a TON to do.
The crazy thing is, six months ago tomorrow is when I first found out I was pregnant for the first time, and six months ago Friday was when I lost that baby. I can't believe how fast the last six months have gone. They are all just like one long stream-of-consciousness memory, and now we are here. If the speed of the last six months is any indication of the next, I'm in big time trouble! But I'm trying to slow down and enjoy a bit more now

We went to visit my family this weekend, and told my brother and sister-in-law the big news! And then had my 4-year old niece break the news to some of our closest family friends, since what could possibly be a cuter way to announce then a gorgeous preschooler saying "guess what?! I'm going to have a new cousin very soon!" We're going to see them again in December, right after my 20 week anatomy scan, so I might just need to get a video of her saying that again and make that our FB announcement
Also while I was home my mom and I went to a store to look at strollers and then she bought me some maternity clothes, including my first official pair of maternity jeans! Mommy-shopping spree ftw!

Ugh...heartburn has begun. I had tons with S and she had tons of hair, so that old wive's tail was exactly right for me! I blame my husband...his hair grows fast, lol. I was a bald baby, lol. I guess this kid will have DH's hair, too, lol.
wonderful clementine / 24134 posts
@Dandelion: Oh man! I love my Papaya Seed Enzymes for heartburn. I've been having it a bunch too!
I remember one night in my last pregnancy I woke up in TEARS with heartburn. It hurt so bad my husband was about to take me to the ER. Luckily after about an hour and some apple juice I was able to relax some. Ugh, not looking forward to that>!
watermelon / 14206 posts
@T.H.O.U.: Zantac was my hero with S. I've already stocked up on it, lol. I had a feeling I'd be getting the heartburn, soon, lol
eggplant / 11408 posts
@nana87: that's so awesome! How sweet about your niece. And enjoy your new comfy clothes
@jhd: doooo ittttt. Seriously, best decision ever.
@Dandelion: I have acid reflux, so it has never stopped for me. But if it's about to get worse, then ugh I do take Zantac every day, though, so hopefully that will keep it (mostly) in check!
@T.H.O.U.: it can be so painful! Hopefully it doesn't get too bad for you this time around.

so I'm telling the first one of my dissertation advisors that I'm pregnant in 45 minutes...I am so nervous! I'm sure she'll be supportive, but eeeek, this is really happening!
wonderful clementine / 24134 posts
@nana87: Yea! I am so ready to tell people because I can't wait for this to feel real!

@nana87: i hope it went well!
i had my first pair of pants not fit this am. it made me excited actually! not many options for shopping where i live but plan to check out some maternity pants after my appt mon morning!
cantaloupe / 6171 posts
@T.H.O.U.: @jhd: thanks!! It went SO well, I'm so relieved! She was really warm and supportive. Plus, she told me the absolute horror story of how her department handled her first pregnancy when she was a grad student in the 1960s--OMG I am so glad things have changed so much!!
@jhd: yay for pants not fitting, lol! I caught dh staring at my bump today, which was totally adorable

I have a question...when does a baby shower typically take place? I am not planning my own shower, but my friend, who doesn't have kids yet and is about as clueless as I am, told me to let her know when it is appropriate and then give her a date. I know I want to wait until after we find out the gender, of course and before the baby is actually here. I see most people wait until week 30 or later, but does 10 weeks really give you enough time to gather up last minute things? I think as a first time mom I would be frazzled to have that limited of time just because our only outlet to shopping is 75 miles away.
wonderful clementine / 24134 posts
@megz06: 10 weeks still gives you over two months even if babe comes a bit early.
That said I have seen showers before 30 weeks especially if the mom has to travel.
grapefruit / 4582 posts
@megz06: I did mine February 11 and I was due April 12. Gave me plenty of time to do shopping and I also wasn't too huge yet lol.
coconut / 8079 posts
@megz06: I have only been to one shower that was earlier than 30 weeks & that's because the hostess had her heart set on a Christmas themed shower! The mom to be ended up with tons of blankets & other warm items but her baby wasnt due til March.
eggplant / 11408 posts
@nana87: I'm SO glad that it went well! I was terrified to tell mine, but they've been totally awesome

Ladies, I have been SO HUNGRY today! Maybe making up for all the weeks of feeling sick & not eating enough.
wonderful clementine / 24134 posts
@jhd: yea! Hopefully you are feeling better and can enjoy food again
