@Dandelion: just saw my first april announcement for the 21st. They aren't really friends anymore, just people I know from my hometown.

@megz06: I posted on the appointment thread, but I got my flu shot yesterday. I had never had one either. I'm going to be honest with you...The shot was not bad, it didn't hurt until about 5 seconds afterwards it started burning a little and then throbbed the rest of the day. Today I'm fine... just a tiny bit noticeable.
@luckypenny: I'm still not needing maternity clothes, but I did buy some full panel jeans at target this week. I'm thinking one day soon, my jeans will be unbearable all of a sudden.
The check out lady asked me "How's the baby?" as she scanned my jeans and that kinda took me by surprise a little. Kinda forward of her... haha! I guess I'll get used to it eventually... When there's a belly, I'm sure people will be all sorts of forward.
@jhd: Hope that packing is going well!
@Dandelion: I know one of my good friends is due in February, she announced forever ago. Other than her, there hasn't been much action. All my friends are already done having kids or just had one. But I am weird and still haven't announced to anyone, except family, and a couple friends I've hung out with lately.

Even though it's obvious to me and my dh that I'm pregnant and have a nice bump, most people are still oblivious. I thought for sure my son's dad or step mom would have noticed when I met them yesterday for him to go to their house for the weekend. But nope. It's still hideable. Even though I wasn't really trying to.

@PEAPIE: haha well I guess the maternity pants clued her in. Still pretty rude though!

@Dandelion: It just kinda freaks me out when cashiers read into purchases... Like, when I buy brownie mix, ice cream and a box of tampons at the grocery store, you KNOW they're thinking "Poor girl" BUT they never say it out loud.
grapefruit / 4582 posts
@LovelyPlum: haven't worn them yet! Luckily everything still fits but it's only a week or two away for me before I have to say goodbye to my old ones lol
I just had my first stranger ask if I was pregnant. It was a girl who makes my post workout smoothies at the gym. It kind of took me by surprise but I guess now that I'm 4 months along I should get used to it happening more!

so I went to a wedding last night and wasn't planning on telling anyone there, or at least only telling one or two people discretely, but it turns out another girl I went to college with is due in April as well! It was a really sweet surprise, and fun to be able to share the news!
also, since I was complaining a few days ago about not fitting into my dresses for the wedding--I ended up going to this really cute maternity store and buying a dress that doesn't make me look too bumpy now but will be really cute with a bump very soon. so nice to feel more comfortable! I am absolutely loving maternity clothes

We are moving in 2 weeks & leaving our current church where my husband has been for 8 years & I have been for the last 3 since we've been married. I'm so excited because we are moving to the same town as my parents (right now they are over an hour away) but it's hard to say goodbye to people. I teach Sunday school and this morning the kids surprised me with a mini shower / going away party. It was so sweet and made me cry! We hadn't announced out pregnancy but the ladies I teach with got the word out this week & organized a basket. All the kids brought little things for baby or for me. It made me feel so special and I still feel a little overwhelmed all these hours later! just wanted to share some happy news after all my weeks of complaining about being sick! Lol

I'm feeling baby move more and more now. Its nice to have that reassurance. Anyone else starting to feel flips yet?
apricot / 335 posts
@jhd: Aww that is so sweet. Hopefully you can get back to visit them sometime.
@Dandelion: I feel little flutters every once in a while on my left side, but nothing more than usual. I am not sure exactly what I am looking for though either. I just know these flutters feel different than anything else.
I had a terrific weekend. Long story short, DH had a surprise planned for 6 months for me and even made sure to take off work for me on Friday. I had no idea he was planning anything for me. He took me to MN to see Wicked on Friday, which was awesome. Saturday he took me to Mall of America to shop for anything I wanted, so I was able to hit up some maternity stores and buy some amazing stuff. I had Cheesecake Factory for dinner, and then my ultimate surprise was tickets to see Josh Groban, my all time favorite singer. I almost died. I am pretty sure baby at one point almost came flying out with me jumping all around, lol.
It was a fantastic weekend, and DH was so selfless. He made it all about me, and I couldn't ask for a more caring and wonderful husband. So blessed

@PEAPIE: that's happened to me a few times this past week. It's weird that people can now know without me telling them. Not used to it yet!
@nana87: that's awesome! I'm glad that it went so well. And yay for a cute dress. Maternity clothes are seriously the best.
@jhd: that is so sweet! What a great surprise for you. I agree, moving is exciting, but leaving people is really hard. I had a hard time when we left our last church...everyone threw us a party, and I definitely cried.
@Dandelion: I'm feeling something! Only when I'm laying down, though. It mostly feels like bubbles, but I think baby may have kicked/run into my bladder over the weekend, though. It very much surprised me! DH's new favorite game is to tickle my stomach and make the baby move. He can't feel baby yet, but it makes him endlessly happy. Silly boys.
@megz06: oh my gosh, what a great surprise! Nice job, DH! Glad you got a weekend to feel pampered
As for me, I'm feeling a little bit better, but I think I'm having some blood pressure issues. I almost fainted while cantoring at church yesterday...not my finest hour. Feeling better today, but it's disorienting!

@Dandelion: i haven't felt anything yet but i can't wait for that! that is so exciting!
@megz06: what an awesome weekend! and wow i'm impressed your DH could work out all the details AND keep it a surprise for that long! i lived in minneapolis for grad school and the mall of america is fun!
@LovelyPlum: glad you are feeling better & hope the bp issues improve. fainting = not fun!

@Dandelion: eek that must be so exciting to feel definite baby movements. i'm 15 weeks in and i *think* i might feel things here and there, but the movements are so subtle i keep thinking it's gas or something. i may be reading too much into it, but it does feel like slight bubbling or light popping sensations. i think it's still too early for me to tell - maybe after 16 weeks i'll have more confidence it's the baby.

@megz06: awww what a sweet thing for your DH to do
@LovelyPlum: I always get low blood pressure issues when pregnant. It's awful. I have to make sure I always have water and almonds/fruit on me because I've almost fainted a ton. Ugh.
I have my 16 week appointment on Wednesday. I'm so excited to hear baby's heartbeat again

@Dandelion: I feel little movements here and there.. yesterday I swore up and down that I got kicked twice, but I think I'm imaging things. lol
@megz06: That is so awesome of your DH to do!! what a fun weekend!!
@luckypenny: I have mine on Thursday, and it can't get here soon enough! 16 weeks today!
@LovelyPlum: I've had a few almost fainting moments also, and some where I have just been completely off balance. craziness! It is not a good feeling at all!
cherry / 103 posts
@jhd: That was nice of them!
@Dandelion: No movement for me yet. I can't wait until I can feel something.
@LovelyPlum: Hope you feel better soon!
@megz06: How thoughtful. I'm normally the one to plan surprises,so, I don't see DH going that far.
@luckypenny: @jill_a55: Yay for hearing baby!
For me, first tri fatigue gave way to second tri hunger and RLP. I'm hanging in there, though. Our weekend was spent window shopping/researching baby stuff. Hope everyone has a good week.

Can everyone please describe their round ligament pain?
I need to find out if what I experienced yesterday was normal. I always wake up stiff and uncomfortable, but yesterday I had some pinching in my pelvic region when I would bend down or side to side. It is ok today, and it hasn't happened, but I need to know what may be normal or not. I looked online and it said it should be ok unless I am bleeding or the pain was become unbearable.

How is everyone doing today? I thought I should update you all on my adventures... sorry if I'm repeating from the other thread!
So I mentioned that I almost passed out again on Sunday. It's been happening a bit more now that I am pregnant, and I thought it might be a good idea to call my doctor and at least let them know what's up. Turns out that was the right instinct, because they want me to get an EKG and an echo, as well as send me for a cardiology consult. Apparently, this is routine for this office for multiple instances of blood pressure issues, but of course, that didn't prevent me from freaking last night. But, I'm feeling better this morning, thank goodness.
Moral of the story: pregnancy is crazy.

So I had a big day yesterday...I made it through almost the entire day without Zofran....woo hoo! I would say the entire day, but I was too nauseous to sleep, so I took one at night. Getting better!
cantaloupe / 6171 posts
@LovelyPlum: that's really scary about the blood pressure issues, but great about the doctor being responsive, and also less nausea!
@megz06: what an awesome surprise from your dh! that's fantastic!
@jhd: that's adorable that your kids did that!
@Dandelion: no baby movements yet, I can't wait!
I've been getting really bad gas pains lately, usually after dinner which I think must be because I eat too much--I'm really good at eating small frequent meals during the day, but it's so much harder at dinner, especially if we're eating with other people, like last night we went out to dinner with my dad. Sooo not fun, but I guess better than straight up nausea? I went had gone about 10 days without vomiting and then on Friday puked multiple times (though not since then, fingers crossed...), so at least it's getting less frequent, right?
grapefruit / 4582 posts
@nana87: ugh multiple times in a day?! I hope that gets better for you soon!
I just started throwing up first thing in the mornings and I'm 16 weeks...WHAT THE WHAT? Ughh also so excited for my 16 wk appt today
cantaloupe / 6171 posts
@luckypenny: hooray for your appointment, but booo I'm sorry it's starting for you now! and ugh yeah, it was baaaad! Not the first time I threw up at all--that's been pretty regular--but the first time it had been that bad since earlier in the first tri. I won't get into too many details, but suffice it to say, I was out in public...gross...
apricot / 344 posts
@LovelyPlum: The fainting/blacking out stuff is scary! I didn't reply to your EKG (ECG) post because I've never had one while pregnant or for pregnancy reasons but I had to have them yearly as I was growing up because I have a hole in my heart! But in general, they're no big deal as far as procedure goes. I remember being in my awkward teenage years and feeling uncomfortable with a bunch of people seeing my bear chest! Hah. I do hope they're able to solve the case on your fainting issues though. And hope it's simple to fix. Thinking about you! I know that must be scary. Do you drive/operate machinery(?) a lot?

@luckypenny: Throwing up, NOW? I hope it's short lived. What the heck... Have a good appointment!!!!

Gosh, I did something funny and so "pregnant lady" yesterday, but now I can't for-the-life-of-me remember what it was!
I guess THAT'S pregnant lady of me.
coconut / 8079 posts
@PEAPIE: that's funny!
@luckypenny: hope you feel better & the sickness doesn't last
@nana87: I'm embarrassed to say I have freaked out more than once about pain only to figure out a little while later it was only gas!!
@LovelyPlum: yay for a day without Zofran! I have only been needing it in the evenings lately & yesterday didn't need any!
grapefruit / 4582 posts
@Dandelion: well I only get sick first thin in the morning and the episodes were two days apart. I feel fine the rest of the day. Who knows lol I'm so out of touch with my body these days
apricot / 335 posts
@HazelEyes: Exciting! I can't wait until it gets to the point where you know for sure that it is baby kicking because then all these little flutters and spasm things that we think are movement will be confirmed because I feel stuff a lot at night when I am relaxing on the couch, and I am sure it is baby, but it is always on the opposite side I heard the heartbeat.

Happy Monday, ladies! Hope you all had a great weekend. I was away for the weekend at my cousin's wedding, and it was fabulous! It was such a fun weekend, but I was so sore on Sunday-I think I may have danced a little too much on Saturday
At 16w5d, we are now officially out in the open! We decided not to do a FB announcement, but we told all of our family friends at the wedding, which was so, so much fun. Our close friends and family have known for a while, but now pretty much everyone we want to know, knows. It's crazy that it's not a secret anymore!
apricot / 335 posts
@LovelyPlum: Glad everyone was happy and supportive. It makes it all the more realistic when its out there.
Hope you all had a great weekend as well. I went shopping with two of my gf's. The one, who is my BFF, is super baby crazy, and now that I'm pregnant she's using me as an excuse to purchase tons of baby stuff. Most of it is gender neutral, and she said if I have a boy, I get all the boy stuff and same for a girl, lol. Otherwise, the rest will go away for whenever she has kids. She bought like 5 outfits, 2 blankets, bibs, and some onsies. I bought a hooded bath towel and the first set of onsies.
I told DH that in a few weeks he should be able to press his ear to my stomach and listen to the baby's heartbeat, according to my app. He wanted to try last night, so I laid on the couch and he listened. He said, "All I hear is gurgle, gurgle." Lol.
Then he went, "Hi baby, it's your Daddy. I love you, little baby." It was seriously the most adorable thing ever. The St. Bernard felt left out, so he came and sat his head on my tummy, gave DH a slobbery kiss then me, and then decided his bone was more important, lol. Love my little family!
eggplant / 11408 posts
@megz06: I love that so much! My goofy DH loves to make the baby kick by tickling/blowing raspberries into my stomach. He is also super sweet with baby, too, and loves to give baby kisses and put his head on my stomach. We keep telling our dog that the baby is coming, which makes her run to the door, lol. Not quite, little one, but soon! Isn't it the best?
