@luckypenny: it will be sad, but I'm super excited for you that your family has this opportunity.

@megz06: sorry for the family drama but good to know that DH is helping you get through it. Hopefully it will sort itself out.
@dandelion: sorry about failing the glucose test but it's better that you know and they can monitor you. Just found out another gf of mine who is pregnant also failed and she needs to be on a strict diet and have her blood check 4x a day!?
@nana87: so excited but nervous about having a baby and a toddler to take care of at the same time...
@lovelyplum: we are going to have a boy!!!

@Dandelion: Total bummer you failed But it must be a relief to have the monitoring! I have my glucose test tomorrow, can't wait to be past that one!
@megz06: Sorry about your MIL, hopefully your DH will be able to help get everything sorted out though!!
@luckypenny: that is quite a move, but I'm sure it will be a great adventure!
@nana87: Sorry about all the travel and delivery snafus! That has to be so frustrating... our crib came damaged, but luckily it was not major.
@lovelyplum: Hope recovery goes smoothly for your hip! That sounds painful!!
@MrsSpadusa: Hope baby girl keeps cooking in there as long as possible!!
@Ctran: Can't believe you know the exact day you will meet your LO, that seems so crazy to me!!
I hit third trimester on Monday (28weeks... is that what everyone goes by?) and feel like time is just flying by now!! My shower invites went out on Monday and someone already purchased off our registry! I have a feeling I am going to be a terrible registry stalker Anyone else a creeper or am I the lone stalker on that one?

Has anyone's doctors put them on travel restrictions for the final two months? I'm going to ask my dr. tomorrow, but I remember at an early appointment he said I'd have to stay within two hours of the hospital for the last two months...

@jill_a55: congrats on hitting the third trimester!! I feel like this pregnancy has already flown by but now it will go even faster!!
My dr won't let me travel at all but that is because I'm being closely monitored given my preterm labor last time. I have heard of travel restrictions in the last trimester for normal pregnancies. When is your shower? That is so exciting.
apricot / 448 posts
@Ctran: Oh okay, I've heard of like the last month (or maybe just assumed it was the last month) so I was kind of surprised to be told that.. I was planning a trip to California for the last weekend in Feb. and realized I couldn't go! I've had a completely normal pregnancy so far, but this is my first so who knows.
My shower is Feb. 8th!
eggplant / 11408 posts
@Ctran: oh yay! Another boy!!!
@jill_a55: yay for third tri! And yes, I will stalk But no, I haven't been given restrictions yet. I don't plan on going far after the beginning of March, though. And yay for a shower date!
We set my shower date for March 1. I have to admit, I'm getting excited
@luckypenny: looks like we need an updated due date/gender list with more people finding out what they're having!

@jill_a55: I am sure I will be a terrible registry stalker! And my dr told me travel restrictions at my very first appt: no flying after 32 weeks, and stay w/in 1 hour after 36 weeks
olive / 70 posts
@Dandelion: I'm sorry you failed! But glad that you get the extra monitoring to make you more comfortable. I was just diagnosed with GD on Sunday so I can relate to your frustrations. Thankfully I'm diet controlled right now with taking sugars 4 x's per day. How are they managing yours?
@jill_a55: don't worry- I stalk my registry almost daily! It's horrible, lol!
On a side note- please send prayers and positive thoughts me and my baby's way. Was admitted to the hospital again tonight because my right upper abdominal pain worsened and I have slightly elevated liver function tests. The doctors want to rule out preeclampsia but just can't right now especially since they can't find anything else to explain the pain. Hopefully more answers in the morning!

@MrsSpadusa: oh no! I hope pre-e stays far far away!
I go wednesday to the diabetes clinic to figure out what the plan is.

@Stacy: congratulations! There are a ridiculous number of April mamas expecting boys. Also, feel free to check out the other April posts and share there too, if you're comfortable:

@MrsSpadusa: oh no! Stay away, pre-e. That's a lot for one mama to handle!
Embarrassing question for the morning: have you ladies noticed that things are more...pungent...than normal? I have had wicked gas on and off, and I knew that was going to get more smelly, but even going #2 and the constant vaginal discharge I have just smell so...strong. Is this another lovely gift from the third trimester?

Hi all,
I'm several pages behind! I'm hoping to catch up, but wanted to say hi to everyone. I skimmed a little and a few things that stuck out for me was that I LOVED Baby Bargains. We have used it for just about everything from our bedroom set to carseat to mattress choices. I registered on Babyli.st too, and my shower invites just went out this week and already two people bought stuff! how fun! I figure I can add stuff to another registry after the fact and get a discount as needed.
As for flying--I"my flying this weekend (at 30 weeks) to see my parents for the long weekend. I was originially going to try and go President's Wknd in February and my OB said, "sure you can go. If you are ok with posisbily having your baby in Florida." Um ok! MLK weekend it is! I did have her write me a note saying I"m ok to fly, though. She said sometimes airlines give moms a hard time and sometimes not, so I"m happy to have the note.

@LovelyPlum: omg, yes!!!!! I dont know what is going on in there, but I feel like my smells are waaay different.
eggplant / 11408 posts
@HazelEyes: OK, good! I mean, not good, but I was starting to wonder what was wrong with me. And my pup notices, too-she keeps sticking her head in my crotch and snorting, like "Mama, you smell!" Thanks, girl, like I didn't know that already

@LovelyPlum: OMG my dog (a Saint Bernard) does the SAME thing! He only started after I became pregnant, but has become increasingly worse in the past month. It's slightly embarrassing because he's a dog and doesn't know to not do it in front of guests that come over, lol, so I am sitting there trying to get him away from me, and because of his size, it's quite difficult.
On a less gross note, he often bumps my belly with his nose, and I'm not sure if its because he's trying to "get it out of the way" so he can see me when he looks up at me lol or if he is acknowledging the baby.
eggplant / 11408 posts
@megz06: LOL, the pups are so silly. That is so sweet about yours! I bet it's a combination of the two
Mine has become my shadow. She has been clingy from the beginning, but she is constantly *thisclose* to me now. It's both endearing and completely annoying. Last night, I had to get up and pee, and she came and laid down in the bathroom when I did-she's never done that before. Then later, she snuck in right behind me while I was washing my hands, and I stepped on her when I turned. I am apparently officially not allowed out of her sight ever...unless, of course, she decides that it's OK

Quick update. 28 weeks tomorrow....time is flying. Baby Boy is doing well...won't stay still at all which I love. Registry is done and I have been told Baby Shower Invitations have gone out. Now, it's really just organizing everything in our 1 bedroom apt. Baby Class at Hospital is 2/1 so that will be done soon.
apricot / 335 posts
@LovelyPlum: Aww dogs are so sweet. So many people underestimate their intelligence and intuition.
@NY_Smiles: Lots of excitement! You will enjoy baby class. I went with a pretty open mind, and I learned a lot, and the fact that it is at your hospital hopefully your instructor gives you some insight as to how your doctor honors your birth plan.
apricot / 448 posts
@megz06: @LovelyPlum: My chihuahua has always been super needy, but she is a lot more snuggly with me than usual. Can't wait to see how she reacts to an actual baby!
I just went to target... everything is so cuuuuuuute! I bought an outfit for the baby and had to really control myself from buying anymore. My mom and I keep telling each other that we are lucky I am not having a girl, because we would be broke. There is way too much cute girl stuff!!!
@megz06: I haven't decided on a taking a birth class yet... I get really reeeeallly squeamish in hospitals and while listening to anyone talk about medical stuff. (like hearing about broken bones makes me nearly pass out) Not entirely sure how this whole labor and delivery thing will work out, but he's gotta get out some how!

I feel like I missed a lot this week, and I'm a little behind, but I'm thinking of you all who are dealing with any amount of drama or complication.
I'm being watched for pre-e right now due to a blood pressure increase and some protein in my urine at my last appointment. The dr is optimistic (my bp is still definitely in normal the normal range, but much higher than previously) that it could just be dehydration. So I've doubled my water intake and I'm hoping for the best when I go in for my 30-week appointment next week.
It is not easy to drink this much water when you teach for a 90 minute block! goodness.

@jill_a55: I'm obsessed with registry stalking. I feel like I update it all the time. Actually, I probably do update it daily. My shower is 2/1 and I'm traveling to the Philly area (where I'm originally from) but a few people have purchased and shipped gifts to our house, so we've got a few things already! It's so exciting and for some reason makes everything feel so real.

@NY_Smiles: yay for third tri! So exciting Our classes start 2/15.
@jill_a55: pups are so sweet! I can't wait to see ours with the baby, either! As far as the classes go, I'm not sure how much I'll actually learn about the actual birthing process, but I want to do one at our hospital to get accustomed to how they run things, how their procedures work, etc. That will make me feel better during the actual birth, I think.
@gilmoregirl: noooo.....I really, really hope that the water helps! I've recently discovered that drinking at least 96 oz. of water a day helps me to feel a lot better. Stay away, pre-e! // I also hear you on changing my registry. I do it all the time!
Are you all feeling baby constantly now? I have been, but then today I hadn't felt the baby move hardly at all. Then again, I was on my feet all day long. As soon as I sat down, though, baby started moving again. But it made me nervous!
olive / 70 posts
@LovelyPlum: my dog has been the same way! I always feel bad for yelling at him to move but I'm afraid I'm going to trip and fall with him being under my feet. It just started maybe two weeks ago and has of course worsened in the time that I was home from the hospital. He's a good boy though

@gilmoregirl: good luck and I hope things stay good for you and baby! Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers
@jhd: thank you!

So I had my glucose appointment today and won't know if I passed until Monday or Tuesday.. at least it's over with! I did get confirmation that I can't travel more that two hours away starting at 32 weeks though. boo.
@LovelyPlum: I have been getting quite the beating from the inside. He is quiet for the most part during the day when I am up and moving, I can feel him change positions though usually, and then when I lay down it is play time! haha guess I am just being prepped for the long nights to come..
eggplant / 11408 posts
@luckypenny: so it looks like you may not be the only one moving soon...we are having some landlord issues and may be moving in the next month. To say I'm frustrated and upset is a huge understatement, but it is probably better in the long run. It just sucks right now
grapefruit / 4582 posts
@LovelyPlum: ughhhh! Oh no!! It really is the worst feeling. All of my hormonal instincts are telling me to nest and instead I'm having to pack everything with no idea of where we will call home. It feels so unnatural and unsettling right now.
I have had landlord issues in the past and it is a terrible situation. I'd rather move now than have to move with newborn though so maybe its for the best that you are having problems with him/her now.
eggplant / 11408 posts
@luckypenny: you're so right about dealing with this now . It just sucks because we love where we live. But our original landlord sold to a new person, and within the last few weeks, somehow he can't stand us anymore. I have *no* idea what happened, but he completely flipped at DH last night, and we are both just done. I can't bring a baby here. They offered to let us out of the lease, which we didn't want to do. BUT, I'm pretty sure that they won't want to renew it at the end of spring, when it is up, so I guess er are in the market early. Might as well do it before the screaming little one arrives, if I can.
I just feel so hurt and blindsided by the whole thing I know in the end, it is just stuff in the space, and we make it home. But it is my home, and somehow it feels less so this morning.
Sorry for the vent
watermelon / 14206 posts
@LovelyPlum: @LovelyPlum: we're moving soon, too...but peobably afyer LO is here. Last year we were hpuse hunting while I was 9 months pregnant but once we lost S we just resigned a lease at a new place. Now we're BACK to gouse hunting and I'm hugely checking outtheae places again lol. We can't even really look until end of Feb because we have to get our finances ready to go. So we'll be moving in April which will be after LO gets here but we'll still be in newborn mode. Yikes!
watermelon / 14206 posts
@LovelyPlum: that really sucks. Landlord issues are a real pain
You know you can put off breaking the lease...you're within your levalrights. You can plan to move after LO gets there if it'll help. I wouldn't break the lease until you find a good place. Don't rush because of shady landlords.
eggplant / 11408 posts
@Dandelion: yeah, we are not going to rush. I just figure we will start looking now and see what happens. The only thing is that financially, it would be easier for us sooner rather than later, so we have to consider that. Maybe I'll be calmer after I've made some phone calls. I just don't want these people messing with us anymore.
And how exciting-and stressful-about house hunting! I hope you find a good one. Are you looking to stay in the same area?
watermelon / 14206 posts
@LovelyPlum: We're in SC now, a little south of Charlotte...we want to be on the northern edge of Charlotte, so it's about an hour away from here where we're looking. I do love SC, but his work is closer there and is planning on moving even more north in a few years, so we want to just get up there and be established.

I think I have an ear infection! I've never had one, but it's oozy, and my ear feels weird. Painful at times, too. I guess I'm gonna run to urgent care at some point today and have it checked out.
