@NY_Smiles: congratulations!! He's beautiful
@Dandelion: that's awesome. I'm glad they're coming in handy!
@MrsKoala: I'm still here, but I definitely feel weird-like the contractions are changing. They're lower and just feel different somehow. I'm so, so hopeful that it's soon!

@Dandelion: Velcro makes everything easier! DD loooooved being swaddled. I swear we swaddled her until she was like 5 or 6 months lol. We liked the Swaddleme blanket but had to switch and kind of make up our own because she was a houdini getting her arms out of everything lol

Went for a walk today to the next town over (1.5 miles) since MIL has DD. Did some shopping, had lunch by myself and relaxed. All was good until my walk home. Had to call DH to come pick me up because I had the worst pain in my stomach. I knew it wasn't contractions because it was lasting for like 4 minutes. It stopped as soon as I layed down when I got home. I guess baby just didn't like all the bouncing from walking. Although I was really hoping it was. DH and I DTD this AM so I thought a walk might help things along too. I'm due tomorrow and I'm SO READY to meet baby

@luckypenny: I'm sorry that you were in pain. I hear you on being ready to meet this baby! I have been walking like crazy and trying to get these contractions to regulate. Hoping we both go soon!

Hi everyone
It's been a while since I last posted but just wanted to share that our little baby boy, Jackson Reid was born on mar 28 via scheduled c section. I'm recovering ok but it's been more difficult not being able to spend as much time with DD.
best wishes to the remaining April mamas! Congrats to everyone else who are enjoying their little precious bundles!

I'm feeling a lot better this week and a little hopeful that my increased energy means baby boy is coming soon! he has been measuring ahead this whole pregnancy so I'm really hoping he won't make me wait all the way til my due date the only things left on my to do list are a little more laundry for baby and stock up on groceries/make some freezer meals.

We're doing great here. I'm takung my meds reguarly and I'm healing really well. I even have some codine for my cough so it doesn't feel like my abs are ripping apart. My incision looks really good.
M is a dream baby. He goes to the pediatrician in the morning for his first check up.

@Ctran: congratulations!!
@Dandelion: I love to hear this Enjoy those cuddles!
@jhd: enjoy your half day!
I'm a wreck this morning but trying really hard to keep everything in perspective. After my power walk I had contractions last night every 3 and a half to 5 minutes for over 5 hours, but it all amounted to nothing. They were low, like period cramps, and they came in waves. Nothing helped them-Tylenol, heating pad, hot shower-and I really, really, really thought this was it. DH is still getting over being really sick, though, so we tried to sleep a bit before calling the doctor. At about midnight, I felt like I was going to crawl out of my skin, so the plan was to take a bath as a last resort, then call and go. Lo and behold, the bath made them bearable, so I crawled back into bed....and woke up at 6:30 this morning. I was devastated-I never expected to make it through the night
I'm so frustrated because I really felt like last night could have been it. DH was trying to be calm and wait it out, and my mom advised the same thing, which led to me ugly-crying for about half an hour. I just don't know. I don't want to rush things-I really don't. Truly, though, I'm just not sure how much I trust my body right now, and now I'm second guessing my instincts as well. If we're honest, it kinda sucks.
The only good thing about not going into labor yesterday is that I'm supposed to go out to dinner tonight with a speaker from the department, and there is mango black rice sushi with my name on it. It's the little things, right?

@LovelyPlum: awww!! That sounds like a rough night. But look at you being all positive. Being pregnant these last few days really takes a toll - you want it to be over with but at the same time you just never know what to expect! I'm also feeling pretty discouraged - my induction is scheduled for Monday. I wanted a no-intervention yadda yadda and not force the baby out but due to my GD, they are inducing me a few days after 39 weeks (today was the original D-day but I talked them out of it). It's been so frustrating because the baby is not measuring large, my fluids are fine and my blood pressure is low. But they are treating me like a statistic nonetheless so then I feel terrible for questioning their medical expertise when I challenge them.. There's this guilt / fear that hangs over my head whenever they say they have to "protect this precious cargo" - but isn't that a given? What mom wouldn't want that? Sigh. So...yeah. I feel your frustrations!!
At least we know the end is in sight really really soon. In your case, I think you could probably "walk the baby out" - give it another try! My friend walked 10 miles the day she went into labor...I think her walking literally made her contractions consistent. Obviously her body was ready for it and the walking gave her that extra push. Sounds like your body is super ready too!

@LovelyPlum: aaww honey i'm so sorry. how frustrating! enjoy that sushi this evening and fx that baby comes very soon!

@jhd: thanks love
@SupernovaJ: I'm sorry, Mama I'm glad that you convinced them to wait until Monday. I hear you on wanting to do what's best for the baby, but at the same time, it's really hard! And after my crap-tastic experience at L+D on Monday, I really wanted to go in there and show them that I knew what I was talking about-ie, show up actually in labor and ready to go! Part of my frustration stems from the fact that I feel like everyone is trying to make me prove that I'm actually in labor before they'll do anything. I'm sure that's not true, but it feels that way. And while I love my mother to death, hearing "there just BH" this morning made me break down again, because they certainly didn't feel like *just* anything. I know she was trying to help and be practical, but listen-I was not interested in that.
Anyways, I hope that your baby shows up very soon. Any plans for your last weekend as a family of 2?

@LovelyPlum: you know ironically, we'll probably just sit at home for the baby to come. Lol. Nothing too thrilling. Actually we do have a wedding tomorrow evening which is so odd to think about - this whole time I thought we would not have been able to go because of the original induction date.
I think labor is right around the corner for you - that is such a crazy false alarm. FX for the real deal this weekend!!

M had his check up. He's gained back halfway back to his birth weight. Doctor said he's looking really good. We don't go back until he's a month old.
Going there sure wore him out. He's currently zonked out in his crib.
grapefruit / 4582 posts
@LovelyPlum: maybe take it easy on the walking? If the contractions aren't leading to anything your body is probably just trying to tell you to slow down. I think that's what happened to me yesterday and today. When I'm walking and up, I have contractions. When I lay down, they stop. And trust me, when you are in active active labor you are going to need your energy to get you through.

@Dandelion: yay for a good check up for baby m! hope you are able to get some rest too!
@SupernovaJ: hope you have a restful weekend! I know it's not how you planned, but still so exciting you get to meet baby on Monday!!
eggplant / 11408 posts
@luckypenny: maybe so? I actually walked yesterday because for the first time in a really long time, it felt GOOD to get outside and actually move around. I wasn't swollen, my hips didn't hurt, all was well. So I took advantage I hear you on listening to my body, though. If I'm honest, my body really wants me to stay home and rest, but that was not in the cards this week. Hopefully this weekend!
@Dandelion: good news! And yay for sleeping babies
@SupernovaJ: maybe you'll miss that wedding yet!

@SupernovaJ: you too lady how are you feeling? So monday is the big day?! I'm excited for you!
@LovelyPlum: hope you get some rest this weekend you deserve it after the week you've had!
@Dandelion: so happy to hear M is doing so well!
So DD is sick with a bad cough again. I'm a mess. She would only go back to sleep with me last night so I didn't get any sleep (she likes to sleep literally on top of me and my belly). So MIL insisted she come get her so I could rest but of course I'm feeling guilty about not being with her. My hormones are all over the place. I'm crying because what if I deliver this baby and have to keep E away from me and baby. What if that makes her sad and feel forgotten? What if I don't deliver this baby soon and I have to be pregnant until nearly 42 weeks again. I'm so tired. I just don't know
coconut / 8079 posts
@luckypenny: I'm so sorry DD is sick. I know it must be extra hard to be away from her right now. The next best thing to being with her mommy right now is being with her grandma! I'm glad your MIL can help out. Big hugs to you! and fx baby comes soon & little E recovers very quickly!!

@luckypenny: oh Mama Sweet E is getting some good grandma time in-you are not a bad Mama! She is not going to feel abandoned, and you are nit leaving her (says the girl who sobbed over the idea of leaving her puppy last night). I hope that you both get some rest!!
@jhd: ooh, whatcha watching? And glad to hear about the appointment!

@LovelyPlum: I've been watching Drop Dead Diva. Completely pointless and silly! I either watch that or Cake Boss (and I have seen all the episodes at least three times!) because I can't handle anything sad!!

@jhd: I'm more emotional towards tv shows bow that I was while I was pregnant. Pp hormones are whack lol.
