@dancingbee: @SunshineMcC: @Rockies11: @brownie: congrats and welcome!
Internet is pretty bad here so I haven't really been able to check in, scrolled thru to see the new April mamas. I will go back and catch up on everyone's messages once I'm off my phone. Hope everyone is doing well!!

@pawprints: congrats on the heartbeat! Do you think you could follow up with the practice to get more info on their message ? 109 seems great!
@windswept: thanks for the BD sharing!
@banana330: we had out first ultrasound at 5w5d, and didn't see a heartbeat, which our doc said was normal. Maybe you could move it back a few days so you have a better chance of seeing it.
We're off in 2 hours for our appt - nervous but excited!

@Rockies11: Welcome! We have the same due date (at least from what I'm guesstimating)
@brownie: Congrats and welcome!
@PawPrints: Woohoo for seeing the heartbeat! 109 does seem perfect. I didn't realize that the baby's heartbeat gets so much faster than the mom's. They're working so hard to grow!
@SunshineMcC: Good luck today!

@PawPrints: Congrats on seeing the heartbeat! So exciting! That heart beat seems normal, I asked if they could see how fast the heartbeat was going and my dr just said "it looks normal" and didn't give a number.
@Rockies11: @brownie: welcome! happy and healthy 9 months to you both!
@sunshinemcc: How did your appointment go?
apricot / 306 posts
@windswept: I'm the same! I want to tell my mom now too, but DH is hesitant. All our close friends and family are overseas so he says there is no reason to tell anyone early and wants to wait till 15 weeks to tell family and 20 weeks to tell friends! I dont mind waiting to tell most people, but I would love to have the early support from either my mom or my bff. I think I'm getting closer to convincing him

I know it's still so early but does anyone have any gut feeling on what they're having? I'm 7+1 and I had this gut feeling while driving the other day that we'll have a boy. Now just to wait another 3 months to find out

@lulu22: I hope you do convince him! It will be nice to have someone else know and be excited for us.

Appt went pretty well! We saw a heartbeat but it was just a flicker, but doc said still a heartbeat. Am actually measuring 6w1d, whereas his NP told me I'd be at 6w4d, so that was a little bit of a bummer, but it actually matches with the date of my LMP.
He was going to have us come back in 2 weeks, but given out history is going to bring us back in 1 week for peace of mind and to see a stronger heartbeat, so that makes me happy.
I decided to work from home this afternoon, so DH took me out to breakfast because I was "such a good patient!"
So more waiting. I know we're really fortunate to have weekly ultrasounds now, so am very grateful. Just can't wait until we're out of the woods and can shout it from the rooftops, and until I have a bump to match!

@Boopers: I don't have a gut feeling yet... but the other night I had two dreams that it was a boy... one was a dream about finding out in an ultrasound and the other was about changing his diaper! Also, the other day I got a pedicure and chose blue polish and then DH and I went out and I was wearing a blue sweater and blue earrings and DH was like "look at you, you never wear blue, you are totally carrying a boy". I tried to convince him it was just a coincidence but he wouldn't believe me. haha. maybe my subconscious is at work

@PawPrints: i would be FURIOUS if they gave me that message. i would definitely follow up for more of an explanation.
@SunshineMcC: eeee congrats on seeing the heartbeat! by next week it should be nice and strong and baby will be right on track
@Boopers: i TOTALLY have a gut feeling it's a girl. it's so weird because i always wanted boys.... but as soon as i got my bfp whevener i picture a baby or a nursery or DH with a baby or anything i think girl. we have a little friendly bet going... if it's a girl, i get to pick a girlie movie and he has to pay! and vice versa.
question to everyone: are you team green or are you finding out? do you have names in mind?
another question... does anyone else have CM? i have been having random cm and sometimes it feels quite heavy/thick. i often panic because i think it's blood and run to the bathroom. is cm is the first trimester normal or should i be worried? don't wanna google it while i'm at work!

@SunshineMcC: Yah for seeing the heartbeat! And getting to see it again next week.
I can't wait for my ultrasound next Thursday. I really want to see the heartbeat and get accurate dating done.
@Boopers: No instinct yet. I was pretty sure I was having a girl with DD, but I'm not sure if that was because I couldn't imagine having a boy or if I really thought I was having a girl.
I'm not sure what I want this time. We aren't 100% sure we will have a third, so I kinda want to have a boy, but on the other hand, I really want DD to have a sister and to be able to reuse all the baby clothes we have...bottom line, I'll be happy with either.

@loki: So not team green. We found out at a 13 week ultrasound last time. I have no idea how I am going to be able to wait until 20 weeks this go around. And yeah, we already have a name. It's the same whether it's a boy or a girl (will have different middle name depending on gender). Which is kinda cool that the baby already has a name.
pear / 1787 posts
@NeekieRose: ya i could not be team green, i'm such a planner. we pretty much have our names picked too but i feel like i'm missing out on reading the baby name books etc... we just did all that stuff really early haha . i'm horrible at secrets too and feel like i'm gonna tell everyone before he/she is born! haha.
apricot / 306 posts
@loki: Yes! I have lots of CM! With the exception of the 2 days which I had a tiny bit of light brown spotting, I've had pretty constant watery/milky CM every day. And yes, I am constantly rushing to the bathroom to check for blood! Sometimes it feels like a LOT especially if I'm out for a brisk walk. Apparently its completely normal and actually healthy... it's called leukorrhea you can read about it here: http://www.whattoexpect.com/pregnancy/symptoms-and-solutions/vaginal-discharge.aspx
pear / 1787 posts
@lulu22: you are my hero! thank you so much! i feel better now... i was so worried cuz sometimes it feels like my normal mid cycle CM and i'm like wtffff and i start to doubt my pregnancy hahaha. it doesn't take much to make me unstable.
persimmon / 1386 posts
@loki: We had our names picked out a long time ago, before we were even married we referred to our future children as x and y. Both names could work for a boy or girl, although they both are identified with one gender over the other. I love that we already have this picked out and don't have to stress out about the names. And if people don't like them, we don't really care because we have known for a long time that these are the names. Now if we do end up having a third, that will require more research. Ha

@NeekieRose: My ultrasound is next Thursday too! I'm so nervous and excited

@NeekieRose: I'm so curious what the names are
I totally understand if you don't want to share though so no worries.
@dancingbee: I'm so jealous of you early ultrasounders!

@dancingbee: So nervous! I am hoping once we see the heartbeat I can get a little relief....
Now if only I could get a some relief from this nausea. I really forgot how crappy it makes me feel.

@loki: We are Team Green! By request of DH. He feels really strongly about not finding out, so I figured I would throw him a bone
At first I hated the idea, but now I'm kind of excited! I do feel like I'm having a girl, but that may be because there are all girls in my family and no one can picture me with a boy, lol. But I'll be so happy with either! We haven't picked names out yet - we might end up having a few options and then pick when we meet LO. But I might freak out once we get to the discussion and need to make a decision!

@NeekieRose: I agree. I feel like I'll be holding my breath until that moment.

@loki: I've shared both of them on other threads in the past, so it's not that big of a deal. Ryan and Reagan. DD is Reagan Rose and this baby will either be Ryan Warner or Ryan ?? pending gender. I actually love Ryan for a girl, which is another reason why I am kinda hoping for a girl...

@dancingbee: I love the idea of team green, I just could not do it! Not knowing would make the day so exciting!

@dancingbee: My sister was team green and loved it. I just don't know how people do it! I can't stand not knowing things.

@NeekieRose @Loki : I'm not sure how I'll be able to stand it either! There are moments when I feel like I might try to change DH's mind but I'm trying to stay zen about it
Lol!

@brownie: Congrats and welcome! We are due date twins!! I also go to an RE so we have that in common too! I'd love to hear a little about your journey, but only if you feel inclined to tell it of course!

@loki: We're going to be Team Green! I've always wanted to be and luckily DH is on board. No gut feeling yet. I also have a list of names, but DH and I are waiting to discuss until the second trimester. I definitely have a top two for each sex and just hope he likes them!
And yes, tons of CM.

@NeekieRose: both so beautiful but i'm partial to Ryan for a girl... i LOVE it. but Reagan is so nice too... I knew a Reagan and she was lovely!
@windswept: haha glad i'm not alone, thanks for sharing everyone!

I have an update! I replied to the note I got about the "curious" 109 bpm heart rate, and got this back:
"I am the midwife on call today and am checking labs and answering emails and phone calls. Thanks for your email. You are right, 109 is a completely normal heart rate for this young a gestational age. We do often see it closer to 120, so that may be why [the nurse who emailed you yesterday] was a bit confused. I apologize for any concern this has caused you and am glad you brought it to our attention. Take care and let us know if you have any other questions."
Current mood: TRIUMPHANT. Score one for being the squeaky wheel.

Neither of us is capable of doing Team Green. We're impatient and will want to know ASAP.
Speaking of which, does anybody know how to put together one of those calendars that some of the other due date threads have, with everybody's name on their due date? I just thought of that because they often have team green or boy/girl next to the person's name.
pear / 1548 posts
@loki: we will be finding out. DH think it's a girl. We tried for a long time for this baby so we will be happy either way. I'm such a planner though and want to find out ASAP!
@PawPrints: so relieved that they answered you! That is great that they have an email service that you can use!

@loki: we could definitely not be team green, maybe if we have more than one lo. I think it's a girl, dh thinks it's a boy but I think he's just hopeful. We have a boys name picked out but no girl name right now
clementine / 957 posts
@PawPrints: we definitely need one of the calendars. Not sure how to make one though

Team green for sure! Though I have given sweetie the caveat that reading ultrasounds is part of my job.
I am fine with not looking while they're actually specifically scanning the genital area. But, if our fetus flashes us during another part of the scan, I may inadvertently find out.
Sweetie tried to suggest that I just not watch any of the ultrasounds...that earned a seriously dirty look. Committing to team green also means I'll have to refrain from scanning myself for fun/curiosity after about 16 weeks.

@loki: Definitely finding out! I'm too much of a planner not to. Waiting until 20 weeks is horrible though. My friend is paying $300 to send a blood sample to Canada to find out the sex at just 10 weeks. I'm tempted to consider it.

I get to join this board today!
Location: Texas
EDD: April 13th (my app says I'm 5 weeks along, estimator test says 1-2)
First?: Nope, this will be baby #2!
First appointment: I JUST found out tonight, no appointment yet!
Symptoms: missed period, cravings, fatigue, sore breasts, bleeding gums, stuffy nose
Who have you told?: just DH. It's so early & it feels so surreal I'm not sure when we will tell. I have trouble keeping secrets so I'm sure close family & friends will know soon
