@PawPrints: I'm not sure what you mean by calendar. I think we can just add in
beside names in the list above once people find out/ decide.
Speaking if which, I want to be team green and DH wants to know, so we have discussed him possibly finding out but keeping it to himself.
@lilyofthewest: that's awesome that you could read your own ultrasounds, you will be able to understand everything and know what they are looking for while the rest of us stare at the screen confused and amazed!

@As Time Goes By: Scroll down mid-way through this page, they have them on several of the other due date threads: http://boards.hellobee.com/topic/december-2014-moms/page/7
I just walled theotherstark to ask how she made that one.

@As Time Goes By: @windswept: thank you ladies! We got pregnant quicker than expected & I'm a little overwhelmed, feeling a little like I'm losing LO#1 (11 months) as my baby & a lot excited. I can't wait for my OB ' S office to open so I can schedule an appointment!
I'm thinking I would like to use a midwife this time around, anyone have any tips on finding one?
pear / 1787 posts
@marionberry: i'm in canada! i wonder if i can do that. although DH wants to wait until the 20 week appt because he feels like he wants some anticipation. which is odd because i'd be much more likely to lean team green than him. i'm trying to convince him if we have a second we should do it just so we have both experiences.
i think i'm starting to get my first real morning sickness... i've felt awful all morning blah. anddddd i can barely stand to walk my boobs are KILLING. also i'm a stomach sleeper and it's been miserable. i'm considering switching to exclusive sports bras haha. how's everyone else doing?

@SunshineMcC: Yay for the heartbeat.
this morning I started feeling a bit queasy after my coffee. I think I've only got at most a week until the morning sickness kicks in. hopefully it's not as bad as last time.
I think we'll probably find out, but not tell anyone. If we can keep it in! I feel like after everything I need to know.

@Mrs. Sunshine: I decided to start by picking where I wanted to give birth, instead of picking a specific midwife. I researched birth centers/hospitals and one place stood out as where I want to have the baby. When I looked at their list of midwives they all seemed great, so when I called to make my first appointment I had them just put me with the midwife that worked with my schedule. Hopefully I'll like her when we meet next month! The hospital also has a "meet the midwives" night where you tour the birth center and meet all of the midwives--maybe some places by you have a similar thing?
If you go with a midwife instead of an OB, will you deliver at the same place you had LO?

@loki: @banana330: sorry to hear you're feeling yucky, but in a way it's a good thing too, right? At our appt yesterday, the nurse said "nausea is good!" Ha!
@loki: I hear you on sore boobs, that's been my biggest symptom. I too am thinking about getting a new bra, but not sure if I should just go up a size or get something else. Anyone have advice on that?
We're definitely going to find out if it's a girl or boy!
@mrs. Sunshine: welcome and congrats! We can be sunshine buddies!!
@brownie: @Rockies11: welcome and congrats!
@pawprints: yay! SO happy you followed up and got that feedback. I'm glad you can relax (a bit!).
@neekierose: beautiful names!!! A gal I work with has a daughter named Ryan and I've always thought its so beautiful!
Updated due date over here: April 7; next apt is August 22. Struggling with when to tell our parents. I'd love their support and prayers but also want to have some more time and progress under the belt, too.

@windswept: good idea! I'm not opposed to going to a birthing center but I really really loved the nursing staff at the hospital I had LO at & I have a personal relationship with the head night nursery nurse there too & that was so helpful
pomegranate / 3658 posts
@Banana330: My queasiness seems to have something of a link to my coffee consumption, which is a shame because I've been so tired that I really need the morning caffeine. Right now I'm alternating sips of coffee and water, which helps a little.
@Mrs. Sunshine: Welcome! Personally, our decision to go with midwives was a pretty easy one, since we're lucky to live walking distance from a renowned midwife-run birthing center. They are IMO the perfect balance of approaching births with an intervention-free perspective, while still having a no-judgment offering of epidurals etc if you decide to go that way. It's also adjacent to a hospital in case anything goes wrong. Oh and they've got a jacuzzi tub!
We're going to tell immediate family this weekend, which is a HUGE step for us. Nobody has any clue we were TTC so they are all going to be pretty surprised. I'm so worried we're going to tell everyone and then miscarry like the next day, of course.

@PawPrints: @SunshineMcC: Ya it's only just starting so it's not bad. I actually drink decaf (did before too) so it's more for taste than caffeine. But I will miss it.
Anyone else finding that when they have to pee, it's urgent, like if you don't go soon you'll pee your pants? I am drinking a ton of water but I usually did it's so weird. Feel totally fine than bamn need a bathroom right away.

@loki: I'm feeling pretty awful! Yesterday my nausea lasted all day from the time I woke up until I went to bed. I'm having a hard time with eating. Most things are a chore to eat and all I want is pure carbs with no nutritional value! I ate Ramen for dinner if I wait too long to eat I feel more nauseous but then when I sit down to eat I have a difficult time eating.
It's been hard adjusting back to work feeling like this and I don't even have my students yet. Plus I'm new and don't feel comfortable sharing the news yet so I'm suffering in silence lol. I know it will get better, but how do people do this more than once?! Yikes!

My first appointment/ultrasound is September 16th!
I may go in before to get blood work done but I'm trying not to freak out right now. The lines on a cheapie test are so super light. The digi test says I'm about 2-3 weeks along. I'm barely having any cramping or bloating like I did with LO but I am insanely hot &exhausted all day & im getting headaches so I'm taking that as a symptom.
hostess / cantaloupe / 6486 posts
@PawPrints: oh that's so exciting!!! blowing you sticky baby dust!
pomegranate / 3658 posts
@Mrs. Sunshine: Yay for scheduling your first ultrasound! I would not worry a bit about those cheapie tests, they are worthless. The hot/exhausted/headaches/digi test all says "you are pregnant!!"
kiwi / 563 posts
If you're experiencing cramping at all, what does it feel like? Initially mine were like pulling and stretching sensations all over the place. The last couple days they've felt a bit more like period cramps, which initially freaked me out - but I've read that's normal. I still have the pulling and stretching ones too. Am curious what your experiences have been?
hostess / cantaloupe / 6486 posts
@SunshineMcC: I don't seem to be cramping much yet with this one but with LO I would have cramps so bad some.mornings that I couldn't get out of bed. I had a totally 100% normal & complication free pregnancy
pomegranate / 3658 posts
@SunshineMcC: I've had both. So far, the cramps that feel like period cramps have been fairly short, though, like no longer than a minute and then they stop. (As opposed to hours and hours without ceasing, like when I have my period).
pomelo / 5041 posts
@SunshineMcC: I've had really varied cramps this pregnancy. Nothing too bad though.
@loki: Today I have felt horribly nauseous. And last night I had my first bout of tear-jerking constipation. Aah the joys of pregnancy once again.
I am so anxious for my appt Monday but feeling that it's very likely she won't do anything but a consultation.

@Boopers: oh I hear you! All I want right now are carbs! Im usually super healthy and have a big kale/spinach salad for lunch every day... Well this week all i can face for lunch is a cheese sandwich. And yes, if I get hungry the nausea kicks in and if I don't eat right away it gets really bad really quickly. Ive taken to carrying crackers around wherever i go and I find I often need to eat a few crackers first before I can eat other food. Plain foods without too many flavors seem to be working best for me at the moment. Im trying to eat lots of carrot and celery sticks, berries and apple sauce just so my diet has some fruit and veg and not just carbs and cheese!

@SunshineMcC: my cramps are exactly what you have described and have changed from pinching pulling to period-like. The period like ones come and go, vary in intensity and can sometimes feel a bit sharper (if that makes sense!), but overall feel like what I would expect if I was getting my period.

Anybody else having trouble with faulty proprioception?
I know it is common for women who are further along to bang into things because they misjudge the size of their belly/breasts/behind; their sense of self hasn't kept up with their growth...
But, my breasts are the only things that have changed, yet, I'm banging my head, elbows, shins into everything all the dang time. I have three or four different goose-eggs on my head right now.

Hi Ladies! I'm cautiously joining the group, but I'm still super early. I got my BFP a couple days ago on LO's first bday. We were going to start trying this fall so LOs would be about two years apart, but looks like we jumped the gun a little. I'm still BF a few times a day and have only half-heartedly been tracking cycles. I have a little spotting so I'm not entirely in the clear, but I spotted with DD at the beginning too. Anyways, I'm hoping to stick around with you ladies. Congrats to all of you and your upcoming April babes!
Location: ontario, Canada
EDD: April 28/15
How far along: 3w5d
First child? No, my daughter turned one Aug 15.
First doctor appointment: I have to go for her one month appointment tomorrow so I'll figure things out then. I'm hoping to get some blood drawn this week.
Any symptoms so far? Frequent peeing, gas, no nausea yet.
Who have you told? DH and my BF. I'm still in shock and a little scared about having babies 20 months apart!
hostess / cantaloupe / 6486 posts
@delight: my LO will be one next month & I am also about 3 weeks along! We were NTNP but planning on fully trying next month so we were a little surprised! I'm super nervous by how early it is but I'm trying not to worry about it. I'm having symptoms but nothing remarkable yet. Welcome & hoping you have a sticky baby!!
pomegranate / 3658 posts
@lilyofthewest: Yes! "Clumsiness" is a pregnancy symptom. I've been hitting my hands and feet into things and occasionally dropping things too.
pomelo / 5326 posts
@Mrs. Sunshine: thanks so much and congrats to you too. It'll be fun to have babies so close in age. I'm going to have to read back through the thread and find out who else isn't on their first pregnancy.
@pawprints: thanks so much!
pomelo / 5041 posts
@delight: Congratulations! Another oops early baby here too. J will be one in September. I'm a little scared about how I'm going to manage them both at first.
@lilyofthewest: I was not so clumsy my first pregnancy but this one I'm running into everything! My pregnancy brain is even worse too.
persimmon / 1363 posts
So I am pretty stressed about this pregnancy. We went in on Wednesday for an ultrasound and they saw no obvious signs of pregnancy on the pelvic, and what could be a teeny gestational sac on the transvag, so the results were inconclusive. I did the hcg test on Friday and and I will do another one on Monday. The rational part of my brain knows that I ovulated super late in cycle, and at the time of the ultrasound, I was closer to 4 weeks pregnant than 6. The irrational part of my brain is sure it's a blighted ovum. I have some pregnancy symptoms, like intense exhaustion and some waves of nausea, hot flashes, etc. but the fact that I don't have like super sore breasts like I did with my last pregnancy for example, I am sure in a bad sign.
pomelo / 5041 posts
@Rockies11: I've heard sore breasts are not as common with your second baby. Sore nipples were my primary symptom with my first but they're totally normal this time. What were the numbers of your first hCG? What week did it put you at? Fingers crossed for you.
persimmon / 1363 posts
@marionberry: you know, my nipples are sore, which is a problem because I am still breastfeeding. I don't have the results from the blood tests, because they only give them to you after you have done both. I have 2-3 weeks on the weeks indicator on the clearblue, and the lines are steadily darker on my frers, but I am still not calm. We concieved on the 26th of July, which would put me at 5 weeks, with a due date of April 18.
hostess / cantaloupe / 6486 posts
@marionberry: oh my gosh. I didn't know the pregnancy brain could be this bad this early but I am so out of it all the time!
