@auggiefrog: yay great news!!
So, is anyone thinking about names yet? I guess it is good we are having a boy because my husband and I could not agree on girl's names. We are not 100% yet, but thinking it will most likely be Nathaniel.

@bloved: I love Nathaniel!
Our LO will be Kennedy. We've actually had it picked out since we had our first dd.

@bloved: Oh I love that name!
@MrsRoo: Good choice!
We are leaning towards Lorelei. Do Elliott (big sister) and Lorelei work okay together?
pomelo / 5660 posts
@Cherrybee: cute! I love name Lorelei especially since I heard it on Gilmore Girls
papaya / 10570 posts
@BandDmommy: I first heard it on an episode of The Dog Whisperer (it was a yappy dog). But we wont mention that......

@Cherrybee: Interesting. I don't watch the dog whisperer because it would make me realize how badly behaved my dog is and I don't need mommy guilt. LOL

So I had a check up yesterday @ 23 weeks. I haven't gained any weight, so only up 3 pounds total. Heart rate was 132 and I am measuring 3 weeks ahead.
I am scheduled to get my glucose test done 12/28 and my doctor scheduled my 3D/4D ultrasound Jan 4th and I'll be in the 3rd trimester that same week yay!! I am so ready to meet my little Waylon

@MrsRoo: cute name!
@Cherrybee: love it...and I think Lorelei and Elliott go well together.
@BandDmommy: @AMommyThang: like both your names too.

@Cherrybee: I love Lorelai. I also first heard it on Gilmore Girls.
We thought of Elliott for a DS2 - DH likes it a lot but he doesn't like Eli for a nickname and I would want to have a nickname for him.

@banddmommy....I haven't had one in over a month but when we measured him last he was measuring a week ahead. Thats why we are doing a 3D ultrasound to measure growth more accurately.
pomelo / 5660 posts
@AMommyThang: measuring ahead based on fundal height? My OB doesn't do that till later.
cherry / 152 posts
Oh yes 3 weeks based on fundal height, I should've mentioned that. My daughter was 9 pounds so I think I just have big babies.

We have no idea on names yet. We like older, traditional names, but nothing is standing out. We're currently stuck on Clara, Cora and Rose.
Had my anatomy scan on Monday. Baby was curled up in a little ball and not moving and I started freaking out. The tech gave me ice water and juice to get her moving. Kind of funny that ice water makes them move around! All is good. She's measuring on track and is definitely a girl. I asked the tech if genetic testing was ever wrong and she said absolutely. She's had a few who have to change their expectations after the anatomy scan. That's crazy to me.
@Cherrybee: I love Lorelei. One of my best friends is a Lorelei. And it sounds great with Elliott.

@BlueWolverine: I love love love Cora but will never get to use it since I'm having my third boy!
My husband and I don't agree on any names at all. It's tough trying to name a third boy!

That moment you realize that you waited too long to contact childcare and the soonest availability is August-September. Oh and the fact it will cost you between $1400-$1500/ month for 2 kids
pomelo / 5660 posts
@AMommyThang: we are looking at $2,880 a month for DS and DD. DS2 will stay home with me since I'm a WAHM. But once DS turns 1 it will be all 3 in school at a whooping $4,320
persimmon / 1458 posts
@BandDmommy: we pay about $2000/month for 2 and will be over $3000/month for 3! Daycare costs are no joke!
pomelo / 5660 posts
@Canoli: this place is cheaper than the last center we had him in. If he was still here it would be much more! Luckily it's only 1 year of all 3 in daycare.

OMG! I am assuming with those prices you all live further north than me. This is why you find more SAHM these days. We are literally working to put our kids through school.
pomelo / 5660 posts
@AMommyThang: suburb of DC. I can't be SAHM. I did it for a year and HaTED it. It's not for everyone.
pear / 1510 posts
We'll be paying $1875 for two. Quite a chunk, but not nearly as bad as elsewhere.
cherry / 152 posts
@banddmommy me either! I did it for 6 months and it was not for me. It's just a little frustrating that my pay is only going to one place.

This little guy is Samuel Jay. DH, I, LO1, both of our moms and a few other relatives all have rhyming middle names so we had to keep that going. Also, both grandpa's have first names that start with a J, so we thought this was a nice nod. Samuel means God hears and meaning is important to us.

Has anyone thought about care for there other LOs while in the hospital? DS was 2.5 when DD born so I wasn't so anxious leaving him. But I've never been away from DD and she will only be 16 months when DS2 is born. I'm sure she will be fine with my parents but weird thinking about being away from her. I told DH I want to leave the hospital as soon as I get cleared.

@BandDmommy: ugh we probably have like 2 more years of 3. Even though my son is 4, he doesn't turn 5 until the end of October so he can't even start kindergarten next year.
And my income is less than what it will cost to have 3 in daycare but I could never be a stay at home mom. Thankfully my husband does well and we can afford to do this. I have an incredible amount of respect and admiration for stay at home parents. They rock!

I like the names you all have picked out so far! We've had a few conversations. I think we'll end up going with Savannah, but nothing is set in stone yet.
I haven't contacted any daycares yet. You guys are freaking me out right now! lol Although, if needed, my MIL doesn't work, and she's willing to watch LO but she'll basically live with us during the week and go home for the weekend. But I'm not sure how long DH or myself could handle that for. lol Love her to death, don't get me wrong, but dh and her bicker and its stressful.
pomelo / 5660 posts
@Canoli: I'm keeping DS2 with me for a year, otherwise it would be 3 in daycare for 2 years. My oldest son is 3.5. Luckily, my income can cover all 3 in daycare while continuing to be a WAHM.
pear / 1622 posts
@BandDmommy: this is what has been stressing me out. My LO will be 19+ months and I don't know what to do. I thought about asking my in-laws to be here around that time - my FIL is retiring in January and my MIL will work for fun but when they were here for Thanksgiving - they said they would visit in the summer.
I have a few friends that I trust to leave LO with for a night so I think I may have to ask them if they can be on call.
In a weird way I am a little envious of my friends who have scheduled C-sections. One had one last week in the AM and her husband could pick up her LO from daycare at the end of the day. I don't want a C-section - but wouldn't it be nice if we could just know when we are going into labor and how long will it last?
I told DH that he should stay hope with LO after delivery and I'll come home as soon as I can.
Daycare costs for me will be $2186 a month - not looking forward to it - I will try to find something cheaper but don't think that will happen.
GOLD / cantaloupe / 6703 posts
I will have a scheduled induction, and my mom will come down to help mind LO1. Also, if absolutely needed, she could go to my in-laws, but they live about 90 minutes away. My sister has also offered to come down so that my mom and hubs can be at the hospital with me.

@AMommyThang: Yep. The daycare I work at is having a serious baby boom this spring. I think there are at least 5 babies due between April and May. It's crazy! I hope you get something figured out!
I get a discount at my daycare, so I'll only be paying around $731-ish a month. Don't get too jealous though, I have to deal with a classroom full of hyped up 3 year-olds all day!
persimmon / 1114 posts
Ugh seeing these daycare costs are terrifying. I have not even sat down and figured out what the two in daycare will cost me but I am imagining around 2200 or so (and that is with the new baby only going 3 days a week and spending 2 with my mil). Like others, I will be working to send my kids to daycare basically. But my health benefits alone are good enough that it makes it worthwhile for me to keep working (plus I enjoy it).
If I have a repeat c-section, it will be easy to schedule care for my son and he will probably go to my inlaws. In many ways that seems like the more convienent answer, but I am really hoping for a vbac. My clinic is pushing for the repeat c though, so we will see which way we go (I have a consult with them to discuss this over winter break).
