@Cherrybee: Umm your to do list just made me realize I have way more to do than I suspected. Too bad I can't just wheel myself around the house to get all this stuff done. Lol

@bloved: please post the matching outfits- sounds so freaking cute! the nursery is totally on hold for us since we only have 45 days to pack up our house once we accept the relo appraisal. Little ( I mean little) by little I am purging stuff room by room. I'm so happy with our bassinet since I can use it for a good long while until we are settled and then buy & set up a crib.

@Mrs. Lemon-Lime: nothing! I have absolutely nothing done! Although my husband will probably do the car seats this weekend because my almost 2 year old hates getting in the car seat and it is a daily battle so we are going to forward face him in hopes that it will improve.

My husband brought up the bins of clothing from our basement so I have to wash all of that and all of the bedding and get the pack and play and rock and play set up. And I should get my bag started. I am 35 weeks as of yesterday and it's become real that it's soon baby time! Yikes!

@bloved: I got the solly too! I hope I don't find it too frustrating and baby likes it. I'm convinced that this little man needs to enjoy being worn because with 3 kids I don't know how to do it unless I grow some extra hands!

@Mrs. Lemon-Lime: Sorry! If you caught me on a stressy day, I would reel off item after item that "needs to be done". Freezer meals, get my hair cut, dig out the baby bath and clean it, blah blah blah.... but, the thing is, most things will just get done once baby is here, or at least will seem unimportant.

@Mrs. Lemon-Lime: I have the crib set up but the sheets and stuff aren't cleaned and put on it yet. We set up the rock n play and the swing/cradle, so those are done. DH installed the car seats last weekend, but I'd like to get them inspected, however when I looked into the local fire department it says you need to call three months in advance?! ACK! I didn't know that!!! So I don't know what to do for that now.

Um, what else....I need to finish washing everything (OMG the amount of CLOTHES we got is insane.) I think I'll go through them all and get the newborn and 0-3 months washed and organized and go from there. nesting has totally not kicked in for me yet either, although my dogs are acting weird....so that worries me that I'll be going into labor sooner rather than later! And I haven't packed my hospital bag yet either.

@JennyLayneAZ: we sorted clothes before washing to save from having to do gobs at once.

Rock n play is in our room, carseat installed, crib together and linens washed. Room mostly assembled and swing ready to be set in the livingroom. Baby boy is welcome to arrive any time.

Yay! My new company car is ready. I'll have time to pick it up on Friday, which means I will finally get the car seat installed.

@JennyLayneAZ: I'm planning to just drive by my local firestation and hopefully they won't turn me away.

We have the crib ready but need to wash the clothes, buy diapers, set up/get another changing station, install the car seat, and take out some items from storage (bouncer, infant tub, activity gym, etc).
I started working on the hospital bag last weekend but need to go to Target to get a few things. Also need to work on having some postpartum items already at home.
I am not too stressed by it - I think it's manageable but we'll see what happens. Still working on the freezer meals too.

    @bloved: how are you doing?
@MaisyMay: I'm pretty much ready too! Just need to set up bassinet in my room and install his car seat. I do need to decide if he will go in my lil vintage bassinet or the pack n play that has a lil sleeper spot.
Does anyone else baby get the hiccups a lot? Mine gets the hiccups every day!
Oh, Last night I had that round ligament pain and oh my gosh is that brutal. Luckily it went away by the afternoon today. It was so painful!

Well I cannot believe how close we all are getting. I can't wait to see everyone's babies and hear birth stories, etc. I wish you all the best and pray for healthy babies, safe deliveries and happy mommies Ok I'm a tad emotional the last few days ......

Most of my baby laundry is done and most of the immediate purchases are made. We finally did our Amazon registry purchase and I got the stuff yesterday and today. It was fun to get all the baby stuff!

We still need to clean our house; it's a mess! Our hospital bags are mostly packed, except for a few things. The car seat isn't installed, but DH doesn't seam too concerned about it. And I need to clean out my car to make room for a car seat. My back seat has become teacher resource storage. And there are all the silly little things to finish like my crib mobile.

It has been so hard to get stuff done recently. I started my maternity leave this week and I had all these plans to get stuff done in the mornings, then rest (nap!) in the afternoons but my inlaws had other ideas. They have E Mon-Weds, then she goes to daycare Thurs-Fri. My inlaws decided, since I'm on maternity leave, I wouldn't need them to take E for full days. I could hardly disagree because they do us such a huge favour by having her but aaagh I've got so much to do!! Anyway, today she's at nursery and I've already managed to achieve loads but now its 10am and I am so tired!! I don't think I can walk up the stairs again!! Being pregnant really takes it out of you!

@jh524: well, thanks. Scan on Monday to check heart was so bizarre- this office had no record that the heart needed to be checked! They did a growth scan and focused on it and said it looked fine, but it was annoying bc my doctor made it such a big deal and said I had to go Monday or Tuesday only to never send over the information!

Yesterday after work, my stomach was tight/painful, but it did not really ebb and flow- it was just 4 solid hours of tight pressure. Anyone else have anything like that? Is that what Braxton hicks are? It went away once I finally could lie down and drink water so I am assuming that's what it was...

    persimmon / 1114 posts

@Cherrybee: that stinks! I hate losing out on time I was counting on, but I also understand not being able to say anything. But yes, being pregnant with a toddler is no joke! I find this pregnancy about 1000x more exhausting than my first!

  13. MaisyMay

    GOLD / cantaloupe / 6703 posts

@bloved: that sounds like a long time for your stomach to be hard. I think the longest I have felt had been around 5-10 minutes and it was so uncomfortable.

@Cherrybee: I know our daycare is judging me for being on leave but still having LO1 there full time. Oh well. I am tired and trying to get ready for another baby. I had 3 appointments this week, and 4 next week, and am doing a little work from home. LO1 is getting plenty of extra attention right now from us, and we want her to stay to her routine. Could you use the routine excuse with you IL's to keep LO1 a little longer some days?

  15. Cherrybee

    papaya / 10570 posts

@MaisyMay: Her routine is, quite genuinely, my biggest concern. I don't want her to get used to extra time with mummy, only to be cast aside when the new baby comes. I did say this to them when they suggested I might like entire days with her to do "special things" before the baby comes. The compromise was theyd still have her three days but they would be shorter days - they'd pick her up when they were ready and drop her back when they'd had enough. Yesterday, that was 11.30am-4.30pm. Its already backfiring - this morning she made a terrible fuss about going to daycare at 8am because she's used to playing tea parties with mummy for four hours first thing. When the baby is here, we wont be playing tea parties all morning because I will be nursing (hopefully) and seeing to a baby...... Its just a mess, but I don't feel like I can say I want them to have her full days because its good of them to have her at all.

  16. MaisyMay

    GOLD / cantaloupe / 6703 posts

@Cherrybee: oh. I am sorry to hear that. Would they be willing to pick her up at a specific time bit vary her drop off time? That way her mornings are easier? For my LO, DH takes her to daycare at the same time but I pick her up between 3-430 depending on my day.

  17. Cherrybee

    papaya / 10570 posts

@MaisyMay: I need to talk to them again I guess. I suppose whatever we do she will be unsettled and will feel pushed out.

  18. MaisyMay

    GOLD / cantaloupe / 6703 posts

@Cherrybee: are there any things she can do to help you prep for baby? My LO has helped me sort clothes, put away things, sorry laundry, even looked at pics while I was put them in the albums. She isn't much help, but she feels useful and like she is helping get ready for her brother. She even determined where to hang the clock and which stuffed animals to put in the crib since he won't use the crib right now.

  19. Mrs. Lemon-Lime

    wonderful pea / 17279 posts

@Cherrybee: one of my coworkers went on mat leave last month. Her daughter (new big sis) is 3 and was completely resistant to having a sibling her entire pregnancy. Once the baby arrived she has been so loving and helpful. She has kept her daughter in daycare all this time, so her routine has been consistent. Maybe not at this moment, but once here E may surprise you.

Are you planning on giving her a gift from the baby when little sis is born? Your ultrasound clinic may even be able to write a message from baby to big sis on a sonogram. That might get E excited knowing baby "knows" her.

  20. Cherrybee

    papaya / 10570 posts

@Mrs. Lemon-Lime: What a brilliant idea! The hospital wont do it (only the essentials on the NHS!) but you can pay for them to print off a picture and I could put it in a card with a message from little sister!

@MaisyMay: She helped me sort the old clothes and toys (which have been packed away for a long time and she didn't know they were once hers). She enjoyed playing with the clothes but got a bit possessive over the toys - "I have this one?", "she cant have my XYZ".

DH thinks I might be projecting my own guilt onto her behaviour a little bit and that she will be fine. I guess because I didn't bond with her until she was about a year old, I have these big feelings of guilt..... what if I like this baby more? But how could I love anything more than E? Etc etc.

  21. autumnleaves

    pear / 1622 posts

@MaisyMay: I would be doing the same thing as you - keeping LO in daycare. There is so much to do and not enough time. LO1 is going to stay in daycare while I am on maternity leave - I think the routine is really good for him.

I had my dr appointment today and had U/S to confirm baby is not bigger than he should be. He is around 5 lbs 3 ounces now. Everything is looking good thank goodness. They did say I should not gain more than a pound a week the rest of the pregnancy - easier said than done but hopefully I can pull it off.

  22. Mrs. Lemon-Lime

    wonderful pea / 17279 posts

@Cherrybee: my mom did that for me when I was about to become a big sister. It took me years to figure out my bro in utero couldn't talk or write let alone actually know my name!

So this has been happening for the past week and a half- crazy swollen feet. I have resorted to wearing these sandals at work. No one has said a thing- thank goodness! This weekend I have to squeeze my wide & swollen feet into pointy flats for a meeting. My calfs are big and well defined, but I still feel like a suckling pig when I look at my ankles.

@jh524: hiccups, yes lots of hiccups. I actually noticed with all of my pregnancies my babies had the hiccups!

  24. Mrs. Lemon-Lime

    wonderful pea / 17279 posts

@jh524: @Canoli: how can you tell? What does it feel like?

  25. jh524

    pear / 1632 posts

@Mrs. Lemon-Lime: don't stress about it. I struggled with swollen feet my last pregnancy but so far with this one I haven't had the swelling start.
@Canoli: my whole Tummy bounces repetitively like a hiccup and I can feel them in my pelvis where babies head is. It's funny

So it's interesting you all are keeping your lo's going to daycare. I'll be doing the opposite and keeping the lil dude home two weeks prior to delivery and for some time after baby is here to keep myself and newborn healthy. I want no sickness if i can prevent it is that silly?! Lol

  26. Mrs. Lemon-Lime

    wonderful pea / 17279 posts

@jh524: I'm taking it all in stride.

My doctor measured my belly- 5 weeks ahead now...so yeah I have 40 week looking belly. My doctor told me not gain anymore weight. I'm withing the range they told me at the beginning, but for a vaginal birth she cautioned if I get too much bigger I can kiss that thought goodbye. @autumnleaves: what's our game plan, girl? Lol

Baby's heartbeat was 150. My blood pressure is still normal, swollen feet normal, and pregnancy carpal tunnel all normal. Unless things change my doctor sees no reason for me to go on mat leave early.

  27. Canoli

    persimmon / 1458 posts

@Mrs. Lemon-Lime: same as @jh524. It's like consistent little bumps in my belly. That was a horrible description. But it's really neat.

I kept my older son in daycare when my last son was born and will send the both of them full time again. Honestly I know it sounds terrible but I can't imagine taking care of my 2 very active boys solo all day with a newborn. Plus my oldest especially needs structure and routine or we notice behavior changes in him. Plus it wears them out!

  28. bloved

    persimmon / 1114 posts

@MaisyMay: I thought it was a long time to be contracted too. But ultimately it ended so I am guessing maybe I just didn't notice the ebb and flow?

@MaisyMay: @autumnleaves: we are also leaving my son in daycare during maternity leave. He thrives best on routine and I want some alone time with the new baby. He currently only goes 3x a week bc my mil watches him the other 2 days and I am going to have her stop coming (more for me than for him) so I am hoping I will have a good balance.

@jh524: I had not thought about reducing exposure to illness...that's a good point!

@Mrs. Lemon-Lime: ugh your poor feet. Mine look similar. Isn't pregnancy glamorous!?

  29. MaisyMay

    GOLD / cantaloupe / 6703 posts

@jh524: I see where your are coming from in terms of sickness, makes sense.

  30. jh524

    pear / 1632 posts

@bloved, @MaisyMay: I've just had the worst time getting sick during this pregnancy. The lil dude got croup then I got it, then he got pink eye, I got it and I'm just afraid of that happening with a newborn! I guess you can't live in a bubble but at this point I kinda want to...

I missed a lot this afternoon lol I had an appointment today. They did the gbs test today. My blood pressure is slightly elevated at 138 over 86 so he wants to see me again on Tuesday. And I gained 8 lbs in 2 weeks. So...I'm on yellow alert he said. They told me to rest as much as possible... that's all I do when I'm not at work so I don't know how much more resting I can accomplish.

Went to the Dr today for my 37 week check up. Lost 2 pounds. Waylon is still measuring 41 weeks. My Dr checked me just in case, I'm at a 1 and still super high so no change in csection. I just looked at my count down... 10 days and 9 hrs left till I go under the knife and get to meet my sweet boy. One more appointment next Thursday and then it's just filling my days up so they go by fast!!!!

@AMommyThang: 10 more days! It's all going by so fast!
@JennyLayneAZ: Sorry about the yellow alert. I hope your appointment on Tuesday goes better.
@Mrs. Lemon-Lime: Gaining no more weight? That's rough. But everything else sounds good. You can do it!
@Mrs. Lemon-Lime: I'm hating my swollen feet too. I wish it was warmer and I could get away with scandals. I change into moccasins most days at work once I get there.
@autumnleaves: No more than a pound! Good luck!

My work had a surprise baby shower for me and the two other girls who are also pregnant. It was all so unexpected, and they were all so generous! And I got out of 'working' for almost two hours.
