@psw27: They definitely might work with you. Do you have any telework policies in place already? Does anyone ever telework??

@JennyPenny: Ugh, I hear you. I think I'm in the last few weeks of wearing regular clothes. Everything looks awful and is just becoming uncomfortable. I can't wait until it's cooler weather here and can wear some layers to hide the blumpyness

@ValentineMommy: Nope, he hasn't let anyone. He has a laptop and remotely accesses his email but he is the only one. Hopefully he would work with me... or at least let me work some hours at home? Ugh. Hopefully I don't end up on bedrest at all!

@jennypenny: getting dressed is a huge struggle right now! Although I started wearing maternity pants a few weeks ago. My stomach is so irritated/nauseous that tight pants were just not happening! I have a lot of loose dresses that I've been rotating heavily!

    Hello second trimester!!

How's everyone doing? How's everyone feeling?

    pomelo / 5220 posts

@bubblegum: Woohoo!! Just hit 13 weeks this morning myself and I was excited.... until I almost threw up walking to work in front of a group of high schoolers on a field trip. I'm so ready for morning sickness to move right along! How are you feeling?

  6. bubblegum

    pear / 1717 posts

@psw27: yay!! 13 weeks is always a relief! Oh nooo you still have morning sickness?! Poor thing hopefully when you hit 14 weeks it'll all be over. I'm feeling pretty good. No morning sickness, no more dizziness, other than feeling ugly, 2nd trimester is treating me beautifully. Thank god!

  7. psw27

    pomelo / 5220 posts

@bubblegum: yeah, just when I think I'm done with it it rears its ugly head. I haven't actually thrown up in about 10 days though! So definitely progress. I just have to eat massive amounts of breakfast - like oatmeal, and then a bagel, and then a protein bar and then a banana - all before 11 am. I'm going to gain 50 pounds at this rate! Woohoo for 2nd trimester energy and feeling good! So glad you are feeling better, I can't wait to get there!

@psw27: Ohhhh for sure progress!! Hey whatever helps!! You have to feel good to get through the day! Thanks love. I'm sure you'll be there very soon!

@bubblegum: Feeling great!! The second trimester is treating me well so far. I'm starting to show with a little bump and I don't have any symptoms other than sore boobs and some hip pain. My previous two pregnancies were full of fatigue and morning sickness so this is a welcome relief. I'm thinking about unpacking my maternity clothes to show off my bump. Not quite ready for maternity pants but I have some shirts that I can start wearing.

@psw27: Oh hun, I'm sorry you are still dealing with morning sickness. I hope you can find relief soon...maybe at 14 weeks? I'll keep my fingers crossed for you!

@MapleMoose: How exciting!!! That's great to hear! So glad this pregnancy is going better than the last two! YES! I'm all for showing off the bump!

@MapleMoose: It's all good, thank you! I'll get there - hopefully really soon! Glad you are feeling great! I totally busted out maternity pants weeks ago - my stomach was hurting way too much to be jamming it into tight pants!

Officially 13 weeks tomorrow. I'm slowly feeling better, although I did throw up in the shower yesterday, ugh.

I had my 12 week appt this morning and my Dr had a hard time finding the heartbeat. He said he heard it, but honestly I couldn't distinguish it. He also heard a movement which was cool.

I just want to cry. All I want to do is sleep and DD just started throwing up. This means she doesn't get to go to school tomorrow and we will probably all get the sickness. It sucks! Now she is crying because she wants to go to school. SO can't come home this weekend because his mom has another surgery in less than a week and can't have it if she's sick and he can't visit with her if he is sick. This is a dog gone mess.

@psw27: I'm right there with you....my nausea (and occasional vomiting) has gotten worse since around week 10-11 up until now. I wish my stomach could just feel settled for a few days! It's making healthy eating almost impossible.

@littleblessings: Oh no! I hope your LO feels better fast and that it doesn't spread throughout the household!

  15. psw27

    pomelo / 5220 posts

@abbydabbydoodlebug: Sorry to hear you are still throwing up. It's the worst! Right there with ya though, threw up in the kitchen sink this morning.

@ValentineMommy: that's exactly how I feel - I just my stomach to feel settled. I feel constantly hungover and nothing I eat calms it down. I haven't been eating healthy foods pretty much at all - I would say apples and bananas are pretty much the best 99% of the time.

@littleblessings: Oh man, I am so, so sorry. That sounds completely overwhelming.

  16. ValentineMommy

    pomelo / 5791 posts

@psw27: Same here sister. It's carb city. And takeout a lot. Why do I only crave the worst foods???? I have a serious aversion to chicken, which is basically what I lived off of before being pregnant.

  17. psw27

    pomelo / 5220 posts

@ValentineMommy: I basically only eat crackers, cereal, bagels, soup and granola bars for most of the day. I've had ramen noodles twice this week. This child is going to come out looking like a saltine at this rate. I haven't eaten home cooked/healthy versions of chicken in at least 2 months. I have had chicken nuggets though. Of course. We'll get through it!!

  18. littleblessings

    pear / 1739 posts

@ValentineMommy: @psw27: no luck. DD seems to be feeling better. Just gave her crackers to see if she could keep that down. DS just joined in the sickness. Just cried for 20 minutes on the phone with SO. I just want to catch a break. Maybe sleep a little

@abbydabbydoodlebug: @littleblessings: @ValentineMommy: @psw27: Hugs, mamas! I hope things get better soon!!! Come here to vent/commiserate as much as you need.

    pomelo / 5220 posts

@littleblessings: I'm so sorry mama. I only have one kid and I'm completely overwhelmed when I don't feel good and he's being needy/sick. Can you pop on some TV and lay down for a bit? Ugh. I can't imagine. My SO is unavailable a lot too so I do a lot of crying on the phone. Wish I was closer, I would come relieve you for an hour so you could nap!

  21. littleblessings

    pear / 1739 posts

@psw27: unfortunately the TV only distracts my DD. DS is super clingy 24/7 as it is and then at illness on top of it. I just wish I had a miracle medicine that could make them feel better.

Has anyone started thinking of names yet? I thought once we knew the sex, the hunt would be a little easier. DH is fixated on names of female characters from SciFi TV/Movies/books. The last one he picked was Inara, which I thought was pretty until I realized that she is a prostitute in the futuristic show Firefly. Are we ever going to find something we both like?

  23. MissLace

    apricot / 311 posts

@yellowbeach: our current names are London Oliviera for a girl and Grant Oliver for a boy.

  24. yellowbeach

    nectarine / 2648 posts

@MissLace: That's so funny - tonight I just suggested London or Ivy to DH. He's 1/2 English, 1/2 Egyptian, born in London, so I thought he might like it. We are also planning on using his name as a basis for middle name (Egyptian tradition), so Amir would become Amira.

  25. MissLace

    apricot / 311 posts

@yellowbeach: ivy was on my list too, but I didn't like how it sounds with our last name that also ends in a Y. I love Amira but I already know a little girl named that in real life. Names are so hard!

@yellowbeach: okay so I'm technically in the May group now but still stalking this one (probably will deliver in April!) so I had to give my 2 cents. We name our dogs after fictional characters. What about Kaylee? She's a character who is very endearing (and not a sex worker!) from Firefly. Our male dog is named Cpt Malcolm Reynolds (the main character) our female dog is Rue from the hunger games. DH wanted a name from GoT but I felt like it was so popular with the show currently!

We announced officially today! Feels good to be out in the open and not have to lie about why I feel so crappy all the time. Several people said they had a feeling I was pregnant because of it, haha. Guess I haven't been hiding it too well. Here's our announcement:

    nectarine / 2460 posts

@yellowbeach: As a lover of Firefly I would totally support the name Inara. A prostitute is probably an oversimplification and she's a totally awesome strong female character (as are most of the women in anything by Joss Whedon) but it probably doesn't have the best google results

I loved a similarish name Eirene (pronounced ear-wren-ee) from the tv show Rome. And it means peace in Greek. But we probably won't go with it because it sounds the French pronunciation of irony and DHs family is French.

@littleblessings: I'm so sorry. I really hope you catch a break soon and get some rest!

I think I finally figured out a cause tof why I'm sick some of the time, but ok other days. I think the culprit might be coffee. Tuesday I had s cup, threw up my entire breakfast. Wednesday no coffee, felt fine but just tired in the afternoon. Today I had coffee again and I've felt like crap the whole day. I've felt like I've been swallowing a lump all day and just barely able to not throw up. It's awful and I'm so sad that I lost my wine and now my coffee.

@abbydabbydoodlebug: @psw27: @MapleMoose: @ValentineMommy: so both kids were sick all day yesterday. They seem to be better today thankfully! *knock on wood*

@abbydabbydoodlebug: adorable! It is nice to tell more people, I still have quite a few to tell! I'm sorry about the coffee, I've been off it for a while but I can't do anything too acidic (OJ for one.) or my stomach is upset. You might be able to go back to it as you progress along - I hope!!

@littleblessings: I'm glad they are on the up and up, now let's just hope you don't get it! Did you get any rest last night?

@yellowbeach: Names are hard but eventually you will find something, I promise!

  32. MapleMoose

    grapefruit / 4213 posts

@yellowbeach: DH and I sometimes throw out a name here or there but we won't start seriously thinking about names until the gender scan. It's something to keep us busy during the long wait til April.

@abbydabbydoodlebug: Adorable announcement! And I'm still whining over losing my weekend wine so I feel some of your pain! Does tea make you queasy too?

@littleblessings: Thank goodness your kids are on the mend. I hope you and your DH can avoid catching it.

  33. littleblessings

@psw27: I got more than the previous night. Today DS choked on a bagel and threw up but he has been pretty good other than that. We actually went outside for a bit today. It was nice!

@MapleMoose: SO has training this weekend plus with his mom having cancer he can't afford to be sick. I won't see him for another whole week. I'm not sure if I already experienced the illness or not. Yesterday I had morning gagging like morning sickness and didn't eat like all day because I didn't feel good. I just got over morning sickness like a week ago so I don't know if it was morning sickness or the illness the kids have.

Tonight I was hosting a Jamberry party and an announcement was made on the party. Have to talk to SO on when to make the official announcement on FB. I had my mother tell my step dad about the pregnancy since I haven't been able to see him. I wanted to do something cute and tell him in person but no way too when he works like SO.

Anyone have tips for these crazy 2nd trimester headaches? I'm maxing out on my tylenol allowance. Checked my blood pressure just to be sure - it's fine. The headaches are making work unbearable.

  35. MOMTOLITTLEB

    persimmon / 1188 posts

@yellowbeach: Sometimes drinking a ton of water helps me but other times it doesn't seem to make a difference. I had them even worse last time and the doctor recommended caffeine. There is a migraine medication approved for pregnancy but I held off filling the prescription unless I truly couldn't deal with it. I had them again at the end and in that case it was high blood pressure.

  36. littleblessings

    pear / 1739 posts

@yellowbeach: I've been having them. They don't go away either. For me I have to try different natural things to see why I have it. Its a pain in the butt!

How is everyone feeling? Anybody feel movement yet?

  38. JennyPenny

    nectarine / 2460 posts

@littleblessings: maybe? I've been having random bouts of feeling like my stomach is unsettled and not still, but at random times that don't seem related to digestion. Nothing I can say for sure though.

Otherwise, I swear my boobs just grew/filled practically overnight! They feel uncomfortably full like I need to find a baby to nurse and waiting 6 months feels like it'll be an eternity. I don't remember feeling this way with my first even though my boobs were giant, so I think I must just associate this feeling with needing to nurse now. Any 2nd time moms feel similarly?

  39. littleblessings

    pear / 1739 posts

@JennyPenny: my breasts haven't grown yet. It'll prolly be another month for me. Haha.

  40. ValentineMommy

    pomelo / 5791 posts

@littleblessings: no movement yet for me!! I'm still only 13w though, so it'll probably be awhile. With ds2, I had an anterior placenta and didn't feel him FOREVER. Hoping that's not the case this time, cause I wanna feel this baby!

@JennyPenny: my boobs haven't done anything, besides the occasional soreness.

Oh yea, we ended up announcing the gender...DH just couldn't wait to tell everyone! So, that being said, if you didn't see on the fb page, my two little boys are going to have a little sister!!! We are very excited!
