Today my co-workers took me out for lunch since tomorrow is my last day. I've been waiting for this but I will for sure miss my girls. I'll have a whole 4 days of no work before baby girl gets here. I bet you this weekend will be so slow but with the beautiful weather I am not complaining! The last weekend as a family of 3!

@JennyPenny: my pump is also lost somewhere in red tape... my doctor's office said they didn't get the fax from the company requesting a signature and that my doctor would need to sign an Rx but she wasn't in until "late this week" (I started this process March 27th... and I've seen her since then.). Then today they said they found the fax request and were sending it out.... I don't really care (or need it at this point) but it is something to check off my to do list! Why does it have to be so complicated?!
@bubblegum: aw enjoy your time off before LO arrives!
@maplemoose: Monday! So exciting!

@JennyPenny:
Sorry to barge in here but I had searched on the birds about enlarged kidney during anatomy scan and both of your names came up. I'm 22 weeks and had my anatomy scan today and one kidney was slightly enlarged (4.5mm). The MFM doctor did not seem concerned at all and wants me back at 32 weeks. She anticipates it'll be cleared by then. Just wanted to hear your experience. I'm trying not to worry, but it's so tough not to!!

My heart is so full it could explode. I'm officially a momma! Our baby girl Kaia was born 04/09/17. My whole labor experience was incredible and I'm feeling great! We are home and getting into the groove of things.

@MommySLP: hey there! I'm sorry you're dealing with this too. I've had a few more scans and my LOs kidney is still large so they'll check it again after he's born. Pretty much the whole time I've been told - we'll keep checking and it will probably go away and even if it doesn't it's a pretty minor fix. My docs have said it's especially common in boys and they're very likely to have it resolve as well. Either way, I may have more info for you when LO is born in a week, but for now none of my docs are worried so I'm not either. Hope that helps!
@mrswilson2012: Yay! Congratulations! What a beautiful name. I'm glad you both are doing well. I guess we'll be getting started on is me postpartum chatter soon

@MommySLP: Hey! DD's was normal when they checked at 28 weeks! Ours was also very minor and right above the cut-off. I'm 36 weeks now and I've had monthly growth scans and everything looks great. I read so many stories of it resolving on its own, so hopefully that's the case for you too!
@mrswilson2012: Congrats, mama!!! Glad you're both doing well!

@bubblegum: That's so nice of your coworkers! Enjoy your weekend! Any special plans for the 3 of you?
@psw27: We're so excited! I just realized how soon Monday is and all the things I want to complete before then.
@JennyPenny: @psw27: So sorry you are both having insurance issues. I don't get to order a pump until I get admitted to L&D. A representative comes around, handles the insurance stuff, and I leave the hospital with a pump. Or so they tell me...
@mrswilson2012: Congratulations!! I'm so happy to hear you are both doing well!

@JennyPenny: @lilteacherbee: thanks so much. From what I've read it seems like a common occurrence and usually resolves itself. She also said it's a soft marker for Down syndrome but I have no other markers so she wasn't concerned. Most of the stories I've read online haven't even mentioned Down syndrome when only marker is an enlarged kidney. Did either of your doctors mention this? Good luck with your upcoming births!!!
cantaloupe / 6791 posts
@MommySLP: I think mine may have mentioned it, but since there were no other markers and my NIPT came back low-risk, she wasn't worried. Hang in there!

@MapleMoose: that's basically what happened last time - a pump kind of magically appeared in my hospital room! I should have just waited this time and had the same thing happen. Knowing my luck it'll get lost in the mail Hahaha.... But I have my trusty one from last time so I would be fine.
nectarine / 2460 posts
@MommySLP: Same as @lilteacherbee. They mentioned it but since other testing was negative they weren't worried.

@mrsmacSLP: aww mama, I can't even imagine. Fingers crossed baby decides to come asap!!!
@JennyPenny: I know exactly how you feel - now that we are so close to our scheduled date, I want to make it! But I just want it to be here already!!!

@psw27: Yes! they're so good to me! Thanks love
@MapleMoose: They're gems! Thank you!! Well I'm thinking of doing something outside since it'll be so beautiful out. I can't believe it'll be our last Easter as a family of 3.

I can't believe today was the day I would have had my c-section if I hadn't asked to push to after Easter. So crazy to think I could have been holding my baby in a few hours. Feeling a little bit of regret about that decision but I'm sure it'll dissipate after I get to do fun Easter stuff with DS this weekend.
cantaloupe / 6791 posts
@JennyPenny: Aww, definitely enjoy being a family of 3 for one last weekend! My c-section is 3 weeks from today and I'm getting so impatient, but at the same time, I don't really wanna go early. I'm just exhausted and feeling done!

@JennyPenny: Awww but you're so right! You'll be able to enjoy this Easter with your babe before he becomes a big brother!

Had another doc appointment today. I had a cervical check and am at a 1.5 (and then she stretched it which hurt!)
I'm torn between wanting to go early and just get this done with, and wanting to wait till my mom gets into town (at 39 weeks) so she can watch DS. We have a few close friends we will rely on in a pinch. L&D for #2 is so much more logistically difficult!
nectarine / 2460 posts
@justjules: it really is! That's one of the big pluses I see to having a scheduled c-section even though it wasn't my initial birth plan. Easier to arrange childcare and no questions of "when will labor start?" or "how long until he's born?"

Had my 38 week appt this morning and I am 70% effaced, but 0 dialated. The effacement was a nice surprise. It was 20%last week. Not surprised that I'm not dilated, I haven't been having any contractions or cramping at all.
We're doing 4 (I think) easter egg hunts Friday, sat, Sunday, plus a birthday party. So this weekend is stuffed full of activities. I'll be feeling it on Monday for sure!

@justjules: The logistics with #2 are definitely more complicated! My mom has been here 2 weeks just in case and my MIL is coming Monday to switch out. I really thought this LO would be here by now!
@abbydabbydoodlebug: Glad you had a good appointment and there is some progress! Dilation seems to be so hit or miss on if it means anything!

@mrswilson2012: congratulations!
Two babies two days in a row. I think we need some boys on the board though. Lol
Nova had her first check up today. She is back at birth weight. Exact birth weight. She isn't jaundice or anemic which is what they were concerned about with the positive Coombs. I however and jaundiced and anemic. Just got all my meds and some extra tips on how to make myself more comfortable during recovery and to help me absorb the iron better.

Hey Ladies! W made it here with an unplanned c-section on 4/13 weighing in at 7lbs even and 22 inches. I'll update on my crazy birth story when we have some time.

@mrsmacSLP: Congratulations! So happy for you that your little boy is here. I had an unplanned c section with my first child. It was scary and recovery had some rough moments so make sure you take care of yourself too!

@mrsmacSLP: yay!!!!! The first boy! Hi W!!! He's adorable!! Congrats mama. I hope your recovery is quick! C-sections aren't fun but the sooner you start walking the better you'll feel. I swear!
DS is sick! I feel so horrible like of all weekends to get sick it happens to be the last one of us as a family of 3! His fever is down so I'm hoping he gets better asap!!

@bubblegum: oh no!!! I hope he feels better asap!!
I can not wait until Wednesday! I'm so tired of not being able to breathe and the discomfort of contractions every time I move around. I just want my lungs back too!!!
pomelo / 5220 posts
@bubblegum: oh no! Hope he's feeling better soon!
@ValentineMommy: I hear ya!!
Did a lot of walking yesterday and thought it might have started some progress but now nothing. If this little guy could wait till Tuesday I would be grateful!!

@bubblegum: Ahhh I'm sorry, horrible timing! Hope he's better soon!
@ValentineMommy: Yesss. I took DS1 to our town's spring festival this morning and after 20 min of walking, I was so exhausted. Oh, and last night I literally slept 4 hours because my insomnia is out of control Soooo ready for May 4th!! 19 days seems like forever away. Lots of y'all will be having babies in the next few days, though! So exciting!
pomelo / 5791 posts
@lilteacherbee: the insomnia is the WORST. DH doesn't understand how I can be so tired, and then not be able to fall asleep. I'm like "I can't get comfortable, I can't breathe, and my mind won't shut off!!!" Ugh. The last few weeks really do drag on!
