    @JennyPenny: @bubblegum: Yay for 8 days!

    I just had my 38 week appointment (2 days early). Baby has stayed head down (thank you LO) and she thinks is about 7-7.5 pounds. At this point it's just a waiting game. I'm so shocked he isn't here yet with all the contractions I had over the last 3 months!

    I'm excited for Easter but I haven't made any real plans since who knows what I'll be doing. I got eggs to fill for my son to have a hunt in the backyard and we will probably go out to brunch. My husband is running the Boston marathon the day after so we will be eating lots of pasta for dinner and praying that LO doesn't decide to come while he's running 26.2!!

    @bubblegum: DS has a daycare Easter egg hunt on Thursday, a neighborhood one on Saturday, and then we'll do one at home on Sunday. His basket is all ready and I'm really looking forward to it.

    The big thing we're trying to wrap up now is actually a temporary bed for me and DH. We bought a new king mattress on black friday and have been planning (putting off) a diy bedframe since then. Well, with knowledge of an upcoming c-section, sleeping on a mattress on the floor is no longer an option IMO. So he's rushing a temporary structure so we can get off the ground.

    @psw27: So happy!!
    Awww that's a great size babe!! Yeah I'm so shocked your babe is still baking with everything you've had going on. You're going natural right?

    Omg how crazy would that be if your babe decides to come then?! Fingers cross that doesn't happen

    @JennyPenny: Aww that sounds nice.

    Yes! That would not be ideal for you at all. Fingers crossed you're able to get it done asap! We actually we did our room two weekends ago and raised our bed a bit to make it easier for me to get outta bed after the c-section

    @JennyPenny: That's good thinking - you definitely don't want to be trying to get up off the floor (or anywhere too low) post c-section. Maybe you can just get an inexpensive metal frame and then put it up on the bed raisers we all used in college for more storage?

    @bubblegum: We have a plan in place if that does happen since my mom and his mom are both here, but I would be sad if he missed the birth! It is what it is, I can't control it and I'm supportive of him running it no matter what. I did it last year and it is way too much training to miss it! (I know this sounds insane to many people!)

    @psw27: Oh well that's great! I think it's awesome thing! I would love to do a run one day

    @bubblegum: I can't wait to run again... or walk without feeling like I'm a huge tortoise. Or sit up... or do anything hahaha.... pregnancy is exhausting!

    @psw27: @bubblegum: I don't run, but I'm so excited to be able to exercise like a normal person again. And to start getting smaller. And wine. My local winestore sent out an ad recently that they had the perfect dry rose in and I'm thinking about going and picking some up cause in a few weeks I can have it

    @JennyPenny: YESSSSSSSSSSSSS! I just told Dh the same thing this morning. I'm really thinking of getting some wine this weekend so that I have for when I get home from the hospital is that horrible?

    @psw27: @bubblegum: Oh my gosh, I used to run all the time, especially after DS1 was born. I miss it! Heck, I miss walking and not waddling or being out of breath

    DH is on spring break this week and it's so nice having more help with the boys. I'm feeling so huge and tired. Oh, and my hands have started going numb 😑 24 more days!! So jealous of y'all who have less than 10! Eeeek!!

  13. psw27

    pomelo / 5220 posts

    @JennyPenny: @bubblegum: @lilteacherbee: Yes to wine (I did have a couple of sips a few weeks ago. It was glorious!). And yes to being able to move around like a normal person! I never even slept on my stomach when I wasn't pregnant but I might have to take that up too!

  14. JennyPenny

    nectarine / 2460 posts

    @bubblegum: Not at all. I have (probably unrealistic) dreams that I'm going to spend my summer enticing friends to come over and drink wine with me out on our patio while I'm on leave. I get 2 extra weeks with the c-section so now I'll be out through early July. Feels crazy!

  15. bubblegum

    pear / 1717 posts

    @lilteacherbee: hahaha yes walking without trouble is for sure missed.

    @psw27: Soon enough we'll all be able to have wine!!

    @JennyPenny: It's not unrealistic! Especially with weekends! I want to do the same thing. Enjoy whatever outside I can get lol

    @bubblegum: giiiiirl, I have had a bottle of rose champagne in my fridge waiting to be opened since Jan!! haha.

    @lilteacherbee: My hands have been falling asleep really easily too! Especially at night. It's super annoying.

    @psw27: I had a mimosa at my sprinkle last weekend! My doctor told me last pregnancy that, "I can't say that it's ok to drink buuuuuut, my wife would have an occasional glass of wine during her pregnancies." That same doctor told me SIL at 38weeks (she had a super stressful pregnancy), to "go get yourself a beer. I mean, I can't SAY to go get one. But....go get one" Haha!

    Just an update from us: still sitting pregnant 😫 Had an appointment, now dilated to 3 with 50% effacement. Non stress test indicated this guy is perfectly happy in his womb. No contractions, he hated the monitor and kicked it so hard the machine beeped back at us.

    Official induction date moved to Sunday 4/16 as they're full for the week except for spontaneous labors. Fingers crossed he comes soon!

    @abbydabbydoodlebug: the good thing is, I'm not uncomfortable, I'm just ready to meet him!

    @JennyPenny: I have no idea! I had to ask if I went into labor would I be turned away?! Apparently they only take a certain number of inductions per week-and because my little guy is healthy and happy they're willing to let him stay longer.

    @mrsmacSLP: whattttt? That stinks! I remember when my first DS was due they told me that there was a "waiting list" to register at one hospital because his due date was "popular" (September is a busy month apparently.) I just remember thinking so what the heck happens if they are "busy"?! My little early bird made it a non-issue but it was the weirdest situation.

    So I realized last night that I never received any more info about my breast pump so I called today and sure enough the "order didn't go through" even though I have a confirmation email. So I just placed a new order over the phone. Hopefully this one goes through without any drama...

    just got back from my 38 week appt and asked if they could check to see if I'm dilated at all and she said I'm only at 1cm and not thinned out at all yet. With my first pregnancy i was 4cm dilated and 80%effaced for about a month before she was born so i was kind of hoping that was the case this time as well. I never felt any painful contractions with my first until i was actually in labor and was at the hospital within the hour of the first contraction and was able to get an epidural immediately so I'm hoping thats the case with this one as well and i don't have to wait. we shall see!

    @JennyPenny: Ugh annoying! My doctor is being a complete PITA about writing the prescription for mine... Last time the hospital handled it for me, I kind of wish I had just waited to do that this time.

    @MissLace: dilation is such a weird thing - you can be 0 cm and have a baby today! or you can be 4 cm for a full month! I'm curious to see if anything is happening when I go for my 39 week appointment next week.... I hope things start moving along for you!

    @littleblessings: Congratulations! Love the hair. How's your recovery so far?

    @mrsmacSLP: Wow! You're overdue and still so positive. I'm 40 weeks and so ready to get this baby out. You go, mama!

  29. mrsmacSLP

    apricot / 308 posts

    @psw27: I always wonder what happens if the 10 rooms they have are filled where do they send you?! That'd be nerve wracking!

    @JennyPenny: Ugh that is obnoxious! I had to wait for a week for my prescription to go through but the company online dealt with it all.

    @MapleMoose: You kind of have to be right? I wanted to go as "naturally" as possible and well the midwives listened! I honestly think his due date is wrong again. Even if it was originally 3/21!

  30. littleblessings

    @JennyPenny: she was born April 8th

    @MapleMoose: recovery has been alright. It was all back and right hip labor so I've been pretty stiff.

    @MissLace: when I was checked a week ago I was only at a 1. Went to the hospital Saturday at a 2 and had a baby 6 hours later. It's impossible to truly predict labor. I thought for sure we would make it to induction.

    @littleblessings: whoops! I'll update it next time I post the list. Apparently its too late to edit the old post.

    Ugh - feeling all crampy today. But its not crampy contractions which is how labor with DS1 started, so I think its just icky feelings. I don't want to go into labor now since I have everything squared away for next Tuesday.

    I think I finally hit my limit today. Two ladies in my birth group at the hospital due April 22nd both had their babies, then two friends due at the end of the month had theirs within the week they were due and I'm still pregnant. I'm sitting in my car before going into my ultrasound and NST balling my eyes out. My emotions are at an all time high.

    @mrsmacSLP: aww mama. I know you must be frustrated, I cannot even imagine how 41 weeks feels. xoxo. You cry if you need to cry!

    @JennyPenny: hopefully its nothing!

    nectarine / 2636 posts

    @mrsmacSLP: aww, I'm so sorry! That's how I felt with my first, except I was more mad at the world and would seriously hurt someone if they asked me if I had my baby yet. So. Frustrating. Big hugs to you!

  36. lilteacherbee

    @mrsmacSLP: I'm so sorry, I can't imagine how frustrated and emotional you must be at this point. I would be going crazy. Hang in there!

    @JennyPenny: Hopefully, he'll stay in for you. I really don't want to go before my scheduled date either (But I mean, I'd like for it to be here already...)

  37. JennyPenny

    nectarine / 2460 posts

    @mrsmacSLP: So sorry! It especially sucks since today was supposed to be your day right?

    I'm getting a crazy run around on my breast pump still. Got a call today that insurance denied my claim. Called insurance and they said "uh, we didnt see a claim and also you're totally covered." Called edgepark back and they said "well its cause its your 2nd pump." I double checked and I definitely qualify for a pump per pregnancy. I wonder if its getting messed up from the order that never went through. GAHH!!!

  38. MapleMoose

    grapefruit / 4213 posts

    @mrsmacSLP: It's totally normal to feel that way! Don't even sweat it. They let me go almost to 42 weeks before inducing #1, and I kept alternating between frustration and a helpless feeling because my body just wasn't doing anything. The end is in sight, I promise, and soon this will all be a distant memory as you snuggle your squish!

    @JennyPenny: Keep us updated! These babies have a mind of their own.

  39. MapleMoose

    grapefruit / 4213 posts

    I thought I'd be going to almost 42 weeks again before being induced this time, but my OB practice changed their policy in the few years that I've been there. Now they induce at 40+4. For me, that would be Easter Sunday and they only do inductions during weekdays. Soooo my induction is scheduled for 4/17!
    I had a closed, high cervix at 39 weeks. Now at 40 weeks I'm 2 cm dilated and 50% effaced. I knew something was happening down there because I've been having intense contractions and sharp pains. I still have a few days left to try for natural labor.

  40. JennyPenny

    nectarine / 2460 posts

    @MapleMoose: Looks like the next 7 days are definitely going to be busy one way or an another. Makes sense since we're 1.5 weeks into April and only had 1 additional birth so far.
