@Mrs D: Thanks, and very cute baby bump!

@JamieLee: Sorry to hear you are sick, I was told that Tylenol and Benadryl are safe to take, and I have taken both since becoming pregnant.

@Modern Daisy: 2 hours behind?! Wow!!! At least the nurses were able to be productive with you in the mean time!

    @Mrs D: LOL!! I'm from OK/TX so I say y'all all the time!

@Mrs D: haha I totally say ya'll when I'm feeling southern. I can't stop daydreaming about all things baby! It's unfair they expect us to work at such an exciting time!

@Modern Daisy: So glad to hear your appointment went well!

@.twist.: Seriously...could I just get paid to be a professional pregnant lady please and spend my day shopping and mentally decorating my nursery...

@lawbee11: Thank you thank you thank you! I bought a spray bottle nasal rinse kit. I thought it would be easier than the Neti pot that looks like a watering can. I feel soooo much better. I can actually breathe through my nose and my head feels less congested. This thing is AMAZING!

@Mrs D: I spend WAY too much time in an average day looking for the perfect baby furniture! I still haven't found it yet, but I figure I eventually will! I also peruse Pinterest quite a bit for nursery inspiration. What are you thinking-do you have a color scheme or a theme in mind?

@Modern Daisy: So glad your appointment went well!

@JamieLee: Seriously...best invention ever! I got so much satisfaction out of seeing all the mucus come out. While I had the cold I used it twice a day--once in the morning and once in the evening. Even now I have been using it once every 3-4 days just as a preventative measure. So glad you like it!

  9. Mrs D

    grapefruit / 4545 posts

@lawbee11: pardon my ignorance but what is a neti pot? I have been stuffy for a few days now too...I may need to look into this!

@JamieLee: I have visions of a neutral colored nursery with pops of gender specific color and playfulness. We plan to get espresso colored furniture and I would like to paint the walls a nice cream. I also am obsessed with this family tree idea my mom has that hopefully I can get DH on board with! I have a few childrens book quotes I'd like to incorporate in the decor. And I am thinking less of a nursery looking glider/rocker and more of a normal looking chair on rockers (like some of the ones at PB Kids)...But seriously...not that I have been mentally decorating it or anything

@Mrs D: It's basically a pot that comes with packets of a saline mixture and you dissolve the mixture with warm water. Then you put the tip of the pot into one nostril, tilt the pot and your head to the side, and the water goes up and into your sinuses then comes out the other nostril. Then you switch sides. It feels weird at first, but it really clears you out! It also is great at relieving sinus pressure/headaches. Here is the one I have (I think it was 9.99 at Walgreens):

    clementine / 930 posts

@Mrs D: that sounds really beautiful! I also don't care for the wood nursery gliders. I am dreaming of a soft fully upholstered one.

The nasal rinse Bottle I got is like this. You just put the tip up to your nose and squeeze. Easy peasy. Just make sure to breathe through your mouth or you'll get salt water in your mouth (eww).

@lawbee11: @JamieLee: Thanks for the info ladies!!

    Off to my appointment...fingers crossed!

So...they are trying to move my due date to Sept 3rd - well I guess they have moved it in their records. Which is fine and all, except I know what day I conceived (Dec 7th) which definitely has me as an August due date.

If its ok with you ladies I'm going to stick around the August boards until at least my NT scan when they do another US and can measure the baby maybe more accurately this time!

Otherwise the appointment was totally boring and a waste of time - since they claim I am only 10W they did not do a doppler...ugh!

  14. Grace

    cantaloupe / 6730 posts

@Mrs D: Isn't that almost a week's difference? Wht made them want to change it? I'm sorry you didn't get a chance at the doppler. If it makes you feel better, I've heard 11 weeks can be hit and miss with the doppler too.

Msmay and Modern Daisy: Congrats on great appointments! Glad everything is going as it should be.

@Mrs D: You're always welcome here, and will always be a part of our group!! Sorry the appointment was uneventful, but glad everything went well. Feel better soon!

@Mrs D: I had my IUI on Dec 7th and my due date is August 30th! I guess it can change based on how the baby is growing? But that seems like a big shift regardless. If the Dr.'s still insist it is Sept, you can always straddle both boards just in case! I was considering doing that myself when I was measuring a few days behind, but as of yesterday I'm now a few days ahead.

  17. lawbee11

    GOLD / watermelon / 14076 posts

@Mrs D: I wonder why they are estimating Sep. 3?? Of course you can stick around! Sorry it was boring and that you didn't get to hear the heartbeat, but your NT scan is right around the corner!

  18. .twist.

    pineapple / 12802 posts

@Mrs D: definitely stick around! Even if you join the september boards too and get to know those girls! We'll always count you as an august mama! They've shifted my date 4 times

Is anyone else kind of waiting for the next "thing" to happen? Second trimester started. Symptoms mostly disappeared except sore boobs. My bump doesn't seem to be growing unless I eat a meal... What's next?! What is on everyone's timeline right now that they need to get done or are planning to accomplish in the next few weeks!?

  19. Mrs D

    grapefruit / 4545 posts

Thanks ladies!!! I appreciate the support!

Like I said, I plan to wait out any real changes until my NT Scan on Feb 22...if they agree that the baby is at pace for Sept 3 I'll go with it but until then I am sticking with 8/28.

I told the nurse that I was sure it was wrong and she said "well how can you be sure honey" and I said "well the last time my husband and I had sex before my BFP was Dec 7th and then I was gone in India for 10 days..." shut her right up

Haha...retail therapy! FYI Old Navy is having their baby sale now (up to 40% off) which includes maternity, so I just got:

    -Khaki Maternity Pants
    -Maternity Jean Capri’s
    -Cute Maternity Top
-Set of 5 short sleeve onsies (0-3M)
-Set of 3 long sleep onsies (0-3M)
-6 pairs of plain white socks (0-3M)

    All for $70 delivered! Woohoo!

    I feel better already!

@.twist.: Yes! I start the second trimester tomorrow (woo-hoo!), but I am really excited to find out the gender and feel movement. I really want to feel some baby kicks! So I am just kinda in limbo right now. At least I am not in nauseous limbo

@Mrs D: That's a great deal! I will have to check it out!

Question: Are most of y'all on Facebook? I was thinking that now that most of us are in (or are about to be in) our second trimester that we could start a secret Facebook group. When it's secret, no one can see that you've joined it or anything you post. I think we should keep most of our discussions/questions here, but I'd like to be able to post more pics (and would be more comfortable doing so on Facebook). We could post bump pics, u/s pics, nursery progress pics, pics of our babies when they get here, etc. We could still post some of those pics here, but sometimes I want to post a lot! Haha! What do y'all think? If you like the idea, I can create the group!

    pineapple / 12802 posts

@lawbee11: OMG. The other day I just laid as still as possible and barely breathing to see if I could feel anything! LOL. Wishful thinking at 14 weeks!

Also, I am 100% down with the secret FB group. I agree about photo posting and stuff. I don't post as many photos here as I'd like to (or have plans to).

@Mrs D: Thanks a lot for your post! I just stocked up as well. I really need a lot of summer maternity clothes since that is when our third trimester is going to take place!

I got 9 items: 5 tees/tanks, a maxi dress, white jean shorts, denim skirt and a denim jacket for $138, not too shabby! I like that it's free shipping and free returns, I"m okay spending a little more that way knowing I can send whatever I don't like back without any hassle.

I like the secret FB idea too!

    @lawbee11: I'm down with a Facebook group.

@Mrs D: I so need to check that sale out! I saw it in my email this morning. And you should definitely need to stick around!

@.twist.: I'm waiting to get to the second trimester. I've heard it starts at 13 weeks or 14 weeks. What do you all think?

  26. Mrs D

    grapefruit / 4545 posts

@lawbee11: I'm in for the facebook group too!

@JamieLee: One of my phone apps congratulated me about the second tri at 13 weeks, the other app congratulated me at 14 weeks. haha I think it's a toss up!?

So annoyed. The Canadian Old Navy website doesn't offer maternity clothing! I wonder if the US site ships to Canada.... searching nowww....

ETA: ! seems they do ship to Canada. Did you ladies just order your regular size? I've never ordered clothing online before.

Had my appointment that morning and my dr couldn't find the heartbeat with the doppler (12 weeks). I know that sometimes you can't hear it, but of course, I'm worried. She's scheuling an urgent dating ultrasound to see what's up. I'm sure it's fine, but why???????? The only thing that I've been super worried about is a missed miscarriage and I now I'm scared it might come true. Gahhhhhhh! I really wish U/S in doctor's offices were common here.

  30. .twist.

    pineapple / 12802 posts

@Grace: Oh, I really hope it's all fine for you as well! I've heard that it can be hard to hear even at 12 weeks!

I also wish that u/s were more common in doctor's offices. Hopefully you hear back SOON and can go in for a u/s ASAP!

@.twist.: @Modern Daisy: @JamieLee: @Mrs D: Cool! I tried to create it, but it looks like I have to add people to create it, and I can't add you unless you're my friend on Facebook. So, email me at lawbee11@gmail.com, and I will tell you my name and show you a pic of what my profile picture looks like (I have a semi-common name, so it might be kinda hard to find me without the pic). Oh, and in the email please include your HB username so I don't friend any random internet weirdos! Thanks!

  32. lawbee11

    GOLD / watermelon / 14076 posts

@Grace: So sorry they weren't able to find it, but I am sure that is very common this early on. Just think positive thoughts...I am sure everything is fine! And this way you'll get to see the baby! Keep us updated!

    pineapple / 12802 posts

@lawbee11: Done. Thanks for organizing all this.

  34. Modern Daisy

    grapefruit / 4187 posts

@Grace: I hope everything is okay sweetie! I hope you get some answers soon!!

@.twist.: I try to read the reviews first before picking a size, but usually just order my regular size. Sometimes everyone says it comes really big so I'll go down a size.

@lawbee11: Thanks! I just sent you my info so you'd better not be an internet weirdo lol!!

  35. lawbee11

Our Facebook group has been created! So far @.twist. and I are the only members! E-mail me or friend me to join!

    grapefruit / 4187 posts

@lawbee11: Oh wait, actually I'm scared to join the group before I announce - will anyone on FB see that I"m a now a member of it??

  37. lawbee11

    GOLD / watermelon / 14076 posts

@Modern Daisy: Nope! Totally hidden! (I haven't announced to everyone yet, either.)

  38. .twist.

    pineapple / 12802 posts

@Modern Daisy: Nope, totally hidden. any comments or photos or even just the group is totally private from the rest of your facebook life!

  39. Mrs D

    grapefruit / 4545 posts

@Modern Daisy: dont worry I am paranoid too - I just double checked my page after I joined to make sure and there was no mention of it!

  40. .twist.

    pineapple / 12802 posts

Just for more comfort since I know some of you are paranoid. If you hover your mouse over the lock symbol beside the group name it gives a little description about who can see what.
