@Mrs D: @Alivoo01: @Grace: Thanks for your well wishes on the kittle! He's doing cautiously better now. My mother took him for the weekend and now I'm neurotic and will be asking my dr to check for toxoplasmosis at my next dr's appointment.

The nausea is gone. I repeat: The Nausea Is Gone!!!!! OMG to feel NORMAL again! So let it be noted: at week 15 it stopped. Hopefully the same holds true for you girls (if not sooner) and this provides some comfort :).

@lawbee11: My U/S appointment was almost exactly like yours, right down to the bedside manner. I also have an alien pic ;D.

She didn't even tell us how far along I was; in fact, she asked me for the duedate. LOVING the idea of a Facebook group! email away!

@Mrs Hedgehog: I want to do a gender reveal party ^_^. Complete with inside-colored cake.

@msmay: @StbHisMrs: congrats on good appointments!!

@Mrs D: what a cute bump! I'm still waiting for my fat to redistribute. Right now I have two bumps XD;;. Thanks for the heads-up on old navy...enjoy your trip!

@StrawberryBee: Ok I think I just added you as a friend. Let me know if you didn't get a request because that probably means I added the wrong person!

@Modern Daisy: I vote for surprise reveal too! I've heard that when people know the gender, you end up with way too many clothes and people buying off-registry a lot more. And the cake idea is so fun! Since we're not finding out the gender, DH and I decided we're going to have people place bets at the shower for gender, weight/length, guess at names. Whoever comes closest will get the first picture once baby is here!

    @.twist.: I LOVE that pattern!

@StrawberryBee: eeee! Hi baby! And I'm glad to hear your kitty is doing better! Congrats on the nausea being gone as well. Mine has definitely lightened up, but there are times it hits like a truck. Let's just say I would love to brush my teeth without throwing up, yuck.

DH and I are at my mom's house this weekend. We're telling the parents today! (So nervous....!!!!!!)

@StrawberryBee: Hey, alien or not, I am jealous of that picture! Our OB only offers 3 U/S. 8 wks, 20 wks, and 37 wks. Period. If we want any others we have to find somewhere else to do them.

We have our next 12 wk appt on Wed and I am SO looking forward to hearing the heartbeat. I wish I could see a picture too since the baby no longer looks like a weird shaped lima bean and actually looks like a baby! But the next time we see our baby we will also find out the gender!

@.twist.: Also, I am IN LOVE with your color choices. I seriously wish we could do our nursery in those but Mr. Hedgie HATES yellow for some insane reason... maybe I will find some way to get him over that.

  11. StrawberryBee

    nectarine / 2530 posts

@Mrs Hedgehog: My first U/S was at 12 weeks, they didn't offer an 8 week one. And that was only because I chose the NT scan. I believe the next one will be between 18 and 20 (anatomy scan, woot!). Not sure what comes after that.

If it helps, "Butter" by Restoration Hardware is a very pretty yellow paint color. I've used it in several rooms. Some other paint stores have the color in their computer and can replicate it (Sherwin Williams maybe?).

    Hey ladies!

Telling the parents went great! It was my mom's birthday so I had her read her card out loud with all of our parents present. It was a "to grandma" card and it was signed: "Happy Birthday, Grandma! Can't wait to meet you in August!" My in-laws picked it up right away, but my mom just kind of sat there confused for a few seconds! They were all really excited, it was fun!

Is anybody else already suffering from hip pain? It started last week almost right at 11 weeks for me. At first I was just when I was sleeping, whatever side I was laying on, even my back. And now it happens randomly throughout the day. It gets especially bad at work when I have to sit for 12 hours. I try to stand a bunch to stretch it out but it doesn't help much. Now, I have always had "childbearing hips" which before now were a blessing because they gave me some nice curves.... I'm really wondering if that has something to do with it. Did relaxin surge early? I have already started to pee a little when I cough hard... (It happened last night and Mr Hedgie wanted to post it on Facebook...jerk!) It isnt like the baby is big enough to cause all this!

@Mrs D: First class to Florida for vaca?! I'm jealous!!

@Mrs Hedgehog: I have lower back pains that started about 3 weeks ago. I go to a chiropractor every other week to get adjusted. It helps alleviate the pain, but never fully takes it away. I sit in front of a computer all day M-F than am on my feet all day on the weekends. =(

@StrawberryBee: Yay for a good appointment and ultrasound pix!!

hi ladies. sorry i pop in every once in a while, but i do try to read every now and then. DS has been teething and going through a growth spurt and sick so it's been tons of fun with him :o)

so as of right now my due date is August 15th. i had my NT scan last tuesday and they measured the baby a week and 1 day ahead, so i don't know if my doc will change my due date based on that or waIt for my anatomy scan on March 25th, or just keep it the 15th(i'm hoping for him to move it up! although i'll be a scheduled c-section this time, so no going past, or even to my due this time!!) my next appointment is feb. 28th. so we'll see. everything looks great with the baby, NT scan results came back normal. still lots of nausea...hoping it goes away soon! it's so different being pregnant this time. last time i never got nauseous and wasn't nearly as tired, but my doc is right, i can't really rest this time with a 9 month old running around that i have to chase after all day! we don't know what we are having yet, but we ARE finding out(props to you mamas who are team green, i could never do it!) but the baby wasn't being a little uncooperative at the NT scan so she had a guess, so we just told her to wait until our next appointment to tell us for sure :o)

    @msmay: Glad it went well!

@Modern Daisy: I meant to respond to you before now but forgot. I think the gender reveal at the shower sounds like a great idea (but I agree that you shouldn't tell anyone you are finding out before then--people are so weird about that stuff!).

@greenebee: Welcome!! We are due right around the same time

Am I the only crazy one that has already bought some baby gear? The crib I have been drooling over was on major sale on Amazon, so we had to snag it! And my mom wanted to buy our stroller for us for my birthday, so of course we weren't going to turn her down! We decided on the UppaBaby Cruz...DH and I both love it! DH put it together this weekend and I "drove" it all around our house like a crazy woman! Here are some pics of it:

@sarbear: a week and a day ahead?! Wow! That's a lot!! I was measuring 3 days ahead at my dating ultrasound so they moved my due date from the 9th to the 12th. Then at my NT scan, the baby was measuring 1 day ahead of that, but we're keeping my due date the same for now.

@lawbee11: The hubby and I bought the car seat this past weekend because we cashed in on BRU's 25% off trade-in event. We got the Chicco KeyFit 30. We're looking at the City Select for a stroller, but will need to look into the uppababy Cruz as it looks very similar to the City Versa which is a contendor for us also!

@Mrs Hedgehog: no hip pain for me, but I had some lower back pain around weeks 8-10. Hope it goes away soon!

    @greenebee: Hi! Welcome

@sarbear: I know you must be excited to find out next time! Did you find out the sex with your 9-month-old?

@lawbee11: I have not purchased any baby gear yet but DH and I are talking about making our first trek to BBB this weekend- eeek! We have not started looking into strollers yet, but we also haven't figured out if we're going to need a new car or not

  29. JamieLee

    clementine / 930 posts

@msmay: We're also trying to figure out our car situation. My car is fine (Jeep Liberty) but hubby has a single cab Dodge Ram and it's not practical for a car seat. I mean, he could turn the airbag off, but there's no way we could go anywhere as a family in it...We're trying to decide if we'll just get by with him rarely (if ever) driving the baby. My biggest objection is that I will NEVER be able to go anywhere in my car by myself and I HATE driving his truck (it's so big, it's like a school bus). But, money is tight, so unless we can sell his truck for a lot and get a great deal, looks like I'm just going to have to suck it up and deal for now.

Just had my ultrasound and everything's great! Such a relief, I've been a ball of nerves since last Thursday, but baby was there moving around with a heartbeat of 152. Has a head and torso and arms and legs and everything. Soooooooooo happy!

@Grace: Yay for an ultrasound and a good appointment!!

Another change I noticed during the 2nd trimester is that I no longer have a pee marathon in the middle of the night. I used to go 3-4 times a night, but now, I can go just once!! Anyone else experiencing this or am I not drinking enough water/liquids? I don't really keep track, guess I should be.

@Grace: That's awesome!! So glad everything is ok!!

@Alivoo01: Wow! I have not slept through the night without peeing, but I usually only have to go once a night. Sometimes twice, but never 3-4x! I try to drink a ton of water in the morning and afternoon, then slowly lessen the amount I drink before bed so that I am not up constantly.

So I am wondering if anyone is starting to seriously think about names. I've been thinking about it a lot this month, and am wondering if anyone can give me advice/opinions. We're going to keep it secret from our loved ones until the baby is born, but I need some assistance from impartial people!

For a girl, I'm wavering between Cynthia and Kathleen for middle names. I really think I want to go with Cynthia, for my mom who passed away two years ago (yesterday actually). My concern is, there's not a lot of names that flow with Cynthia for a middle name. Do you really think flow matters that much, considering the full name isn't said that often...Anyways, it's something that has been on my mind a lot! Kathleen would be my second choice, for a dear friend who passed away 9 years ago (also in February...does anyone else hate February)? Anyways, some of my favorites are:

    Autumn
    Camryn
    Clare
    Ella
    Georgia
    Gillian
    Grace
    Hailey
    Harper
    Isabel
    Leighton
    Norah
    Reagan
    Samantha
    Skylar
    Summer
    Sydney
    Tara
    Tessa
    Virginia
    Violet

Do any of these go well with Cynthia in your opinion?

  36. Alivoo01

    wonderful olive / 19353 posts

@JamieLee: We have been thinking of names, and the hubby is already pre-naming the baby even though we haven't officially decided on one yet. He's currently calling him Collin Maddox. haha!

I like Isabel or Hailey Cynthia.

  37. Modern Daisy

    grapefruit / 4187 posts

@JamieLee: I LOOVe the name Violet and it was my first choice until I realized that it's too close to 'violent' and those of you who are in the FB group who know what my last name is realize how mean that would be. If I had a normal last name, that would be my first choice!

I am letting DH name our first baby and possibly even all of our children. It's already made him bond with the baby a lot more than I think he would be at this point because he's calling the baby by the 'names' already. But we are both sworn to secrecy until it's on the birth certificate, I might not even share his favorites on HB bc I am so paranoid lol!

  38. lawbee11

    GOLD / watermelon / 14076 posts

@JamieLee: I think Hailey, Leighton, Reagan & Violet all sound good with Cynthia (Violet is my fave of those four).

@Modern Daisy: LOL! Yeah, that would be really mean. At least you thought of it now and not after it was too late!

Have y'all seen the most recent Modern Family episodes? DH refers to our baby as "Fulgencio" and it drives me insane!

  39. JamieLee

    clementine / 930 posts

@Modern Daisy: I had to go check the FB group to see what you were talking about! Haha. You do have to be careful with what you pick, don't you. I do too, for other reasons. I've threatened to name our baby Mindy! Really, any M name sounds terrible with our last name though!

My hubby is on the fence about Violet because of the TV show Private Practice and the character Violet. I only made him watch the show for a couple years, but he hated that character soooo much, he is having trouble with it!
