@.twist.: @lawbee11: @Modern Daisy: Thanks. I did some internet searching and it seems very common. So I'll look on the bright side of getting an early U/S.
I don't have a facebook account, so I hope you ladies don't all disappear!!

Thanks ladies!! I just had my friend check my profile to see if she could see it and she couldn't.
I once tried to upload a private video (the 'surprise' from a friends surprise party) and I logged in as DH just to check and could totally see it. So I don't trust FB lol!

@lawbee11: Sent you an email about joining the FB
@.twist.: I'm also anxiously waiting for the next thing. My belly definitely pops after a meal! haha!
@Mrs D: When we went to BuyBuyBaby after our NT scan and found out the gender, hubby was like we're having a monkey theme! haha! Other than that, we know we'll have espresso furniture and we've picked out a glider/ottoman, but that's about it.

I told work about my pregnancy today. Ugh such a relief! I was going to wait another week or two (I am 13w tomorrow) but we have a big work party on Saturday night (open bar, the whole shebang) and I was worried someone would call me out for not drinking (since I normally do drink at work functions). I was also worried about finding an outfit to hide my nighttime bump! So I just got it off my chest and am so glad I did. Everyone is really happy for me!

@lawbee11: yay! That is so awesome. I know I felt such a relief when I told work. Even though I knew it wouldn't be a big deal. I was totally nervous!
Does anyone else have to train a replacement for their time off? I have been looking at resume's for someone who will replace me and then I get to train them. oh joy! LOL

@lawbee11: That would be so awesome! I gotta admit, I am terrible at posting on here... I mean really terrible. But I am on facebook more than any 1 person should be! Lol.

@Mrs D: Thanks for posting this! I just scored some maternity gear for a steal at ON!
@Grace: This is exactly what happened to me! (at 11w1) If it makes you feel better, it was more a matter of baby not being impressed with someone moving the doppler around where he/she was hanging out. Once we had the ultrasound, baby was super squirmy and bouncy. The tech actually had to stop the abdominal ultrasound and do a transvaginal just so baby would calm down enough to get the heartbeat!
@Alivoo01: aww, monkeys! I haven't started thinking of nursery themes yet- I think it's still too far away for me to wrap my head around. Plus we really need to clean out the spare bedroom first!
@lawbee11: glad you were able to tell and feel relieved! I actually told my supervisor today because I've been dead on my feet and I was worried she was going to ding me on my performance. I was so nervous but she was great about it!
I think I may pass on the fb group for now. I know it's a secret group but I am uber paranoid about fb

@Grace: oh goodness! When will you get your ultrasound? I wish they could have gotten you in today! If it makes you feel better a friend of mine is due in July and when she went for her 11 week appt they couldn't find the heartbeat by Doppler so they sent her for an ultrasound and the baby was just fine! Keep us posted. Positive thoughts!

@lawbee11: Thanks! I will email you soon. Also I am so jealous you were able to wait this long! I had to tell my supervisor the second we found out because I work in a jail and couldnt risk getting physical with an inmate... I miss being able to do something other than stare at cameras all day!
pineapple / 12802 posts
@Mrs Hedgehog: you work in a jail??? cooooool. I want to ask so many questions! hahaha.
cantaloupe / 6730 posts
@msmay: @skipper2010: That does make me feel better. I've been reading stories like that all day, so I'm calmer now. Thanks! I imagine I'll go for the U/S next week. Apparently, they have to check the HCG levels first.

@Grace: I am sorry for how your appointment went! If it makes you feel any better they told me yesterday that the doppler is "not even guaranteed to hear a heartbeat at 12 weeks" when they were explaining why they wouldn't do one for me. Fingers crossed all goes well with your dating u/s! I freaked out yesterday when they moved my due date (I really feel I am 11W not 10W because I am so confident on when I conceived) and it made me panic that there could be something wrong with the baby which is why it was measuring small in my 7W u/s.
Everyone just keeps saying "you still have symptoms so take comfort in that"...UGH! HUGS to you!

So...its not totally a "freezer" recipe but it is a recipe where you could freeze all the "fresh" ingredients and just add the canned ones real time. I made this stew last night and it was phenomenal! I have been looking for a new stew recipe for a while and this one may just be it:
Note: I went a little heavier on the beef broth (close to 24oz) and basically just browned the meat then added everything else. (I have a crock pot that browns too so I do it all in one pot) Also I added canned peas instead of frozen and I added about 10oz of white mushrooms quartered!
I'm in the process of collecting recipes for freezer meals which I am going to start trying out without the freezing to determine which I like. My co-worker is going to do this too and we are going to share leftovers (we both have picky husbands who dont like to eat leftovers) so we can get through the list of recipes faster! I'll keep you guys posted!

@msmay: We haven't cleaned out the room for the baby yet either, but we've started browsing for nursery furniture. I'm hoping to have the room cleared out by March/April.
@Mrs Hedgehog: Wow!! You're freakin gangster for being a female working in a jail!! haha!
@Mrs D: What's up with hubby's that don't eat leftovers?! Mine isn't a fan of leftovers either unless it's his favorite meal.

For ladies in the second trimester, do you feel like your appetite has shrunk? I no longer have cravings, and I never feel hungry. When I do eat, I feel nauseous. Am I finally getting "morning sickness"?????
pineapple / 12802 posts
@Alivoo01: oh wow. YES. I feel like I can't eat as much and am not as ravenous as I was in the first tri. I also sometimes feel a bit funny after I eat! However, I still find that if I don't eat OFTEN enough I feel funny too! lose-lose with the food. lol.
grapefruit / 4187 posts
@Mrs D: Yay for more freezer recipes!
@Alivoo01: I'm at the end of my first trimester, but I've already noticed my hunger has almost disappeared. I feel a little queasy if I eat too big a breakfast, but I am okay eating big at other meals. My cravings have disappeared and everything just tastes 'blah' to me. I went to an awesome restaurant last night and could not enjoy it!
grapefruit / 4187 posts
As far as disappearing to the FB group, that definitely will not happen to me. I only have the mobile access at work, so I can surf my newsfeed and send friend requests, but not much else. I totally prefer HB during work hours!

I just had an idea about finding out the gender I wanted to see what you ladies thought. I definitely want to do a private gender reveal (blue or pink cake) for DH and I once we are able to find out the sex. But I really don't want to get all pink or all blue stuff at my shower, so I was thinking of waiting until the shower to announce the sex to the rest of the world. What do you all think about that? Is it do-able? Will people think it's weird?
GOLD / watermelon / 14076 posts
@Alivoo01: Yes! But it's pretty much been this way for me the entire pregnancy. I cannot eat as much as I used to be able to in one sitting, but I find myself snacking a lot more (like I get hungrier quicker). It drives me insane because I will feel so hungry and order a ton of food then only be able to eat half of it before I am stuffed!
I am also 13w today and have still only gained 1.5 pounds. (I was in the normal range pre-preg, so I am supposed to gain 25-30lbs). I have been trying to snack on healthy-fat foods like nuts and avocado, but nothing! I never thought I'd be complaining about not gaining enough weight.
pineapple / 12802 posts
@Modern Daisy: I totally thought about doing this (because I also don't want ALL pink or ALL blue stuff) and got a lot of negative feedback.
A lot of people said they want to know before they buy their gift. I dunno. It's your baby but everyone else wants a say, I'm pretty frustrated about this part of pregnancy.
grapefruit / 4187 posts
@.twist.: I would actually do it as a surprise reveal. My plan is to tell everyone we aren't finding out the sex beforehand, then BAM announce it at the shower somehow. That way no one can give us a hard time beforehand, but they still won't be able to buy us all pink or blue accessories.
pineapple / 12802 posts
@Modern Daisy: Oh. That is sneaky!!! I like it! I shouldn't have told people we were going to find out the gender. Dammit!
pineapple / 12802 posts
@Modern Daisy: That is true! I'll have to run it by my husband and see. haha
OH. and as for nursery themes, I think I mentioned a while ago how we're doing grey and yellow. Well, my mom is big on quilting and she makes lovely quilts. She's making me a baby quilt (not for the crib, don't worry!) and she just found one of the accent fabrics she'll be using!
pineapple / 12802 posts
@Alivoo01: thanks! that's just the accent piece, so only a portion of the quilt will be that, the rest will be just soft solid colours. The pattern is actually really nice I can't wait until it's finished

@Modern Daisy: I think that's an awesome idea! Makes the shower more memorable for the guests too.
@lawbee11: @.twist.: Yeah, so far pregnancy has been an awesome weight loss strategy. I'm down 6 lbs. So weird.
kiwi / 597 posts
@Modern Daisy: I think a surprise gender reveal at the shower sounds like fun! And it's a perfect way to ensure you get gender neutral gifts. I say go for it!
@lawbee11: At 13 weeks I had also only gained one pound. Now at 15 weeks I'm up 3 pounds and I swear my belly popped overnight! I literally came home from work one day and said "where did this come from???" It was still there when I tried to suck in so it's not bloat. Now I'm afraid I'm going to start gaining weight too quickly. So don't worry as long as you're eating well the weight will come.
@.twist.: LOVE that color combination!!
