@StrawberryBee: I just love shelties. My grandparents had one when I was a kid. They are too cute. Sadly DH doesn't like one because he's done work for a lady who had one and that dog barked more than any dog I've ever seen. He also doesn't care for small dogs...

Loving all these pet pictures!! We have a black cat, but I don't have any pictures of her with me
@Alivoo01: Skip Hop diaper bags on Gilt today!
GOLD / watermelon / 14076 posts
@Alivoo01: They also have aden + anais stuff, too!
I had a $70 Gilt credit (I bought a dress a few months ago that I returned) and I have been waiting for them to have a+a stuff. So I used my credit to buy 2 sets of bamboo swaddling blankets! Eek can't wait til they get here!

@lawbee11: there's so much on Gilt right now that I want! Still trying to wait till we know what we're having before buying much!

So I've decided to pass on the job...looks like I'll be a stay at home mom for the time being. The offer was lower than I wanted and more than half of my paycheck would be going to daycare and gas...I don't want to work just to be able to work! They also work till 6 everyday and 7 or 8 often, and the healthcare would be outrageously expensive.
Kind of disappointed I won't have some more disposable income for the time being, but I think everything happens for a reason! I am Excited to be able to stay home and put some more effort into my home based design business and eventually be able to be home with the baby.

@lawbee11: I ordered the second ones in grey, they are so lovely.
@JamieLee: Aw, bummer about the job offer. Sounds like it wasn't an ideal job for you anyway. Maybe it's for the best and, as you said, now you can focus more on being a mommy!
GOLD / watermelon / 14076 posts
@JamieLee: Sorry the job didn't work out, but it sounds like you made the right decision for you. And it does sound like working there with a newborn would be very stressful.
@.twist.: I saw the grey ones--they are gorgeous! I told myself I was going to buy more gender neutral things, but now that I know we're having a girl I just can't! I am terrified that they're going to tell me it's a boy at our anatomy scan--I will have a lot of returning to do!

@JamieLee: Darn! Too bad it wasn't a better offer, but it sounds like you are ok with the trade off.

@JamieLee: Sorry the job didn't work out, but as you said, you'll get to re-focus on your design business and spend more time with your baby!! Can't beat that!
@.twist.: I totally registered for the grey ones! They're the same price on Gilt as Amazon so if they don't get picked up, I won't feel bad missing out on a deal.

@.twist.: @lawbee11: @Grace: @Alivoo01: Thanks ladies! I'm sure it would have ended up making me miserable. They didn't seem very family-friendly. This will be much better now!

@.twist.: @JamieLee: Thanks! We really lucked out with our Sheltie. She does bark, but not as much as the other two. She also has an immediate shut off, whereas the others need to be coaxed a little bit more to stop alarming us about the neighbors moving their trash can. Our Sheltie is very leggy/tall (the result of puppy mill breeding, yay!), so a lot of people think she's a border collie.
I've been around Shelties who are super high pitched barkers, and it's enough to drive you mad.
My other problem with the dogs and the baby is that I don't want them licking her :/. I think I can get away with using the 'leave it' command. I know what they eat out in that backyard, and I want no parts of it on my child!
@lawbee11: I know what you mean about buying pink stuff ;). I'm tempted by the Aden & Anais, but it's the same price as Amazon so I think I'll hold off. Let me know how the bamboo feels!
@JamieLee: This is kind of the same position my husband would be in; he'd be working to pay daycare. Sounds like you made a good call!
pineapple / 12802 posts
@StrawberryBee: Yea I will have to tell our dog the baby is "mine" so that he leaves it alone or else he'd lick it to death! LOL
Also, I have some of the bamboo A+A swaddles and they are like touching clouds. So freaking soft. I have heard on multiple occasions that they are a little harder to swaddle with than the regular cotton muslin ones because they are just so smooth and silky that they have a slippery texture. I can really see how that is possible, especially compared to the regular ones (I have the bamboo & the original ones).

OH and how are everyone's belly buttons?! Mine is almost completely flat. I just put lotion on my belly and I swear my belly button is shallower than it was this morning!

@.twist.: I noticed this last night after I hopped out of the shower and looked at myself in the mirror!!! I was like wait a minute, my belly button is more shallow!!!!

I'm starting my freezer cooking planning. I'm starting by compiling recipes from my Pinterest page in one document, then I will make a calendar of how many days I want to have meals done (I'm thinking I might make some extras for the last month, when it's going to be super hot and I'll be super pregnant as well). Then I'm going to start picking which ones I want to make and I'll start a grocery list. I'm thinking I'll break up the cooking over several weeks so it's not so overwhelming. I'll be happy to share when I'm done!
I just realized that this means I have to clean out our gross deep freezer in the basement so we can turn it on...ick! We lost power last March and just grabbed all the food out of it, but when the ice build up melted, it got mildew-ey. It's out of sight and out of mind, so it hasn't been on my list until now!

@.twist.: Belly button - definitely shallower. How crazy! Its used to be super deep, and now its not even up to my first knuckle (yes...this is a measuring tool). Also....are you getting SO excited for Thursday? I can't wait!
You GUYS. Baby totally just moved. Honestly, it felt like bubbles, but low in my belly and really strong. Ah! So excited.
@lawbee11: Everything on Gilt today is awesome! I think we might order DH the grey SkipHop bag, because it is MUCH manlier than the purple Lululemon bag I plan to use. I love the Halo sleep sacks and the a&a blankets...but since we're finding out gender in TWO DAYS, I need to hold off on purchases.
pineapple / 12802 posts
@redsmarties: Oh. My. God. So, I was CONVINCED that I had my appointment tomorrow. So, when you said thursday I was like "giiiiiirl, you mean tomorrow"! BUT then I checked and it's really thursday! I even took tomorrow off work! waaaaaaaaaah.
Ps. fingers are totally belly button measuring tools.
blogger / honeydew / 7081 posts
@.twist.: Oh nooo! That's the worst kind of disappointment. Is it too late to switch your day off?
pineapple / 12802 posts
@redsmarties: haha it's the worst for sure. It's not too late at all, I just was SO looking forward to tomorrow. hahaha I feel so silly now but I am SO happy that you reminded me otherwise I would have gone to 2 appointments tomorrow that are on thursday! LOL

Everyones pet pictures are adorable! They put a smile on my face!
@.twist.: My innie is quickly turning into an outie and I am not a fan! lol It looks so deformed right now. lol
@redsmarties: You're finding out the gender in two days?? How exciting!! Can't wait to hear!

@.twist.: I dont know that mine has changed much - but my skin has been all itchy so I know it is stretching.
@JamieLee: This was my approach. I have an ongoing list I am trying out the recipes for and I have a master plan starting in late June going through Mid August - by the end of it I should have enough meals/soup frozen to get me through Mat leave!
How is everyone doing working out? I am struggling SO much! I'm just too tired and have to pee way too often to even think of getting on a treadmill! Ugh! I think I am going to have to make DH force me onto the treadmill - I know I'll regret it if I dont...
kiwi / 597 posts
@Mrs D: I've gotten myself into a workout routine and I've been surprisingly sticking with it. I use the treadmill two nights a week and I have two pregnancy exercise DVD's that I use two nights a week for light cardio/strength training. I've heard such great things about exercising while pregnant such as an easier pregnancy (less aches/pains/fatigue etc), a possibly easier labor and delivery, and some studies even show that babies of moms who exercise during pregnancy are "less cranky and less likely to have colic." So anytime I'm feeling lazy I use that as my motivation.
grapefruit / 4545 posts
@skipper2010: What DVDs do you have? I have done some looking on Amazon but I cant decide which ones to get!
I think my problem is I keep thinking about workouts as my pre-preg workouts and trying to do it every day which I know I dont need to do! I like your approach - and your motivation! I'm hoping now that I am feel much better (I realized this AM that its been a few days since I felt icky) I can get on the treadmill a few days a week!
cantaloupe / 6730 posts
@Mrs D: I haven't worked out since Christmas. I've just been feeling too bad. But, I've been feeling much more human this last week, so I'm thinking I should get moving again. Amazing how out of habit it's become.
GOLD / watermelon / 14076 posts
@.twist.: My belly button is still in, but definitely more shallow! Getting excited for tomorrow?! What time is your appointment??
@redsmarties: Eeek! Exciting that you felt baby move! I am 17w5d and still haven't felt anything
@Mrs D: I've been keeping up with my exercise routine pretty well. 3-4x a week on the treadmill for 40 minutes + light hand weights afterwards. It's a struggle to get started but I always feel better afterwards!
wonderful olive / 19353 posts
@Mrs D: I haven't worked out in heck who knows how long! Now that the weather is getting warmer and the sun is out longer, I told the hubby we need to start our evening walks again. We normally do about 3 miles so I'm looking forward to it. Hopefully, it'll also help keep my weight gain in check.
@redsmarties: I'm jealous you felt the baby move!! I can't wait till I start feeling the movements!
How's everyone's sleep? I was so excited at the start of my second trimester because I was sleeping through the night and well. This week, omg! I can't get a good nights rest at all! Not sure if it's because of daylight savings or pregnancy related. ugh!
pineapple / 12802 posts
@skipper2010: totally looks so weird to me too!
@Mrs D: I'm really struggling with work outs. To the point that I haven't done any since the BFP. It's really brought me down and I can already tell I'm "softening" in areas! LOL. Areas that shouldn't be soft! I'm going to try and get back into it soon.... I hope...
@lawbee11: I am SO very excited for my appointment tomorrow! I totally thought it was today so I was a little disappointed when I figured that out. haha Torture!
@Alivoo01: I have ok nights and then awful nights. I also can't tell if it's pregnancy or day light savings related. I'm hoping the latter because that means it will pass but I really think it's pregnancy and will only get worse!

I know I've been MIA over here. Insanely busy! Come Sunday I will finally have a break from these past two crazy weeks!
So update on the appt. Everything went great. Got a refill on the Zofran.... because I am STILL nauseous and the all clear to take prilosec for the heartburn, thank God. Baby's heartbeat sounds great, 150. And I gained a whopping 1/2 a lb! Which puts me up, well, a whole lb since I've been pregnant even though i now have a good size bump... I attribute that to my nausea though. Dr doesn't seem worried. I kept telling DH I thought I was loosing weight while the baby was gaining. Looks like I was right.
Up next gender scan this Sat, the 16th to see if our hamburger is actually a hot dog! I can't wait!!!!
nectarine / 2530 posts
@.twist.: I think I asked you your opinion on the bamboo A+A when you got them, too lol. No flat belly button here...got a lot more fat to work through ;). Still waiting for my "B" bump shape to become a "D". C'mon baby, distribute that blubber!
I'll be 20 weeks on Friday...halfway point, eek! I /may/ have felt something last night, but it didn't happen again so I'm not sure.
@Mrs Hedgehog: how exciting that your gender scan is coming up so quickly!!
cantaloupe / 6730 posts
@StrawberryBee: Distribute that blubber! Lol - I completely agree. I can't wait for that.

Hey ladies!
I've been feeling pretty good this week. No nausea at all! *knocks on wood* My belly button is still completely in but my skin is soooooo dry and itchy I finally started getting to the point where I'm showing a little and I'm starting to get more "subtle" double takes. I've been trying to do some walking and I definitely notice I sleep better nights I've had some exercise. I have had some crazy dreams, though! The other night I had a dream I put the baby in the microwave--yikes!
I finally got through my weeks of crazy at work, so hopefully I'll be on HB more often now, I've missed you guys!
If we're still doing the appointment updates, my next appointment with the midwife and my next ultrasound are both April 5! I can't wait to see baby one more time before he/she gets here in August!
blogger / honeydew / 7081 posts
@skipper2010: That sounds like a great routine. We were gifted gym memberships, but we just need to get our butts in gear and go sign up for them. I'm worried that it will be a waste, and I won't feel like going...but I think the benefits might outweigh the disadvantages (dragging my butt off the couch).
@msmay: THE ITCHINESS! Oh my gosh, my skin just feels like its peeling off. So itchy and dry, its ridiculous. I know I need to up my water intake (and stop taking HOT showers), but its tough!
Gender/anatomy scan TOMORROW AFTERNOON! I am so excited, can't wait. We went out tonight and bought a tie, and a hairbow...this way, we have something little that our parents can open tomorrow night. I *almost* just bought the tie...because I'm sure its going to be a boy. But the hair bows are insanely cute (little owls, and pink bows), that I'm also hoping I can keep those. Haha we will see!
cherry / 163 posts
@redsmarties: I take hot showers too! It's really hard to lower the temp. I'm trying to do it gradually though. Good luck tomorrow! You must be bouncing of the walls waiting until your scan !

@Mrs Hedgehog: Crazy weeks help make these 40 weeks go quickly! Excited to hear the verdict on Saturday!
@StrawberryBee: So jealous you are almost 20, I am almost 16! UGH!
@msmay: Welcome back! Not long now til your scan - mine is hopefully the week after yours!
@redsmarties: Yay for gender scan today! Cant wait to hear the results!
AFM...I was good and started to get back in the workout routine last night (thanks to DH being gone and me being bored!) - not much but it was a start! I need to stop getting on the scale I think...
Also, off to my appointment this AM - sure they are going to take massive blood from me! But I'll get to hear the heartbeat! Also calling my insurance this morning and seeing about getting my breastpump for free - fingers crossed!
pear / 1812 posts
Oh! Before I forget, we also have our next OB appt w/ sono on April 8th, in addition to the gender scan this weekend. So many appts and chances to see this baby! Not complaining one bit. It will make the weeks following the 20 week scan feel like I haven't seen the baby in FOREVER.

Anybody feeling movement yet? I am still waiting. I thought I felt a good pop behind me belly button a the week before last but haven't felt anything since. I have never felt a gas bubble like that... ever... but since I haven't felt a thing since, maybe that is what it was.
pear / 1812 posts
@redsmarties: I just asked about movement and I guess I should have played catch up BEFORE posting! lol. Yay on the movement! That is so exciting!
pear / 1812 posts
@.twist.: Mine is definately shallower. I used to not be able to feel the bottom but now I can't even fit my finger in there too far! Mr. Hedgie loves sticking his finger in to guage how much the baby is growing.
cherry / 163 posts
@Mrs D: you can get a free breast pump through insurance? How? Share your wisdom!
@Mrs Hedgehog: no movement for me yet. I'm only going to be 17w on Sunday, though, so I figure it may be a few more weeks. I can't wait! I keep hoping to feel something... but so far, nada.
