EEP! I need to catch up!
@delight: I really like LUG bags, I might have to check that one out!
@chanzi: Ugh. Sucks that you're not feeling well again! Hope that stops soon! My husband totally has a comic book tote bag and he'll probably end up using that! He's such a nerd!
@Ocean girl: I've definitely noticed my lower abdomen is like a fricken rock! So solid! Lately the bump hasn't been disappearing though!
@redsmarties: OH man, yesterday after I ate lunch with a bunch of girls from lunch (it was free pizza so I stuffed my face) my stomach looked like I was probably 8 months preggo! LOL
@Mrs D: I'm so impressed with your organization. Cannot wait to see your plan! I also think that if you have a plan for all that stuff then you should totally go for it. What a steal of a deal! How generous of your co-worker! I am going to get my mom to find a bunch of garage sale stuff for her place out in BC where we vacation to all the time. It would be a pain to have to lug all that stuff across a province for an 8 hour trip!
@Grace: YAY for hearing the heartbeat, sooo cool huh!? Glad your appointment went well.
@JamieLee: We have a big dog too that we take on our travels. I have no idea how it's going to work next time because he's a big back seat HOG.
@msmay: I will be for a year. Then I have to go back to work. If I could be a SAHM longer I would.
@Mrs D: yay for good vibes about the daycare! I know the ones in my area are pretty scary!
@Grace: I have been having some insane dreams. Some weird sex dreams, weird baby gender dreams, regular weird dreams.... I had a dream that breastfeeding didn't hurt at all HAHAHA.
@Alivoo01: My husband is going to probably be a part time stay at home dad!
PHEW. Done.
AFM, um.... nothing new. My one girlfriend lent me a bunch of baby stuff which was super nice of her. um.... my life is boring right now! HAH. I have also done no shopping yet, which totally makes me pouty because I want to buy baby stuff!

@JamieLee: I was thinking maybe the Skip Hop Studio bag? Any reviews on it?
clementine / 930 posts
@Alivoo01: I haven't seen that one. Its cute though! i am a big advocate for looking up as many online reviews as I can find.
So I just got a call about the job and they made me an offer. They offered a little less than I wanted, but otherwise it sounds good. I told her about the baby, and I couldn't tell how she took it. She reminded me about the occasional long hours, and the stress, but I feel like every job has something like that, at least in marketing. So I just need to talk it over with DH but I know he's going to want me to take it. Hmmm....decisions, decisions!

@JamieLee: awesome on the job offer!
@.twist.: I haven't done too much lately either lol (except continue the kitchen reno...it's going to look so amazing when it's finished!).
I did get two organic cotton muslin crib sheets yesterday from zuilily. One has pink dragonflies on it and one has purple giraffes :3. I also got a pink bunting on clearance from LL Bean that my SIL clued me in to:
http://www.llbean.com/llb/shop/61448?feat=Pink%20Lilac%20Snow%20Bunting-SR0&page=snow-bunting
I will leave y'all with a pic of our kitchen mid-reno. Goodbye wall, hello cabinets!! The granite people came to template this week, so in two weeks we'll have sparkly new countertops, sink, and faucet!

@StrawberryBee: Jealous of your kitchen remodel! Can't wait to see it when it's done! It's amazing how removing just one wall can make things look soooooo much bigger!
pineapple / 12802 posts
@JamieLee: Congrats! That is exciting!!!
@StrawberryBee: Oh wow! a big wall you took out there hey!? I can't wait to see the finished product! I love renos.

@JamieLee: Congrats on the job offer! That's awesome!!
@StrawberryBee: Woohoo on the reno!!! Can't wait to see the end results!!

@JamieLee: Congrats! I'm going to take it as a good sign that they didn't back out of the offer.
@StrawberryBee: Can't wait to see the after shot!
nectarine / 2530 posts
@JamieLee: @.twist.: @Alivoo01: @Grace: Thanks!! It's already so much bigger looking and brighter with the wall out. It's only a half wall that we removed (plus the bridge that connected the side that still exists), but what an impact. Should have done it a long time ago ;).
clementine / 930 posts
@StrawberryBee: what color granite are you going with? Are you keeping the cabinets? In the picture they look to be in good shape. We got a new sink and fixture a few years ago and that small change made a big difference, so you're going to have a whole new space!
nectarine / 2530 posts
@JamieLee: It's a color called Labrador Antique; it's brown-toned with blue peacock-like glints in it when you change your angle:
We're keeping the cabinets. I'm not in love with them (the previous owners replaced the doors. I love the look, just don't like the fact that the drawers are a bit wobbly, etc.), but it wasn't worth replacing them. The cabinets on the half-wall are new. I work for a homebuilder and one of my coworkers has connections in the plumbing industry, so I was able to get some pretty good discounts on the new cabinets and the sink/faucet. Unfortunately the only thing I couldn't discount was the granite!
clementine / 930 posts
@StrawberryBee: that's beautiful! I have granite envy! My hubby is anti-granite because he says that you can't change it...well, we've never changed our ugly Formica, so I'm not buying that argument!

Okay ladies,
So I hate to complain. Honestly, I promised myself that I would never complain while pregnant, because we waited so long. And I feel horrible about it.
BUT.
My body is covered in huge patches of eczema. My SI joint is out of whack, leaving me hobbling all over. I am just getting over a brutal yeast infection. I'm cranky and tired.
And I woke up this morning with what is most likely a UTI. I am FALLING apart.
Rant over. In other news, what can I do for a UTI? I haven't had one in AGES, and I'm not sure what to do. Help!

@JamieLee: Congrats on the job offer!
@StrawberryBee: Nice!! I bet your kitchen is going to look awesome!
@redsmarties: So sorry that you feel like you're falling apart! I often feel guilty complaining to DH because I have wanted to be a mom for as long as I can remember. It'll be worth it once our babies are here! I would call the doc about the UTI. I have heard cranberry juice is good for those, but not sure if it would make it go away completely.
Just got back from our doctor's appointment and all is well with our little burger. We didn't have an u/s, but got to hear the heartbeat, weight check, BP check, had one more vial of blood drawn (hopefully my last!). Oh and we scheduled the anatomy scan for 3/20!
wonderful olive / 19353 posts
@redsmarties: Heard this is great for back pains. I just bought it the other day at Half Price Books so can't personally comment on it yet. http://www.amazon.com/The-Miracle-Ball-Method-Pregnancy/dp/0761160973/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pdT1_S_nC?ie=UTF8&colid=RNKWTCEYZPRU&coliid=I2E0CHAQH3E9IE
As for UTI, I also heard cranberry juice, but the dr needs to prescribe you some antibiotics to help clear it up. Sorry you're having to deal with so many things at once!!
@lawbee11: Yay for a good appt and hearing the baby!
pomelo / 5326 posts
@StrawberryBee: nice kitchen remodel! I'm sure it has been a pain living through a remodel but you'll be so happy when its done. We have been remodelling our house for 4 years...
@JamieLee: congrats on the job offer!! That's good that you told them about the baby, I bet you were nervous about that!
@redsmarties: Sorry you are feeling crappy. I try not to complain too, but once in awhile I have to let it all out. Between the exhaustion, the itchy skin, the awful gas, the weird pains when I sneeze....sometimes my DH gets an earful (and nose full) we are allowed to complain. As for the UTI, you might need meds but cranberry juice is supposed to help I think.
@lawbee11: glad your appointment went well. Your anatomy,y scan will be here before you know it. Mine is the 19th and I'm counting down the days!
cantaloupe / 6730 posts
@redsmarties: Let it out! Why should you have to hold it all in, just because it took a long time to get here? Besides, if you hold it all in, it just causes stress. So rant away! I'm sorry you are having a bad time. I've been a crankypants all day too. Have a relaxing evening and hopefully get a good sleep.

@msmay: I plan to be a SAHM after the baby arrives. My current job involves a year-to-year contract renewal and my new contract would start the day before my due date, so the baby is coming at a perfect time for me to be able to take an extended leave. I'll be home with the baby for a minimum of 4 months and then I could maybe go back, but really I'm planning to take the whole year off. After that it's harder to predict.
@.twist.: Thanks! I switched my prenatal back to evenings just before bed and it seems to be helping. I love the comic book tote as diaper bag for your husband! Mine is really looking forward to getting that Geek Dad book at some point.
kiwi / 637 posts
@redsmarties: sorry you're not feeling well! I asked DH (he's a 3rd year urology resident) and he agrees with the bees above and said lots of fluids (like cranberry juice but also water) will help, but that you'll need a course of antibiotics to clear it up.
@StrawberryBee: tres jealous of your kitchen Reno! Looks fabulous!
Happy weekend ladies!! What's everyone up to? We are having a pizza, sweatpants and movie night here... It's been a while since we have just hung out at home together so I'm excited!!
pomelo / 5326 posts
@msmay: I wish I could be a SAHM for a few years. I'll be taking 7 months off and then going back to work 3 days a week which I think is pretty awesome.
@Ocean Girl: sweatpants, pizza and movie night here too! That's pretty much every Friday for us, but I still love it. These days I have to convince DH to start the movie by 8 or I won't make it all the way through!
pineapple / 12802 posts
@redsmarties: Sometimes it's important to rant! Just cuz your itchy skin, etc. sucks doesn't mean you care about your baby any less. Honestly, as the other ladies have said, get it out!!
My bellaband makes my belly so red and itchy, it's awful! I have back zits! EEW. Dear Baby, just keep growing and cut out all the weird crap! haha
@chanzi: ooooooh a fellow geek?? So... this might be evil but you should check out this website (if you don't know about it already!) and try not to buy EVERYTHING: http://www.thinkgeek.com/geek-kids/newborn-infant/
@Ocean girl: We are just hanging out! The boys are playing with lego and my husband is going to grab our old PS2 from the basement because I just bought an old game that I used to love to play and want to play it NOW! haha.

Ok ladies...just spent 3 hours in BuyBuyBaby...wow...overwhelmed but SO glad I made my first trip there just a stroll/exploring session. My mom came with to help me sort through what is what and we took notes for registering! I feel so much better prepared to go with DH for the first time.
As for the Stroller...so torn between City Select and B-Agile...cant decide at all - need to figure out when #2 is likely to come for us!
How is everyone else doing/feeling?
pomelo / 5326 posts
@Mrs D: I have never heard of BuyBuyBaby, is it a US store?
I am feeling good, especially since I just got a new iPad mini! I was going to buy one for when baby comes so I could read during late night BF but decided to just go ahead and buy it now. It'll be so much better to use the Bee on my ipad instead of iphone!! Also went for a nice walk today because the sun is shining. I have hardly got any exercise since my BFP, other than the occasional yoga workout. It felt nice to get outdoors. Hopefully Spring will be here soon!
kiwi / 637 posts
@Mrs D: yes - explain Buy Buy Baby... I am not sure we have them in Canada?
@delight: yay for a new toy for you! I have an iPad through work and I'm terrified they'll make me return it while I'm on mat leave! It was gorgeous out here as well, so DH and I took the furbaby for a big walk and are now getting ready to BBQ!
Mmmmmmm BBQ makes this preggo girl happy.
cantaloupe / 6730 posts
@delight: Oooh, I would trade my 12 months maternity for that work deal. Sounds awesome.
@Mrs D: Haha - I'm torn between the B Agile and the City mini GT. Let me know what you end up going with!
DH and I went to West Coast Kids and I got a JJ Cole diaper bag. I love it and didn't cost a fortune...much.
grapefruit / 4545 posts
@delight: @Ocean girl: I looked online - you guys dont have them in CA but they are the baby store version of Bed Bath and Beyond. Owned by the same company and set up the same way.
@Grace: Well - I think between those two for me it would come down to price alone. I think the City mini is $350ish for the stroller alone. The Agile is $399 for the stroller, BSafe infant car seat and base. Just seems you get a lot more for your money and they felt relatively similar. And the Agile was seriously the easiest thing ever to close up to throw in a trunk! Just my opinion on where we are leaning!
cantaloupe / 6730 posts
@Mrs D: It's the price that's got me hung up. The City mini has better wheels (rubber vs plastic), and we could use a Snugride 22 which is the lightest carseat I've ever picked up. The Britax B-safe was so much heavier. I'm just not sure if the extra pluses are worth $200 extra (for the whole stroller car seat shebang). Sigh. Maybe one will come up on kijiji.
blogger / honeydew / 7081 posts
@Grace: SO nice, I love that bag!!
We went and walked through Babies R Us yesterday, and test drove the B-Agile. Honestly, I LOVE it. One button push and it folds up - the saleslady even folded it for us with an armful of stuff! They don't sell it as a travel system in the store, but if you order it in store through their website, there's free shipping to your house. Love it!
Feeling much better today - I think Friday was just a crap day at work, which then transferred to everything else in my life, haha. Off to church now, where I'm in the infant nursery and get to cuddle babies all morning. That will definitely make things better!
kiwi / 597 posts
@Mrs D: Doing pretty good over here. We're cleaning out the guest room today getting ready to turn it into nursery....EEEK! I'm excited! Did you end up buying that coach diaper bag? I have my eye on one too and am going crazy waiting for a coupon to magically appear. lol Wish they weren't so expensive. I'm so in love with it though!
pomelo / 5326 posts
@Grace: so nice! I love the pattern.
@Mrs D: thanks for scouting it out! We do have a BB & B so I'll check that out. I didn't realize they had baby stuff. Maybe that's a good place to look for bedding.
@redsmarties: Cuddling babies sounds like fun! I'm off to church too, but not to the nursery unfortunately
Still no baby movement for me..... I even close my eyes and lie very very still and try not to even breath......and nothing. Sometimes I poke my belly to see if baby will move but then DH just tells me to stop harassing his child. 17+4 today so I imagine any day now!
nectarine / 2530 posts
@JamieLee: you should have seen the torture involved in picking the granite color! I originally wanted quartz, but couldn't find a color we liked. There was a small part of me who wanted this really gorgeous blue/black quartz with insane diamond sparkles in it, but I thought it might overwhelm the room. I convinced myself that it was necessary to upgrade to be competitive with other houses in the neighborhood. And it was my 'make myself feel better about not getting pregnant' a few weeks before we got the positive ;).
@lawbee11: @delight: @Ocean girl: Thanks! It hasn't even been that bad of a reno, because I still have a working kitchen (we reconnected the plumbing after the templaters left).
@redsmarties: A little late with this, but aww honey, it's okay to not be insanely happy over every crazy pregnancy symptom we experience! I don't know many people who would be happy with constant nausea, or itchiness, or pain. I complained to my husband all the time when I had morning sickness, and then I'd follow it up with "but I know I only have myself to blame!" He'd respond with "it's all my fault ;)". I hope your UTI clears up soon. I tend to be pretty susceptible to them, and they are NO FUN and always require antibiotics for me. I've gotten so good at diagnosing myself with them that I go to the dr before the bacteria count even goes crazy. Have you tried coconut oil for your skin?
@Grace: gorgeous bag!
@delight: no baby movement for me either, and I'm 19 weeks (+2). I used the doppler yesterday just to make sure everything was still okay in there. At least, I don't think the weird gassy pains I've been feeling are baby movement...
We went to my stepdaughter's band concert last night (they were amazing; it was honors band). Just chilling today, baking pink reveal cupcakes for facebook. I found a Tinkerbell watercolor print I'd bought in Disney World some years ago, so I framed it yesterday for the baby's room ^_^.
grapefruit / 4545 posts
@Grace: Ya, I have been 100% on getting a Britax car seat from day one - so its a perk to me for the Be-Safe to be included. I definitely noticed the difference in how much heavier it was but with Britax safety/design I was hooked from day one. Plus it'll just give me buff arms right? I hear ya on the wheels though, that cheap out kinda annoyed me about the Be-Agile...
@redsmarties: seriously, the way it folded was a HUGE selling point. We folded all of them w/o any help from the sales people bc I wanted one that was THAT easy that even a dumby with no knowledge like me could figure out!
@skipper2010: You know, I started hearing a lot about the coach ones not being big enough...so I have put my purchase on hold until I try them all out.
@delight: They may have some baby stuff at BB&B...I'd call and check first!
In other news...I just ate 3 oreo's...and will likely eat 3 more before the day is over. I have no shame!
nectarine / 2530 posts
@Mrs D: I've been eating four oreos (in milk) a day for three days now ;). And just ate two pink reveal cupcakes. Organic 0% milk makes it all healthy, right?
I had some leftover vanilla yogurt from some banana bread I made so I dipped some fresh strawberries in it...yum!
grapefruit / 4545 posts
@StrawberryBee: OMG thats its for me too - the Milk...LOVE it! But I have been drinking 2%...something I never did but man this baby loves its dairy!
blogger / honeydew / 7081 posts
@Mrs D: I WISH I was craving dairy. I've always been lactose intolerant, but that has vanished during pregnancy. I feel like I should be chugging milk while I can to get the calcium, but it just feels WRONG. So not used to it!
That being said...I made cupcakes for a party yesterday, and may have eaten three, without icing, before lunch today.
wonderful olive / 19353 posts
@Mrs D: We’re debating between the B-Agile or City Versa for a single or City Select also! Hubby is also worried about timing for #2 because he doesn’t want baby #1 to outgrow the stroller before baby #2 gets here, which means we’d need to start TTC shortly after baby #1 turns 1, which the hubby is on board with. Heck, he’s the one who suggested it. Haha!
@Grace: Such a cute diaper bag!! I really like it!!
@delight: No baby movement for me yet either. I’m at 18+3. So ready to feel DS move though!
pineapple / 12802 posts
@Grace: I think I'm going to go to west coast kids for my diaper bag. They have such an amazing selection!
Anyone else had dizzy spells?? I almost passed out on the train ride to work this morning! Sweating, blurry vision, it was terrible. Thankfully I was sitting down and it passed within a minute or some (seemed like forever). I did a little google search and it sounds pretty normal but I will be mentioning it to my doctor on Wednesday when I see her.
