@StrawberryBee: exactly what @redsmarties: said. I just sit on ball and rotate my hips in a circle. Then I bounce a minute up and down, side to side, them rotate my hips in the opposite direction. I do this for about 20 mins a night. Also if you google "birth ball and pregnancy" there are websites with labour positions on a birth ball. I plan on using mine during labour at home and at hospital. I think you would need a 65cm ball.

Was away for training last Thursday and Friday so I'll go back and catch up with you ladies, but for now, here's my survey responses!

    1. Have you started the nursery? Kind of. We moved the computer desk and all the computer equipment out and put up the crib. However, the couch and everything else in the office is still in there. Waiting for the farmhouse renovation to be complete so we can move everything out there.

    2. Who will be in the delivery room with you? The hubby and the photographer.

    3. What is your biggest fear about delivery? Tearing and something going wrong (with the baby).

    4. What is your biggest fear postpartum? Can't just pick one so.... the baby being colicky/cries non-stop/doesn't sleep and struggling with breastfeeding.

    5. Besides baby, what are you looking forward to postpartum? Eating food on the "no-no" list guilt free. I've been eating them now, but with guilt.

    6. What's one think you've learned from being pregnant? A ton!!! How the baby grows/develops as each week progresses; and how my body accommodates for this awesome being. I also LOVE LOVE LOVE being pregnant!!

    7. Belly button: Innie or outie? Innie, but it's getting pretty flat. The area around my belly is protruding a bit so it looks like I have an outie through my shirt.

@StbHisMrs: I’ve started to notice slight heart heartburn and indigestion as well. They say this could be a good indicator that our LO has lots of hair. I hope so!!

@lawbee11: Love the 3D pic!! Yay for being head down! I hope our LO will have tons of hair too!

As usual I am late to the party but, whatevs! I do love surveys. lol

    1. Have you started the nursery? Yeah... started. We have some furniture in there but it is all in the center of the rooms since we are painting the walls still. The base color is on, now we just need my Dad to have some time to draw out all our designs to finish painting. Then on to organizing and accessorizing!

    2. Who will be in the delivery room with you? Mr. Hedgie and our photographer. My mom isn't going to be thrilled about that but she will have to just find a way to get over it.

    3. What is your biggest fear about delivery? Tearing or something going seriously wrong with either me or the baby or both. Not gonna lie, I have has some nightmares where one of us doesn't make it...

    4. What is your biggest fear postpartum? Not knowing what to do, or failing so supremely at breastfeeding. My mom tried to breastfeed me and I just plain wouldn't take to it. Period. I am terrified DD is going to be the same.

    .
    5. Besides baby, what are you looking forward to postpartum?
Not being pregnant. I mean, I have enjoyed most of it but the nausea that is still here, the acid reflux/heartburn, hip pain, peeing every 5 minutes and the constipation? SO done with that.

    6. What's one think you've learned from being pregnant? How different every pregnancy is and how much she is growing and changing every day. I never really thought about how much she would change from a tiny ball of cells to the baby she already is. It is crazy and exciting!

    7. Belly button: Innie or outie? Innie, but it is getting close! We do the depth test every night and now I can only fit my finger up to maybe half my nail... maybe. I can't wait for it to finally pop for some strange reason. lol

@StbHisMrs: I have it super bad. My OB has me taking Prilosec and it works really well... unless you run out and keep forgetting to pick some more up like me. Ask about it. It seriously has been a lifesaver!

@.twist.: How did the office reorganization go?? I hope it went well!

@delight: So exciting about your nephew! Glad her labor was pain-free

@Alivoo01: I love being pregnant, too!

I had my shower on Saturday, and it went really well! It was a lot of fun and I got so many great gifts! I did get some clothes, but I think almost every person that gave me clothes also gave me something from the registry. I was so happy that most people stuck to the registry!

We were going to keep the name a secret until the birth, but I've almost slipped up a few times recently (and have no patience!) so we decided to go ahead and announce it at the shower. It was a surprise reveal, though! I had a light pink stroller blanket from PBK monogrammed with the name on it, and I opened it as the last gift at the shower. Everyone was so surprised--it was really fun to watch everyone be so excited! And we got nothing but compliments on the name, so that was a relief Here's a pic of the blanket:

@delight: Honestly, it's still a major work in progress, I swear! I'll be working on it through July as well. Not leaving you in the dust!

@lawbee11: It went really well! It ended up mostly being a "clean the basement" kind of day. We have to make room in the basement (which is unfinished) for the office. Which required a load of stuff to go in the garbage, a lot of stuff to a thrift store, and some to an electronic recycling. So we did manage to get the basement ready, and moved, uh... one piece of office furniture down before we were both pooped!

I'm taking before and after pics of it all haha.

ETA: @lawbee11: LOVE that your shower went so well and that you did reveal the name.

@StrawberryBee: Nice deal at BRU! So do you have pretty much everything you need now? Are there any other big items you still have to buy?

@lawbee11: So glad to hear your shower went so well! thats great people were practical and fun! We plan to share the name at the shower as well - though we haven't been keeping it a real secret...I LOVE Molly - so cute! Whats the middle name?

@.twist.: Any progress is good - you'll get there! Not sure about you other Bees but I am crazy tired these days - my productivity has definitely dropped a TON.

AFM - totally hectic weekend here. I didn't get much done in the nursery this weekend but I did make one more piece of artwork and I am halfway done with the shower favors. After the shower (this weekend!!!) I am going to start washing everything. I'm wondering what you girls are doing for diapers and what not? How many are you planning to stock up on? What do you plan to have on hand and in which sizes?

    GOLD / watermelon / 14076 posts

    @delight: @Grace: @.twist.: @skipper2010: Thank you!

@Mrs D: We wanted to do a family name for the middle name (Molly isn't a family name--just a name we love). I wanted to incorporate my maternal grandfather's name (he passed away when I was in middle school and we were very close). His name was Charles, so her middle name will be Charlotte

@Mrs D: A friend of mine is giving me an opened box of NB and size 1 diapers (Pampers, I think), so I'm not buying anything else until I see if I like them.

@.twist.: I agree with Mrs D - my productivity has taken such a nosedrive that I'd be totally impressed with the amount of work you got done.

I got my B-agile yesterday. It was 20% off at Target and I scored the last one. I'm so happy with it and any of the negatives I saw in reviews don't seem to be a problem with mine. Getting the swing/bouncer combo this week (also on sale at BRU) and then the only big purchase left is the carseat. Whoohoo!

  14. Mrs D

@lawbee11: Molly Charlotte...soooo cute! Our middle name is a family name (Lynn - which LO will share with me, my sisters and my mom). Her first name we picked just because we liked it but it is my SIL's middle name and also my great grandma's name. Score!

@Grace: Oh lucky you!!!!! I am jealous...and I am SO jealous you got your B-Agile!!! I cant wait to get mine!

I'm thinking I may get a box of pampers swaddlers (NB size), a box of pampers swaddlers sensitive and a box huggies little snugglers. Should have me with almost 300 diapers - which is almost 1 months worth. I think I feel good about that.

I already have 2 economy packages of wipes (so around 400 of those). Trying to plot out my $$ for the next 2 months of stocking up!!!

@Mrs D: @Grace: Oh man! I am so tired ALL.THE.TIME. I've had more naps in the last 2 weeks than I probably have ever. I mean, one morning I got up, had breakfast, went to the couch and started reading and fell asleep! I'd only been up for like an hour! hahaha So ridiculous!

@Mrs D: I need to count up how many diapers I have and of what size.

So much to do ladies, I honestly have no idea how anyone can be fully ready lol.

@Mrs Hedgehog: I have some OTC acid reducer that usually works perfectly, it didn't even take the edge off! I drank some apple cider vinegar and that helped a little bit. I haven't had that bad again *knock on wood*!

@Mrs D: I bought a box of Huggies, I think it has 212 size 1 diapers in it. I'll buy a smaller package of newborn size to have when we get home from the hospital. I'm debating buying another box size 1's, I can't remember how long M stayed in them but I think I remember giving away half the box... Right now Costco has a coupon for $5 off a box Kirkland brand, which makes them about $33 for 2xx. Not too bad, I alternate between Kirkland and Huggies with M.

@Lawbee11: Love the name Molly, so sweet

    @.Twist.: Fingers crossed

@Lawbee11: Yay for a great shower, and love the name reveal!!!

@Mrs D: I got some leftover NB diapers from people and bought a small pack myself so I think I have about 60. Clearly that won't last long. However, I don't know how many pounds NB fits, so I was kinda gonna wait to see how big baby is! We are still debating disposables vs. cloth. We will do disposables through August but might start cloth in September. I got Pampers swaddled for the ones I bought, I heard good things.

Ok so I went home and looked, there are actually 156 in the box, now I'm wondering if the price was less for the size 1's. I've completely confused myself! I do know that I have about 20 size 2's, 60 3's, and 40 4's, all leftovers from M. I learned not to give away diapers anymore Good grief, talk about pregnancy brain.

    @delight: @redsmarties: thanks!

    @lawbee11: so pretty! :3

@skipper2010: So I mentioned to someone at work today that we picked up the jogger stroller for a great deal and got A Look ;). Whoops, I think that was on the present list for the work shower (my coworkers are seriously awesome).

I actually purposefully left the pack n play on the registry as the last big ticket item (I have a 20% and 10% code I can use for that too, so it really kills me to have people spend more).

Other than that, it's just a bunch of little things on Amazon.

@Mrs D: We're going to attempt cloth diapers once she's big enough, so I have 24 bumgenius 4.0s and Freestyles. For the newborn stage I got a giant box of pampers swaddlers from BJ's wholesale club. We'll probably have to get more, but at least that will be a good start.

Oh, and yes to the exhaustion! I fell asleep on my inlaws' sofa twice yesterday.

    @Grace: congrats on your deals!

Anybody else plotting out their hospital bags and birth plans? I have drafts of each. I'm sure I'll bring way too much, but the hospital is 30-40 minutes away from the house, so I'd rather have it in the car than there.

I found this awesome guide showing how many of each size of diapers to buy, what's a great price to find them at, and all sorts of tips and tricks for stocking up and saving money.
HOWEVER....I've lost the site. Can't find it. So I'm pretty un-helpful.

We have a jumbo box of size ones. Planning to get a small box of nb (I think they only go up to 8 or 9 pounds), and stocking up on the rest as we need to. That being said, I'm assuming we'll get some at our showers this weekend. People are usually great about buying diapers.

@Grace: My parents bought our B-Agile - I think it was on sale as well (they ordered it from the States). Don't know when I get it though...can't wait to test drive it around the house. I LOVE it, haha.

@StrawberryBee: I have a list of hospital bag stuff, mostly compiled from all of the Bees posts on their bags. I also have a postpartum list, a diaper bag list, and a to-do before baby list. Loving my lists!

@StbHisMrs: @Alivoo01: @delight: @StrawberryBee: Thanks for the input on diapers! My sister spoke very highly of Pampers Swaddlers so I am thinking of going heavier on those. I'd really like to mix those in with the Kirklands brand as @StbHisMrs: mentioned - so I need to go get those while on sale!

@StrawberryBee: I dont have a birth plan - but a month back I did a TON of googling and made hospital bag lists and what not. I'll post it to the FB group so everyone can benefit - its in an excel file with lots of my other mad excel spreadsheets - so you'll have to bear with me!

So my shower is this weekend!!!! Insane - about half my registry has been purchased which is AMAZING. I plan to get some more basic decorating and storage plotting done next weekend then take the holiday weekend off from all things baby! After that - July will be here and our classes will be starting and my crazy freezer cooking prep will be starting as well.

What is everyones deadline for 1) nursery prep 2) hospital bags 3) other prep (laundry done, other crap all bought)? Mine is July 14 for the nursery, July 31 for hospital bags and 3) pretty much Aug 11 for everything else of importance around the house.

@Mrs D: I want to have my nursery done by July 30. We have the cradle set up in bedroom so baby has a place to sleep. I want to have my bag packed by the end of next week. My sister in law's water broke at 32+3 which is next week for me, so it makes me a little nervous! She was definitely not packed or ready but I want to be! I have everything washed already. Thankfully I'm now done work, so I feel I can slowly get things ready.

  29. Grace

    cantaloupe / 6730 posts

    @redsmarties: Lol - what a tease!

@Mrs D: I have a psycho list including deadlines that I haven't looked at for a while, so let's see... 1) nursery prep deadline is July 31 (minus baby's bedding, which I figure will go on in August), 2) hospital bags deadline is Aug 2 (our birthing class teacher said she wanted us ready to go at 37 weeks), 3)other prep deadline is Aug 23 (apparently I'm not too worried about that one, if I'm willing to go to my due date, lol).

@lawbee11: love the name. It's one that I would have considered for a girl if it wasn't my SIL's name!

I was out of town Sunday and Monday for a friend's baby's first birthday party and some outlet mall shopping with my bestie. When I got home last night, the house smelled like paint...DH surprised me by finishing up trimming in the nursery and painting the wainscoting and the doors. All that's left for him now is to put another coat of grey on the walls and put some shelves in the closet. I am so excited! He's such a sweetheart. He spent 13 hours in there on Sunday! Once the last coat of paint is on, we can move the furniture out of the living room into the nursery, then it's just a matter of decorating. I still need to get my chair ordered and find a rug, but otherwise, it's just little stuff.

My shower is this weekend, and not too much stuff has been purchased off the registry, besides those big items I mentioned which I'm sure were bought by my family. Getting a little nervous about that, but it is what it is...hoping to get gift cards and gift receipts...

As for diapers, we're doing cloth, and I still need to order the majority of our stash. I'm also assuming we will get some disposables at the shower to have for emergencies/travel.

I haven't had any heartburn yet, so hoping that doesn't mean baby is going to be bald...lol. I was apparently bald till I was two, so hoping he doesn't take after me! Haha.

I'm trying not to think about deadlines, because it just stresses me out. I hope to have the main nursery stuff done by the middle of July. Hospital bag packing I'm thinking will be by the end of July. The rest of the house is a whole other beast. All this nursery prep has turned the rest of our house into a bit of a disaster zone, and I've skipped a lot of other projects I planned to get done this summer. I would at least like to get my office cleaned out and do a good deep cleaning before baby comes. I tend to go in stages where I purge a ton of stuff at a time and I'm thinking one of those trips to Goodwill might be coming up soon!

Glad to hear everyone is making progress on their baby gear and nurseries! Can't wait to see nursery pictures!

@StrawberryBee: Wow just a pack n play and you're all set? That's awesome!

@Mrs D: I haven't even thought about what size diapers I'm going to stock up on. I plan on waiting until after my shower to see if I get any and then go from there.

@.twist.: So much to do is right! Time is whizzing by right now! I can't believe we're already past mid-june!

@Mrs D: My goal is to have everything done by 36 weeks (which is July 4th for me YIKES!!!!) with the exception of the nursery and other house prep. The majority of the nursery will be complete, but I figure I can work on the decorative touches those last weeks before my due date. I want to have my hospital bag packed, car seat installed, and baby essentials ready by 36 weeks just in case the little guy decides to make an early appearance.

What's everyone using for detergent? Are you planning on buying special baby brand detergent or just using something dye and fragrance free?

I'm also going to get my master excel sheets up on the FB soon - but wanted to post these here since it seems some of us are starting to think about this stuff. @StrawberryBee: It’s on my list of to do’s for when I’m 37 weeks. I’ve already started brain storming what I’ll snacks I’m packing for the hubby though. LOL! Maybe I’ll start a draft for both today. Thanks for the encouragement!

@RedSmarties: LOL @ your “I have an awesome guide… I’ve lost it so I’m pretty un-helpful”. Thanks for the morning laugh.

@Mrs D: Thanks for sharing your list!! Totally working on mine now thanks to you and @StrawberryBee:! Ha!
Yay for baby shower this weekend! My deadline to have everything moved out of the office is this month. I want everything set up, clothes washed and put up, hospital bags packed as much as possible by the time I’m 37 weeks so mid-July since any time after that could be go time!

@Jamielee: Yay for awesome hubby’s that spoil us! As for my baby shower, a lot of my registry was untouched when viewed online, but we received a good amount off of our registry. Not sure why they didn’t give the register person the registry to let us know someone purchased something! Amazingly, only duplicate things we got were diapers!!

@skipper2010: I don’t plan on switching detergents since we have tons left. I started a thread awhile back about this, and some of the bees said their babies were okay with “adult” detergent. We’re currently using Ecos which is organic. However, if DS displays allergic reactions to the detergent, I will definitely switch to the clear and free version of Ecos.

  37. JamieLee

    clementine / 930 posts

@Alivoo01: I just started using Ecos. I think I have the lavender scent, so I'll have to see how baby does with it as well.

I'm so excited! I just ordered my glider! It's not a custom order so it should be here in 7-14 days. Love that I can pick it up at my local Toys R Us since we don't have a Babies R Us or any other baby store around here and we didn't have to pay 150 bucks to have it delivered to the house. This is the chair. I hope it's comfy! They didn't have this one in the store when I tried them out in April but I love the looks of it!

@skipper2010: I think I'll use dreft (is that it or is it deft?) - its what my mom used to use and I remember liking it!

@Alivoo01: I thought of not switching too - I mean I understand it would be bad for LO to have a reaction but if it happened - I mean I only have like 15 articles of clothing for her as a newborn so how big of a deal is it for me to wash it in new detergent if I notice a problem?!

@.twist.: I know - I had a lot of "OMG such a good idea moments" while I was making these lists.

I'll post the other spreadsheet on FB - it has these lists (plus a generic "what goes in a diaper bag" list, my freezer meals plan and my wardrobe plan for LO) you all can see my crazy list making bad habits!
