@CoffeeMom: Thank you so much! How is everything going for you?@Silva: Thank you so much! Yes--nice and totally bizarre to have a clear timeline!

@pregnantbee: I'm excited to use it! Might take it to a baby wearing meeting before he arrives to figure out how it works

@MrsSCB: Haha! I think it will be a little hard to really try out while you've still got the solid bump Did you get the Airflow? I can't wait to try it.
cherry / 239 posts
@pregnantbee: @mossyslane: In theory, I only have a few more days of bed rest left since I'll be 37 weeks on Tuesday. We will see if restrictions actually get lifted! I am so ready to have this baby. But as I've been joking to my husband, after all of this baby boy will probably wait until at least 40 weeks to make his appearance
pomelo / 5257 posts
@pregnantbee: haha that will be an obstacle! And yes, I thought the airflow version would be good since it's so hot here.
grapefruit / 4717 posts
@CoffeeMom: Hooray for bed rest coming to an end. Of course you'll end up going late

@CoffeeMom: when I was on meds to stop contractions from 32-35 weeks and stopped I was sure baby could come. Nope I had contractions all the time but he didn't come until 38 weeks. It's was a long 3 weeks.
Wishing you the best of luck!!

@MrsSCB: That happened to us with a few things from our Amazon registry (for LO 1) too. So annoying! But if it was off your registry (and the buyer actually purchased it through your registry link), then Amazon has a thank you note tracker thingy that will reveal who sent it!
kiwi / 595 posts
@MrsSCB: yes, the note tracker off your registry will tip you off. But so annoying that if the buyer has prime, they don't include a packing slip, which is a PITA for any returns.
pomelo / 5257 posts
@stratosphere: @OldpuebloJenn: Unfortunately, it wasn't purchased through our registry -- seems like they saw it there and then went and bought it, because the carrier was still on the registry as unpurchased. And then yesterday, we received two really weird and random things in the mail, addressed to both of us: a bunch of double sided suction cups and a faucet head. I'm guessing whoever bought the carrier also bought those things for their own home and accidentally had it sent to us. The plot thickens! Or maybe not, because my mom's sister is super absent-minded, so now I'm thinking it was her lol.
kiwi / 595 posts
@MrsSCB: if she's got prime, it was probably her! I love Amazon, but gift giving from prime, is such a hassle for the recipient, especially if something is wrong.

I think baby dropped. I've been feeling a ton of pressure low down every time I get up. And I need to pre way more often. So I took a pic to compare, unfortunately last week's didn't have a good profile so the comparison is from a few weeks ago. What do you guys think?
Is this a good indicator I won't make it to my 39 week c-section?
wonderful clementine / 24134 posts
@ShootingStar: Awesome! I have no idea because I can never tell if I just went through a growth spurt and got bigger and lower or if baby really "dropped". Will you have a cervical check?

@ShootingStar: My midwife noted that my baby had dropped and was engaged at my 34 week appointment and I have felt tons of pressure over the last few weeks since and lots of BH but have not gone into labor (thankfully!), obviously. A friend of mine just delivered on Friday and her baby girl was riding high as of Wednesday night right beforehand so much like dilation I don't necessarily think that engagement means much with the absence of other signs. Just my take though.
coconut / 8472 posts
@coopsmama: Haha, yeah the "signs" aren't usually all that clear . Is your friend a 2nd time mom (or more)? I also read that many moms that have given birth before won't have the baby engage until they go into labor.
cantaloupe / 6059 posts
@ShootingStar: Nope, it was her first so it was truly surprising! Baby come over a week early with no signs - she was convinced she would be going late. I haven't talked to her yet to know what went on between Wednesday night when we hung out until Friday night when she delivered but I'm excited to hear the story. Sounds like it was a complication free delivery - and fast, too! Very lucky for a first timer!
cantaloupe / 6017 posts
@ShootingStar: @coopsmama: I have my appt tomorrow and am curious to see if the doctor comments on the baby being low. sometimes it moves its head around and literally feels like it is pushing out. I noticed I'm not as out of breath all the time, too.
pomelo / 5257 posts
@ShootingStar: Definitely looks lower! I think my guy has moved lower recently, too. Good because my lungs feel less squished, bad because I feel like there's a bowling ball on my pelvis sometimes. When I got checked out last week, the doc could tell he was head down when she checked my cervix (which was closed and 20 percent effaced). But as a FTM, I'm expecting it'll be a long time before anything happens. I've heard the same thing, that first-timers' babies get into position farther away from delivery than second+. My friend was about 3 cm dilated with her first for several weeks last summer!
grapefruit / 4717 posts
I really don't know about this baby dropping thing. The head of my workplace has deemed that I haven't dropped and therefore won't be having baby soon. But who knows?
@ShootingStar: For what it's worth, your bump does look a bit lower, but who knows when baby will come?
kiwi / 633 posts
Ugh, having a bit of a weird day. 38w1d means this baby has officially stayed put for 2 days longer than my first. I. Am. Ready. I've been measuring small so they had me do a growth ultrasound today (yay for getting a glimpse of the little one). The tech couldn't really say much but estimated his/her weight only around 6lbs6oz. Just a little peanut! Also found out that my midwives are super understaffed/overworked and there is a chance there will be a random hospitalist OB covering if I go into labor in the next week or so. Had a good little cry about that because I was pushed into the whole 'intervention spiral' last time (under OB care), and that is the reason I chose midwives this time around. Blah. Luckily I have the worlds greatest doula and my husband to back me up and advocate for me if that happens. Baby will come when he/she is ready and we'll just keep our fingers crossed that our lovely midwives (who we know and trust) will be there for us.
Other than that, just nesting, loving these last few minutes with my 'only child' and semi-patiently waiting for something to happen...

@ShootingStar: You look great great and it definitely looks like you are carrying lower to me!
apricot / 382 posts
@thismustbetheplace: I am sorry today is rough. That sounds like a rough situation and I would be teary too. Hopefully you get your midwife and all goes according to plan. Just remember you are your biggest advocate.
pear / 1718 posts
@ShootingStar: I agree - I think you definitely look lower! I don't know if that means things will speed up from here, but it's a good start . . . ?
@thismustbetheplace: Awww. Hope everything happens quickly--but smoothly--for you.
As for me, my little guy is breech. I was joking with my friends last night during the gymnastic Olympic trials that he was doing his own routine of his own in my belly--guess I was right! He still has time to flip back around (as a matter of fact he was breech, then transverse, and then breech again during my u/s today), but, it was still a surprise.
kiwi / 595 posts
@pwnstar: oh breech buddy. Ugh. How are you feeling? Are you going to do anything to try to get baby to flip? I'm doing cat and cows and crawling like no ones business. I'm so much more uncomfortable with baby's head up in my rib cage!
@thismustbetheplace: that's tough. Hopefully the OB will be more naturally leaning and has been vetted well by your midwives. Can you make your concerns clear to them, and explain that you expect x type of care from them, and that expectation extends to the potentially attending ob?
nectarine / 2591 posts
@ShootingStar: Deff lower!
@thismustbetheplace: Fingers crossed you won't get the OB but if you do, hopefully the fact your midwives are working with him means he is less inclined to interventions.
I am having pretty much constant braxton hicks while up and walking but they're not turning into anything which is kind of disappointing. Am so ready to get this show on the road. Baby has flipped to the right, exactly at 38 weeks, just like my daughter but I am refusing to be stressed about it.
Do we need a labour thread since we have two people having babies this week?
grapefruit / 4045 posts
OMG. A labor thread already?? I'm dying. I can't even imagine going into labor right now. I'm still looking at piles of baby clothes on the floor that I have just been regrouping for about every night of the last 2 weeks. I will die if this baby of mine comes early. Not. Ready. At. All.

@mossyslane: How are you doing? Is baby day still tomorrow?
Who is the other of us having a baby this week?
apricot / 442 posts
Venting because only you ladies and my DH understand. My boss who has been on vacation for 2 weeks came in today to see where we were in terms of hiring a staff accountant to work under me. I had to remind him that even if we found someone tomorrow that in 10 days I will not be in the office at all. He responded that we could hire them now, they could just hang for a month, and then in September when I am back FT things will be fine. AGHHH! I am already taking the shortest mat leave ever, at least for California standards, but no I will not be back 4 weeks post partum. AGGGH! 9 days and counting, and 2 of those I am working from home!
apricot / 442 posts
@agold: With my first I brought 6 perfectly coordinated newborn outfits that were packaged individually to the hospital for the baby. :). You will be okay, and baby will end up in a onesie if anything (because of all the skin to skin) until you are ready to leave the hospital, so dont worry to much about all of their little clothes.
grapefruit / 4045 posts
@AprilFool: I can't believe you are due so soon!
@MrsBeluga: Oh gees. I'm so very sorry. Your maternity leave situation reminds me a little bit about my own. How long do you plan/hope to take off of work? Can you just remind your boss about that? Maybe it would really be better for you to hold off hiring anyone until you get back. I can't imagine hiring anyone in 10 days. Do you already have applicants ready to interview?
Regarding clothes.. I haven't even thought about what to bring to the hospital yet. I'm still just sorting all the new and hand me down clothes I have and trying to figure out how to put them away in the drawers!
I'm a nut and totally procrastinating.

Hi ladies! I feel like I've fallen behind here and it's already time for baby watch?!?!? So crazy, where has the time gone?
I am feeling ok but having bladder issues...like i have to pee, then stand up and immediately feel the urge to go again, it's so damn annoying! I'm guessing this will not go away until delivery.
other than that, just navigating the annoying world of cobra and incompetence...paying all sorts of costs out of pocket because they cant seem to process my paperwork in a timely manner grrr!
Do you guys want to set up a private fb group now that babies are imminently arriving? I can do it if you guys want, or if someone with gold wants to be the one to start it so they can handle private posts with names and such.
@ShootingStar: you look great! I can never tell if baby has dropped.
nectarine / 2591 posts
@MrsBeluga: Urgh. Why is it so hard for work places to get their stuff together? Sorry your leave is going to be so short My last day was Saturday and yesterday I get a text from someone, who should know, asking if last week or this week was my last week
nectarine / 2591 posts
@Pirouette: I heard to lean forward while you pee because it is a better angle to empty the bladder. It has seemed to help with the standing up and needing to go again.
pomegranate / 3331 posts
@AprilFool: I've been trying to do that but i feel like it's not working so well at the moment. I can literally pee 4 times in a row if i stand up in between!
nectarine / 2591 posts
@Pirouette: Urgh that sucks! Also, I'm happy if you want to start the facebook group

@pregnantbee: I am good--more emotional than nervous. Got to take DD out for a mani/pedi this morning and will call the hospital at 7am to confirm the 8am induction!
