@pregnantbee: YES! I love due date clubs for that reason. I have 4 close pregnant friends right now but none are due in August (2 in July but a lot earlier in the month) so it feels great to have others to go through particular milestones with at the same time.

Probably still bloat but I have a bit of a "pouch" at the top of my jeans (which have just now started to feel uncomfortable ) I started out a bit overweight so I'm not counting on seeing a bump until, like, forever lol.
Actually exercised today which feels great! Now, to stick to it for 6.5 more months

@pregnantbee: your sweater chronicles = the best.
@mrschickpea: way to go! I've been trying to get myself out of the house for a run but I've been so dang tired!!

@agold: I had sciatica on and off in the 9th week. Every now and then I still get twinges if you will. Hell yes to the boobs! They've hurt since day 1!

@HLK208: Thank you! I admire anyone who is even at the point of THINKING about exercise anytime in the first trimester. I've fallen off the wagon.
pomegranate / 3331 posts
@mrschickpea: you go girl! I convinced myself to run tonight (ok jog, let's be real) for the first time since the nausea hit, and holy crap, I thought I might die when I started, but I feel so good now that it's over!

@Pirouette: woohoo!! Good for you!!!
I went the the chiropractor this afternoon and I feel SO much better. I can lay down without hurting!! He also wants me to get out and since the adjustments should help. I'm dragging lately but I know if I do it, I'll feel better and it actually helps with me with the nausea.
clementine / 928 posts
@Pirouette: lol, I went walking. I figured I would start there to not embarrass myself as I have been getting winded just going up the stairs and grocery shopping

Haha the only way I can make myself exercise every day is to do it so early I don't realize how exhausted I am until it's over I said to someone yesterday as I was leaving class "I like how I am just starting to wake up as we're leaving every day....".
We'll see how long this goes!
apricot / 256 posts
I'm with you @jojogirl, I've scaled back from 6 days a week to 3-4 but if I don't hit my exercise class first thing in the morning, its a lost cause for the day.

I broke out the big pregnancy pillow this week and I seem to be sleeping better...but that may be a coincidence. I still wake up a lot to pee, but at least I can fall back asleep. My hips were starting to bother me, which happened last time, but is fixed by the pillow.
We are getting a treadmill delivered soon, but until that happens there is not much exercising happening. I'm starting to feel slightly motivated to do it, but we don't live in an area with sidewalks and now that there is snow/ice its unsafe to have the stroller out on the roads. There are, of course, safer areas where I could drive and park....but thats asking an awful lot My doctor told me not to worry too much about exercise/diet until I started feeling better (her words were, "oh, don't worry about it in the first trimester. just try to survive. you will feel better soon and can get back on track then."). I'm taking it to heart, because it makes me feel less guilty about my sedentary life.
We told my daughter last night! Earlier than planned, so hopefully nothing terrible happens now, but we are feeling pretty reassured by the recent ultrasound and were excited to tell her because she's been talking a lot about babies. She is excited, and asked a lot of questions about what the baby would do, especially when it was a "big girl." For some reason she got really fixated on this idea of having the baby sit on her lap and share her food! I showed her the ultrasound pictures and talked about the baby in my belly and she kept trying to figure out how to see it, which was really cute. It will be fun to bring her to my next appointment (in February!) to let her hear the heartbeat.
Hope everyone is hanging in there. My nausea is getting much, much better. Now I have an insatiable appetite instead.

Guh. Just got home from work this morning and felt the MS coming on since I hadn't eaten as much last night. I pushed DH out of the way and inhaled the red beans and rice he brought home lol. I was like "eat or barf, eat or barf"! This was after I cried all the way home in the car because our wedding song came on and it reminded me of DH and then the baby
God, I'm horrifying, who is this person!?!?
pomegranate / 3331 posts
@mrschickpea: seriously, why are stairs so hard when you are pregnant???
@JoJoGirl: I used to LOVE working out in the morning, and i miss it so much. But my DH is not an early riser, so I don't want to work out and leave him to deal with LO. Maybe I should sometimes though.
@Silva: that is so exciting and so so adorable!!!! I cannot wait for this moment with my daughter!
guys, the pregnancy brain is getting ridiculous over here. I went to make my coffee in my to go mug this morning (keurig kcup machine), and then I go to take a sip on my way to work, and realize i'm drinking dirty hot water. i didn't put a new kcup in! it was so gross and not at all what i needed to start my day.

@coopsmama: I have my ultrasound tomorrow too! I'm nervous/excited. This will be the first time we've seen the baby!
I've been trying to get to the gym every day, and it makes such a difference when I do. I feel so much better. But then again, the nausea is starting to subside (unless I don't eat for long periods) so that helps!

@Pirouette: "I thought I might die when I started, but I feel so good now that it's over!" <----Story of my life these days! I went to the gym yesterday to do a Fitness Blender video, and the whole time I was like, "This is horrible. Why am I here? This was not a good decision." But afterwards I felt good about it
@Silva: How fun that you got to tell your daughter! I bet she's excited to be a big sister. So sweet that she wants to share her food.
@Pirouette: I feel you on the pregnancy brain thing. I bought cat food yesterday, and I always buy the exact same flavor (my cats are picky and spoiled, lol). Yet somehow, this time I didn't notice while picking up 12 cans and scanning them one by one through self checkout, that I bought 12 cans of the wrong kind!
I have a question for any of our non-FTMs: When did you start showing with your first? I'm closing in on 10 weeks and I got nothing (except bigger boobs that I wish I could keep forever hahaha). I know it varies a lot, but just curious about the range!
kiwi / 595 posts
@MrsSCB: I didn't start showing till about 14 weeks, and then it was another 3-4 weeks till I looked pregnant not just chubby.
I'm not quite sure if I've popped yet this time around, but all my clothes fit like crap and I've gained zero pounds.
cantaloupe / 6017 posts
@MrsSCB: I told my clients at work when I was 20 weeks, and at that point I was actively "hiding" it, with scarves, vests, etc. But honestly, I don't think anyone would have guessed until maybe 18 weeks, and even then they wouldn't have been certain. I remember I was out to dinner with some people when I was 24 weeks along and the waitress made a point to tell me which of the cheeses on the cheese plate were pasturized. So, people could definitely tell by then.
I could tell I had a small bump by 14/15 weeks. But nobody else would have known. And I was nowhere near as bloated as I have been this time.
It will happen! I remember being desperate for a cute little belly- it makes it feel so much more real!
cantaloupe / 6017 posts
@OldpuebloJenn: I'm trying to accept that I just gain weight in the first trimester. Its how my body does it. This is my third pregnancy, and even though I didn't get very far last time, I still gained 5 pounds. I was up 6 at my last appointment (and, unfortunately, I was already 5 over my normal weight after not losing any weight after my miscarriage). I'm nervous about losing it after the baby comes, which wasn't really a concern for me last time. But seriously- I don't know how I will exercise with two kids to care for!

@MrsSCB: I didn't pop until around 27ish weeks. I had a small bump before then, but if you didn't know me, you would just assume I had eaten a few too many cheeseburgers and neglected the treadmill.
kiwi / 595 posts
@Silva: I think I gained weight in the first tri with my first because I thought I had a free pass! I gained (hangs head) 15 with my m/c cause wine, chocolate and carbs cure all in my world. I should have tried to lose weight before ttc again, but here I am. So I'm up 15 over my normal weight. This time I'm so nauseated, a symptom I never had in my first pregnancy that it's curbing any free pass ideas I may have had!
cantaloupe / 6017 posts
@OldpuebloJenn: Its funny, I was really nauseous so I didn't think I'd gain weight because I definitely wasn't eating more than usual (it seemed to me, anyway- obviously I am, I guess!).
Now my appetite is raging. At least I'm having a salad for lunch (with chips on the side...)!
pomegranate / 3331 posts
@OldpuebloJenn: I gained with my m/c too. sometimes life just isn't fair!
@MrsSCB: too funny about the cat food! i'm glad i'm not the only one. i want my brain back though!
re the timing of showing, it so depends on your body type. I've mentioned before that before my first, i had very tight abs, but i'm also really petite, so those too things combined to put me in the "did she gain weight?" category until around 30 weeks, when i finally started having a bump. but even then, people in public were not 100% certain. the one tell tale sign was my boobs, they got huge immediately! I started having a bump that you could see with no clothes on around 20 weeks maybe? but you definitely couldn't tell with clothes on at that point. I kept telling my husband "look, i have a bump!" because i was desperate to look pregnant not fat, and he laughed at me. I remember around a week before my c section he was like "wow, you're pregnant! congrats!"
re the first tri, i eat like CRAZY in the first tri to stave off nausea, and i gained a decent amount of weight last time and i'm sure already this time. i'm ok with that though, because anything's better than nausea!!

@MrsSCB: I took a picture at about 11.5w because I started to notice a tiny bump at the top of my stomach. I don't think it's anything else anyone but me would have noticed. By 18 weeks I think I was noticeably pregnant.
Right now at 8.5w, I think I look like my 15w picture from last time .
cantaloupe / 6017 posts
@ShootingStar: yeah, the bloating continues to be hilarious to me. My facebook memory two weeks ago was a picture of me at 24 weeks. I definitely look that big at the end of the day now.
pomelo / 5257 posts
@OldpuebloJenn: @Silva: @pwnstar: @Pirouette: @ShootingStar: Sounds like I might have a while to go then! I'm sure there will come a time when I will wish to be smaller, but right now, since I mostly look and feel the same, it's hard to believe there's even something in there. I'm pretty petite, but I was also told at my last appointment that my uterus tilts back, so I wonder if it'll take longer to move forward or something. Who knows!
pomelo / 5257 posts
@Pirouette: Oh and my boobs also got bigger very quickly. That's been my most obvious symptom (to me...and I guess DH, haha. Probably not to other people, I hope...)
cantaloupe / 6017 posts
@MrsSCB: oh, and for what its worth- maternity clothes will probably make you look more pregnant....especially the shirts
pineapple / 12234 posts
@mrschickpea: oh man, the TEARS. I cry so hard for silly reasons and then I get more nauseous from crying haha.

Has anyone had someone ASK if you're pregnant/when you're due??
My chiropractor hadn't looked at my paper work yet when he asked when I was due
pomegranate / 3331 posts
@MrsSCB: I know exactly how you feel, as i had to wait FOREVER last time around. I should have a much shorter wait this time! and yea, i think being petite, it's much more obvious when your boobs are all of the sudden huge! that was the cruel joke of the 1st tri - they got huge but also hurt so DH wasn't allowed to go anywhere near them!
pomelo / 5257 posts
@Pirouette: I was telling a couple of my friends that I've been thinking, "Hey, these look pretty nice!" But then I remember the scene in Knocked Up when the costume designer is talking about what happens to boobs during pregnancy and she was like, "And then they go down. And they stay down." lol
pomegranate / 3331 posts
@MrsSCB: haha! i never saw that movie but I can say that never happened to me, if it makes you feel any better I was a 32B before kids, a 32D or DD during pregnancy and nursing, and then back to normal post nursing. oddly enough, they haven't gotten bigger yet this time, which of course makes me nervous (stupid 1st tri, when you want every single symptom to ease your nerves)

Happy Friday, everyone. I have to catch up.
You're all making me feel like such a slacker in the exercise department. I haven't been feeling all that up to it.....canceled my gym membership maybe 6 months ago b/c I wasn't going. And now it's too dark in the morning and at night for me to run outside. I don't like the gym options near me, but I may have to suck it up and join one again. I wish we had room for an elliptical machine at home. I also have no idea how I'm ever going to fit in exercise once I have 2! I never really managed to get into a good groove after DS. I started this pregnancy 20 lbs. up from pre-pregnancy with my DS.
@Silva: Which pillow do you have? I didn't have one last time, and I could never get comfortable. I think I'll try one this time. Last time, I remember that my hips hurt really badly, and it was hard to turn over to the other side b/c of the belly. And then I'd do it all over again when the other hip started hurting. Boo.
And SO exciting that you told your daughter! I can't wait to tell DS! That will happen Mon. eve as long as our morning scan comes back with good results.
@HLK208: Hooray for the chiropractor. I'm so glad it helped! Just think how much better it will be once the new couch arrives, too!
@mrschickpea: Sounds familiar re: going up stairs. I'm in bad shape if it's this hard, and I'm not even 12w yet. EEK.
@Pirouette: Eeeeew re: "coffee" this morning. I can't remember anything lately. I'll walk into a room for a specific purpose and then can't remember what I'm doing there.
@MrsSCB: As others said, I really think it varies for everyone. I think I looked like I ate too many donuts around week 14? And then it just became more obvious from there. I think I officially popped between weeks 18-19. This time, I'm just at almost 12w, and I look like I did at 22-25w last time! Crazy.
@HLK208: Not officially, but I think I mentioned the other day about the older volunteer who asked me how it was going and swore I told her that #2 was on the way.
