@HLK208: Colds while pregnant are the worst! Hang in there. Decaf hot tea always seems to help loosen up congestion for me, might be worth a try. Feel better!!

I'm spotting and scared. I just had an ultrasound yesterday and everything looked great, so trying not to panic yet. I already spoke to my midwife and I'm supposed to stay in bed for the rest of the day and call her back tomorrow. I'm just so nervous...I'm 11w5d

@CoffeeMom: I'm so sorry, hope it clears up soon. Was it a transvaginal or abdominal ultrasound? I only mention that because I had spotting after every transvaginal ultrasound I ever had with my other pregnancies. I assume by 11 weeks they would've gone abdominal but some practices are different I know!

Sex can also cause the same thing and that's happened to me a few times, too, during pregnancy.

@coopsmama: It was abdominal. I'm not having any cramping, so I'm hoping that rest will do the trick. And of course DD woke up from her nap with a fever. At least she's willing to snuggle!

@Glitter: I'm so sorry to hear about your husband. Could it have been a migraine? I hope that whatever it was, it was a one time thing. I hope you can get some rest. I can imagine how stressful that was. I'm thinking of you all and wishing you the best. Keep us updated.

@CoffeeMom: No cramping is a good thing. Was it red or brown? I've had enough spotting/bleeding with this pregnancy to last we a lifetime. I will say that it doesn't scare me anymore really and rest does help. So try not to worry too much. You just saw your baby and all is well.

@agold: It was pink. I know that with all you have gone through, I really have nothing to complain about! It just makes me nervous. I hope you are doing better!!

And now it's red...trying not to freak out.

@CoffeeMom: Oh dear. Try not to panic as hard as it is. I have had lots of red and still have baby. Drink some extra fluids and rest your body as much as possible. Any cramping? Hopefully it is just a random bleed and will pass. Praying for you!

@CoffeeMom: Oh my gosh. Complain away! Spotting and bleeding is a real scary thing. I've also had red and that is what sent me into a near breakdown. Do you have an emergency line for the doctor that you can call? Or will you call tomorrow morning?

@dcw6411: @coopsmama: @MrsRcCar: @pregnantbee: @OldpuebloJenn: @agold: @mrschickpea: Thank you so much! I've had s bit of light cramping, but bleeding seems to have slowed down as long as I'm resting. I'm going to call my midwife again in the morning. Hopefully I'll be able to say it stopped. I'm a bit nervous she will put me on longer bed rest, but if that's what I have to do I suppose we will figure it out.

I've thrown up egg/hash brown casserole, a banana, and a Clif bar this morning. Sigh. I currently have chicken nuggets cooking in the oven. I don't even like chicken nuggets but they are one of the only things staying down for me lately.

I feel like my NVP has had a bad turn since getting to 9-10 weeks. What is this?! Isn't it supposed to be getting better?? 😭 With my second all nausea (even mild) was gone by 15 weeks so I'm really hoping for the same. In the meanwhile, just keeping on!

@coopsmama: I had the worst nausea of my entire pregnancy yesterday. I ended up having to take Zofrans, which I've never done before (6 hours apart, not at once). I don't usually throw up, but I was dry heaving in the car at the grocery store, I felt so sick.

  36. coopsmama

    cantaloupe / 6059 posts

@ShootingStar: Mine was the worst of the pregnancy yesterday, too! I could barely get out of bed/walk anywhere without dry heaving and spent the entire day drinking/sipping slowly to stay hydrated and trying to feel better in prep for the week. I was so grateful DH was home to watch the kids. (He was really great about just trying to get good nutrition in me and lots of fluids.)

And if I had meds I would take them, so I'm glad you were able to. Did they help?

  37. ShootingStar

    coconut / 8472 posts

@coopsmama: The meds did help. I take Diclegis every day, which takes the edge off usually. And I have Zofran for when I can't function. My Dr's office wasn't big on giving me the Zofran because it raises the chance of the baby having a congenital heart defect. But I looked into the study and it essentially raises your risk from 1% to 1.3-1.5%. So I take it sparingly, and the most dangerous time for heart development has no passed for me.

I'd ask your doctor if there's something they can give you, if you're comfortable with that. I don't love the Diclegis because it makes me tired. I almost didn't take it yesterday to test out whether I still needed it. Good thing I didn't, I would have thought it was doing a TON to help, lol. I've mostly adjusted, but it took time and I'd be nervous to do it as a SAHM.

@CoffeeMom: Good morning. I hope the bleeding/cramping has resolved. Were you able to reach your doctor?

@pregnantbee: Best wishes for your ultrasound results. Report back asap!

@coopsmama: I'm so very sorry about all your vomiting! I can't believe I've escaped that. But kudos to your husband for doing what he can to help keep you hydrated and otherwise healthy.

@ShootingStar: I'm sorry to hear about your nausea also! That is such a hard bummer. At least you found some medicines you are comfortable taking.

@dcw6411: @coopsmama: @Pirouette: @MrsSCB: @agold: You ladies are the best! Had the scan, and she is perfect so far. Still low chance of any Downs or other trisomy. Organs and limbs look good. Phew! I think we'll finally start telling family.

@pregnantbee: That's fantastic! I'm so glad your ultrasound went great and that you feel comfortable telling your family now! What makes you think you have a chance for Down Syndrome? Is it just that there's always a chance for anything? At least you can know that since you are having a girl, there is such a lower chance of autism.
