@Pirouette: just seeing your note about Spain... okay, never mind about family vacation I'm going to interview you and you @MrsSCB: via PM one of these days about living in the suburbs/leaving New York. I know we can do one kid here in this brownstone, but not two. my husband thinks Montclair=death, but I think leaving NYC=death to my salary/career, which is in fashion, so very location-specific. gahhhhh. anyway, I should be so lucky as to have that problem.

@LCTBQE: totally understand! You can pick my brain anytime! It is definitely a tough decision and we explored a lot of different options before settling on the suburbs. But I'd definitely recommend visiting a few areas so you can get a better sense of distance from the city and type of environment. Message me anytime

@MrsBeluga: Welcome! And props for getting through 63 pages!

@LCTBQE: Thanks for the rec! I will definitely check it out.

@coopsmama: Your bump looks great! So nice and round. And. Men. *sigh*

@LCTBQE: anytime! I felt a bit similarly -- I wanted to live elsewhere, but was concerned about my career. I was working on a network tv news show and while there are bureaus in other cities, it's not really the same. I love my current job, but it did take some adjusting to get here.

Alright y'all, I don't have a real bump yet, but here it is at 14 weeks 4 days:

    cantaloupe / 6059 posts

@pwnstar: I see it! You're so skinny but the fact that there is a slight point to it means it's real bump. I always show so super early with all of my kids. The midwives tell me it's the way I carry and something to do with my pelvis shape - bizarre. I wish I had a smaller bump but sadly by the end I'm just huge. You look awesome!

  7. pwnstar

    pear / 1718 posts

@coopsmama: It gets bigger as the day goes on! And yanno, I wish it was slightly bigger just to get out of the dreaded in between phase. It seems though that everyone with a smaller bump wants a bigger bump and vice versa!

I'm starting to feel bigger and rounding out at the top (which I'm sure it's because of my lack of muscle). Some pants a size up still fit but they are so annoying that they want to ride down below my bump and hang low. So I'm starting to look at maternity pants.

I've got the sinus head cold today and it sucks!

I'll post a bump photo. I think I look pregnant, but I haven't told work yet and I'm sure they think I'm just getting chubby! 17 weeks on Monday!

Also I only cropped my face because my mom hair is really good today:(

    @pwnstar: Adorable! I see it.

@MrsBeluga: Yup, a bump. So cute. When do you think you'll tell work? I made it 16w the first time and barely 12 this time before I felt I had to tell bc it was so obvious!

  11. Silva

    cantaloupe / 6017 posts

    @MrsBeluga: so cute!
@pwnstar: so...you are ripped, aren't you? And cute bump!

I cleaned my mirror for you guys. As you can see, regular shirts aren't going to cut it much longer (I feel like ruching on maternity shirts looks a little funny at the in between stage). I'm wearing a looser shirt over the pink one, just lifted it up to show off my insanely large belly. 15w and 3d.

  12. pregnantbee

    grapefruit / 4717 posts

@Silva: You look amazing and nowhere near "insanely large!"

  13. LCTBQE

    nectarine / 2461 posts

@pwnstar: @MrsBeluga: @Silva: all of yall look fantastic!!!
I want to be 17 weeks too MrsBeluga

I got full panel over-the-bump Paige maternity jeans from Bloomingdales that cost a fucking retirement account and they are radical. I told my husband the more children we have the more bang for our buck we'll get. I don't think he was impressed by the incentive.

  14. MrsBeluga

    apricot / 442 posts

@pregnantbee: I need to tell work like asap. My really nice boss that I really like has been in a bad mood and super busy all month, and I work at a tiny company and my mat leave (no matter how short) is sure to make his mood worse, so I've been avoiding adding to his plate. Will try to tell them this week or the next. I've been wearing baggy baggy clothes for the past month. I look super unstylish!

  15. LCTBQE

    nectarine / 2461 posts

also I have another appointment with my OB tomorrow and am getting pre-appointment is-everything-okay jitters. still obsessing over how I got a mysterious mild flu symptoms 36-hr virus 3 weeks ago, and I sound like a lunatic but I might ask for a listeria blood test.

so wondering, if you are a nervous wreck in pregnancy, does it go away ever? do you get more confident as you get further along, or do you just quell one fear and replace it with another?

  16. MrsBeluga

    apricot / 442 posts

@LCTBQE: laughing at the retirement account comment! I need to feel good when hugely preggo, so if Paige jeans make u feel cute, then I think it's money well spent:)

  17. pwnstar

    pear / 1718 posts

@Silva: Ha! No. Definitely not ripped. I have decent core strength and was in okay shape before this pregnancy, but nothing like the shape I was in before my first! I am one of the lucky ones whose butt and thighs grow faster than my belly (eta: belly probably looks small compared to my bootay). I should have known the second my thighs went from not touching to being BFFs that I was knocked up! And your belly is not huge at all! So cute and round too!

@MrsBeluga: Your bump is so cute and looks so happy in pink! Your secret keeping ability is impressive too!

@LCTBQE: I adore Paiges. My all-time favorite jeans are Paiges, and I hope to get back into them much sooner this time than I did last time.

  18. pregnantbee

    grapefruit / 4717 posts

@LCTBQE: I also think the jeans-to-kids ratio comment was awesome. I wish I could tell you that the anxiety goes away during pregnancy, but I tend to be nervous through most of it. It gets a bit better once you can feel movement. Like mid-appointment reassurance. I'm also getting super nervous for my anatomy scan early next month. I also have an OB appt at the end of the month.

@MrsBeluga: You said you had read a lot of the thread while joining? Did you see my "sweater chronicles"? It got so ridiculous trying to hide the huge bump. Haha! I'm sorry your boss has been under so much stress, and I hope telling them goes as well as possible.

  19. pwnstar

    pear / 1718 posts

@LCTBQE: With my first pregnancy, I had some complications that made it difficult to relax and just enjoy the pregnancy. I was also working way too hard (I won't make that mistake again). But once you start feeling movement--and hiccups!--it's easier to feel more confident that all is well. Toward the end, that's how I knew something wasn't quite right; LO wasn't having a nightly dance parties anymore. Long story short, I was induced and have a beautiful, healthy three year old.

@pwnstar: ha! I used to have a butt....it disappeared with my first pregnancy. I was going to say "cutie with the bootie" but decided it was too much for strangers on Internet you look great!

@ShootingStar: you look great, and I love your photo bomber!

  22. pregnantbee

  24. pregnantbee

    grapefruit / 4717 posts

@ShootingStar: I look like I did at 23-25w last time! I had a waiter congratulate me last night then ask if I was 6 months along. Sigh.

  25. pwnstar

    pear / 1718 posts

@ShootingStar: @pregnantbee: I would love to be bumpy-er! You both look great!

@Silva: Lol! No worries! Most mamas have a hard time keeping their maternity bottoms up early in pregnancy, but not me . . . my booty keeps them from falling down!

I got up this morning and worked out, took a shower, and then proceeded to throw up (mostly just the water I drank during my workout). It totally caught me off guard, and for the life of me, I have no idea why. In other news, I am wearing a maternity skirt/shirt today to work. I know I don't really need it, but by the end of the day, my normal clothes feel so uncomfortable, so why not?!

@pwnstar: @MrsBeluga: @Silva: @ShootingStar: @pregnantbee: You all look great! I love seeing all the beautiful bumps I feel like I'm starting to grow, although it's not noticeable to anyone else yet, haha. Looking down, my belly totally looks bigger but from the side you can hardly tell. Optical illusion!

@LCTBQE: Good luck at your appointment today, yay! FWIW, I asked my doc about listeria when I was sick last week and she didn't seem remotely concerned about it. So that made me feel better. But I totally understand your worry, it's hard not to be!

@pwnstar: sorry you got sick I've actually been feeling worse, uh, digestively in the 2nd tri. I felt great and not nauseous at all up until a week or so ago, and I thought I was in the clear. Now I don't know if my stomach is getting less roomy or what, but I've been having reflux and a lot of gas all of a sudden (lovely...ha). I hope it was just a fluke for you.

I can't believe I'll be 15 weeks tomorrow! Feels like it's going simultaneously fast and slow. Less than two weeks until our elective gender scan and I can't WAIT. I also dragged myself to the gym yesterday for the first time in well over a week and it felt great. Hoping to get fully back on the exercise wagon after falling off due to travel and being sick. Spin class tomorrow, woo!

16w appt this morning and everything went well! Had a Doppler and babys HR was 145 and I got my redraw for the Panorama. Apparently , our baby is still super bouncy in there like he/she was at 12w! I sent DH a video so he could hear the HB too since he had to work At least he said it made his day

Question: Does anyone get heart palpitations? It doesn't hurt or anything, but it'll feel like my heart is skipping a beat. I read that it's not unusual because of increased blood flow, etc., but just wondering if anyone else notices this. Probably happens once to a few times a day.

  33. coopsmama

    cantaloupe / 6059 posts

@MrsSCB: This has never happened to me - that I've noticed, anyway. Pregnancy is so weird with its many symptoms.

I do get hot flashes with this pregnancy and I did with my son, too, which makes me wonder if baby is a boy. Hmmmm.

I love seeing all of these baby bump pictures. Everyone carries so different it's so interesting to see.
@mrschickpea: I didn't know they did a second part to the Panorama so I was surprised When I had to do the second blood draw.

I have my anatomy scan on March 5th. Feeling tired this week. And it doesn't help that my husband is on a business trip. Single parenting 2 toddles while pregnant is fun. I can not imagine how single woman or woman with husbands on deployment do it.

Hey ladies, I have been MIA for so long. Sorry! Life is crazy with the two toddlers and their activities. Baby seems great and I am feeling well. Excited for our ultrasound on March 8th. I can't believe how fast the last few weeks have flown by. I had to go buy quite the stash of maternity clothes as I fit in none of my regular clothes anymore. 3rd pregnancy bumps are no joke!

@MrsSCB: This happens to me as well. I normally notice it the most when I lay down. It seems to have calmed down a little for me the last couple weeks but it still happens at least once a day. I don't like the feeling at all!

@MrsSCB: he's been gone a lot of Feb. He was gone 3 days on week one and two. Home last week then left yesterday till late Friday. Then he's home for a week then gone Sunday to late Friday again. He doesn't normally travel so much at one time so it's been daunting.
