@pregnantbee: @pwnstar: I can't wait until I actually feel the movement! I thought maybe I did in the middle of the night, but it also could have been gas bubbles... 😳 lol

@T.H.O.U.: so cool that you can do weekend appointments! I hope all is well!

@MrsSCB: Yeah, still nothing here. OB said it was fine on Fri., so I'm not worried.

@T.H.O.U.: Tap, tap, tap.....anything? I hope your appointment went well.

The problem with feeling movement early is that now I haven't felt very much for two days and I'm mildly freaking out. I know it is so early the baby could have its back out and I wouldn't feel it. And yesterday I was super gassy (thanks, fiber powder), so it was probably just hard to distinguish.
But I'm legitimately considering driving 40 minutes to see my friend who used to be a midwife and has a Doppler.

  6. pregnantbee

    grapefruit / 4717 posts

@Silva: Yeah, that would probably make me nervous, too. I bet baby just changed positions and that all is well.

I've been feeling movement off and on too! Very exciting. But yes, i feel you @silva: on the paranoia when you DON'T feel anything. I still have daily nausea (awesome) to give me some consolation that things are still ok, though.

  8. coopsmama

    cantaloupe / 6059 posts

@Glitter: I still have nausea over here, too, at 16+3. Fun stuff. NOT.

@Silva: Oh yessss. I completely understand. Last night I felt a few kicks before bed and it was wonderful but today - nothing. It's hard to be in that place where you can't expect it daily but after you feel it once it feels like you should be able to have frequent reminders all is okay.

@T.H.O.U.: Wow, I didn't know OB's ever did US on Sundays. That 's really cool and nice for working parents. I hope you were able to find out the gender and that baby is doing well.

@Silva: @Glitter: @coopsmama: I've been feeling some movement here and there too . . . very sporadic. It's pretty cool when it happens, but yeah, I can't wait for regular movement! With my first, I had regular movement from about 18.5 weeks on, and for most of the third trimester, she had hiccups at least once a day and also had a regular nightly dance partay.

Hi all, just checking in to say HI. We got our panorama results last week...mixed feelings on that. We did have one high-risk result return for a pattern that indicates we might have a sex chromosome "defect". The result indicated a pattern that is consistent with XXX syndrome. Without getting into details of the craziness that was the last week...we spoke with a genetic counselor and decided that we're glad we know and there's nothing really to be done with this information from the standpoint of our pregnancy and prenatal care. So, there you go, now you all know someone who had a "result" from the panorama test. The other thing, if you haven't already deduced is that we're having a girl! We haven't told anyone yet and I was dying to tell someone so Yay, now someone knows!!

Also, I happened to catch what I'm calling the mid-west death virus last week. Serious sinus impact, hacking cough, lots of grossness. i hope none of you end up getting it because it was MISERABLE. I had to take 2 days off work, still sound like crap and still have a ton of mucus production. I am so glad I don't have another kiddo right now because I don't know how you amazing momma's do it.

@MrsKerch: Congratulations on your baby girl!!! I'm so sorry that you're not feeling well, and that the results of the Panorama brought some concerning news. You are in my thoughts!

@MrsKerch: I'm sorry to hear about your stressful week. I don't know anything about XXX syndrome, but it certainly sounds like good news that there's absolutely nothing you need to do differently with this pregnancy. Congrats on your baby girl!!! My husband and daughter are both sick, but it doesn't sound nearly as bad as what's going around by you. I'm glad the worst is behind you!

@MrsKerch: Congratulations on the baby girl! It sounds like you have a good plan and can get excited about this baby girl!

I had the sinus/allergy/head cold last week and lingering to this week. It really is miserable. OB said today not much else I can do.

@T.H.O.U.: Thanks for the updated list and sorry your sinuses are acting up. I've had to deal with that multiple times over the year including in Dec. when newly pregnant, and they wouldn't let me take anything except do sinus rinses. Ugh. Hope it passes quickly. I got worried when there was no update from you about your u/s.

@MrsKerch: Hi! Thank you for sharing. Congratulations on your baby girl! You're helping the girls on the board catch up That's good news that you can just proceed as usual. I hope you feel better soon -- that sounds awful.

@MrsKerch: Congratulations on finding out that you are having a girl!! I'm sorry you had to deal with genetics issues. You are already such a wonderful and amazing mama to your beautiful little girl.

@pregnantbee: Yes! Boys are beating our girls by just one!

Who is going to find out gender next??

second + timers, what are you guys planning on buying? I think I'm going to start a private amazon list so i can keep track of what we need for #2. Obviously, we'll need non-girly clothes but aside from that, I'm thinking not a whole lot! this is my list so far:

-new booster seat for LO so we can put the highchair back on the other one
-2 more convertible car seats (1 for each car)
-some kind of ride on board for the stroller so LO doesn't have to walk everywhere
    -diapers, wipes, etc.
-one of those glow lights for MOTN feedings - we broke ours

what am I missing? we still have tons of burp clothes and blankets...I feel like we must need more stuff!

  20. T.H.O.U.

    wonderful clementine / 24134 posts

    @Pirouette: Thats a great list!

    -We needed a new humidifier
    - Second monitor (she just got a cheap one so he could use the Angel Care)
    - New Diaper bag (just a want not a need)
    - More storage containers (just for things like old clothes, etc)
    - Baby book or baby picture frames?
    - New bottles or pacifiers that need to be replaced

  21. JoJoGirl

    cantaloupe / 6206 posts

    @Pirouette: Almost nothing! We need

    - new baby carriers since i hated the moby

    - we're reusing our cloth diapers and wipes

    - A sidecar for the bed since we didn't use one last time

    - A second baby monitor

    - A new diaper bag since ours broke.

    - A booster seat for LO so baby can eventually use the high chair

We will eventually buy 2 new convertible car seats, but probably not for another year! Our bucket is still in good shape.

@MrsKerch: Congrats on your girl! And sounds like you have a good attitude and plan after the genetic counselor meeting. Sorry you're sick -- I hope you feel better soon!

@agold: we find out Saturday! Assuming baby cooperates Don't know if anyone will be squeaking in before me, though, haha.

I told my current boss today and she was super excited -- she screamed and gave me a big hug! So that was nice. But she's leaving in April, so I still have to tell my new boss. I think I'll do that next Monday after our next U/S. Can't wait to just get it out of the way!

  25. ShootingStar

    coconut / 8472 posts

@Pirouette: We needed to buy all new nursery furniture - crib, dresser, nighstand, lamp, curtains, decoration stuff. I'm also going to buy a Bassinest.

Other than that I need to buy all new bottle nipples, some new pacifiers and I want a new pump bag.

Eventually we'll buy DS new harnessed boosters. Like a Britax Frontier or Graco Nautilus.

I realize we have a bunch of used girl clothes someone gifted us last time that we just stuck in a box and never used. And we had a ton of gender neutral stuff through 6m. So we're set with newborn and 0-3, and maybe about 1/2 to being set for 6m clothes.

@Pirouette: I have soooo many boy things if you're interested. Part me wants to try to get a dollar or two an item through selling, part of me wants to just wants to throw it in a trash bag and leave it at Goodwill!

  26. JoJoGirl

    cantaloupe / 6206 posts

Oh yes, a whole new set of toddler furniture for LO so baby can have hers. We went shopping this weekend!

  27. Pirouette

    pomegranate / 3331 posts

@T.H.O.U.: oh yea, new pacis for sure. We will likely need more bottles, as I'm 100% determined to get this kid to take a bottle, but I still have a few that I will try before buying more, in case he is picky like his sister and doesn't like this brand.

@JoJoGirl: we never did a bucket with #1, since we didn't have a car for her first year. So we have a convertible that starts at 3lbs (since LO was so small), and I figure we'll just buy another for the other car. So basically, I'm planning on skipping the infant seat again simply because I don't want to have to buy a temporary seat!

oh I also want to get the infant insert for the tula because I really want to wear this baby. I have a k'tan which i lent to a friend and will steal back as well.

@MrsSCB: yay!!! so glad telling your boss went well! It's such a relief to be "out" at work

@ShootingStar: wow, that's amazing that you have all that girl stuff! I have tons of girl stuff too - like up to 18 months, almost 24. I would definitely be interested in boy things, as we have absolutely nothing! I found a few white onesies and a few white side snap shirts, most of the rest of the stuff had some kind of frilly girl stuff on it, ugh!

we bought LO all new bedroom furniture, so her nursery is going as is to her brother! yay for green walls

@Pirouette: Oh dear. I kind of want to cry thinking about this. Just before I found out I was pregnant I sold the last of our baby stuff. We need everything again. My stomach hurts just thinking of it. With our first we had a shower and our second a small sprinkle. Those helped so much! I know this time we won't be having either which is certainly understandable since it's our third. Here are the big things I know we need:

    - Car seat
    - Swing
    - Baby Monitor
    - Diapers
    - New baby wrap/carrier
    - Diapers
    - Bedding
    - Clothing for 18 months and under...
    - Pacifiers and at least one bottle ( so eventually I can leave baby for an hour or two).
    - Baby bath tub

I am sure there is more, but I definitely will scale WAY back from what we bought for our first. Oh, and we bought a new car since three car seats would not fit in our old car. Yikes $$$.

  29. Pirouette

    pomegranate / 3331 posts

@dcw6411: eek, sorry to bring up a sore spot!! yea, we're not planning on doing any type of shower or anything, but i'm sure the grandparents will spoil the baby just the same. I'm so glad we bit the bullet on LO's big girl furniture before I got pregnant, because it feels like less of a hit with having to buy multiple car seats, etc. now!

    wonderful clementine / 24134 posts

@dcw6411: Ouch! Yea we got ride of a bunch of baby stuff including the swing and car seat. Those need to be replaced. Most of the other stuff was stuff we didn't use with either of our first two (like hundreds of burp clothes or a bunch of little infant rattles).

I haven't been able to think of anything new we need except a diaper bag backpack since I hear it's easier to use out alone with 2 kids... Any advice on this? Oh and if it's a girl then definitely lots of girly clothes.

We kept everything from DS and own a baby store so I'm sure we already have everything we need.

  32. agold

@Glitter: You own a baby store?!?!?!?!

  33. Silva

    cantaloupe / 6017 posts

We don't Need much, I'm trying to restrain myself because as sad as it sounds, buying things for the baby was one of my big methods of bonding last time.
-new diaper covers, the elastics on ours are shot and I'm not interested in replacing them. We were given a few by a friend, so I think I will just get 4
-glider. Didn't have room for one last time, my mom is buying this for me!
-new sheepskin- we use these for diaper changes, naps, playing, etc. and my daughters is occupied in her reading nook
-new bottles, etc. I didn't work at all until my daughter was 16 months, but this baby will be home with my husband one day a week from 3 months on.
-new crib sheets, diaper pad covers (sewing these)
-a dresser- we've been using the antique baby dresser/changing table in our mudroom for storage, so we need to get something to replace it
-a ring sling and maybe a woven wrap. I really want to get a wool blend ring sling, and if I do that I will wait awhile to get a woven wrap, just for financial reasons

Baby woolens/cold weather clothes (opposite season babies)- we've been given some, and I scored some woolens on sale.
    Coming home outfit!

    Wash clothes and towels
Then stuff like diaper cream, nipple cream, etc

@agold: Yep DH and I started the business 2+ years ago while pregnant with DS so that I could work from home after having him. We have a store room, advertise through Facebook and deliver to our customers. Really simple but pregnant moms love it! You can check us out on Facebook! http://www.facebook.com/preggyplus

@Pirouette: Hmm. Was just starting to think about this.

I already bought a new changing table pad (splurged on Keekaroo Peanut!) b/c ours died.

    - new bottle brush

    - pacis

    - new bottles depending on condition (haven't assessed yet)

    - will reuse crib and rocker, but need another dresser/changing table. DS uses his as a dresser now, but I'd prefer he keep it and then get a longer one for DD since his was only the length of the changing pad, and there was nowhere to put soiled diapers or a change of clothes.

    - new baby bath - the stopper on ours broke, so I got rid of it.

    - newborn wrap of some sort -- I want to try a ring sling.

    - crib sheets, rug and other decorations to go with her room

    - diapers

    - girl clothes (and also go through all the boy stuff to see what can be reused for a girl)

    - we'll reuse the bucket seat. depending on DS's size and height, we may be able to move him to a booster and then use our 2 convertible seats for DD. don't know.

    @Glitter: SO cool!
