@ShootingStar: yea i really don't understand why that is a gold only feature. I know almost nothing about web design but it seems like it would've been almost easier to make it a sitewide feature than to limit it to gold only.

@Pirouette: Well, it's probably not that hard. When you make any features switchable (gold vs non-gold) then you can put the switch on anything, really. But it's one thing to only let people send private messages or view certain threads. But general good usability and not extra features shouldn't have to be paid for.

@ShootingStar: YES. That is the one feature that is making me want to get Gold again. It's really infuriating it's not standard.

Thank you girls. I'm actually shocked. I was so prepared to be a boy mama. But Im so excited for this girl.

@T.H.O.U.: so great to hear your baseball husband get sporty with your girl. My husband has already talked about golf with our girl. So crazy to think!!

Also, I heard the heartbeat at my doctors appointment and my due date was moved to August 24. And I like my new OB. Phew. What a day.

@agold: Do you want me to update your due date on the list?

Yes, DD (age 4.5) has been going out for a 9 round of golf with DH lately. Sometimes she doesn't nap anymore and so DH takes her so I can nap with the baby (and he feels like he's getting out doing something fun). I think mostly she eats snacks and picks flowers but she does swing and putt some.

@T.H.O.U.: A friend of mine has a 6 year old and she full on golfs. They do a weekend golf program with her and she does little kid tournaments. It's the most adorable thing to see the pictures on Facebook.

@LCTBQE: awww you look great! such a cute bump! I feel so behind...still just kind of thicker around the middle, but no real bump visible And re: daycare -- even my mom was like, "Oh, you don't want to just get someone to come to your house to take care of the baby?" The logistics of that seem even more complicated, though, and I'm finding daycare complex enough. Plus someone being in my home, alone with the baby seems almost more nerve-wracking. Definitely would have to find the perfect person! We're on one waiting list that's supposedly 18 months long :-o I'm visiting another place today, but they probably won't have an opening until early 2017, so we still need to find somewhere that will be ready in November. It's exhausting!

@agold: Yay, congrats on your girl!!

@T.H.O.U.: yes, please update if it's not too much trouble. And 9 holes at 4.5 years old! That is so very adorable. Your husband sounds like a great guy.

@MrsSCB: Don't feel behind!!! I didn't have a real 'bump' with my first until I was like 20+ weeks. I feel lame having such an enormous bump this time at 14 It's totally normal to still just look like you had too much pizza at this stage with your first!

@pregnantbee: Sorry about your little guy, that sounds rough. You're right, though, that something like it is bound to happen sometime -- kids are crazy! When my sister and I were little, she was riding her little trike around in the house. I opened the door, and she rode right out and down the front steps She cut her lip, but she was fine and no lasting scars!

@pregnantbee: when DS1 was 22 months we were making waffles for breakfast and he was helping by setting the table and he tripped walking. The plate broke and cut his finger open. He had to get 8 stitches on his little ring finger. He also got them taken out at the hospital the day DS2 was delivered because it was the 10 days and we were already there. Lol

Such a bummer. Stitches are hard on everyone. Hope he heals soon.

@mrschickpea: Yay! So exciting. Still waiting over here....

@pwnstar: Thank you. I feel terrible that I was mostly responsible. It was the worst feeling in the world to watch my baby get hurt, especially due to a bad decision I made.

@Pirouette: Thank you. Sigh. I guess there was always going to be a first time. I'm just sad it already happened. And, no blood on the shirt, woo. Small things? Funny story! And, oh, your MIL. I kinda love that it happened since she ruined your first. HAHA. Joke was on her this time

@ShootingStar: It's really frustrating that they would dampen accessibility and make us pay for better. Sounds like you and DH are in similar fields

@coopsmama: Thank you. It was an adrenaline rush kinda night....and the WOHM rat race continues this morning. I am so crazy impressed at how DS handled it. Only really cried at the initial injury time. By the time we were on our way to Urgent Care, he was chatting and laughing. And he said, "this is such a fun adventure!" WUT. We were so unbelievably proud of him. And I still feel awful. I think I'M more emotional about it this morning than I even was last night. I guess more time to digest what happened?

@agold: Yes! What @ShootingStar: said about headbands and bows! My other first thought was yay, more on the board! We're inching up on the !

@MrsSCB: Wow, I can't believe she rode right down the stairs. Glad she's ok. I just feel like a bad mom for making the poor decision that led to my baby getting hurt.

As for daycare.....I really thought hard about what to do, and my conclusion was that a nanny seemed so much harder to find. I also thought it would be a lot better for social interaction to have him in daycare. But I purposely picked a small in-home one for more personal interaction. It worked out great, and he's far ahead of the other kids in his current preschool because of that. Of course putting them in daycare means the introduction of tons of germs. That part was NOT fun. I had used up all time on leave....and then a month or 2 after starting, he'd get sick, then give it to me, then I'd have to stay home for him, then me. Was just scraping by. Not trying to scare you, but just keep that in mind, too.

@Aandmklover: Oh, no! Poor little guy. That also must have felt terrible for YOU, especially at such a young age. And, uh....convenient for removal. LOL. Thanks for empathizing. What an awful feeling.

So now if you've read this far, here's the update. I'm truly impressed and surprised at how amazing he handled the whole incident. Of course he cried when the injury first happened. But he was laughing and chatting by the time we got in the car on the way to Urgent Care. When we were there, he was totally cool and thought it was fun. He only cried when they put the numbing solution on before doing actual numbing shots. They wrapped him up like a burrito (which he thought was hilarious, and I would have freaked out due to claustrophobia), gave him shots at the injury site, and gave him SIX stitches. Not a peep from him. I can't tell you the amount of amazement and pride I felt at how he handled this. We didn't get home until around 9:30, and he ate and went to bed by around 10p. Woke up this morning as if nothing happened. Didn't say anything about being in pain. And I think the best part for him was that they gave him THREE stickers when they were done. Wow. He handled it so much better than I would have.

@pregnantbee: I'm glad your DS handled it like a pro! I once accidentally let my DS fall down the stairs. I felt so guilty and thought I'd permanently hurt him.

Anyone else have trouble getting down enough water? I stink at drinking plain water. I'm ok if I'm thirsty but that's normally later at night. I know I need to up my intake, but it makes me feel icky everytime I try to drink more.

  39. MrsSCB

    pomelo / 5257 posts

@dcw6411: Me! I have such a hard time drinking water. Drinking those LaCroix flavored sparkling waters helps. No calories or sweeteners, but it still feels more exciting than plain, old water

@dcw6411: That is such a bummer. Water is about the only thing I want to ingest at the moment. I hope this passes for you.
