@pregnantbee: Right?! And they're people I know, but not people I know well or work with regularly. One kept saying how she didn't show in her first trimester either. I was like yeah, so, I'm 15 weeks . . . !

@pwnstar: I do not get how people feel it is necessary to share news that is not their's to share....
grapefruit / 4717 posts
@pwnstar: WUT. What is it with people we know assuming we somehow didn't know about the pregnancy just because we chose to wait to share??
apricot / 382 posts
@ShootingStar: I felt like that for one day last week, and then it went away as fast as it came on. Odd!!

@dcw6411: If people tell me things about another person, the last thing I would do is run over to that person and say, "I just heard [fill in the blank]. Congratulations!" And some of them want to hug me. Okay. I can deal with that. But I actually had to block an attempted tummy touch! Dafuq?!
apricot / 382 posts
@pwnstar: Oh HECK NO!!!!!!!!!! Trying to tummy touch AT ALL, much less when they just found out from some one else. Wtf?!?! This makes me so glad I stay home now and don't work at my old office. This girl's their pregnancy hormones would have snapped.

@ShootingStar: Some days my boobs feel so heavy, and a couple of times I had the sensation that I was leaking.
pear / 1718 posts
@dcw6411: I totally took a step back and put my hand out to block their hand. So inappropriate and absurd!

@agold: yay for gender reveal! I have a low bump too at 16w4d. The HB was really low right above my pelvic bone.

@dcw6411: Yes!! So sore (like I got a good workout or something)! Never had this last time, but I have a friend who was sore, then it evolved into lightning pains throughout the day, and it never went away until delivery :(.

And here's today's bump photo at 17w 5d. This is now my favorite maternity shirt. Just got it in the mail from Old Navy. Promptly bought in another color. Of course they're sold out in my size in the 3rd color
coconut / 8472 posts
@pregnantbee: ooh I love that shirt on you! I need more maternity clothes, I have no idea how I got by on so little last time. Plus most of them are short sleeve because I didn't need them until summer. But I hate to spend money on stuff I'll only get a few weeks out of.

@pwnstar: @MrsSCB: thanks for this daycare conversation. so many of the people I know have nannies--not mega-rich, just working couples-- but it seems out of reach and excessive for us to employ an entire person. I'm going to take this exact advice. and so nice to hear your LO has been doing well there
@pregnantbee: @MrsSCB: @Pirouette: yep, my husband came to all the first-tri U/S appointments when we were both scared shitless, but I think from here on out he'll only come to the A/S, probably.
@coopsmama: what a perfectly appropriate reply you had to a ridiculous question. I never can come up with anything that good on the spot, I only think of snappy stuff like that later, usually on the subway not rude in the least.
@JoJoGirl: @Silva: the intense cramping and leaking/peeing sound so, so nerve-wracking. but seems like it happens quite a bit? *very* glad to hear both of the problems chilled the fuck out for you.
Guys I'm so excited! I realized today that everyone (including @Pirouette, our August caboose) is now in the second trimester! right? YAY.

@pregnantbee: @dcw6411: you both look so cute!!
@dcw6411 every time I see your name in this thread I am thrilled all over again that all of the complications you had worked out
@agold: gahhhh I can't wait for your news damn east coast/west coast time difference

@T.H.O.U.: I will definitely be using the gold bumps thread in the future, but wanted to post my headless horseman shot on this board because I finally have something to show-- my husband took this one this morning, right at 14w, in a dress that used to fit. All elbows and ass, but a little something bump-wise where there was definitely nothing before

@ShootingStar: Thank you! I feel silly buying so much stuff. But I figure that if I feel better in and like my clothes, that makes for a happier pregnant me.
@dcw6411: Thank you! You are so cute! What a perfect little bump!

@LCTBQE: Thank you and OMG you look amazing!! I may have to re-up GOLD just to participate in that thread. I have about a week left. Boo.

And so that white shirt that I just posted me in? When I get home from Urgent Care, I will have to check that no blood got on it. Yup, you read that right. On our evening walk tonight where DS rode a balance bike and I walked, he was pulled off the bike by our dog and got a huge chin gash from the curb. Cue tears all around. He's doing ok but we're still waiting for stitches. I guess the first time was bound to happen sometime?? (He asked to hold the dog himself and the dog took off after another passing dog, thus pulling DS along for a way too fast ride and off the curb.) I feel terrible.
nectarine / 2461 posts
@pregnantbee: noooooo... I think many of us have learned the hard way that it's basically fucking impossible to ride a bike while holding your dog's leash did he have to get stitches? poor babe.
and thanks! I want it to get bigggggger. I actually just got gold a couple of weeks ago because I wanted to be able to do private messages/threads, and it's nice. plus, HB has been so valuable to me through the miscarriages, and I like supporting them.
grapefruit / 4717 posts
@LCTBQE: I knew it was a bad idea while doing it yet I still let it happen Yup, stitches. Fun times over here.
I may need to get gold again. I love the gold private message feature. And, yes, this community has been amazing. Love that you just want to be bigger. People keep commenting on how big I am once I tell them when I'm due. It's awesome. Ha!
clementine / 928 posts
@LCTBQE: phew! You are so tall and with a long torso like me! Though I am definately not fit like you! I never got to lose all the weight I wanted before becoming pregnant. I'm carrying pretty low still in my pelvis but it's causing a pooch to push up around my belly button. So not flattering You look just lovely

Baby just kicked me 4 times consecutively. Best first feeling ever

@pwnstar: haha not quite!! I'm only 15 weeks tomorrow, so still like 3 to go til 4 months yikes!

@pregnantbee: I am so sorry about your LO! I hope you both recover quickly. My LO had surgery as a baby, so I totally understand the tears all around. Still lookin' good though!
@dcw6411: Such a cute bump - and I love the stripes!
@LCTBQE: OMG how cute are you!!! Seriously! We considered a nanny for LO, but ultimately decided that daycare would provide more socialization (and later more activities). After we found a center we liked, it was an easy decision and really has been for the best.
@mrschickpea: So wonderful!

@JoJoGirl: This is when you need to listen to the glass half full peeps my friend . . . because the first two weeks totally count! So you're a good 3.75 months knocked up in my book!

@pregnantbee: i love your bump and your shirt is adorable! poor little guy i hope everything went ok and he's not in pain now.
@dcw6411: you look great!!
@LCTBQE: yay! haha i love being the caboose...it makes time go faster when everyone is ahead of you you look amazing! I love your bump!
I'm thinking i might renew gold, mostly because of the private message feature.

oh funny story. I had ordered these little scratch off cards to reveal the sex to our parents, but I ordered them before we found out, so i ordered 1 boy and 1 girl set (they were $2 each, so I figured why not). They came yesterday and my MIL opened the package because it was wet, then realized what they were and put them aside for me. But they messed up, they sent me 2 sets of girl scratch off cards! I laughed when i saw, because she thought she'd accidentally spoiled the surprise, but nope, she duped herself I then wrote her a little card telling her it was a boy and we had a nice little moment. But i'm cracking up that she first spoiled my pregnancy announcement and then almost my gender reveal.

@Pirouette: I renewed gold almost exclusively because of the jump to last read feature. The site was essentially unusable without it. I had no idea that was just a gold thing. As a person who designs web interactions so they're user friendly, I'm kind of horrified they made that a paid feature. You shouldn't have to pay for general good usability. But I spend a lot of time on here, I figure I can keep supporting them.
