@agold: Aaaaaah! Adorable! Thank you for sharing your beautiful bump.

Thanks, all! I've been obsessively looking at boy names and adorable little boy clothes already. He's going to have an excellent wardrobe, lol.
@agold: you look great! Such a cute bump! And yes, my family is pretty excited. My sister already went shopping for him today, apparently
pomelo / 5257 posts
@T.H.O.U.: Yes, I was happy to see so much cute stuff! I loved a lot of Zara's clothes. They're pretty pricey but I'll look out for sales. Also, I'm kind of into little preppy baby boy shortalls and rompers, they are adorable! I figure I might as well dress him in sweet baby clothes as long as he'll let me

@pregnantbee: @MrsSCB: Thank you girls! I think I felt the baby moving yesterday, also!
@MrsSCB: That is really so great that your sister is so excited about your baby boy. And yes, there are great boy clothes now.

@agold: Cute little baby bump! I adore those first bump shots.
@MrsSCB: Oh my goodness, little boy clothes can be so much fun! I don't blame you if you spend a fortune. (my DH is so relieved we have clothes for both genders in the right season this time around - will save us so much money but far less fun for me! ;))

Hi Ladies. Do you mind if another July mama joins you? Am due the 25th but feel it will probably be an August babe anyway
pomelo / 5257 posts
@coopsmama: lol I kept showing my H all these outfits on my laptop yesterday and he was like, "uh huh. Yeah. Very cute." Probably thinking "how many things are you going to show me?" Good thing he's patient
@AprilFool: not at all, welcome! Are you expecting a girl or boy or TG? Do you have any other kids?

@agold: you look great!!!
@AprilFool: yes, please join us! I believe you and i were in another due date group together briefly that didn't work out well for either of us excited to see you here and to go through a positive experience together this time

@AprilFool: Welcome! Glad to have you join us. We really should've just done a combined July/August board since there were so few July mamas active on your DD board. How has your pregnancy been so far? Do you know what you're having?

@agold: You look great!
@AprilFool: Welcome! The more the merrier!
I had a good appointment on Friday; heartbeat was nice and strong! Still no movement on the name front, but, we did pick paint colors for LO's big girl room and for the baby's nursery.

@coopsmama: seriously. we should invite any of them looking for a more active group to join us here! I remember my due date board with my first was so quiet, but by the time I realized how dead it was, I felt weird joining a new group that was so deep in conversation already.

@pwnstar: ooh what colors? My LO picked a muted shade of purple for her big girl room - it came out great! and yay for strong h/b!

@pwnstar: Glad you had a good appt - it is always so reassuring to hear a good HB!

So what I'm realizing about multiple pregnancies is that every single negative symptom seems to come a bit earlier each time. I'm only 17.5 weeks and the awful, awful hip pain at night is back in full force. I only had this around 36 weeks + with my first, 30 weeks + with my second, and now have had the last few nights with this baby. Chiropractor appts seemed to help a lot with it the last two times but I had to go weekly and I really didn't want to have to start paying for that already again. With my first, my midwife practice has six hour long massages for each week leading up to birth and that probably helped a lot, too.
Anyone else have anything going on like that??
grapefruit / 4717 posts
@coopsmama: Yup! I already have some hip pain which I didn't get until much later last time. I've been trying to sleep with a pillow between my knees, but I don't know if that's helping. On the fence about getting a large pregnancy pillow unless anyone here raves about how much better sleep is with it. Sorry you're already hurting.
And lucky you getting massages!

@pregnantbee: since this is my first, I can't give much comparison info...however, I purchased a snoogle yesterday and slept with it last night. I'm really not sure if it's worth it... The pillow is gigantic, and really not made to move with you as you move in your sleep at night. I woke up twice totally tangled up in it! I am predisposed to lower back issues from a sports injury early in life, and I kept waking myself up on my back the last few days so that's why I decided to try it. In my limited opinion, I feel like I would be much better off with a regular old body pillow.
cantaloupe / 6206 posts
@MrsKerch: I loved the snoogle with my first!! I felt it was more essential around 6 months on, though. I haven't needed it yet this time.
cantaloupe / 6059 posts
@pregnantbee: I should say the free massages were just with my first. I switched midwives after my failed home birth (due to a stuck 9lb 3oz who decided not to make it easy on ANY of us) so that I could be at the hospital and not have to transport should anything like that ever happen again. BUT, I DO get a massage soon - I entered a contest for a local pregnancy massage therapist and was one of two winners! Just found out last week and need to call today to schedule -- hooray!
I've never used a pregnancy pillow - just have done what you are with the pillow between the legs as needed. We only have a queen sized bed and my husband and I are both fairly tall people and I imagine he would have to sleep in the guest room if I got a pregnancy pillow. And that's so not happening.

@coopsmama: I agree. It's like the more pregnancies you have the way earlier the aches and pains start. I had the worst joint pains with my second and luckily they haven't started yet but I'll bet it'll be soon.
@AprilFool: Hi! I'm a July mama too! Welcome! Our board is so dead. How are you feeling? Are you team Green or team find out the sex?
We moved DS2 into DS1's room months ago because they wanted to be Together. Well we had a few transitions like Ds2 to a twin bed on the floor from his crib and the biggest one was we got them bunk beds. They are still a little young but luckily it's been working pretty well. We had to add a door to the stairs so DS2 doesn't go up to the top. He still doesn't understand how to get down without falling off the top bunk. Anyone else do any changes for their older children?
Our nursery just needs to be painted. We got a giant rug for the floor and all the furniture is already up. I need to get into nesting mode and go through all the newborn stuff. How's everyone else doing on nursery?
wonderful clementine / 24134 posts
@coopsmama: Yes! I thought #2 was rough but #3 I'm feeling it too. Luckily no major BH yet but I'm sure thats to start.
wonderful clementine / 24134 posts
@MrsKerch: I just got the Boppy pillow too and kinda feel the same way. A large pillow would probably do the trick.
pomegranate / 3331 posts
@Aandmklover: our nursery is all set! just have to kick my daughter out of it we're not making any changes to it, except buying a rug (which we should've done when we first moved in).
@coopsmama: my OB said the following to me last week: with your first, it's like carrying around a bowling ball in a bowling bag made for that bowling ball. the ball is well protected and everything is nice and sturdy in there. with subsequent pregnancies, everything stretches faster so the muscles have nothing to hold together, so they relax earlier, leading to all sorts of pains you didn't experience the first time because the muscles were engaged. so essentially, that bowling ball is in a plastic bag this time!
apricot / 256 posts
@JoJoGirl: Great input, thanks. I'll have to wait it out and see! I think my DH would kill me though...he's been out of town this past weekend so that's why I tried it! I think it's going to be too big for our queen size bed...
apricot / 256 posts
@Pirouette: that bowling ball and bag analogy makes a lot of sense actually! I definitely LOL'd though!
cantaloupe / 6206 posts
@MrsKerch: yes we were in a queen at the time, too I just made sure the edge of the snoogle was aligned RIGHT with the edge of the bed so it took up minimal space. But DH was not happy.
pear / 1718 posts
@Pirouette: We went with Piggy Bank (a light pink . . . but not so light that it looks too baby) for LO and Journey's End (blue grey) for the baby: ETA: sorry the colors are so huge! And the pink is a little lighter and the blue is a little more grey irl!
pomelo / 5257 posts
@MrsKerch: lol I can only imagine what my DH would think if I tried to bring a giant pillow into our queen bed -- our three cats already take up most of the room!
@Aandmklover: we don't really have space in our current apartment for a full nursery, but I've started thinking about what sleeping arrangement I want in our bedroom. Considering splurging on the Halo bassinet since we won't be buying a bunch of furniture/a crib right away, but it is pricey!
pear / 1718 posts
@Aandmklover: We have LO in the bonus room upstairs, but we are in the process of transitioning her to one of the two bedrooms that share the jack and jill bathroom; we are going to put the baby in the other bedroom, and then convert the bonus room to their playroom. We have all of the furniture for LO's big girl room, and just need a crib for the baby. Other than that, we are pretty much set. We just need to get started on moving things around and getting everything set up!
pomegranate / 3331 posts
@MrsKerch: I know! it made a lot of sense, and was simultaneously hilarious and depressing!
@pwnstar: I love the colors!
kiwi / 506 posts
@MrsSCB: I have no idea why we even get the nursery done before they get here. They don't sleep in it for months. Since we have a 2 story home we do use it for diaper changes and the rocking chair but that's about it.
@pwnstar: love that grey; what brand is it? I tried a grey with my second and it had a purple undertone but it totally looks purple. I'm terrible at picking greys. The same thing happened in my 1/2 bath.
@JoJoGirl: that made me giggle out loud.
@MrsKerch: @T.H.O.U.: I'm not big on pillows that are too fluffy so I got the wedge thing. I haven't had to use it yet but I hope I like it when the time comes. Luckily if I don't like it it was only $15
grapefruit / 4717 posts
@Pirouette: What an image! Totally makes sense.
@MrsKerch: @JoJoGirl: @T.H.O.U.: Thanks for the pillow input. I also don't want something that's a pain to rearrange during the 10 times I wake up overnight or that will take up the whole bed. We have a King, but I still think it will be in the way. Last time, I bought a Boppy wedge pillow just for under the belly, but I hated it. I think I ended up using just a normal pillow. I remember that being the worst: as the baby got bigger and belly got heavier, I really felt like I did need support when on my side.
@coopsmama: Boo. Sorry they're not included this time. But yay for winning some! That's awesome! I still have a gift card to use at a spa, but I think I'll wait until I'm a bit further along and am achier than I already am.
pomelo / 5257 posts
@Aandmklover: Yeah, we do have a loft, but the idea of marching up and down the stairs in the middle of the night makes me tired! I'm a little sad about not getting to decorate a full nursery, but I can always do it once we move to a bigger place I suppose.
grapefruit / 4717 posts
@pwnstar: Pretty colors. It's so hard to tell what it will really look like on the wall based on a digital or even physical swatch. We picked a grey for our bedroom, but it leans more toward purple. I've wanted to repaint forever.
We also want to repaint most of the interior before baby arrives b/c the previous owners chose a matte finish, and it's getting really grubby even 3.5 years after we moved in. Looking for a grey or tan or something.
pear / 1718 posts
@pregnantbee: We bought a set of papers that you paint and then put those up on the wall so that you can tell what the color looks like without actually painting the wall (and will also tell you whether you need a primer, and which shade, to get the color to match the manufacturer's color). I am hoping this eliminates the need to repaint! (the test papers just peel off the wall when you're finished.)*fx* The bonus with this method is that you don't have to worry about sanding/priming any test areas prior to painting (which can be tricky to completely camouflage, even if you feather the border(s) of the test area(s)).

@Pirouette: @pwnstar: Thanks girls!!
@AprilFool: Welcome to our due date board!!
@coopsmama: I am absolutely having hip pain. Mostly at night and mostly in my right hip. Such a bummer but relieved to hear I'm not the only one.
@Aandmklover: I need to get into nesting mode also! Cleaning out the closet in baby girl's room is going to be a tough job!! Yikes! But I did just order my glider and feel like that got the ball rolling.
@pwnstar: Please remind me - is your new baby a girl or a boy? That's just about the same blue that I have my soon-to-be nursery painted and I want to leave it that color even though my baby turned out to be a girl!
@MrsSCB: If you aren't buying a crib or any of that kind of stuff, then I think you should splurge for the Halo! Are you having a shower? Add it to your registry! I would love the Halo but I have so many other "biggie" items to put on my registry that I don't want to add it. But it looks amazing.
