@pwnstar: hahaha people are so weird! and I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one having problems swallowing pills - i feel like a child! I make sure never to take any pills around my husband so he can't make fun of me for it haha.
@MrsSCB: haha! I thought about asking if he's cold in the wintertime because he's bald it's not even that hot here in the summer! maybe one bad week.
@Silva: omg I am SO jealous your husband can feel movement! My husband keeps putting his hand on my stomach for extended periods and then saying "I guess I'm not going to feel anything with the placenta in the way, huh? Think it'll move out of the way?!" I feel bad, like it's harder for him to bond with the baby without feeling any movement. My first was SOOOO active and later on in the pregnancy, would always respond to his voice!
@dcw6411: your husband's names...so much awesomeness there!

@agold: I like your name choices so far! Amelia Grace is so so pretty. I also really like Avery.

@T.H.O.U.: Harper Lynn could work! Thanks for that suggestion.
@Pirouette: Thank you! Those are my favorites right now, also! Well, favorites after husband vetoed my other favorites.

@JoJoGirl: I had this too! My cousin was due the week of my wedding and I was so mad/upset she couldn't come! Just bring your newborn, duh! Oh if I could go back and explain how these things work to my younger self

@pwnstar: I notice if other ladies wear heels all the time! Its not because I am trying to be judgy its more like I am super impressed! I think heels are way cuter than flats but I cant turn down the comfort of a flat and I admire the ladies that can!
apricot / 442 posts
@agold: This is why I still haven't told my boss! The person before me had one kid, then waited like 5 yrs to have another. Ours will be 2.5 yrs apart, so I feel like this comment is coming my way one way or another soon. The worst!

@T.H.O.U.: Counting the days to our A/S, its on 3/14, so 11 days! We are hoping to find out gender, and I will share with everyone as soon as we find out!!

- How much movement are you feeling?
Usually something everyday. I feel movement above my belly button, so I am sure its either gas or the baby kicking so hard it makes my organs move since I believe the baby is still supposed to be at or below our belly buttons?
- Name picked out or favorite name?
Molly or James. Molly is my absolute favorite and James is his family name, so we are going in to our anatomy scan with one name picked out each, and one of us will win.
- Top craving and top aversion
Lots of Chinese and Mexican food. Like lots of it, must have one of the two every single day.
- Weirdest pregnancy comment
None because I still haven't told most people! Although I am sure when I finally tell people I will get a bunch of comments on why I held out so long!
- Next appointment/ultrasound/milestone
March 14 is anatomy scan day!! Super excited!

@MrsBeluga: I feel exactly the same way about heels, having nothing to do with pregnancy!
grapefruit / 4045 posts
@pregnantbee: Thanks. I'm looking for names that flow nicely, can be classy sounding, and won't be easily shortened into a nickname. Its tough!
@MrsBeluga: I think work comments can be the worst. My secretary said "did you think that getting knocked up would make your work any easier?" Ha! I just try to laugh it all off. They cant fire me so whatevs. When do you plan to tell your work?
ETA: My husband gets so upset when I wear heels! I wear them work but bring flats to wear when no one important is around. Weekends are flats forever.

@MrsSCB: right?!? To her credit, it only came out like that because we didn't tell anyone we were trying so she thought it just happened We're just private people and it took us almost 8 months to conceive, we didn't want to tell people we were trying!

@pwnstar: Mmmmmmm, I've been having a lot of fruit with Greek yogurt and granola! So good!
pomelo / 5257 posts
@mrschickpea: same here, people would ask when we were going to have kids but I'd always vaguely say, "ohhh, I don't know..." because I didn't want people bugging us if it took awhile. So I guess it does seem like a surprise to them!
grapefruit / 4717 posts
@MrsSCB: @mrschickpea: I still get surprised when people I didn't know were trying announce they're having a baby With many people, I kinda have an idea that they want kids sooner rather than later or whatever, so it's not as much of a surprise? I'd imagine there would be tons of pressure if we were to go around telling people we were TTC and then it takes awhile.
grapefruit / 4045 posts
@MrsSCB: That was my response for the 2+ years I was TTC. Pressure was really on when I started IVF and such. Ugh.
pomelo / 5257 posts
@pregnantbee: @agold: yeah, I didn't want any added pressure from other people knowing what we were doing. My SIL was actually annoyed when we revealed the pregnancy that we didn't tell her we were trying. I kind of wanted to be like, "well that's not really anyone else's business"... 🙄
grapefruit / 4045 posts
@MrsSCB: That's a bummer she was annoyed. People really don't know common courtesies regarding other people's pregnancies.
New names being considered - Ainsley and Saoirse
Both pretty ethnic but I like them. Husband likes one of them and I'm on a campaign to convince him of the other.
grapefruit / 4717 posts
@agold: Interesting. How do you pronounce the one that begins with S?
grapefruit / 4045 posts
@pregnantbee: Sear-Sha or Sur-Sha
There is a current actress with the name, Saoirse Ronan. She's a pretty Irish girl.
ETA: Husband thinks its too "try hard". But trying to hard to be what? I don't think its "try hard". It certainly won't be a name anyone can pronounce but I don't necessarily have a problem with that.
grapefruit / 4717 posts
@agold: It's pretty, but honestly I tend to worry about the ability to pronounce it. She'll have to deal with that her whole life.
grapefruit / 4045 posts
@pregnantbee: Yep, I know that's people's gripe about the name. I'm often having to correct people on my own name so maybe i'm just immune to the difficulty. I still love Saoirse and I'm going to make a strong campaign for it this weekend!
pomelo / 5257 posts
@agold: I love the name Saoirse! But then I also have an Irish name that gets misspelled most of the time and mispronounced fairly often, so I feel like a kindred spirit
grapefruit / 4045 posts
@MrsSCB: I'm so glad you like it and understand it! My husband's name is Irish and every so often someone totally butchers it. Please share your name if you want because I'd love to know what it is! But I understand if you don't - I won't share my name!
pomelo / 5257 posts
@agold: I'll give you a hint that should make it easy to find it's the name of the former NY Mets stadium, and it's spelled the same way, too.
grapefruit / 4045 posts
@MrsSCB: Ahhh... thanks for the hint. That is a beautiful name. I can absolutely imagine the different pronunciations you get. At least no baseball fans would mispronounce it!
pomegranate / 3331 posts
@MrsSCB: Full disclosure: I am a mets fan, but I think that's an awesome name! I know a few people with that name and have always liked it, and not at all because of my fandom
pomelo / 5257 posts
@agold: @Pirouette: When I lived in the NYC area people were sooooo much better at spelling and pronouncing it, haha!
grapefruit / 4045 posts
@Silva: I do like that one, too! But I knew a girl growing up with that name spelled american phonetically and I so I associate the name with her. Don't want to use it.
pear / 1718 posts
@MrsBeluga: That's good to know. I actually had two more people make the same comment today! I have never thought anything of it really (I have high arches and most heels feel better than most flats) . . . but I am learning that people do notice!
pear / 1718 posts
@Pirouette: Good luck at your appointment today! I leave in a few minutes for my appointment (just a doppler though--I think!), but I am anxious to hear the HB . . . it's been 4 weeks!
grapefruit / 4717 posts
OMG! I just found out in the last 2 hrs that not 1, but 2 local friends are pregnant! One is due a week before me. The other is due in Oct if the baby sticks. I'm so freaking excited as the only people I currently know are pregnant are you all, a coworker due next month, and a good long distance friend. Makes a huge difference to actually have local pregnant friends. I've been nervous about maternity leave bc I needed friends so much last time. Phew!
Also, last night marks the first painful Charley horse of this pregnancy. Ugh. My whole left calf seized up for a minute in the middle of the night. I had this problem last time, but hoped I could escape it this time. Nope. Oh, well.
Happy Friday! How is everyone today? Any good weekend plans besides @MrsSCB: ultrasound??
@Pirouette: Good luck at your appointment!
@pwnstar: Good luck at your appointment, too.
