@Pirouette: With my first I felt like I had to prove myself too. I started as a contractor the March before, then was converted to a full time employee in November, just days before I had DS. I felt like I had to have a shorter leave and kind of killed myself when I came back. Luckily I expect to get promoted in June and then I'll coast through to August and maternity leave .

@MrsSCB: Good luck today -- you'll do great! Excellent idea to turn it into a discussion and take care of that now. It's so hard NOT to be emotional, especially while pregnant. I've been crying over everything lately. You've got this! (Also glad to hear you had a good appointment this morning!)
Ladies, I had my anatomy scan this morning! As always, I was nervous going in....but phew, she is perfect. Strong heartbeat, everything has developed correctly and is in the right place. And she is still a . I can't believe this means I'm almost half-way there. Here's hoping you all get similar results at your upcoming scans and appointments. Here's a profile pic just for fun.

Well as I'll never be able to catch up, I'll just introduce myself!
Due with number 2 on July 28. I was induced at 41 weeks last time so I am sure this will be an August baby!
I live in the suburb north of NYC with husband and daughter who is turning 2 on Saturday.
Just had a great anatomy scan and found out this baby is boy! We are thrilled!
Will start following along now!

So last night was interesting....... I was crying about something but I have a cold so pretty quickly my nose blocked, then I started coughing and then I threw up. So gross

@pregnantbee: What a wonderful profile picture of your baby girl!!
@teawithpaloma: Welcome! Paloma is one of my favorite names!! I would really want to use it if my husband's last name wasn't so majorly Irish. We are mostly Italian, though, and I thought Paloma would still work. I love it!

@agold: My maiden name was German and I married into an Italian name. And I love my name! So, I am all about going for it!

My name is Paloma (!) and I am 1/2 German and 1/2 Irish, of course, I am American but those are my ethnic breakdowns. My mom loved the name!

Also I would just love to vent, I am so exhausted all the time, and feel like what I am accomplishing these days at work and home is decreasing by the week, which doesnt feel great to an over achiever like me. I go to bed at 9/10, sleep in until around 7, and even with 9-10 HOURS of sleep I am still pooped and ready for a nap or giant coffee around 2PM :(.

@MrsBeluga: I feel you. I have the same complaint. Aside from an achy hip and random shooting pains left over from PIO shots, exhaustion is still the only thing that hits me hard! I'm asleep by 10, after taking an hour or so nap around 6 pm. I sleep until 8 am. I usually lay down after I take my morning shower. Luckily my husband enjoys picking up his own food while he's out. But gees. I try to snap out of it but its hard!

@pregnantbee: July 25th and I have a daughter.
@MrsBeluga: So exhausted I can barely keep up with anything. My house is a disaster, I think I need to find the money for a cleaning lady cause I just can't do it.
@ShootingStar: Looking good!

Does anyone else have any dark lines appearing on their face? I know this is a pregnancy hormone thing, but I don't like it. I have dark lines on my top lip that appear to be poorly applied lip liner.
grapefruit / 4717 posts
@agold: Thank you! And nope, no dark lines here. Can def happen in pregnancy, though.
@ShootingStar: You look beautiful. Adorable bump.
@Pirouette: Thank you. I'm so relieved.
@MrsBeluga: Awww, you are growing a human. That comes with being tired. Just do the best you can.
@CoffeeMom: Thank you! I loved seeing her little face.
@AprilFool: Thanks for the info. We'll need to add all the July mamas to the Aug. list. For what it's worth, I'm also a July mama, technically due 7/30. Just figured I'd go a couple days late
nectarine / 2591 posts
@pregnantbee: My daughter was 9 days late so am expecting this one to be late as well. Just hopefully not 9 days!
grapefruit / 4717 posts
@AprilFool: Haha, oh, I hope not! My son was only 2 days late, but I technically went into labor the day after my EDD. I don't mind if baby girl does the same

@agold: @pregnantbee: @MrsBeluga: Thank you!
I really appreciate the support. We finally got to meet right at the end of the day, and I feel really good about our discussion. I was starting to feel super discouraged in the past week or so, but I really liked what she had to say about her vision for our department. She was also excited for me about the baby (although really I'm sure she's thinking this is great timing given everything else that's going on). I assured her that I will be coming back and that my job is very important to me, so hopefully that's all good. Whew.

My first was 17 days late! They wouldn't induce me until I was officially 2 weeks late, and then my induction took 60 hours!
NEVER AGAIN!

@thismustbetheplace: @teawithpaloma: welcome!!

We had our anatomy scan today and it went wonderfully! I still have a hemorrhage but it hasn't increased in size at all so I am thankful. They will do another scan at 28 weeks to make sure it hasn't gotten any bigger. Although they already told us it was a boy at 13 weeks they confirmed it and there was definitely no doubt. He was loud and proud. I have a good picture but it so out there it's almost inappropriate. Here is one of our 3D photos. I swear he looks like my son already!

@dcw6411: Hi! I was just thinking about you. Sorry you still have the bleeding. I do too. But oh my gosh. Your baby's face is so adorable!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I can't hardly stand it! How exciting. I'm so glad the ultrasound showed great results. And so funny about about your boy being loud and proud. I bet your husband was proud!

pomelo / 5257 posts
@dcw6411: so cute! I love the 3D images. Sorry the hemorrhage is still there, but I'm glad it hasn't gotten bigger. I hope it doesn't give you any more trouble.

@agold: Thanks, Umberto was my favourite pet goldfish! (not his pic though) I'm from Aus, and baby was very uncooperative in recent scans, the tech guessed girl but couldn't say with certainty. I'm dying to know for sure!
What about you?
grapefruit / 4045 posts
@Umberto: Aus like Australia? Lucky! I'm in California. I'm having a girl!
