I was leaning more towards valentine's day too. But I'm thinking about taking a FB break for the month of February. So I might just wait till March!
Altho I will be home this week. We will be visiting family for Chinese new Year so I'm sure my mom is going to blab!

@BakerBee: @T.H.O.U.: @locavore_mama: I am also using Valentine's day as the day I will feel okay to tell people. My nt scan is the 13th so as long as that goes well I will feel okay to start letting people know. I will still hold off posting on FB for awhile longer though.

We're already 13 weeks and are planning on coming out to work after my next doctors appointment tomorrow. Though apparently, the rumor mill is already running according to my one coworker/friend who already knows. I guess I haven't disguised the bump as well as I thought My husband and I work in the same group so it'll be interesting...
We're thinking of a Valentine's day FB announcement - we'll be one day shy of 16 weeks.

@T.H.O.U.: I know! I show to my husband and me, but that's about it. I more look like I've been raiding the doughnuts and less pregnant. My pants pretty much leave an imprint on my stomach, though. Personally I think my boobs are a dead giveaway (I was a C before and now my cup runneth over).
Are you?
I googled "valentine's day pregnancy card annoucement" and found some cute ideas. My husband shot all of them down, but I thought the little poem, "Roses are red, violets are blue, come August 2014, a baby is due!" was cute.

@BakerBee: I was going to have a custom shirt made for LO that said "all you need is sibling love"! Lol ala the Beatles
But I can't find anyone local.

We're going to start telling more people after the NT scan next week. Just family and close friends, though if they spread it its fine with me (as long as its not on FB!) I've told 2 of my best friends so far, and plan to tell another one on Wednesday.

So many Valentines day dates! I will be 13+1 that day but I honestly am so confused about when the second trimester starts and i'm kind of OCD about this right now so i'm only waiting till 14 weeks to play it "safe" which i honestly don't even know what that means at this point. I'm just praying everything goes well at the NT scan.

DH and I got the call this morning that his cystic fibrosis test was negative! It's a huge huge relief.
I actually got to see the LO last week because the receptionist accidentally booked my NT screening 2 weeks too soon and it didn't really click with me that she might have messed up. The u/s tech was nice enough though to show us the baby and do some dating measurements. We got to see the baby kicking which was really cool. The real NT scan is now next week, but I think I feel pretty comfortable tell work and close friends now since the scary cf test is back and we got to see the nugget is growing right on schedule!

I kept going back and forth about when to tell people...did some facebook stalking and my friends all announced at 12 weeks or earlier. We decided to send an email out to close friends (people who we invited to our wedding). We did a video slideshow and people loved it! It feels awesome to be more open about it now.
We changed our settings so our FB friends can't see what other people post on our walls/timelines. I am not sure when (if ever) we will announce on FB!

i wasn't planning on announcing on fb but all this valentine announcement talk makes me want to!! they have a lot of cute ideas on google!
@MrsT927: thats great about the test results!!
its so crazy we're almost to the 2nd trimester! it seems to be going fast but slow at the same time... haha
just curious, is this anyones last pregnancy? we are both open to having 3 (this is our 2nd) but it'd have to be under the right circumstances. we can't have 3 in daycare, thats crazy talk. and it will kind of depend on gender bc dh does not want 3 girls hah. i feel like 2 would be easier, but growing up in a family w 3 kids i loved it. so its kind of sad to think this could be the last pregnancy/baby!
GOLD / wonderful pomegranate / 28905 posts
@kodybear: no clue yet! I thought for sure we will be done if this is a boy. But DH surprised me that he might want a third even if a boy. So we shall see. In an ideal world I want four so I'm completely open to 3 and we will still be comfortable at 3.

@kodybear: We are just going to send cards to our special people (or those that need to "hear" from us, but I have no desire to call. Feeds my need to do something cute, but acknowledges my hatred for Facebook.

Whoa.I'd been feeling pretty good and had little morning sickness.. But the very day I hit 9 weeks, the nausea and gagging hit me full on! I'm gag-coughing nonstop at work and I'm pretty sure my boss knows something's up, esp with my constant Dr appt too! Ugh... I was up til almost 2am last night bc I couldn't sleep and couldn't shake the nausea.
At least I have my NT scan to look fwd to, which is scheduled for 2/14 and my next OB appt on 2/26 when I'll be almost 14 weeks.

@msmug: I'm right there with you!! I woke up at 2am and didn't get back to sleep until 5am because I couldn't get passed my nausea. Hopefully we're both feeling better soon and able to get a full nights rest!

@MrsT927: so happy to hear!!!
@locavore_mama: yay!!!
I turned 30 today! In my stupid head, i was so nervous to turn 30 and still not be pregnant, and today i am very thankful for this little miracle.
anyone still using or have started using their doppler? I took it out again yesterday after taking a break for a couple of days and i was able to find it much quicker and it sounded louder! i hope that means the baby is growing!!

@pui: thank you!! hope you feel better soon, the worst of my MS lasted about 2 weeks but it seems to have subsided so i hope it doesn't last too long for you!

I toured 2 day cares this morning and both of them told me getting a slot by the last week of November is a long shot. Obviously that is a long ways a way so it is hard to predict, but I would think going on a list at 8w pregnant and taking a 12w maternity leave would put me in good shape. There are very few day cares in my area so there aren't that many options. I really liked one so I'm really hoping we will get in there. That or DH will get a huge promotion so I can SAH. Anyone else having day care woes?

I had a doctors appointment this morning. It went really well. We got to hear the heartbeat, no ultrasound though. We won't get another till 20 weeks :(. We're going to start slowly announcing to people and letting the word spread, but wont do a FB announcement for a while yet. It feels good to be out

Had my doctor's appointment today! Just a routine checkup. They checked my blood pressure, weight, ect.
The doctor had a Doppler but he didn't even try using it because he said we wouldn't be able to hear the heartbeat this early (I'm 10 weeks 4 days). He says it was because the Doppler he has is old and isn't as good. I'm pretty disappointed!
I have an ultrasound scheduled for February 13. That will be my 12 week ultrasound. I also have another check up appointment February 28.
BTW my EDD is actually August 23rd it turns out. At my first ultrasound I measured 7 weeks and 1 day. I still can't believe how crazy it is that I likely O'd either on CD14 or right near it. After months and months of long and irregular cycles.

How's everybody's bumps?
Mine feels like its no longer concealable. It doesn't look like a baby yet, but it looks suspicious. We've also discovered that its lopsided! I'm bigger on the left side of my belly than the right...our guess is thats where baby is camping out

@mrs. 64: when we were researching daycares for M we put her in our second choice due to the bad location of #1 choice. #1 is very close to my work but really out of the way for DH. I don't currently drive but the plan is for me to get my license before #2 arrives. So I am struggling with whether we should pull LO from her daycare and switch.
@JennyPenny: yay for a good appt! I think towards the end of the day I feel like it looks suspicious.

@kodybear: this is most likely my last pregnancy. DH is pretty set on only having 2 kids. But if this one is a boy I may have to convince him to have one more. He doesn't want to deal with me pregnant for a third time tho and I'm not sure I'll want to do it again and go through the newborn/baby stage again.
@chibee: happy belated birthday!
@mrs. 64: that's nuts! Getting on a wait list at 8 weeks pregnant still isn't enough time?! What do people wait list before they're even pregnant?
@JennyPenny: I have a little bump (probably mostly bloat) and it's getting hard to conceal it. I feel like I just look fat tho and not pregnant.
pomelo / 5228 posts
@JennyPenny: No bump yet, but I started with a bit of a belly.
I'm on a quest to find some maternity jeans, since my pants are getting tight. I went to Old Navy and Target today, but both had a bad selection. I did decide that I prefer the demi panels right now, since the full panel makes me feel like all my fat is hanging out. For some reason, Old Navy seems to be the only place selling demi panels. They only have them in regular length though, and they're too long for me Any ideas?

@MrsT927: That's fantastic news! I'm so happy for you!
@mrs. 64: Ugh, that is crazy! I haven't even started thinking about childcare yet!! Many of our friends have/had nannies while their kids are under 2yo, and I'm thinking when I go back to work I'm hoping to do a nanny share at least until LO is closer to 1yo. There is a great daycare near my office, and I know one of my coworkers got on the waiting list there while she was in early 2nd tri and is still concerned about getting "in" before her mat leave is over. Even thinking about childcare is so stressful!
@JennyPenny: I had terrible morning sickness from weeks 5-10 and in week 11 now it is only better because I'm on Diclegis, so I had no bump at all (just bloat) until just yesterday, when I think I noticed that even when I flatten my tummy there is a little hint of a bump. When I started Diclegis at the end of week 10 I was finally able to eat and drink and boy did I make up for lost time! I had lost about 1.5 pounds from my (already very low) pre-pregnancy weight, and in the space of five days I've gained back 2 pounds! Granted, some of that has to be water weight, since I'm actually drinking now (I was super dehydrated). But I also notice a little bump starting, and my pants all feel tight now for sure, by the end of the day I have to undo to the top button in the car on my way home from work. I'm 11.5 weeks so I imagine I'll need a demi panel/bella band soon! I just placed an order for my first maternity clothes (Gap/Old Navy)--felt awesome to take that step!
@mrskc: How are you feeling? Does the nausea seem to have let up for good now? I am 11 weeks 2 days and have been on miracle morning sickness cure Diclegis for the past 5 days but the sample my doc gave me ran out last night and I forgot to fill my prescription today! Since you have to take it at bedtime that means I'll have to skip tonight and will see if the nausea is still really bad tomorrow. Not looking forward to it after days of blissful reprieve... We'll see! I will fill the Rx at lunchtime if I feel awful and will just have to wait until tomorrow bedtime for relief again!

Today was my CVS appointment and it went well. I'm not going to lie, it did hurt! I had to stay in bed the rest of the day and the spot where the needle went in is definitely sore. We'll get results in 7-10 days, including baby's sex!
The best BEST part was getting a pretty long detailed ultrasound of LO and he/she looks so perfectly human now! (I'm 11w2d based on my EDD but the tech said LO is measuring 4 days ahead--my hubby and I are both really tall so I wonder if that might have something to do with that!) The tech got a great profile view up close of LO's face and boy was that the coolest thing I've ever seen. Little nose!! Little chin!!
We got to see both arms, both legs (they're so long and skinny!), feet and hands, and doc said everything looked great. LO was jumping around for the first minute and then calmed down--it was so crazy to see so much movement.
In any case, we're over the moon and I just keep staring at the pics.
We've been telling really close friends as we see them over the past two weeks, but once we get the CVS results we'll tell everyone as we see them and probably email long-distance good friends. I don't know whether we will ever do a FB announcement--I have many friends who have struggled with/may be struggling with IF and I'm not sure I want to be "that girl" to them after reading several posts here on HB on this topic, though at the same time it seems a shame not to share your joy just for fear that a few people might be hurt by your news...tough one.

work has been crazy busy so i haven't been able to keep up with u guys! but i'm glad everyones appts went well! i'll update the stats on the next page.
@chibee: i use my doppler once a week about. i'll probably use it this weekend (12 w) and if we can find it we'll announce to dh's family
@mrs. 64: thats crazy about the waitlist!! i think mine is only a couple months before. but ur story makes me alittle scared so i'm going to talk to the director of LO's daycare after the nt scan and secure a spot.
@JennyPenny: my bump seems obvious, i'm pretty sure one of my coworkers suspects i'm pregnant. she keeps looking at my stomach! or else she just thinks i gained weight.. i guess it doesn't help that i've been wearing maternity jeans!
@mrskc: i'm anxious to find out the gender of this one just cuz it'll determine alot for the future! it will kind of feel good to be done with pregnancy and newborn stuff etc, but still alittle sad
@Mrs.Someone: have you looked at old navy online? i think they carry differnet lengths and the demi panel. i actually haven't tried demi panel b4. went straight to full panel. i got most of my maternity clothes from old navy, gap, and target.
@stratosphere: yay for a great appt!!

@kodybear: @locavore_mama: Thanks ladies. I was able to find what I want online, but I'm going to try shopping again today before I buy anything. I was hoping for instant gratification

We had our 12week appointment yesterday. It took the nurse forever to find the baby's heartbeat. But once she did it was a quick 164. we are getting our NT scan Tuesday Feb 4th and my 16 week appointment is Monday Feb 24.
Has anyone decided if they want to be team green? DH is adamant that we don't find out this time. He wants to experience the "It's a ...." In the delivery room. The planner in me may go crazy but I'm excited to give him an experience that (hopefully ) no one else will be able to give him.

@JennyPenny: nothing yet at 11 weeks here! i can't wait to have one!!!!!
@mrskc: thank you!
@Aandmklover: i so wanted to be team green but DH wants none of it, he's been asking me when we can find out since i was 4 weeks lol! I think that's so exciting!
i am 11 weeks today!!! I feel so close to feeling so much more secure about this pregnancy! How is everyone doing?

@stratosphere: I am starting to feel better! It's such a relief. A little nausea here and there and I'm still throwing up a little bit, but it's a huge difference from feeling sick 24/7. I'm 11w5d today. I hope you won't need the meds anymore and you start feeling better! And great news about the CVS! I hope results come back all normal.
@Aandmklover: glad you had a good appt! Nope, DH and I both could not be team green! We are too excited to wait.
@chibee: I'm feeling so much better compared to just a week ago. Thank goodness! A little nauseous here and there but at least it's not 24/7 like before. We are getting so close to being out of the 1st tri! It's exciting.

@chibee: I'm feeling pretty good... but I wish I could just STOP WORRYING AH. I am the biggest worrier ever! When I am not worried about miscarriage, I am worried about missed miscarriage and when I am not worried about that I'm worried about down's syndrome (I read somewhere that high HCG could indicate Down's and now I'm all stupidly paranoid).
I really need to calm the heck down.

I'm SO excited to be hitting 12 weeks tomorrow. Tonight is my last night on progesterone, yay As for this weekend, my city is in the Superbowl, and we'll be at a friend's house for the party. Should be fun!
