Gahhhh!! Just got a notice from daycare that we can't leave our infant car seats there anymore!
pomelo / 5298 posts
@Adira: That's how our daycare for C was (we changed daycares when she was 1yo) and the reason we bough two bases and seats. We needed the flexibility of her being in either car as my work schedule was pretty unpredictable at the time for pick-up.
I love the convenience of being able to leave our seat now.

@Adira: That's so annoying! What's the rationale behind not being able to leave them? Just taking up too much space?
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
@Adira: poor baby! Hope this is the last!!
@FaithFertility: sucks about the house! Hope your mom is biting her tongue
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
@AngelicOne: that's awesome! When I EP for my first I would pump 40 a day too and he only drank 24 so it was great!

@FaithFertility: Ugh - sorry that the house is causing you more headaches. I hope G's naps go better and that things go ok with your Mom!
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
@snowjewelz: sorry it's so chaotic for her there! I have to say that daycare was pretty chaotic for my first until a year when he could survive on one nap. Before then his naps were mostly bad there! Hope you find a good nanny!
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@MrsF: Yeah, they say they don't have room for them. The annoying thing is that when Xander was an infant, there wasn't an issue at all. I wonder if maybe they have more infants this time around though? They redid the infant rooms before Logan started and I don't know if that's why they no longer have the space or what. Maybe they had to get more cribs to accommodate more children and that's why there isn't space for the car seats. But it sucks because my husband does drop off and I do pick-up, so this means we'll have to get a second car seat... or go to convertible car seats already...
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@Adira: ugh that's annoying! Maybe just get a convertible at this point!

Ahhh horrible night last night. I'm a hot mess! She keeps trying to grab onto her blankie and pull and not sleeping! Merlin is not containing her. And it only works sometimes that I physically hold down her arms, sometimes she will fall asleep, other times she gets mad!
I am so close to just starting sleep training on my own (DH wants to wait) since I'm not sleeping either way! Between this and my pumping/supply issues AND finding a nanny I'm really beat
Sry to be such a debbie downer lately!
pomelo / 5298 posts
@Adira: our daycare puts seats under the cribs. It's so smart. Can you see what the reason is and if it's space help them find a solution?
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
@snowjewelz: can she roll yet? If so will she belly sleep better?
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@MamaG: That would be awesome! The cribs at my daycare are too low to the ground for that to work though. Bummer. I'm going to talk to them tonight because I really don't want to have to switch to a convertible already...
@snowjewelz: Ugh, I'm sorry!! I've been resorting to nursing Logan to sleep just to get him down for the night lately.

Ryan just rolled from back to belly I guess he's skipping the belly to back!

@snowjewelz: sorry you've had so many challenges and so little sleep this week. It's so hard!
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@winniebee: she was a belly sleeper but then in recent weeks she stopped liking it (she'd just wake up and lift her head up like she's doing tummy time lol) Maybe I should try again...
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@Adira: Well, the poor dude is sick so I'm sure he appreciates the snuggles and comfort tho! Sad thing for me is K prefers the bottle so I can barely get her nurse if it's not MOTN!
@MrsF: I feel slightly better now that I showered & washed my hair haha. I went to work the other day without even washing my face or putting on any make up
eggplant / 11861 posts
@snowjewelz: Yeah that is us, we have ditched all wraps........she needs her freedom
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@FaithFertility: I know, I'm so close to just ditching everything and put her in the crib and let her figure it out herself lol! B/c now she doesn't always nurse to sleep, and even holding/rocking she gets mad sometimes so I really have nothing to loose by sleep training!
honeydew / 7283 posts
@snowjewelz: that's where we are. I couldn't soothe J any more. Rocking, etc makes him mad and I'm not willing to nurse to sleep over and over again all night and have him dependent on that so we've been doing some sleep training this week. DH is in charge. I haven't really been talking about it because it breaks my heart but I know it's what he needs
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@MrsF: I know how you feel. What night are you on? Is it getting better! I'm here for support! I like how someone put it before... That you're really giving them the gift of self soothing, and this is just the learning pain. I def think that if they can learn to self sooth and actually get enough sleep and be more well rested, that it is worth some tears. But of course, I'm dying but also terrified to start sleep training. I just don't know what kinda baby she will be - cry for 20 min? Or cry for 2 hrs?
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@Adira: Eh I'm over it. As long as she'll nurse MOTN... I'm pretty much an EPer now but it's the lesser of my many problems now lol!
pomelo / 5298 posts
I think about this every time I change a diaper. For all of you anxious for rolling, wait for it. Diaper changes are a battle these days. She just wants to roll.
We've long ditched the swaddle. We need to ditch the RnP next and really work on an earlier bedtime. I've been resistant because I remember this with C - it sucked. From 7-10 every night felt like a constant shuffle up and down the stairs. So for now we keep K downstairs with us (sleeping or not) until 10 when we go upstairs.
I think I'm the only formula feeder, but I'm ready to make a change there (again) too. Her poo hasn't been "right" on this formula and I'm over it. Spit up hasn't greatly improved either.
Our current skill we are working on is sitting up! Oh boy!
pomegranate / 3973 posts
@snowjewelz: Im with you, our sleep has been awful lately, and it was never good to begin with. It's been harder to get him down, so instead of a 8:30/9 bed-time its more like 10 or even 10:30. And then he's up soooo many times at night, either to nurse, or 'cuddle'.
I think I'm NOT helping because I will just let him nurse or fall asleep on me and I'm probably making him dependent on that, but its so hard not to since I need sleep as well!
Gah. DH wants to move him to his room/crib and I guess I'm up for trying but that will probably just mean LESS sleep for me since I have to actually get up each time he cries.
I should try CIO a little more, but in the past, 15-20 minutes has done nothing for him as far as falling asleep on his own.
@MrsF: This will be me. Its so hard, especially when I love to cuddle just as much as he does, but NOT in the MOTN.
So after having so many family members tell me to try cereal (and after the horrendous sleep) I tried 3 nights ago (he is 19 wks), first night he spit most of it out, it was probably a tbsp of oatmeal/bm mix. Night 2 was good, he was very interested and ate all if it, 1 tbsp mix. Last night not as interested but he ate some. (he has nursed just before so maybe not as hungry) Night 2 and 3 though he woke up at least once crying - 2nd time mom's did your lo's have issues when starting cereals?
After last night I'm ready to quit already since sleep has been worse, not better. DH is for it though.
