Hope everyone had a good Mother's Day! Trying to get caught up after a productive house-hunting weekend -- you ladies were chatty!
@winnibee: brutal sleep! feeling ok? i'm trying my hardest to avoid k's cold she seems intent on giving me.
@snowjewelz: maybe k just wanted some extra snuggles instead of going to bed
So the weekend was super-productive, but not necessarily much fun or any sort of relaxing. Our rental viewings were spread out just enough that we couldn't do much fun in between. We did get out for a couple nice dinners, and the girls got lots of grandparent time....success?
Traveling with 2 kids was interesting! Obviously the airport/carseat/kid dance is just a cluster and a half. We did get a suite at the hotel so that we had a separate room for kids to nap & bed and adults didn't have to sit in the dark or hang out in the bathroom . They did surprisingly well for all of us sleeping in one room though, despite K hacking away most of the night and E waking up to eat once (only once for 2 nights in a row!!). It makes me feel like we could get away with them sharing a room if we wanted/needed.
Now back to the grind = mountains of laundry, grocery shopping, and trying to get everyone's schedules back on track.

@FaithFertility: Yikes!!! Go to sleep baby!!!
@KayKay: Glad the travel was successful!! We're too scared to go anywhere with our kids, haha.

@MrsF: I asked my mom how my sister & I slept and she just said she doesn't remember a thing lol!

@snowjewelz: bahahaha why didn't I think of that!!! Teeth are our enemy...she chewed on a cold teether with me and FINALLY OUT!

I didn't really get a break at all this weekend, but it's okay I guess! I'm so exhausted actually between taking her out to brunch, and Sunday at church 9am-1pm then at SIL's 2pm till 6pm And I still handled all of her naps/feeds! But as much work as it is, I can't spend enough time with her... I am so obsessed with my baby!
She was up from 2-3:30am last night, I thought the crazy day would've knocked her out, guess not! She seriously is not sleeping b/c all she wants to do every waking moment is to sit up!!
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@KayKay: I'm so glad your trip went well! But I know it seriously take a toll on you and then coming back to reality is no fun either!
eggplant / 11861 posts
@snowjewelz: awwww these babes, I thin G just wants to hang too but the boob always knocks her back out....lol and this Rolling on belly thing is ridiculous she gets stuck against side and cries..hopefully our gals figure it out soon!!!!!
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@FaithFertility: I just want her to calm down a lil bit! When I hold her she either acrhces up trying to sit up, or her hands are everywhere trying to grab stuff. It's funny, her cousin and her are totally opposite; she is slower in reaching milestones but sleeps so well; meanwhile K is like the overachiever but won't sleep!!!

@snowjewelz: She is probably thinking man if I just practice I'll get it....lol

@KayKay: Yay for dinners and g-parent time. Did you find a place you like?
Ethan definitely loves to hear himself 'talk' now. Starting Saturday night and all day yesterday he talks/screams, it's adorable unless we're trying to watch tv, lol. This morning I was cracking up in the bathroom listening to him. I'm actually surprised he's not hoarse!

@AngelicOne: Success, but hopefully you can sleep better tonight without getting up every hour!
@FaithFertility: Excited to find out what you're doing for your late Mothers Day!
We had a great weekend, Mexican Saturday night with DH and E, brunch with the whole fam Sunday and time with both sides the rest of the day. DH got me a gorgeous necklace as a 1st Mothers Day gift.

@josina: What a wonderful weekend!!!!!
We went to a local pizza joint on the beach today it is so pretty, but it was so hot!
I love Florida but now with the babe I am so concerned for her over heating!!!
Ohhh DH printed and had 4 pictures in frames for me
I keep saying we need to frame some of G so it was very thoughtful in my book
Best present is still just being her Mommy!
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@FaithFertility: I kinda feel ya on the heat! It was sweltering in NY yesterday and while it's awesome, we're both a sweaty mess esp when I hold her we just feed heat off each other!
pomegranate / 3973 posts
@FaithFertility: Sounds like fun! I lived in Florida for a year (just south of Melbourne) so I know what the heat is like! But, still miss it.
I was just telling DH I need some framed pics of Ethan also! I've printed a bunch but only have 3 of his newborn pics framed.

Ladies back up your photos/videos on your phone!!!! I dropped mine and if it wasn't for having drop box I would have lost all my photos!

Not only have I not framed any photos, I haven't printed any either. The ones on my phone are safe though since I upload them to flickr and save them to my computer... But still I need to start printing them!

We've got printed photos, but I really need a backup system! And holy moly, I need to schedule SIX month studio shots for this weekend. We get the kiddos to the studio every three months for a quick shoot.
We are doing solids daily (gerber purees). We skipped the stage one foods and went straight to stage two. We are still sticking to single foods rather than blends. She will eat a full container in the evening and seems to want more
We need to figure out how to move wakeup time. I'm not a big fan of wakeups in the 4:00 hour. Even if she does go back to sleep.

@MamaG: what did you start with? So weird how this time around I am not that eager to start on solids!
pomegranate / 3973 posts
@MamaG: Us too for moving wake-up times. He's pretty consistent about nursing between 12 and 1 and then between 4 and 5... If I could get the first one to 1:30 and push the 2nd one to 6 we'd be golden with basically 1 wakeup since I have to get up then.
We have started solids as well... So far peas and bananas. I want to try and make my own for all... I have sweet potato next and applesauce, He only eats about a tablespoon, and so far peas went over better. (We started with oatmeal banana cereal and he loves that).

@Freckles: our first food was pears. She's also had sweet potato and green beans.

@KayKay: Glad the trip went well. Traveling with two young kiddos is no joke!
@FaithFertility: So glad you didn't lose your photos! I back mine up to Carbonite once they get to my laptop, but I'm a little behind. Thanks for the reminder!
@MamaG: I need to start thinking about solids. J is definitely interested. Sounds like your LO is loving them!
The past few nights J has only woken up once overnight but then up for the day by 5:30. It's a trade off!

We tried some cereal today She took a few good nibbles
I'm just going to let her try daily no pushing it......but she looked soooo ready....lol
Ohhhh we had a 3 a.m. gab fest was talking away for over 30minutes. .......

solids have been fun lately! like everything else, e is totally different than k, but i think she is finally getting the hang of eating. eating approximately 0.25oz per sitting, but still! haha
pomegranate / 3973 posts
@FaithFertility: Yay, I saw the pic!
@MrsF: Yay for only 1 wake-up!
Not so good night; after his 1 am and 4 am nursing he cried and cried. DH actually told me to just bring him to bed but I did finally get him to put himself to sleep in the crib at around 2 with his teddy bear. He does have a cold so maybe sore throat or teething? I gave him some Tylenol this morning. I wish they could just tell us. Cappuccino for me this morning!
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@KayKay: it's crazy how both kids come out of your womb and yet are so different.. Keeps you on your toes!
I let K hold into an avocado over the weekend, but then she was gonna shove it in her mouth and I got cold feet lol. She has been sitting up so well, so she has reached all the milestones for sure per Kellymom to start! But we'll prob just wait till 6 mo since I'm OCD!
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@josina: Haha yes I totally wish they can just tell us what's wrong! Maybe he just wanted extra cuddles since he's not feeling well!
eggplant / 11861 posts
@josina: that is sooo hard! I wish they could tell us too!!!!
@KayKay: funny how different babes are, I know it really shows just how they may be babies but have personalities all their own!!!!
@snowjewelz: awwww I got DH to break after watxhing her basiclly look like she was going to cry watching us eat pizza yesterday....lol she was kinda mahhhh about it, so I'll just let her dabble in it for a few
eggplant / 11861 posts
I feel like she is saying ohhh gosh here is mom again shoving something elese in my mouth....lol
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@FaithFertility: haha when we went to brunch she was doing great until the food came! She must have heard me say I want her to sit up first before eating and maybe that's why she's been practicing like crazy lol. AND she has been fussy and not drinking as much milk!
eggplant / 11861 posts
@snowjewelz: Awwww she is ready!!!! G is the same way but isn't a huge fan like I thought. ..
We shall see!!! She is determined to sit huh?
G is a completly different baby these days I feel like she is so smart now, if she is not ready for a nap and I walk into her bedroom and turn light off I seriously get yelleld at and face smacked it is insane!!!
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@josina: Yay!!! Good Mother's Day gift!
@FaithFertility: That's a totally sweet gift! Wish my husband would print photos for me!!
@MamaG: That's awesome about the solids!! And there's really not a huge difference between stage 1 and stage 2 foods, are there?? Stage 2 might be slightly thicker?
@snowjewelz: We're waiting until 6 months to start solids too! We did with Xander, so figure we will with Logan too. Though he's not sitting up on his own yet anyway.

Is anyone sleeping 11-12 hours per night? Second timers, do you remember when this occurred? We are sleeping well, but I'm still not fully satisfied. I'm sure she's in the right place and I just need to be patient. I know I should praise the sleep god that we are doing as well as we are. I just want to know when even better, primo baby sleep is coming my way.
