@BandDmommy: Not sure - what a fun and crazy year!

@snowjewelz: I can see how a trip to Asia would be difficult! I'm guessing DH would have to work M-F and he sets his own hours (but usually does 8-4:30 or so). If he has any free time, we won't know until they start working out the plans of what the meeting is about (designing a product for a customer). If we stay from Sun-Sun, then we could have a Sat to do stuff together. No clue on the area yet. Where the office is, it's an industrial park type place, so hopefully we could get a hotel closer to other things instead.
@BandDmommy: Can't believe how fast these babies are growing up! M's birthday is just over 2 weeks away!

Should we create a First Birthday Update thread? Talking about what our LOs are up to and like these days? R just turned 11 months yesterday, but I know we have some birth days coming up!

Hey everyone - I hope it's okay to pop in here! I'm a little late to the party but DD was born on December 11 last year! I've been following along a little over the past few months, seems great to have a thread where all of the babies are a similar age!

@AngelicOne: it could potentially be a lot of fun! i'd totally be torn too...

@winniebee: are we finally abandoning this?! i almost want to see how far we can take this thread, lol!
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@catgirl: hey hey! pop in any time you want!! we also have a thread about party planning for LOs' first birthday!!
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
@snowjewelz: haha nooo! I just meant to post stats, milestones, etc. It's fun to see them all in one place since all the birthdays are so spread out....they will be pages and pages apart ; )
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@winniebee: that is true! I vote yes! And will we still be talking about our babies on here when they're teens?! hahahaha. imagine those posts...

@catgirl: that my dd's birthday too!
And I'm up for a new thread as well.

Sorry ladies, I've been a bit absent for a few days. K is doing much better, but with her breathing. We had a re-check at the ped yesterday and he said to go ahead and prepare for a rough winter with her. She also has a double ear infection She's cutting a few teeth as well. She alternates between being fiercely independent and on the go and being a clingy whiny one that wants to be held.
I also have a cold too.
Her birthday is next week and it's possible we will have our family gathering on Saturday. And I've still done nothing. I'm feeling very buried at the moment with our sickness and craziness at work. I just need to suck it up and pull it together.

@BandDmommy: I can't believe she'll be one this weekend!
J's birthday is 2 weeks from today (did someone else have an 11/24 birthday?)

@MamaG: I'm sorry you've had such a rough time recently It's so hard to stay on top of things when you and the kiddos are sick. Breathing problems + ear infections + teeth is totally miserable!

So I battled through the morning to get M to preschool (there is absolutely no one slower than a 3 year old), came back, put J down for his nap, hopped in the shower and... they called me to come back and pick her up She told her teacher her eyes were itchy (they didn't look that bad!) and a bunch of other kids have had pinkeye. J had only been napping for about 12 minutes but obviously he had to come with me. Turns out they both have conjunctivitis so antibiotics for both kids.
I thought it was a nightmare trying to change J's diaper - putting that stupid e-mycin ointment in his eyes 3x/day is a whole different kind of torture

@catgirl: Welcome!
@MamaG: That really sucks, poor girl. Hopefully she is better for her birthday! K will have a great birthday no matter what, so take it easy on yourself!
@MrsF: Oh no to pink eye! I can't imagine that battle, diaper changes are a nightmare over here also!
E has legit tantrums when I change his diapers most times! Yikes!

@snowjewelz: Oh, I'm just being a whiner It could be so much worse! I was just so looking forward to doing errands with just one kid! Getting that call threw off my whole day. As far as I can tell the kids aren't uncomfortable - so I shouldn't be complaining.

@MrsF: I can totally commiserate on the drops! I had to do them for C at this age. It was hell! Ever since then I secretly hope that if my girls have pink eye that they have something else too. The doc will prescribe an oral antibiotic if its a dual infection.

Our current tactic on diaper changes. Distraction with song. She loves to clap along to music. So we sing! And an occasional clapping of her feet keeps her entertained as well.
It happens to be the same technique for administering medicine too. She gets a taste and then winces and shakes her head. To get the rest of it in, sing! She will smile every time and I can get the syringe back in her mouth.
The really embarrassing part? My singing voice is HORRIBLE!.
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@MrsF: I was stressed out for you reading all that!
@MamaG: Haha whatever it takes! I sing and put on a whole show during diaper change and sucking of the snot! She loves it when I touch her face with her own feet, lol!
honeydew / 7283 posts
@MamaG: Gah - that would be so much easier! Their ears are clear though
I just made a chart for the drops for both kids so we can check off when we given them - 3 per day for 7 days is 21 administration times. Times 2 kids = 42... times 2 eyes per kid is 84. Crap!
ETA: good call on the diaper change and med admin show - I have to up my game!

@MrsF: That's a lot of drops! Oh how I loathe eye drops. I need to make a med chart for K too. I think we finish steroids today (must go back and count days).

@BandDmommy: O.M.G crazy! Went so fast!
@winniebee: I'm in for a new thread!
@catgirl: Welcome!
@MamaG: Man, so sorry! Hope K is getting better and you are too! Hopefully you can catch a nice healthy break soon!
@MrsF: ohhhh jeez! blahhhh diaper changes are hit or miss these days! Some days fights like a bear others is just fine!
@MrsF: omg that is a lot of drops, like having a second job
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
@MrsF: oh god that sounds terrible. Ryan had: drops around 3m and he acted like I was pulling out his toenails!
Ryan really likes counting so that helps with diaper changes too. Calms him maybe??
He still has a cold....but it's getting better (9 days later!). Not going to talk about sleep. Scared to But we are up very early for the day now (530!) Trade offs!

@whenoceansrise: good luck!
@mrsf: drops are pretty terrible
we made it back home today. it wasn't our most well behaved flight, but hey, we survived. got to the car in the garage and the battery was dead! so it's been a long day (our flight was at 7am), and i'm about ready to follow the kids to bed right now. ha.
on a more exciting note, we have steps! E will take 1 or 2 unsteady steps and then crash, so i think we're still a week+ away from anything you'd call actual walking.
eggplant / 11861 posts
@whenoceansrise: Many hugs and prayers!!! Come on Micah you can do it!!!!!!!
pomegranate / 3973 posts
@MamaG: I try and sing for diaper changes too, lol. Whatever works!
@MrsF: No fun with the eye drops!
@winniebee: Yay! Even though you're not talking about it.
@whenoceansrise: Hope it went well!
@KayKay: Walking, exciting! Its amazing how one day it just clicks with them and then they're walking everywhere!
