@BandDmommy: Yes, they know! First words from C this morning were "did Daddy give me a hug and kiss before he left?". I can't lie to her. We called Daddy at work and she questioned him the same. Thankfully, she also listened when I said I needed her help this morning and really needed her to listen.

@MamaG: It's so hard to do everything solo and particularly miserable when the older one is upset that Daddy isn't home M will ask me all day when Dad will be home and it breaks my heart when it means that she won't see him for a few days.
I hope the time passes quickly for you guys!
@BandDmommy: Oh that's so sad

@FaithFertility: That's a long night
It's snowing hard here but (fingers crossed) we're not supposed to get a huge accumulation (by Boston standards). Sucked because my mom was supposed to come up and hang out with us but she had to cancel. Luckily the snow held off until after our big MOMS club winter carnival so I got to help out and have a good activity for the kids to burn off some energy! (Probably why they are napping now )

We are currently at 24 inches, supposed to snow for another 4-5 hours.

Monday whomp whomp!
Over the heater being on...I know I have no room to talk, but G's nose is so dry and my skin.......is a mess!
I have a meeting tonight so I won't see G until tomorrow!
Daddy Daughter night!

Daycare cancelled and DH has meetings all day and has to work late. Going to be a looooong day! D is officially moving to daycare 5 days a week. She loves it and I hope the consistency will approve her naps there!

@BandDmommy: bummer
Glad D love daycare!
G loves it too!!!! Definitely fun to see them happy and interacting!

@FaithFertility: That sucks about not getting to see G! I went 12 hours w/o seeing E last week and it was tooo long!
@BandDmommy: Glad she's doing good at daycare! Are you working today from home or calling it a snowday? Your IG pics are crazy!
Ethan is doing so good at bedtimes/naptimes now, I just have to ask if he's ready for bed/nap and he will go straight to his crib. And we've been slowly moving his bedtime up too, so yay for that. Back down to 1 MOTN wake-up and can hopefully cut that back out soon...
He learned to sign More this weekend also, I was stupid excited.

@josina: Yeah! Seems like a recent development with K too where she'll let us know when she's ready to nap/sleep! It helps so much!
Well, we got 30 inches of snow and DH had a great time shoveling even with the snow blower.. He is so sore today and I feel bad that he has K all day. We def had cabin fever. Let K out to play in the snow for a little bit, but she couldn't really walk around bundled up, and didn't know what to do with all the snow!
Her post-virus rash for the umteeth time is finally gone... Fingers crossed that we get a stretch of no sickness, pleaaassseee!
K somehow learned what "me" means.. She points to herself and says me.. I didn't teach her that! I wonder what she's picking up at school b/c lately she says and does a lot of stuff we didn't teach her. Or she's just watching us? For example she'll take a used tissue from me and go to dump it in the garbage by herself... She started saying car even though I didn't really teach her.. Turns out my mom did, haha.

@snowjewelz: I love how much they learn at DC so fun to hear them say something! G points to planes and says planes!!!! I didn't teach her that!!!
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@FaithFertility: Right? I just assume it's daycare haha, if my mom said she didn't teach K either!
eggplant / 11861 posts
@josina: and that is so cool with sleep!
Hope it just gets better and better!

@snowjewelz: isn't it amazing the things they pick up...and how quickly sometimes?!
we had swim lessons back-to-back for both girls last night. of course e took a long nap, and i had to wake her up to go. so she was NOT happy for the first 5-10 minutes of class, but then she decided that splashing was fun. i offered to be the one in the pool with her and didn't realize *quite* how participatory it was -- was definitely not plan on going under! haha. ah well.
pear / 1961 posts
@snowjewelz: YES! we played a "peekaboo" game, where we held the kids up while we went under, and then said "peekaboo" when we came back up. Supposed to show them how much *fun* going under is. ha! All I could think was...how badly is my mascara running?!
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@KayKay: Haha they really should've told you in advance! I did go under a bunch to show her how to blow bubbles... They really should've told ya lol! You should've told them your crazy panda eyes would make them afraid to go under instead of thinking it's fun
honeydew / 7283 posts
@BandDmommy: Those are such long days I hope it's going better than expected!
@KayKay: I need to get our kids in to swim lessons again! I'm definitely not a fan of going in myself though (funny coming from a former swimmer and lifeguard)
pomelo / 5660 posts
@KayKay: I make DH do swim classes. He swam competitively at UNC, so swimming is his thing. Me, not so much. I like staying dry.
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@MrsF: It is so annoying now b/c you don't just have yourself to clean up!
@BandDmommy: DH doesn't swim so it was allll meee. Even tho it's not you need to learn how to stand there
honeydew / 7283 posts
@BandDmommy: Nice!
@snowjewelz: Super annoying. I don't know if I could wrangle both kids and myself at the same time. We did a swim class with M when she was little but it was on a Saturday so I made DH go in. Now that he's working FT and in grad school that just doesn't work though. We'll see!
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@MrsF: at the place we go to, they no longer offer mommy (or daddy) and me after age 1! We haven't signed up again since I don't know how much K would like swimming with the teacher by herself as a stage 5 clinger...
honeydew / 7283 posts
@snowjewelz: wow! I think most places I've seen have parents in the water up to age 3.
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@MrsF: ohh nevermind. the parent & me is up to 3 also... But it's a group setting and they teach the same stuff, so if I want her to learn more and not just play, I wouldn't put her in that again!
pear / 1961 posts
@mrsf: yeah, ours are parent-supported classes until 3. And i won't make the mistake of doing both girls back-to-back again! K was fine to sit and wait, but E was all over the place once she was done and had to watch K's class! the gym also has childcare, so it'd be an option to have one in there while i go with the other one to the class (whether i had to get in or not).
@banddmommy: that was my plan! except that DH had already run and showered, and i did a noon yoga class so hadn't showered yet by the time we had to go. unfortunately it made more sense for me to go in. i won't make that mistake again
pomelo / 5660 posts
@snowjewelz: I was about to say that's young to not have a parent in the water unless it's private classes.
pomelo / 5660 posts
@KayKay: back to back classes did not work for us, we have them both in water at same time. I think it was 2.5 they go in the water without a parent.
honeydew / 7283 posts
@BandDmommy: @KayKay: yeah - I'm not sure how I would do both kids on the same day. M is a pretty cautious kid and I think she would be freaking out if I were in the water with J and she had to be part of a separate class. I think I'll start with her and maybe I can do both at the same time once she gets more comfortable.
eggplant / 11861 posts
@KayKay: swim class fun!
We need to look into ot this summer!
They have so many classes here! I definitely want it to be more educational than fun!
Sleep I'm so over it! She will STTN for days even a week then wake at 3-4
Or wake for day @ 5
Then STTN for weeks?!?!?
Babies I guess, I always say I am not going to talk about it, but
pomegranate / 3973 posts
@FaithFertility: Sleep... I can't for the life of me remember if E was up once or twice last night, lol. My memories are blurring.
We're still suffering at least 1 MOTN wake-up, but he did sleep from 8 till 7 which was nice!
pomelo / 5660 posts
Ugh, once D wakes up from morning nap I am taking kids to daycare. I HATE driving in snow. We have AWD but still....
pomelo / 5298 posts
K's cold is either taking a turn for the worse or she's got a new one on top of the one that isn't quite gone yet. As a result I'm not STTN! She coughs and it wakes me. She's also just more unsettled than usual.
I've been following along here but don't really have much to add. We are just getting through one day at a time. I'm still struggling to find balance with two. I keep telling myself some day it will get easier.
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@BandDmommy: You can do it! The main roads should be plowed pretty good? It's been warm(er) here so all our main roads are super clear, just the side/tertiary roads that are still messy.
@MamaG: Aww I hope she feels better! I think all the illnesses is dragging you down too! They will probably be more fun once sick season is over!
K, dare I say, actually sleeps pretty good now! Falls asleep herself, STTN... Wakes between 6-7 depending on when she goes to sleep (she will not sleep a wink past 10 hrs). This means a lot since we never sleep trained and she didn't STTN till like 8 months!
