Ah, I've been following along with everyone but am so bad about responding!!
@FaithFertility: sorry your nipples aren't doing well - I hope they feel better after the cream!
@winniebee: Ugh so sorry about the lack of sleep H will usually have 2-3 hr stretches at night, but I feel lke they aren't really increasing. Also, he grunts so much, especially in the 5-7 stretch!! When does that stop?!
Also, you guys, my child almost doesn't fit into his 0-3 month clothes What the hell?! Ha. I got mainly 0-3 mo clothes because I figured he'd be that size for a while. I think he is just a long baby? I'm looking forward to his 1 month appt on Monday, to see how much he weighs and how tall he is. Where did my teensy newborn go?
Love that he's getting so big.

@ustechie: I hope he gains weight back soon! Maybe cutting dairy will help.

We might have our first sickness. K is congested and coughing and feels a touch warm. Big sister has a cold turned bronchitis and me and DH have been congested and coughing for weeks. I guess it was inevitable for her. I hate to see what happens to poor girl when she starts daycare in a week. She's still eating and sleeping well so I'm trying to stay calm about it.
I despise sickness in my kiddos. It makes me a crazy mom.

@MamaG: ahh, I'm so sorry that is so tough to see your kids sick! I'm already dreading it.

@theotherstark: its great that he is growing! K has her 1 mo appt on Mon too she is still in nb size but def filling out in them much more than the beginning!

@MamaG: boo! I hope and pray for you guys to get better soon!

@MamaG: I hope they feel better soon! I hate sick kiddos! The week LO2 came home from the hospital, LO1 got the stomach flu and then the regular flu...I felt so bad shooing her away from her little brother.

@FaithFertility: ugh- it stinks, doesn't it? I feel like I'm obsessing over every feed!
@winniebee: he doesn't spit up at all. Today he let out a few wet burps and cried like he was in pain. I'm just so over this and want my boy feeling better!

@MamaG: Poor K!! Sick babies are rough. Hope everyone feels better soon.
Logan REFUSES to sleep. He's been awake for FOUR HOURS. Even nursing didn't put him to sleep! I'm so tired and just want to go to bed, but he's just fussing. Boooo!
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@Freckles: I finally nursed him again at 11:30 and he passed out. At least his 4 hours of awake time resulted in 4 hours of sleep! I hope I get another long stretch out of him.
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@Adira: I'm glad he finally slept!
K is one month today! Maybe she is going through another growth spurt, she can't get enough from nursing! She still has good diapers so im not supplementing.
So I really need a game plan for eventual sleep training... I figure we will do whatever it takes to survive for another 2 weeks and reevaluate at 6 weeks and start some kinda training at 8 weeks in preparation for me to go back to work...
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@snowjewelz: Glad to hear you feel your supply is fine and don't need to supplement. All that nursing will only help your supply! I have no advice about sleep training though. With Xander, I did EASY and started doing a "dreamfeed" around 9:00/10:00 and he extended his sleep time to 7 hours before I returned to work so we both got a decent amount of sleep.

@snowjewelz: at this age they (IMHO) are too young for sleep training. I second EASY which @Adira suggested.
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@Adira: @BandDmommy: I just want her to be able to sleep on her own and not be held the whole time for naps! Night sleep I can prob confine to nurse to sleep for now as long as she will do longer stretches naturally
honeydew / 7444 posts
@snowjewelz: @BandDmommy: sleep training doesn't necessarily mean CIO, and I think going the EASY route is a great idea. I was able to start putting LO1 on a schedule around that time and it really helped with her sleep.
Speaking of sleep...guess who wouldn't sleep until 4AM. I really wanted to die...I was so deliriously tired!

@snowjewelz: I'm sorry, it must be hard not to be able to put her down!
I got a moby wrap as a gift and just opened it soooo confusing!?
Anyone use one???? Tips??

@Freckles: ughhhh I'm sorry! @ 3 a.m. G fed and was just hanging out wide eyed...lol These babes need to know day from night....
honeydew / 7283 posts
@FaithFertility: I didn't work hard enough at the money wrap to get the hang of it, but I remember watching some YouTube videos on how to tie it. I would start there!
J napped in the carrier last night (we have a beco Gemini) which allowed me to actually eat dinner at the same time as M and DH and clean up the kitchen. Kid loves to be held!

@Freckles: true, I was thinking CIO, which I think they are too young for at this age. But that's just my opinion.

Yesterday was D's first gymboree. She slept through most of it but got some good tummy time when she was awake. :). Sleep seems to be pretty consistent at 5 - 3 - 3. Can't complain.
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@snowjewelz: Oh, you can't put her down at all? That must be rough.
@Freckles: OMG, 4:00 a.m.??? I'd be dying!! I'm sorry!!!

letting my sweet tooth get out of control for the past 6 weeks was not a good idea. I just got my postpartum glucose test results online. I guess I need to really get my act together and start eating better. Good bye cookies!
We are all feeling a bit of cabin fever but I hate the idea of us heading out while we all are coughing and it's less than 30 outside. I look forward to my fairly quiet week as we go back to normal, but am sad that it's my last week off. January is a busy month for DH at work as well. I already know that some of the upcoming weekends will include work for him. Solo parenting two is hard, I don't know how some of you do it full time.
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@Adira: I def plan to implement EASY, we do a really loose one right now. I guess I'm not trying to full on sleep train just yet! Is Xander back in daycare this week?
She does go down but it's unpredictable. I was able to put her down this morning for like 10 min. Now I put her down I think it's been 20!
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@BandDmommy: I absolutely agree! I guess Im not trying to full on sleep train.. In one month in just hoping things will improve from where we are now, whether it's us doing something diffferent or her growing!
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@Freckles: oh no! I hope you get some rest today. I def don't mean CIO either but more to follow what you were doing!
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@FaithFertility: YouTube! I didn't get a wrap bc I can barely figure out a carrier lol
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@MrsF: I have the same one! I tried twice putting her in it but didn't seem to work out.. Maybe she is too little... But I did it both times myself. Maybe I should try again when DH can help
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@MamaG: bleh! So you failed it? What happens after? I have mine on Fri and I def have been eating carbs and sweets too...
persimmon / 1168 posts
@FaithFertility: I have the moby and their website had instructions/tutorials. It took me awhile to get the hang of it, my tip is to put it on yourself tightly and make sure the fabric is flat. My boy loves it otherwise I wouldn't use it because it takes awhile to put on

Happy (belated) new years mamas! I've just been lurking on here, hope everyone is doing well. Has anyone heard from MrsScallop? I've been thinking of her...
Harvey is 4 weeks tomorrow, I can't believe it. I'm dreading going back to work in 8 weeks or so. Left him home with my mom for an hour yesterday to run errands and I missed him so much...
honeydew / 7283 posts
@snowjewelz: I've used ours a few times but yesterday was definitely the most successful. What happened when you tried it?
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
@MamaG: oh no I hope you guys get healthy soon!! We have cabin fever too. It's just really difficult for me to leave the house with 2 alone when it's snowy and gross out. And on such little sleep. Hopefully soon it will get easier.
pomelo / 5298 posts
@snowjewelz: Yes, my a1c and my glucose values were both out of range. I'm not sure what will happen. I expect to be told to go back to my eating plan and testing to see if I can get it back in normal ranges.
My eating has been horrible, chocolate chip cookies and coke zero for breakfast and lunch? Sure, why not. Afterall it's the holidays! Ugh! If I can just eliminate the "sweets" and eat normal meals, I have hope that I will be okay.
