We've been going to bed super early too! We've gotten into a routine where we put M down at 7:30, come downstairs and clean up the kitchen and toys, sit on the couch like zombies until 8:30 and then take J upstairs to start the night routine. Sometimes he will go to sleep after that 9pm-ish feeding, and sometimes he'll cluster feed until 11 or so
The early bedtime is definitely helping me to get more sleep than I otherwise would - and that 30 minutes of time sitting on the couch with DH is some of my favorite time of the day

This is gross - but is anyone else feeling totally disgusting? I'm a sweaty mess all night and even after I've showered I feel gross and stinky during the day too. I remember the night sweats from after I had M, but I can't remember how long they lasted. Yuck.

@MrsF: we have the cluster feed as well before bed time. I feel like I should just attach her to my breast from 9 - 11 pm some nights.
@MrsF: OMG yes! I feel so gross. I sweat at night like crazy.

@MrsF: I remember this from my first, but never really went through it this time. I mostly just felt gross because I couldn't wash my incision. But now I finally can. It was getting to be stinky!
My problem, hygiene-wise, is dry skin. My face is so dry it hurts. I'm putting on lotion as much as I can but I don't want my face to start breaking out either.

@Adira: @BandDmommy: @MrsF: I had 2 2nd degree tears inside and 1 out... Called the ob and they just told me more baths and rest. I guess I get to tough it out.

@MamaG: OMG yes! Xander seems HUGE to me now! And so old!!! Walking, talking, has teeth, etc! He was my little baby and now he's such a big boy!
@MrsF: Ugh, yes, totally with you on feeling gross! Sweating galore! And I need a shower... oops. That's tomorrow's goal!
@josina: Oh yikes! That's a lot worse than me! I'm sorry!! I hope you feel better soon!

I ordered birth announcements!!! I really need to order Christmas cards - the birth announcements can wait. BUT I don't have a good picture of Xander yet for Christmas cards and I got some good pictures of Logan, so I just went ahead and ordered them. Anyone else doing birth announcements?
pomelo / 5298 posts
@Adira: I ordered both announcements and cards this week. I debated doing it all in one, but I didn't want to short change k.

@Adira: so cute! I just ordered our Christmas cards and figure those count. I did the same with M

STM -- when did your milk come in? Compared to last time? Last time I gave birth early Thursday and it didn't fully come in until Monday morning and I'm stressed about that this time since I know baby boy will be small like his brother and there will be a lot of pressure to feed well.

@winniebee: mine came in right away this time. Last time it took a day or so but I also wasn't allowed to hold LO for a day so that probably delayed it.

@Adira: I think I'm going to do our Xmas card / birth announcement together and use the newborn pics we just took, will be cutting it close but I should have them by next Wednesday.
@winniebee: I gave birth on Wednesday and mine came in sunday morning... I did have to supplement Friday and Saturday.

@MamaG: hi i'm from the feb 2015 board... Do u mind sharing where you got the personalized blanket? Not to be weird or anything
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@winniebee: Mine came in immediately. Maybe by the next day, if not the day of. With Xander, it took 3-4 days to come in.

Up for MOTN pee.....lol
Hope all Mamas and babes are doing well!

@winniebee: mine came in more quickly this time too I gave birth Monday evening and milk was fully in on Thursday (it had taken longer the first time) My nurses said it's usually faster for STMs.
Also - baby J was bigger than ultrasound estimates. Hope the same is true for you!

Ugh - ladies - I just realized that in my sleep-deprived state I ordered our Xmas cards to be shipped to our old address! (In the same state) anyone know if fedex will re-route it if I cont them? I'm so bummed
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
@MrsF: good to know!! Have they shipped yet?? The company may change it for you. Also I think you can call your local fedex to re route.
honeydew / 7283 posts
@winniebee: yeah - they've already shipped (I was so happy about that yesterday!). I'll call fedex in a few hours.

It's only 10:00 and I'm already finding two kids challenging, even with Hubs here helping. I've been nursing Logan for an hour because I think he is trying to nurse to sleep, but Xander is being so loud that he can't fall asleep.

@Adira: have you tried giving him a pacifier? I gave D a pacifier after she was done feeding but still wanted to comfort nurse. She loved it!
pomelo / 5660 posts
@MrsF: ugh, so frustrating. Hope you are able to get everything sorted out.
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@BandDmommy: I wanted to wait until he was up to his birth weight before giving him a pacifier...
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@BandDmommy: But then for sure, he's getting one!! I have a bunch ready! Although that reminds me, I need to sterilize them first... and all the bottles and pump parts. Bleh...

Hubs is already frustrating me. Whenever I'm not nursing, he immediately is pawning Xander off on me so he can nap or play video games! I get that he's used to a lot of down time on the weekends, but we have two now and I'm not getting any breaks...

We are officially a family of four with no guests for 2.5 weeks! K is celebrating the occasion by sleeping ALL day long. She's been sort of awake to eat and that's about it. I'm fearful for what tonight will bring.
C has been a little on the lazy side today as well, I really hope she isn't getting sick. My throat is still sore and I can tell that I definitely have some sinus drainage. DH is still getting over his head cold too. It was beautiful out today and I hate that we are spending our days inside, but I am too anxious about any of us getting sick (more sick), especially K. I hate that I have a newborn during flu season.
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@MamaG: Yay for no guests!! We live close enough to family that people just visit us for the day, but we've had a whole week alone already. MIL is visiting tomorrow though and bringing us food!
What a bummer about all of you being sick! Definitely wise to stay in just to be on the safe side. And hoping K surprises you and sleeps well tonight!
