@winniebee: yay! Glad you got a longer stretch of sleep.
@MamaG: Glad she did well with her shots, Ethan was the same way.

@mamag: e did fine in the 24 hours immediately after her shots but had a rough second night (up every 2-2.5hrs). Hopefully you are out of the woods, though!
@winniebee: that's awesome! I am still doing clustered feelings before bedtime too (4-530-7) to make sure she is full. Doing a bottle for the last one just so she is more used to it sounds like a good thing to try. Plus I need to rotate some of this frozen milk I have!

@winniebee: yay! so happy for you! I'm so hoping his reflux gets better!

@snowjewelz: we also just have the bumbo. I started putting E in it around 8 weeks. She was a little slouchy but is now rocking it!

@winniebee: yay all great news! I think I might try topping off again (which means I need to get to pumping for real).. I tried before and didn't seem to make a difference. But who knows now?
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@MamaG: that is great! Glad you got through it without much of a fuss!
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@FaithFertility: ugh me too. I nurse 8 times a day and with her erratic sleep schedule (never know when her long nap is, and I'm too tired at night) I haven't been pumping either! I really need a stash for the first few days of work!

Gahhh, this day sucks. We have Logan's audiology appointment at 1:00 and I'm supposed to keep him up beforehand so that he's tired and hungry when we get there. Poor baby is EXHAUSTED and just keeps crying, but I can't let him sleep because it's too close to our appointment time! I feel so bad.

Micah is 7 weeks. Shouldn't he be cooing and stuff now? He doesn't really make noises- he just likes to stare at me. He only makes noises when he's fussing.

@whenoceansrise: all babies do things on their own timeline.. Is he smiling?

@Adira: why do you have audiology appt? We had to take B because he was a preemie. I hated those appts.

@Adira: that sounds tough! I hope his appointment goes well!
We bought a second fridge/ freezer for our basement this summer, so the stash is in there. That stinks that you don't have anywhere to put a second one!

@winniebee: yes! I'm so glad you got a nice chunk of sleep!
J is having trouble with the bottles again he sputters and chokes like the flow is too fast but it's a slow-flow nipple! Has anyone tried the medela calma? It's supposed to mimic the flow of a breast better. Super expensive though and no way to know if he'd even take it. We've given him a few bottles a week since the beginning and he's just getting worse!

I haven't done much with my freezer stash yet, but I go back to work in less than 2 weeks so I feel better knowing I have a reserve. I've been pumping every day immediately after his first morning feed. That's definitely the time of the day when I get the most and my body is probably used to that routine now.

@whenoceansrise: G just started little coo's I think????...lol

@BandDmommy: Sometimes! I don't think he's smiling at anything I'm doing though!

@MrsF: I have heard great things about the calma but no experience personally
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@BandDmommy: He referred on his right ear during the newborn hearing screening they did at the hospital.
Happy to report that he passed this time around and she saw no signs of any hearing issues!! They really weren't kidding about it taking 2-3 hours though. We were there for 2!
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@whenoceansrise: I remember it took Xander a WHILE before he started making much other noises besides crying and grunting. Some babies are just slower to be vocal than others!
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@Adira: so you had to be there for 2+ hrs with him tired AND hungry?!
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@snowjewelz: haha, no! You just have to ARRIVE with him tired and hungry so that you can feed him there and have him nap! The tests require him to be sleeping, so that's why they want him awake but tired when you arrive. So once we got there, I was able to nurse him and have him pass out and they could test his hearing.

@whenoceansrise: every baby has their own timeline so don't stress too much! I wish K is one of those babies that just sleep well for her age but she is just not!
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@MrsF: ah so good that you have a routine and you know your body! I usually am by myself after first morning feed, Im thinking of pumping after her last feed before I sleep.
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@MrsF: are you doing paced bottle feeding so he doesn't get too much milk at once?
nectarine / 2053 posts
@snowjewelz: I wish I could get Micah to sleep anywhere but with me!
nectarine / 2053 posts
@snowjewelz: in their laps- haha. she said she's been trying to get him to sleep in his pnp but he won't.

Finally got Ryan's GI consult scheduled for 2/12. Our pediatrician characterized his need to be seen as urgent and that's the earliest they have (otherwise it would have been March!). And no one will change him from Zantac until then. I'm pretty annoyed that our pediatrician won't even trial him on something else.

Oh and for anyone looking for a carrier - a friend lent me the babyhawk mei tie and it's great! Feels very secure and good for the 0-6 mos age.

Update- I started bleeding today and took a HPT and its negative. Looks like chemical pregnancy. Can't say I'm shocked, my lines weren't darkenkng as they had in past pregnancies. I'm sad but I'm blessed to have 2 beautiful babies already.

@BandDmommy: I am so sorry! Still hope #3 will happen for you soon!

I sound like a dumbo but how do you use a pacifier?
I really don't want to and don't see a high need, but lately she sucks on anything...so I'm thinking it will help sooth her between feedings?
I don't want it to become a "must" to fall asleep or give it to her at night as she is a pretty good sleeper! How or why do you use one???
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@FaithFertility: K doesn't take one really. First of all I had to try diff brands; she ended up liking MAM so far but not the soothies. She prefers her finger/fist also. The only time I try to make her take one is during car rides and I have it ready if we are out. Liking the MAM just means she would kinda play with it in her mouth and keep in it for like a minute.
