@FaithFertility: that sounds like a great plan! You will love the extended maternity leave!
@BandDmommy: ahhhh 545 is so early! T is usually up at 630. What time is he going to bed? Any chance bumping him later will help? I have all the stuff for the big boy bed but am so worried about this my son is going to be in a crib til age 10

@whenoceansrise: cute baby boy! Total bummer on the glucose test. I hope you pass with flying colors.

@winniebee: he goes of bed at 8. The advantage of him waking up is he gets to see DH otherwise he'd never see his daddy. He takes a 3 hour nap so I think I'm going to start napping with him.

@FaithFertility: I think he's pretty cute! I don't think he looks like me or DH yet though!

@BandDmommy: Good luck on your 3 hour today! I hope you pass it!

@Adira: Thank you! They told me I couldn't have anything to eat or drink after midnight before my test. I wonder if they'd be okay if I had water?

@MrsScallop: Thank you! I'm not as worried as much about having GD as I am about what they are going to do to my poor arm!

@winniebee: My doctor actually said about this first test that he thought I'd pass "with flying colors" he was wrong! I really hope I do pass the 3 hour though!

If this happened after my first glucose test, I can't imagine what my arm will look like after the 3 hour!

@whenoceansrise: disgusting the second time.. I only have 6 - 9 weeks of pregnancy left so I'm OVER this test

@BandDmommy: oh man. I'm sorry! I'm doing mine next week and I am sooooooooo dreading it.

@whenoceansrise: drinking water should be perfectly fine. It won't impact your blood sugar readings.

@winniebee: Our 3 year old is in a regular bed, and will not get out of her bed except on rare occasion to get something she dropped. She will call for us first. You might be surprised by your LO.
She was still in our bed this morning at 3:45 though because she woke up with a diaper leak and I didn't want to change her bedding. In hindsight, I probably would have slept better if I took the time to change the bedding and keep her out of our bed.

@whenoceansrise: Did they do the blood draw in your forearm where you are bruised? My draws are always right in the bend of the elbow.
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@whenoceansrise: Aww I am sorry! I hope you pass! Trust me you want to pass even if your arm suffers! While there are good things that come out of GD, it generally stinks!
Kara is finally head done!! No wonder I thought she was having some party in there... I guess she was making the move! I just hope she stays that way!
She's 2 lbs 15 ounces and everything is looking on track! My weekly appointments are going to start soon, and since I have to be monitored for GD even more closely during these final weeks, I might have to go to 2 diff docs twice a week?!

@MamaG: yeah, they always have trouble trying to find a good vein on me! last time they used one on my hand
@snowjewelz: I hope I pass it! I'm just so dreading this test!
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@whenoceansrise: I've always done hand except for early on when they needed 10 vials and they HAD to dig around to find my vein. I feel your pain!
pomelo / 5660 posts
@whenoceansrise: I have hard to find veins as well. They've been using butterfly needles so far. They have to alternate arms.

@snowjewelz: wow, getting close! I am hoping the parties I have been feeling mean baby boy is head down now too. He has definitely moved in some way, breathing has gotten extra difficult lately!
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@MrsScallop: I was surprised too! I knew she was making a ruckus in there but esp being a FTM I can't really tell what's going on usually! Dr said they tend to get lazier so once they move they hopefully won't move back! I hope your boy is head down too next time you check!!

Weeks pregnant: 31
Weight gain: 17
Name: Darcy Evelyn
How are you feeling: okay. Trying to be cognizant of BH contractions and listening to my body.
Ready for labor: kinda. Still working out logistics with my parents for taking care of B.

@snowjewelz: All the appointments!
My MFM suggested I needed to be seen by my OB twice per week and I about panicked. This is my busiest stretch at work and I don't have time for all that. Luckily, my OB only wants to see my once/week but I will also have sono's weekly. They scheduled them all back to back in her office so at least it's only one day, but probably will be an hour or more with more time in the waiting room than I'd like.
LO was estimated at 4lbs last week which would put me on track for 8-9lb baby. I don't believe them They did this with C as well, estimated her weight at least a pound higher.
And I'm over the GD stuff too. I'm just ready to be done! My A1C levels have fallen back into normal range now that I'm eating better.
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@MamaG: I know, sometimes these things just don't work out with our crazy life! My dr was not too happy b/c this week was super crazy at work and I either didn't eat as well, or didn't get to test during the day. And I ran out of my meds and couldn't get to my CVS in time to refill, and she was not happy that I went one night w/o my meds!
I'm glad your levels are good! I feel like I was being too good in the beginning, while the home stretch is really when I need to be really good about my blood sugar...

@snowjewelz: ha, even as a second time mom I can't tell if I am feeling punches or kicks a lot of the time. But, dr just said baby feels head down right now, woo!
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@MrsScallop: Nice! Hope they are all too lazy to move again after this!
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
@BandDmommy: no question he will love it! It's not that part that makes me hesitate.
@MamaG: did your daughter fight sleep though? My son had never once asked to go to bed or said he was tired and plays for 30 mins or more in his crib before nap and bed.

Weeks pregnant - 28 wks, 5 days (but apparently my new OB says I'm 29 weeks and is going off of a 12/18 due date based on LMP but I know that's wrong).
Weight gain - 18 lbs
Name - nope
How are you feeling - physically overall pretty good. Tons of BH contractions and a few real ones here and there in the evening. Very tired in the afternoons and sleeping just ok. Some nights up 5 times to pee other nights just once. Mentally a little down following a not so great ultrasound this week but just trying not to think about it or worry.
Ready for labor - not doing any classes or anything. My mom will come up and stay with T when I go into labor but beyond that we haven't figured a specific plan. She's used to watching him including his bedtime so I don't need to leave any instructions.
pomelo / 5298 posts
@winniebee: Yes, yes and yes! It's a sure sign that C is tired when she randomly spouts, "I'm not tired, I don't need to go to bed". This happens completely unprompted. She also has a plethora of things to keep her entertained in her bed and will have full conversations with her animals, attempt to read books and sing songs. She's often in bed for 30+ minutes before actually falling asleep. Same thing in the morning, we are more diligent about getting her quickly because we want to get over the night time potty training hurdle at some point, but she will keep herself entertained in her bed at wake up too.
Now, I will say it is also burdensome when she drops a book or animal and yells for us to come get it, instead of getting it herself. But that burden far outweighs the middle of the night wake ups where she decides to leave her bed.
Honestly, when we moved her to a toddler bed, the first day we told her that she couldn't get out unless she asked first. Apparently that's one rule that has stuck with her. We have the same rule for opening the refrigerator, but at least once per week I have to remind her that she's not to go into the refrigerator without permission.

3rd Trimester GTKY
Weeks Pregnant: 32w2d
Weight gain: 27 pounds. Bleh. 10 of which were last month, but thankfully my OB said that is perfectly normal for third trimester so not to worry!
Decided on Name (Y/N): Waiting to meet the little guy before we decide, but our short list is Colton James or Jack Owen.
How are you feeling: Feeling good! Pretty tired and uncomfortable just for the fact that I have a huge baby bump, but our excitement for this little man more than makes up for it. Though I do wish this excruciating rib pain would go away...
How is labor prep going? This weekend we are having a "baby day" where we finish packing the hospital bags, install the carseat, and finish our baby purchases. We aren't taking any classes, but I do have some classes on DVD that we will watch together soon. I'm also going to start drinking RRLT on Monday, and will start taking EPO at 34 weeks (2 orally, then at 36 weeks, 2 orally plus one vaginally, and at 38 weeks, I'll be doing 2 orally and two vaginally.).. Getting really excited to meet this baby boy!

@whenoceansrise: Ugh, I'm sorry you have to go back for the 3 hr. And that bruise looks so painful!! Hopefully they do better at the 3 hr.
@BandDmommy: Hope your test went okay today!!
@snowjewelz: Glad to hear things are looking good! My dr confirmed my suspicions that baby is head down today, too. She said it is unlikely that he'll flip back up at this point, so fingers crossed he stays that way!
@MrsScallop: Ha, I can't really tell what are kicks vs punches at this point. My little guy likes to do lots of side to side butt dances, although there are lots of big kicks/punches too. It's kind of hilarious.
This is dumb, but I'm not really sure how to time my BH contractions? I can't always tell when they start and stop.
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@theotherstark: Woohoo! Lots of babies head down and getting into their positions!
I would have no idea how to time them either... I just know I get them randomly and they are long enough for me to be aware of them!
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
@theotherstark: I am not super diligent about timing them I just keep track of how many I have - like if I'm having one I glance at the clock and see it's 1:15 and then if I have another and see it's 1:45 I know I don't need to worry. When you have real contractions you will need to start timing them when they come on and keep track of how long they last and how much time between but since they are more painful it's more obvious. There are tons of contractions timer apps too.
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
@BandDmommy: that's awesome. I have never ever had T nap anywhere else but crib (and car and stroller). Looks like you should join them!
@MamaG: that's really good to know. I have visions of having to put him back to bed 30 times at nap and bed time.
