@MrsScallop: Crazy to think about single-digits! I'm 32 weeks now but my daughter was born at 36 (I was on bedrest at 35) so it's all starting to feel REALLY soon!

@MrsScallop: @MrsF: Thanks ladies!! Hoping it doesn't decide to stick around for the next 10 weeks!

@MrsF: I can imagine! Good luck over the next few weeks! I hope baby stays put a bit longer this time around.

@MrsScallop: oh man I feel you. Im not yet at the point where I'm so ready to be done that I don't care that I'm not actually ready for the baby! Soon enough... Something about being in the womb makes them feel safer too like we can better protect them.

@MrsF: hope baby makes it to 37 this time!!

  6. MrsF

    honeydew / 7283 posts

@MrsScallop: @winniebee: Thanks! No major issues at 36 weeks, but it would still be nice to have a little extra time and bring home a baby who's more than 5lbs!

  7. MrsScallop

    persimmon / 1328 posts

@winniebee: Agreed! At this point, I am perfectly ok with him staying inside for as long as possible (even if it was up to 42 weeks). No need to bring him out into the harsh realities of life yet.

@MrsF: I feel you! T was the healthiest but smallest full term baby I've ever known. 4 lb 13 oz the day we brought him home....

  9. MrsF

    honeydew / 7283 posts

@winniebee: I didn't realize he was so small at term! Even when they're not (very) early - it's hard to take care of an itty bitty baby. They had us setting an alarm to wake M up every few hours all night long and daily weight checks because she was so tiny and jaundiced. Brutal.

  10. winniebee

    hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts

@MrsF: yep tiny! 5 lb 5 oz at 38 wks! They wanted us to set alarms too but T only slept 2-3 hrs at a ime anyhow. That's why I'm not at all surprised that they think this one is small too.

Gah I've been on HB but I am just so tired and didn't feel like replying to much till now!

@Adira: @BandDmommy: @whenoceansrise: I hope we can all get some much needed rest before our LOs get here! I took out the pregnancy pillow and just kept my body pillow & wedge last night and seemed to be doing a tiny bit better...

@MAMAG: I know what you mean, I usually rather suck it up than take meds if I don't absolutely need to!

@winniebee: Does that happen a lot?! That stinks! I feel bad I wake my DH up (slightly) when I have to go pee!

@josina: So glad you had a wonderful baby shower! And so sorry your reflux is so awful!

@MrsScallop: I feel you... On one hand I'm so uncomfortable I just want my body back, on the other hand I'm not sure if I'm ready for her to come out!

  12. winniebee

    hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts

@snowjewelz: yeah when he is on call he gets called at least once overnight sometimes more. 3 was a bit much. So I definitely don't feel bad waking him when I have to pee!

  13. snowjewelz

    wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts

@winniebee: Ugh! That is pretty disrupting. I get really startled/scared even at sudden loud noises in the middle of the night!

@MrsF: @winniebee: same here. B was born at exactly 34 weeks and weighed a little over 4 pounds.

Found out (by accident) my family is throwing me a sprinkle! Do I set up a registry? (and then how to do I give it to people without them knowing I know about the sprinkle!) Or just let them get whatever they want? We don't really need much in terms of big stuff- but I do have a list of stuff that we need.

    What do you all think?

    pomelo / 5298 posts

@cheert16: That's tough. It might be worth setting up the registry just for the completion discount (if you have enough time left). I know target sends it out 4-6 weeks in advance (though I haven't seen mine yet), Amazon is 4 weeks and BBB is about 4-6 weeks as well. I'm not sure how you would spread the word, secretly.

  19. snowjewelz

    wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts

@MamaG: 4-6 weeks before your due date? Or shower date? Cause my shower is in 2 weeks and I don't have any coupons from anyone!

@cheert16: I agree; just set it up anyway! Maybe people will search online for it!

  20. winniebee

    hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts

@cheert16: eh I would but would mention it to your mom or something just saying you set up a registry so you can get the completion discount in things you need.

@snowjewelz: due date listed on the registry. BBB is 10%, Tatget is 15%

Oh I forgot to mention my brothers wife (due mid November with her first, a girl) had her baby shower last weekend. Gear has changed so much even in the past 3 years. Man I'm a little jealous! She got pretty much everything on her registry but also so much clothes!!!! People just live buying clothing for girls lol.

  25. BandDmommy

    pomelo / 5660 posts

@winniebee: really? How so? I think I want a new carrier.

  26. Adira

    wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts

@winniebee: I'm hoping not much has changed since I had Xander (who's 19 months)! I wasn't really getting any new gear for baby #2 (besides his own crib).

  27. winniebee

    hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts

@BandDmommy: mostly decor and everything seems updated. Maybe just because it's all new lol. Getting a new carrier as well.

  28. BandDmommy

    pomelo / 5660 posts

@winniebee: which one are you getting? I was thinking about an ergo.

  29. Adira

    wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts

@BandDmommy: Did you have an Ergo for B at all? I have an Ergo and love it. Very easy to use and baby gets to snuggle up close to your chest. I used to go for walks on my maternity leave wearing Xander in the Ergo and he'd just fall asleep in it. It was awesome!

  30. BandDmommy

    pomelo / 5660 posts

@Adira: nope we had moby and maya wrap and one other which I can't remember the name of.

  31. Adira

    wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts

@BandDmommy: I only ever had an Ergo, so I can't really compare. The Ergo is definitely structured and the baby is basically upright the whole time, through scrunched so they still seem comfortable. Although I've heard they make Ergo wraps now which are like a cross between the structured Ergos and an actual wrap! Not sure what those are like though.

  32. BandDmommy

    pomelo / 5660 posts

@Adira: I didn't babywear much with B because he was so it itty bitty and all the carriers were way too large for a 4 pd baby.

  33. Adira

    wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts

@BandDmommy: Oh yeah, that makes sense. I don't think you can use the Ergo with a baby that small either. I think the insert requires them to be 7 lbs.

  34. snowjewelz

    wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts

@winniebee: That's great! I actually put a bunch of clothes on my registry, hoping to guide people into colors/styles that I like haha.

@BandDmommy: @Adira: I have the ergo original w/ the infant insert AND the new 360 on my registry haha! I actually have a hand me down bjorn but I figure that can be DH's.

Oh and another TMI thing I discovered last night.. So my nipples are kind of... crusty. I lotion every night but it seems like I'm getting a lot of dead crusty skin still. And it seems like my actual nipple is beneath the "crust" and I'm apprehensive about picking it off Ugggh, I just grossed myself out typing this!

  36. winniebee

    hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts

@BandDmommy: ergo with an infant insert (have a gift card) and probably the ktan. We have a bjorn and a backpack structured carrier and had borrowed a moby. I liked the moby for early days through 2 months but have read good things about ktan. Tyler was up to 7.5 lbs after 4 wks s o I started using the moby then.

  37. Adira

    wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts

@snowjewelz: Normal! Mine have been like that for months (though I think it started later for my first pregnancy)! Your nips are just prepping for breastfeeding. Totally totally normal! I remember being so freaked out about it the first time around!

@Adira: Oh thanks so much for reassuring me! DH said they are getting ready to fall off Of course I know he was teasing

@Adira: Interesting! I never noticed anything leaking, but I wonder if it just dried up right away. Hmm, I hope it's a good sign for BF!

And I realize I don't like the word "crusty" when it's not referring to food
