@snowjewelz: Yeah, I've never noticed any leaking either - just check them out and see that they are crusty! The crust also comes off pretty easily for me and doesn't hurt at all. It's weird!
And I totally agree about the word. It seems so much grosser in this context.

I didn't really use a carrier for C. We had a Britax carrier that I used one time. I bought an ergo a couple of months ago when there was an awesome sale on them at REI. I just got the newborn insert in a package yesterday.
We just did sizeable orders from Amazon and Target of the little things on our list. We now have boxes of all sizes to recycle and a corner of a room piled full. Must move everything to the nursery this weekend.

Hi, I've been really bad at keeping up with the tread again. It's weird, I was slightly obsessed with HB in early pregnancy but it doesn't enter my brain to check for a few days at the moment, then I have to get through 7 pages all at once! Still loving you ladies though. You are all such great support to each other.
It's interesting to read some of the things that are just so different to the uk. We don't generally choose a doctor, we just use whoever is the closest to our home as it's free so there are not many options in general. We also don't tend to do showers either. I'm so jealous that you guys get so much bought for you! It makes so much sense to have a registry and getting stuff before baby comes but here, people tend to buy the baby a gift once it has come (9 times out of 10 it's clothes) so it's not so helpful but can't complain!

I kinda missed the boat in the gtky 3rd tri thing but thought i would join the party late!
Weeks pregnant: 31w 4 days
Weight gain: urg, this is stressing me out. I have NO idea. I know I started at 9stone (sorry, don't know that in pounds) and I don't have a scale to weigh myself. I asked the midwife yesterday if I could check and she said they don't weigh mamas who 'look healthy' as it stresses them out and they don't need to know their weight gain! I'm temped to go buy one to check!
Name: Lila Elizabeth
How are you feeling: really good. Getting really bad heartburn but have just started a homeopathic remedy and it seems to be helping so fingers crossed. Also not had to get up In the night to pee yet! I'm hoping that continues!
Ready for labor: erm, nope, not at all. Reading the Ina May book on natural childbirth and I have a class next week. I go to pregnancy yoga twice a week and they have a natural birth discussion after for an hour which is good. Still very unprepared. Still haven't even bought a single baby item apart from a few clothes. Don't know what is wrong with me. I keep thinking I have all the time in the world! Ahhh
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@Mrs.Lilac: haha, I kind of wish my doctor didn't weigh me! I feel so guilty about much I've gained! And that's crazy you don't do baby showers in the UK! You need to come here just to have one.

@Mrs.Lilac: Love the name Lila
I admit sometimes I get stressed reading stuff b/c I'M the one starting to get stressed out prepping for this baby and I get overwhelmed!
apricot / 348 posts
@Adira: I know right! I would love one! There are some people starting to do showers now but it is still very 'American' and some people frown on them a little! I have never had any friends have one but know they at getting popular.
@snowjewelz: thanks! It took us FOREVER to find a name we both agreed on. It is totally overwhelming planning for this baby. I pretty much know what I want and what I need to do, I just need to get on it!
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@Mrs.Lilac: Agree, and agree... I can't believe there's less than 2 months till my EDD, and even less time if she comes early!
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
Btw.. Had doctor's appt last night and DD is 3 lbs 2-4 ounces @ 31 weeks. I actually saw on screen her punching me! Now I have a visual to what she's doing in there all day!
How much is everyone's LO weighing per your last visit?
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@snowjewelz: Are you getting ultrasounds to measure baby?? I haven't had one since ~20 weeks, so I have no idea how much the baby is weighing. My uterus is measuring right on track though.
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@Adira: Since my GD I've literally been to the doc every single week; one week @ OB and another @ the specialist since I'm considered higher risk and I've been getting ultrasounds at both places, they're still doing growth scans, cervix checks, etc every time!
I read that our LO's should be between 3-5 lbs!
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@snowjewelz: Oh wow!! That's a lot of doctor's appointments! But must be nice to get to see your LO every week and know they are doing well!
According to BabyCenter's weekly e-mail, mine weighs almost 3 lbs. Considering how much I've been eating though, I suspect he weighs more.
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@Adira: For sure that's a plus... Otherwise it's really tiring going every week, waiting, getting grilled about my blood sugar, etc!
I actually don't even know how they really measure the weight and how accurate it is!
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@snowjewelz: I think it's based on the length and width of certain body parts, but I think it gets less and less accurate, the further along you get! Although with Xander, I had a growth ultrasound at 38 weeks and they told me he was 9 lbs 1 oz (give or take a lb), and he was born the next week at 8 lbs 14 oz - so they were definitely pretty close!

@snowjewelz: haha, seriously! I'm scared that this baby will be even bigger...

@MamaG: Ugh, I've been waiting to do orders from our registries until I get the completion discounts! But I'm now getting all antsy to have everything settled and ordered. Ha. It's a little annoying that they only send the discount codes like a month before!
@Mrs.Lilac: Lila is such a pretty name! Love it.

@FaithFertility: Happy birthday!
@whenoceansrise: Congrats on passing your test! Yey!
persimmon / 1328 posts
@snowjewelz: They haven't told me how much he weighs, I just know he is on the smaller end of the spectrum based on the measurements they have taken. I have another growth scan on the 21st though, so maybe they will tell me then!
pomelo / 5298 posts
@theotherstark: I learned from my first pregnancy to fudge my due date to get the discount sooner. And mine weren't being used for a shower, so no one would be confused. I still haven't received mine from Target (they just had a good sale).
persimmon / 1050 posts
@snowjewelz: My last appt, baby boy was about 3lbs 6ozs & the US RN said he should gain about 3-4lbs in the next 8 weeks, so hoping he's about 7-8lbs when he comes.
@whenoceansrise: Yay for passing!
@Mrs.Lilac: I feel you on needing to get things done. The further along I get, the less I feel like doing, but 8 weeks isn't much time!
pomegranate / 3045 posts
@snowjewelz: Man, you've had so many ultrasounds! I'm jealous; I don't think I'll actually get another look at our guy until he comes out! So I have no idea how much he weighs, etc.
@MamaG: Smart! I had a shower, so I think it would have been too confusing for people if we had a different due date on the registries Oh well. I'm just impatient!
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
@whenoceansrise: great!
@snowjewelz: he was 2lb 2 oz at 28w. I go in again on Tuesday for another growth scan will then be 30w and suspect he will be around 3lb.

@snowjewelz: I just had a sonogram this morning at my OB's office. They estimated 4lb and 32W. I'm currently 32W3D and the estimate was 4lb, two weeks ago at MFM. I know estimates can vary by technician, so I'm not too worried. I also know my first was estimated larger than she was born.
I had a great check today. My blood pressure was great and I'm at a 5lb weight gain. The OB said she couldn't have scripted a better progress for a 40 year old GD patient. It's what I needed since emotionally I've been a mess (super cranky these days) and I really want to eat all my cranky feelings away.
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@MamaG: Yaaay, that's so great to hear You're doing great! I wish I had been diagnosed later; I was tested in the beginning of the window vs towards the end. I was more motivated in the beginning; lately I just can't get some meals right and get upset at myself for having a high #.
pomelo / 5298 posts
@snowjewelz: Oh I'm struggling too! Today, I ate cake because it was at work and I was in a foul mood. I wish I still had to test 4 times a day. This two times a day business gives me too much freedom to test my boundaries. And quite frankly I just want chocolate, cake and ice cream and cheetos! But only a few more weeks to go. I can do this and so can you!

@MrsScallop: Thank you!
@whenoceansrise: Yay
@snowjewelz: No idea how big she is but I measured almost a week ahead last ao t, but she said that means nothing until after 36 weeks

@MamaG: Glad things are looking good!!
We have our childbirth class/hospital tour tomorrow, and I'm looking forward to it! It will be nice to see where I'll give birth.
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@MamaG: Yes, just a few more weeks!! I kept wishing someone would tell me it's okay to test just 2x a day haha but no one said anything But you are right; so much more room to indulge!
@theotherstark: Nice! Enjoy and report back! Mine's in 2 weeks. I've been there before since SIL gave birth there so I'm excited to go back to look at it for myself w/ new eyes!
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@MamaG: Wow! Glad to hear everything is looking good and going well! I'm jealous of your low weight gain.
So just had an OB appointment. Everything is looking good. Baby is head down and even kicked my midwife, haha. My next appointment is in 4 weeks, but then I can go weekly after that!

@theotherstark: Exciting!! Funny enough with B I never got to go on a hospital tour because B came so early. And the day I was released from the hospital was actually the day we had scheduled our hospital tour.
Officially 32 weeks here. If I stay pregnancy for 2 more weeks it will be the longest I've been pregnant. Fingers crossed this progesterone is working.
