@Adira: You're almost there!! I know Halloween is really not helping limiting sweets around this time! I'd tell you to go on my GD diet lol but I know I can't do it unless I'm forced to!

@BandDmommy: I hope you will share them too! Mine is on 11/2 and I promise I'll share!

@MamaG: Yay progress! We picked up & assembled the dresser this weekend, I love feeling productive! And I'm so excited for you! Means 5 more weeks of GD madness only!

@snowjewelz: haha, yeah, it probably would have been, in a way, good for me to have GD because it would've forced me to have to eat better! I'm glad I don't have it, but my weight isn't!

This weekend was the first time that I really felt uncomfortable to the point where I just didn't want to do anything. It didn't matter what I did yesterday I just felt yucky.

And I'm so over this GD non-sense. I have been craving sweets something horrible lately. And I've given in a few times.

My goal for this next week is to sort out a Goodwill run. I have two bags full already and I need to get our guest room back in order. I've sold nearly $900 worth of stuff in the past two months. The things that I have left that I feel like are worth selling just aren't going anywhere. I'm ready to bag them up and take them off to Goodwill and be done.

I'm ready to be done has sort of been my mantra for everything lately.

@Adira: Eh, I think I'd still rather do without it! The weight control is a GREAT silver lining but if I can choose I'd still rather not deal with all of this!

@MamaG: I feel ya... I keep saying that my cruising period is officially over. It's like something you just feel internally... I am 1000% ready for GD to be over too! It's so sad, I realize I probably can't even eat my own cake at my baby shower! And my birthday is next month, no sweets

    wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts

@snowjewelz: Yeah, I don't blame you!! I'm more glad I don't have it, despite my weight issues. I'll just have more to lose after the baby is born...

about the dtap vaccine- my doctor said that they'd give it to me in the hospital. so i'm guessing probably after micah is born?

i've already started a checklist of things i need to pack in my hospital bag! i'm officially 30 weeks so only 10 weeks to go! it's starting to feel more real!

  7. MamaG

    pomelo / 5298 posts

I need to ask my doctor about the dtap after all the talk on here. With my first I got it at the hospital before I was discharged. I'm not sure why my doctor has never mentioned it.

@whenoceansrise: I'm starting to think about getting a bag together too. Last time I had the diaper bag all ready and full early. This time, I'm not even sure I'll take the diaper bag. Just a couple of items. And I will pack my hair dryer. I guess I thought I was staying at a hotel and expected there to be one in my room - NOPE!

@MamaG: I wonder if it's just different for different practices. With my first, I definitely just got it at the hospital after Xander was born too. So I was surprised when they gave it to me at my OB appointment!

@whenoceansrise: @MamaG: I haven't even though about packing my hospital bag! Last time I started packing while I was in labor, haha. And I definitely over-packed. This time I know I don't need nearly as much stuff, but definitely want shower stuff, makeup (because that helps me feel more like myself), toiletries, change of clothes, camera, baby's going home outfit... not sure what else.

Last time I packed some high fiber granola, which I will do again. Unfortunately I needed it to avoid a suppository post partum. The odd little things that I'm afraid of!

I overpacked last time as well.

What's everyone's plan for bringing baby home in the winter? We had a summer baby last time. I'm fully expecting the coming home outfit to be a cute sleeper this time around. But blanket? Car seat cover?

    wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts

@MamaG: Xander was born in February last time, so we'll do the same thing we did before. Sleeper, hat, and a fleece blanket. Plus Hubs went out and warmed up the car and then picked us up by the entrance, so Xander was only out in the cold for a couple minutes!

We are going to work on our hospital bag in the beginning of November. Will probably bring blanket to cover her as well.

@snowjewelz: My birthday is in 2 weeks & I already told my Dr my #'s will be high because I'm having some sort of dessert. I don't care! lol

@MamaG: I'm over this GD diet too. I have to keep reminding myself there is only 8 weeks left. 5 weeks is so soon!

  13. snowjewelz

@whenoceansrise: I'm confused now too... I thought my OB told me to get Tdap before birth, but I was just on the pediatrician's website and it said to get it at the hospital after birth too?

@AngelicOne: Hahaha good idea, I should just warn her. Or I should just "forget" to test, muahaha... I mean, I usually will have a bite of a cookie or a cake or whatever... But if it's my birthday, I want what I want!!

@MamaG: I will def overpack and be that weird chick that hauls in a suitcase haha! I think we'll just have a normal outfit. We have those fleece bunting/body suits, plus blanket, plus the bundle me for the carseat... It shouldn't be THAT cold early Dec! I hope!

  14. whenoceansrise

    nectarine / 2053 posts

@snowjewelz: I have no idea! He just told me that they'd give it to me in the hospital but that DH would probably want to get one before because they won't give him one in the hospital since he won't be a patient.

  15. snowjewelz

    wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts

@whenoceansrise: Yeah the pediatrician's website said that the father should just get it at his primary care or something. But my OB made it seem like only I need the Tdap and everyone else just need flu shots.

I totally suck at keeping up by posting on here... I do read every day though!! Just wanted to share my exciting news that the baby boy has officially dropped! And thank goodness, because my ribs have been killing me, and now I can breathe again. I'll take lightening crotch over that any day haha

On the left is a picture from me taken Thursday at 33w1d, and then on the right (where I look super tired and lousy) is Sunday at 33w4d. I just woke up that morning and he was way down. Yay!!

  17. Adira

    wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts

@missybear: Oh wow!!! That's crazy how obvious that drop is!! Both my boys have always been low, so I've never gotten to experience that. And so exciting that he's dropped for you!!

  18. snowjewelz

    wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts

@missybear: Yeah you captured the change perfectly! I'm assuming my LO is "low" since her head is constantly pressing into my bladder!

Uggh, so I finally called about the breast pump, to get the Freestyle it's considered an upgrade for me so I'd have to pay $175. Worth it? Or should I just get the PISA? I'm hesitant to spend extra $ in case BF doesn't even work out; but if BF goes well, I would want to have the Freestyle...

  19. whenoceansrise

    nectarine / 2053 posts

@snowjewelz: That's what happened to me! My insurance was only going to pay up to $300 and the Freestyle was more than that- I didn't really want to pay any extra so I went ahead and got the PISA. I've heard good things about that one too!

  20. snowjewelz

    wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts

@whenoceansrise: I read a ton of old posts debating between the two... I guess I like that Freestyle is not tied to an outlet. Otherwise they're probably very similar... Argh, the stress of every little thing!

We didn't do anything to the baby room this weekend but we did finally set up our office since our desk arrived, and cleared a bunch of boxes to the attic so at least some progress in the house!

I was exhausted most of the weekend and definitely didn't do much yesterday (we were at he family lakehouse)

It will be freezing when we bring baby home so will definitely do a one piece or sleeper (new have to decide on it) and the bundle me for the car seat.

Tomorrow I have a follow up growth scan and cervical measurement. I'm not so concerned about the growth scan but am a little worried about my cervix. I've been having constant bh contractions and some real ones too for the past week. I don't know what the hell we will do if I'm even put on modified bed rest. This is exactly when I went into preterm labor last time (30w and change).

@snowjewelz: get the pisa and get a simple wishes hands free pumping bra. I had the pisa and never once wished for the freestyle.

  23. snowjewelz

    wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts

@winniebee: I hope your cervicxis still nice and SHUT! And really take it easy!! I know there are tons to do but anything to keep LO in there as long as possible!

And thanks for the advice! So you never cared about the fact that you needed an outlet to pump?

  24. winniebee

    hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts

@snowjewelz: you don't need an outlet to pump with the Pisa. It runs off batteries as well so I definitely pumped in the car or in random places (while golfing haha). I do think the suction was a little better on outlet but if you needed to do it on battery you can. Or at least you could with the model that came out 2.5 yes ago. I think the biggest difference between the two is the freestyle is hands free -- and u just used one of those pumping bras and it was easy peasy.

  26. snowjewelz

@winniebee: Ohh now that I read more into it the PISA does have a battery pack too where as the FS has an actual rechargeable battery.

So I had another growth scan today and baby boys interval growth is good. Meaning he has grown well since the last scan 2 wks ago. He's 20th percentile overall (2 lb 12 oz at 30w) which is not that small to me. His head to abdomen ratio is still disproportionate but the perinatologist now believes it is because he is just skinny not because he has a nutritional issue or because I have IUGR. I go back in another 2 wks for a follow up scan. I also saw my OB. We talked about the contractions that I'm having and she doesn't feel that another internal ultrasound to check my cervix is indicated but will do one if I want. I am electing not to do it...Its great if the ultrasound shows good length but what do we do with the information if it is shortened? Also after 28w cervical ultrasounds don't have good predictive value, apparently. Instead I'm going to pay more attention to the contractions and call if I have more than 6 an hour.

Overall pretty good visits. They keep saying my dd is now 12/18 which puts me at 30w5 days but I know it's a few days ahead so I'm sticking with my 12/21 dd. Total weight gain 19 lbs so seem to have slowed down in last few wks (yay).

  33. Adira

    wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts

@winniebee: That's awesome that the perinatologist believes your LO is just skinny and doesn't have a nutritional issue!! Hoping that continues to be the verdict for you at future scans!

@winniebee: sounds like a good appointment! Glad they weren't too worried about the contractions. I'm still having a ton of BH and I just can't even imagine what life will be like with a toddler if I have to go on any kind of bedrest again. My DH is in school, so it's not like he can just take time off work (I know your DH wouldn't be able to either!). I can't picture how we'd make it work!
