@MrsF: Congratulations on your baby boy!!!! But man, what an emotional roller coaster. That sucks about his kidneys! I hope everything turns out to be okay, but I can't imagine how stressful and worrying this must be for you!

@Adira: thanks! The MFM doc said that 95% of the time it will be nothing, which is very reassuring. It still worries me though. The dr really did not communicate well with us, which made it worse. My DH was really upset . I'm a nurse and I still didn't really understand some of what she was talking about and I obviously couldn't explain it to DH like I usually do.

@MrsF: C ongrats on your boy! FYI I have had several friends who have had this observation made during ultrasounds and everything was completely fine with the babies. It's apparently a common thing to happen in utero w/ boys.

Thank you so much for the kind words about my nana passing. It means a lot to me. I had to go shopping for a dress for the funeral which was depressing as all my dresses no longer zip up but never mind.
@aegie: thanks for that. I guess it is normal for bumps to change size and I'm just trying to not think about it now. Positive thoughts are always better!
After a really shitty few weeks with hubby being in and out of hospital (which is still ongoing annoyingly) and my nana passing away, we finally have some good news. We have had an offer excepted on a new house. I currently live in north London which I LOVE as the area is gorgeous but we needed a bigger place and can't afford around here so I'm moving to east London! I'm really scared about the move but it's a 3 bedroom house so we will have plenty of room. It's just not the nicest area... Most of you won't know London but the east is the least desirable shall we say! I like To call it 'up and coming' Oh well, I'm just very lucky to get the chance to have a bigger place so I'm very grateful.
@MrsF: that's is a rubbish about your scan but I heard a stat the other day about the number of people who are told that there could be some thing wrong with their baby at a scan and the vast vast majority ended up being fine. It's one of the reasons I contemplated not having an anatomy scan. Anyway, I'm sure he will be fine. Sending positive thoughts your way. X

@MrsF: while our medical concerns are not the same. I've been in and out of the doctor's office with repeated blood work and finally a MaterniT21 test because of a risk of downs ontop of other issues they keep bringing up. After additional testing, each concern has been cleared, but I feel like I've been through the ringer and back and still waiting for the results of the MaterniT21 test. Hang in there mama ....

@Mrs.Lilac: Exciting about your move! I actually did a college semester abroad in London, and I lived with a family in north London (off of Bounds Green tube stop). Lovely area! I don't know much about the east side, but more space will definitely be nice for your growing family.

@MrsF: so sorry to hear about the stress your scan has brought! This happened to me last time, too. Not with the kidneys, but with a choroid plexus cyst, which is also a DS soft marker. Ended up being nothing to worry about. I bet everything resolves! Baby still has so much growing and changing to do, yet.

Hi all! Sorry it's been a LONG while since I've been on here. We relocated to SoCal from NorCal at the beginning of May and have been settling in. Temporarily staying with my folks until escrow closes on our new home in August. Anyhow, I found out at week 14 that we are having another little boy! So excited! Had a MaterniT21 test done and there were no other issues with the baby, thankfully. Just glad I kept all of my older son's clothes & toys! Hope everyone is doing great and has a great 4th of July!

@aegie: sorry that you're still waiting, but glad to hear that some concerns have been cleared up. I hope you get some final answers soon!

@mrsf: During my last pregnancy, the MFM noticed that my son's right kidney was dilated and they were worried about pyelectasis. It was also a soft marker for Down's. I had already had the Materniti21 test so we knew that he was at low risk for Down's. However, we had quite a few ultrasounds throughout the pregnancy so they could keep an eye on his kidney. He has had no issues since birth, though he still has the slight dilation.
My dr said that now that ultrasound technology is so much better than it used to be, they're picking up many things that went unnoticed before (and often mean nothing).
Hang in there! I hope your LO is fine.

@mrsbookworm: Thanks so much for sharing. I know that this is common and often means nothing but the positive stories are very reassuring. I'm so glad that your son hasn't had any issues!

@MrsF: I want to say, though, that I understand how hard it is to not worry! I freaked out about the CP cyst, including crying myself to sleep one night. It's just so hard when you want your baby to be absolutely perfect, and you find out that there might be something unexpected going on. All of these hormones don't help, either. I just didn't want you to think your feelings weren't being validated, because I forgot to mention how much I worried, in my last post to you.

@MrsF: congrats on one of each and FX baby is healthy and perfect! And I think that is the case.

Thanks for the well wishes. I'm sooooo excited to start decorating my new place!
I'm seriously suffering with what I think is indigestion. I keep forgetting that it comes as soon as I eat and the past few times I have been for a meal, I have order a starter and then not been able to eat the main course as it hurts so much. Need to remember not to order a starter in future any other magic tricks to ease it would be welcome. I'm not doing a thing right now as I forgot to ask my midwife about it.

So.... I haven't posted here in months! Life has been crazy for us. We moved last month, and I got a pormotion at work so I have been adjusting to my new position at work. Baby is doing well and we have our official anatomy scan on Monday, can't wait! At my 15 weeks scan we were told it's a boy (!!!) so we will see in a few days if the tech was right! So hoping for her to have been right. We would love to have a little boy first
Other than that, my bump is getting really big which is super fun and I am hoping to do some serious work on our registry as well as our nursery, which currently is serving as a catch-all for all the boxes I have yet to unpack... 19w1d today! Can't believe this pregnancy is already practically halfway over.

Hi all! I haven't been around for several months but I've been keeping up on everyones posts! Congrats to everyone!
So I've had a very hard time...I have been off work since may with bleeding. I have a rather large subchorionic hemorrhage that is continuing to bleed. Three weeks ago I had a gush of bleeding that totally soaked through everything....I thought it was over but baby was happy and cervix is staying closed. I had my anatomy scan on Wednesday with a perinatologist and we're have a ! However he does have 2 choroid plexus cyst. We were told theres only a 1% chance of downs because nothing else was found. THEN he told us that due to the hemorrhage not shrinking I'm at a very high risk for mid pregnancy loss due to pre term labor. Im trying my hardest to stay positive but its so hard! I just pray I at least make it to 24 weeks. Im sorry if this scares anyone, I really enjoy reading all your posts and sharing in your joy!
love to all!
