@LCTBQE: Thank you! Yes, finally starting to feel like this might happen. I'll feel even better after the anatomy scan (and once I can feel him kicking). Hope you are doing well, you must be pretty far along now!

@marley: @catlady: yes, it'll be here before you know it! and I'm 30w now, also

@wheres_c: I hope you are feeling better!
@catlady: totally rocking a bump over here at 16 weeks! It is defintely smaller in the morning at least.
@MK0180: Yay for movement! It never gets old.
@pumpkinpie: Craving sour candy all the time!
As for me, we found out that it is a baby GIRL! We are very excited, but I am sad that I have so many of my son's cute outfits that I can't use now. A girl can rock all of the monster jammies right?

@tjlove54: totally. I dressed my DD in gender neutral clothes (other than dresses) until she was a year or so. Now she won't wear pants. Congrats on having a little girl!!

@wheres_c: AAHH - super jealous that you're going to San Diego! That's my home town, and I miss it sooooo much!
@catlady: Still no popping A little bit of bloating, which truly just looks like I'm getting fat... haha. COME ON baby bump!
@marley: Oh my goodness... I am all about potatoes and orange juice too! Yesterday I had potato salad and mashed potatoes for dinner...
@tjlove54: I hear ya - I am going to be so sad if I don't get to use all the sweet baby girl clothes again! And yes, girls can totally wear monster jammies!
cherry / 101 posts
@marley @swurlygurl @MK0180: Thank you! I will have to post a monster jam's picture once she gets here! They were my absolute favorite on my little guy!
@marley: My friends daughter never wants to wear pants either, only dresses! Dresses are adorable though. I am getting excited about shopping, although I don't want to end up with all pink.
honeydew / 7091 posts
@tjlove54: You can try as hard as humanly possible, but SOMEHOW, the crazy amounts of pink just sneak in there... it is bizarre...
My oldest, 3.5, is obsessed with dresses too! And, if they don't spin, she doesn't want to wear them either I've been telling everyone to get her 'spinning dresses' for her 4th birthday and Christmas... haha
cherry / 101 posts
@swurlygurl: I guess I will just have to give it my best shot. LOL I didn't want my son wearing lots of character shirts either, but now it is ALL Lightning McQueen and Mater. So I won't hold my breath on the pink. I love the "spinning dresses" only request. I can totally picture that... so cute! My wedding dress was a "spinning dress" so I get it!
grapefruit / 4988 posts
@swurlygurl: Congrats on the girl! I dressed my girl in lots of boys/neutral clothes as a baby. But yes, unfortunately, the pink starts to creep in really early (for us, it was through gifts from others at the beginning, and then it quickly became her favorite color). I hear you on the character stuff too. Everything is Minnie Mouse in our house these days!
kiwi / 706 posts
@swurlygurl: @tjlove54: She actually doesn't have a lot of pink in her closet. I noticed that my regular go-tos don't sell a lot of pink: Zara, Gap. She doesn't complain. But she LOVES the "spinning" dresses! She's obsessed with one that has a tulle lining. (I don't blame her. I want to steal it and make a grown-up version)
I ALSO had mashed potatoes for dinner! haha so funny!

@swurlygurl: we are Team Green! (unless i randomly change my mind at our anatomy scan....but not planning to!)
persimmon / 1096 posts
EDD: December 31st (new date!)
How far along? 12 weeks
Child number? 3
Will you find out or team green? I'm torn. we didn't find out with DS1 or DS2, and those moments at delivery were just the best. I love the surprise. But for practical reasons - namely the boxes of boy clothes I am holding on to - I'm considering finding out this time. My husband really wants to know this time around!
Feeling any movement yet? I think they were gas bubbles, but I felt DS2 at 14 weeks so I'm expecting it soon.
Symptoms: holy breasts! I am naturally small and especially after nursing two they were pretty sad, but the boobs are back now. Occasional headaches still.
Most excited about: Since I'm even considering it this time, I'm excited about possibly finding out the gender.
Most worried/nervous about: Handling 3 under 4 with something resembling patience
Purchase anything for the baby yet? No, poor baby is going to get 90% hand-me-downs probably. I will be a few newborn snugglies when we're closer to December.

I had a scary vasovagal attack today while I was at work. No fainting luckily. I had to put my head between my knees.
I've had vaovagal attacks in the past (pre-pregnancy) and my mom has low blood pressure, so I'm guessing it runs in the family.
I'll have to be more mindful of this though. Not sure what triggered it. Was about an hour and a half after I woke up. I had breakfast and was feeling generally fine. Ugh.
grapefruit / 4988 posts
@stiletto_mom: Oh wow, that is scary. Glad you are ok. Have you talked to your OB? I have low blood pressure normally and it gets even lower during pregnancy, and I remember my OB telling me last time to always get up very slowly from sitting or laying down. There was one time I went in where she said I should be careful because I might start to have fainting spells if it got any lower (I was lucky and never did though, but I was always really careful about moving slowly). I've already gotten up too fast a couple times this pregnancy and it freaked me out because I lost sight for an instant. Not sure that if that is similar to what you went through or not but hope you can manage it.

@stiletto_mom: I LOVE your announcement! Happy Anniversary also!
Ive been consumed the last couple days with a sick kiddo. my 3 year old has some nasty viral thing, fever, not eating, broke out in a rash. Seems to be better now.
I have another appointment in a week. I am actually pretty anxious for it. I'm feeling pretty normal these days and the bloating has really gone down. Almost don't feel pregnant. Its weird.

I officially announced on Fathers Day. Made a photo collage of our two girls and then the u/s pic for DH telling him all THREE of his kiddos wish him a Happy Fathers Day and many hugs and kisses until we can be together again.

@catlady: Pre pregnancy it happened when I got up too fast. But this time around I was at work and over an hour since I had breakfast.
I'm guessing it was because I was on my feet the whole time. No idea. Definitely trying to take all opportunities today to put my feet up discreetly though.
My mother had this and I distinctly remember being about 5 and she passed out while we were crossing a busy intersection.
Luckily I haven't blacked out yet. I immediately put my head between my knees and delegated my work for the next 10 minutes so that I could recover.
Also, thanks to everyone for the kind comments about our announcement. I also ride but will be selling my bike (not sure when I'll be able to ride next). I'll be super sad when it's gone. I would have to say that it would be my biggest sacrifice so far. Lol

@stiletto_mom: i had similar vasovagal episodes during pregnancy with DD1, particularly from about 18w-30w. they would always happen around mid-morning -- the first time we were Black Friday shopping, and I almost passed out in Banana Republic. Luckily my mom ran and got me a snack and some water, and I was fine after that. The other two memorable times were at Christmas when we were driving, and DH had to pull over at a rest stop (luckily there was one right there!) -- the cold/fresh air helped immediately...and then one time while I was brushing my teeth (I WFH at the time) and had to lay down on the cold tile in the middle of it. Ha. I didn't seem to have anything similar with DD2, and so far not with LO3 (although only 16ish weeks along). I think they were probably from low blood sugar? But who really knows.

@keepcalmcarrie: I hear you on the post nursing boobs. It was depressing, but at least they have some new life now. LOL.
@rescuemom10: your announcement sounds adorable! I bet your DH loved seeing it too.
@stilletto_mom: Hope you are feeling better! That is so scary! I got up too fast once during my first pregnancy and almost passed out. It was terrifying. Hopefully taking it slow helps you.
I caved yesterday and bought baby girl some onesies and PJs from the children's place. They had 80% off clearance and I just couldn't resist. I did manage to stay away from solid pinks at least!

Finally jumping back on here! Love reading all the updates and everyone's progress. It was a little bit crazy because I had my blood drawn for the Maternit21 test (or Kaiser/ Quest's version of it) at 10 weeks. I waited two weeks and didn't hear anything. So I called them and found out that my blood had never made it to the lab, just kind of disappeared! So I had to have it redrawn and just found out yesterday at 15 weeks that everything is good and it is a boy! definitely relieved, but it was a stressful few weeks!

@JPICKLE1: Congrats on baby boy! I can't believe they lost your blood sample. I would have been so mad as I don't do very well having my blood taken!

@Jpickle1: Congrats! So many boys in this group! I would have died if they had lost my blood sample. I was a huge pile of nerves as it was.

Thanks @Marley, @TJLOVES54 and @Catlady! It was a rough couple of weeks waiting! But now finally feels like things are little more real!

We went for an elective ultrasound this weekend so that DS1 could see the baby. He now calls it the alien baby lol.
She gave us some glimpses between the legs but we are still team green.
kiwi / 706 posts
@wheres_c: that's so funny! my DD went to the NT scan and she didn't know what to think. She was amazed at the technology though and wanted to know why they use the "clear goo on my belly."
@Jpickle1: definitely feels more real now! I'm now at the phase where my stomach feels pushed up to my lungs and I'm having trouble breathing. How can this be? I'm only 14 weeks!
grapefruit / 4988 posts
@wheres_c: Aw, alien baby. I wanted to do an elective ultrasound for the same reason but DH is afraid that the LO will think the baby looks weird and get freaked out. Maybe in a couple months. I'm too scared to bring her to the actual diagnostic scans (in case they find something bad).
kiwi / 706 posts
@catlady: I felt the same way about bringing DD to the earlier scans (and decided not to). We took her to the NT because I already got my MaterniT Genome results and I heard a heartbeat with my home Doppler the night before.
grapefruit / 4988 posts
@marley: I sort of wish I had a home doppler! We have the anatomy scan coming up next week but I am still(!) scared about it. Hoping to feel the baby move more often soon.
cherry / 101 posts
@wheres_c: aww, alien baby. My DS out of nowhere started telling everyone there is a baby peacock in mommy's belly. We still have no idea where that came from and he's still saying it weeks later!
@marley: I'm struggling too, especially with steps. I swear I'm not that out of shape!
Anyone start nursery prep yet or decide on a theme/color scheme? I'm starting to get ideas on Pinterest.
