@ElbieKay: I'm trying to tell my baby to stay put too! My toddler is not feeing well, DH works all weekend, and I still have so much to do! Ahh, I think Tuesday would be perfect though!

@Honeygold89: what a cutie! Can't wait to hear more details!
@Springtime: @elbiekay: no Valentine's baby here but the baby gave me such a boot yesterday that it practically winded me - I told it that if it was going to be that mean to me then it could get out LOL. 39 weeks tomorrow!
@danizaur: read your other thread... Hope they can get your pain under control somehow - even if it is by delivering babyzaur! I'm in quite a bit of discomfort this morning but nothing compared to what it sounds like for you!

Hey ladies! I'll be refraining from posting my updates until he actually arrives. I explained it all here and you can see why I decided to do that.

    http://boards.hellobee.com/topic/in-the-hospital-pretty-sure-we-arent-leaving-without-babyzaur

Too many false alarms have left me upset and feeling silly. I dont want to post any possible signs I'm having or possible labor again until I'm either induced or my water breaks. Good luck! I'll still be stalking for updates from you all still.

@Danizaur: hope it happens soon for you Dani. It's hard at the tail end of pregnancy... I feel like I have nothing new to say anymore

@Danizaur: aww ok but just so you know... Everyone's on your side!! Come back anytime! And stalk away. I check for updates on this thread about 10 times a day. And sorry you had such a shi**y day yesterday! Boooo

No update from me except to say my LO is away for the night so I've been relaxing big time! My nighttime leg pain is keeping me up at night so I took a few Tylenol last night. Anddddddd I'm looking at a 15-35 cm snowstorm tomorrow with 100 km+ winds and a 2 hr drive to my hospital. Please please please don't come tomorrow baby! I should have driven into town today and stayed at a hotel just in case.

Here's a pic of Grace this am before we went to a party. She's so excited about new baby.

@Danizaur: poor mama it's almost over. Can't wait til we hear from you.

@IcebergMom: I hope you don't get stuck in all that snow. And she is so cute I bet she's real anxious. We came home from the hospital today and my mom and oldest niece came to visit and my neice is so in love with Noah she asked can they take him home And told me to pack all his stuff lol but the funny thing is her mom (not my sis) is pregnant but she say she doesn't want her mommy baby she wants Noah. Lol she 6

@Honeygold89: I can't remember if I commented on your other thread but I just had to say again that little Noah is such a handsome little guy!! I love the hoot of your DH with him, he just looks like the proudest papa. Hope you're settling in well at home!

@Ree723: thanks DH has been so good with Noah and he really is so proud he's been showing everybody Noah's pictures even strangers lol. We doing great and I'm loving motherhood so far. How's everything going the second time around for you and your two.

    @IcebergMom: thanks

Here's my birth story if anyone wants to read it.

@Mrs Music: I am due in 6 days and supposedly working from home til I pop. I hope the baby is a little early -- tomorrow would be great since I am almost done with packing my hospital bag and with finishing the taxes! -- because I have already wrapped up most of my work responsibilities and am going to have to dig up stuff to do.

@ElbieKay: Arrgh, taxes...I really should get on that <sigh>

@Mrs Music: Jealous! None for me until I "pop", then a whopping 8 weeks. Still, better than none at all.

    Congrats @Honeygold89! Noah is precious!

@icebergmom - Grace is so adorable - hope the baby holds off until the weather gets better!

1 more week until my due date - and I finally feel "ready" for the baby to come. Have a few more things to wrap up at work but will be working up until the last possible minute.

@matador84: @ElbieKay: @OldEnglandMama: wow you guys are amazing... I feel super lazy now.. I took my rdos and annual leave from the beginning of Feb (am due 26th) and my actual mat leave doesn't start till this Friday... perhaps I should have saved it and worked from home till I popped too...either way I reckon I'd be bored.

How much stuff is too much stuff to take in a hospital bag? I have a bag for my LO and one for me and I'm scared they are too big.

  22. artsyfartsy

    cantaloupe / 6692 posts

@Mrs Music: looks about right. I have a small wheelie suitcase and then a clear tote with my toiletries about the size of your black bag. So you are traveling light compared to me! And I didn't even pack for my LO except for a blanket and a couple of going home outfits!

  23. Mrs Music

    cherry / 209 posts

@Danizaur: Good to know. How far away is your hospital? Mine's a 20 minute drive and I'll be there max 2-3 days.

  24. SweetMamaM

    pear / 1743 posts

@Mrs Music: looks fine - we have a labour bag (snacks, bathing suits for hubby and myself, homeopathic meds) that will go home with hubby, baby bag with outfits for four days and suitcase with gear for me for four days. We want to stay at the maternity centre until milk comes in and breast-feeding is established.

Had first round of prodromal labour last night... That was fun - not! I'm in the filthiest mood these days and am hermiting myself at home - I have no idea how some of you ladies are still working!

Ok so we had a productive 3-day weekend. I finished the taxes (tho my software needs to wait for an updated form from the IRS so I still need to process the eFile, but the data is all entered and reviewed). My husband made a big Costco run and then made huge matches of both green curry chicken and bolognese from scratch. Everything is in the freezer so we should have plenty of backup meals plus we live someplace with plenty of delivery options. I am half-packed for the hospital. Things like toiletries need to wait til the last minute, but I picked a few outfits (in different sizes) for the baby, and I have a packing list for everything else. My sister came over to pick up our spare key and learn how to take care of the cats. My husband vacuumed. And my doula is back from vacation.

Ideally my husband will clean the bathtub -- I can't really bend over to do that anymore! -- and I will spend a couple of hours tackling a few piles of backed up paperwork, but for the most part I feel pretty organized and logistically ready.

Baby was kicking my cervix like a mofo last night. Hopefully he will figure out how to exit soon. My hips, back, uterus and sinuses are ready for this to be over!

@Mrs Music: @Danizaur: my hospital bags look about te same as that picture plus I'm taking my Breastfeeding pillow. I found it helpful with my last birth to have a place to nurse and also prop up baby.

No storm baby for me. I'm on the road right now w DH to go to a hospital appt. getting a internal exam today to see where I am and get my membranes swept and talk more about how my VBAC will work!

    @theknest: thanks. She's a rascal but a great girl

  28. theknest

    apricot / 453 posts

@Mrs Music - you did a great job packing - I'm waaay over-packed. We live an hour + away from the hospital and hoping to have a VBAC but brought enough stuff for a c-section stay. I'm not a fan of wearing the hospital gowns more than I have too - and my DH plans to stay with me the whole time, so he's got "stuff" too. So I have 1 medium suitcase, camera bag, diaper bag, breast pump, boppy and a gift for big brother. I should try to condense but I feel more prepared with lots o' stuff!

@icebergmom - hope your apt goes well. I have one today as well - hoping I'll be able to get a membrane sweep today as well!

I'm about to head out to my 39 week appointment. DH just sent me an email about this place: http://ericslapatisserie.com/radio.html

It's ~5 minutes from the hospital where I'm seeing the midwife. I'm thinking lunch on the way back...

Booo my appointment was kind of crappy today.

    Good news
    -baby and I are healthy
    -he did the membrane sweep

    Bad news
-because I'm VBAC and likelihood for Csection is still fairly high I'm being directed to a different hospital since my normal hospital is renovating their operating rooms! So if I labour before Tuesday I go to this other hospital.
-this new hospital is not VBAC friendly

Good thing I asked you all about my hospital bags... My water trickled out at about 4am (goodbye sleep). It was so hard trying to sleep with my DH snoring beside me and having cramps. Going into the hospital later for checks although they aren't yet sure whether to send me in for feel monitoring or to birthing. Either way I'll probably just get checked, given an induction date incase nothing happens and then sent home.

I haven't even finished cleaning the house yet! I made a bigger mess in the process of doing it!

Wanted to update, had my baby girl yesterday 2/17 at 9:53 pm.

I went in for my 39 week checkup and somehow developed pre eclampsia and had to be induced. I was already 4 cm so my labor was super fast, 8 hours compared to my last 18 hour induction. I only pushed like 8-9 minutes and out she came with no tearing! Her name is Jemma and weighs 6 lbs 12 oz. so far she's a great baby and an awesome breast feeder!

@Springtime: sorry to hear that you developed pre-e but it definitely sounds like the most positive scenario given the situation. She is a cutie!

    @Springtime: Congrats!! such a cutie!

They confirmed my hindwater broke this morning.. still have had hardly any of it come out and I'm about 1cm dilated (boo). Induction scheduled for Saturday (today's Wednesday) if baby doesn't come naturally by then. So praying baby comes before then otherwise bye bye water birth... (not to mention, if she comes like now, I'll be home by Saturday in time for people to visit!)

Looks like I'm joining @Mrs Music: on the active waiting bandwagon - started doing my bed routine and waters are leaking! Not a huge gush everywhere, more like constant trickling and no contractions yet. Midwife has been called and I'm settling in to try and get a decent sleep (or for proper contractions to start), will be heading in for monitoring tomorrow morning. Night all!

@Springtime - Congrats - Jemma is adorable! Glad things are going well!

@Icebergmom - sorry you had a crappy apt - mine was kindof a downer as well. The midwife won't do a membrane sweep until 41 weeks for fear of infection...? I'm seeing a different one at my 40 week apt.

I'm finally ready for this baby to come.....but I guess this little girl has other plans.
