@californiadreams: haha I want to know what I'm having, too! Super anxious for February!
I just got my neural tube defect screening results back and I thankfully screened negative. A little weight lifted!

Nywolfmama- congrats on boys!! Are they identical?so exciting to have so many twins coming next year!another mom on march board is expecting twins too!!
pea / 9 posts
@sassymama34: they are fraternal twins, happy as clams according to today's ultrasound! I love seeing them in the ultrasounds! Due to some complications early on and my "advanced maternal age" of 36, I get to have lots and lots of ultrasounds. Fine by me because I love the reassurance of seeing their little hearts beating and watching them develop week by week. It's truly magical.

@sassymama34: I see your twins are #2 and #3, how lucky that you have some experience in this mama game already! It's gonna be crazy welcoming two at once but we worked hard to get here so we are more excited than outright terrified.

Hello everyone - well we just got the news that we are having a baby boy! I knew the entire time this baby was a boy. The ultrasound tech actually had it wrong at first and told us a girl and then about a half hour into the scan she saw the penis and shocked all of us! It is definitely a healthy baby boy! We are over the moon. It is amazing to see your child growing inside you. So in love already !
Hope your all having a good week!

We had our ultrasound last Friday!! We weren't expecting to learn the sex until sometime this week. But we had an awesome tech who told us and showed us everything!!
ITS A BOY!!!!!!!!!!!!
My dd is so excited!!

@Bella214: @mrskrumpet: congrats on your boys!!
I have my anatomy scan tomorrow morning at 830....I can't wait to finally find out!!!

@californiadreams: Yay!
So exciting all the appointments that have happened or are coming up soon!
So I logged on to my online patient portal to look up my next appointment date and noticed that under "current health issues" it says "placenta covering opening to birth canal" and when you click on more information it is the generic entry on placenta previa. I assume it was found during my first trimester screening, but the sonographer didn't say anything and I never heard from my doctor, so I am assuming it's not a huge deal at this point, and I've read that it can resolve itself as my uterus grows, but it threw me for a loop! I called the nurses line and left a message to make sure there isn't anything I have to do differently. I have still been exercising and doing prenatal yoga, but a lot of the online recommendations are to keep physical activity to a minimum.

@TemperanceBrennan: I had to LOL reading your post because you sound just like me. I'm obsessed with my online patient portal, but I'm really starting to think it does more harm than good. At my 8 week scan at my RE's, they included in the U/S report that I may have an acurate uterus and I was like OMG WHAT DOES THAT MEAN and they were like "your uterus has a dip, please relax!" Then I read a note in my NT scan results that they couldn't "rule out" placenta previa and I got myself so worked up about complications and c-sections! I've tried just trusting that if my care providers haven't directly mentioned it to me, it's not an issue! From my own reading it seems like placenta previa usually resolves itself even when it's seen at the 20 week scan, and it's really meaningless if seen at a 12 week scan because your uterus is so small and has so much growing left to do. I think with later-term placenta previa there is a risk of bleeding if you work out/have sex, which is why rest may be recommended. I would say if you're not bleeding then you don't need to cut back (at least not at this stage of pregnancy), but it's good you have a call in with your nurse!

@ms.line: I know! I'm not typically a worrier by nature, but it's making me uptight! You're right, we are the same because I would have done the exact same things that you did. I love my doctor and her office, but I wish a little note like "I'm making a note for us to check this out at the next appointment. It usually resolves itself and nothing to worry about at this point". Last night I spent all night in bed because one of the treatment options was bed rest. I have had a completely normal pregnancy so far with no hit of bleeding at all and I don't fit a single risk factor category for placenta previa - so I think it was more of an excuse to be lazy . Still haven't heard back from the nurses, but I think I've talked myself out of being too worked up about this. Glad to know I'm not the only one.

Had my scan and am having another boy!
I was more sad about this than i thought i would be. I can relate to @ladybee: with the gender disappointment. But as the day goes on, I am feeling better. It was just a bit tough when that hope of a daughter initially got crushed.

Aww congrats california! I know what you mean tho by being disappointed initially.. But yay boy

@sassymama34: @TemperanceBrennan: @ms.line: thanks!
and ya it is crazy at how many boys we have in this group already! i think that's one reason i had higher hopes for a girl, thought the odds were in my favour since it should be 50/50 ratio.

it's weirder to feel gender disappointment this time because i have a boy at home that i love more than life itself, so it doesn't make sense to me that i feel this way. if that makes sense, lol.

@californiadreams: I'm sorry you're bummed, I can totally understand being disappointed and having to change your expectations.
I'm really scared the odds aren't in my favor for another boy now with so many in our group already. We have our elective scan tomorrow and I'm really hoping for another boy. I had two brothers growing up and am just used to having boys around. I also think that siblings of the same sex tend to have a closer relationship.

@californiadreams: Congrats on your boy! I have to say I had an initial moment of disappointment (more like surprise) too b/c I was imagining M with a sister and we always thought we'd have two girls. But I'm definitely liking the idea of a little boy now

@ladybee: Mark us down for team pink...
I'm having a little trouble picturing it right now, but I'll get there. I'm not disappointed per say, I just need to adjust the picture in my head.

CONGRATS all the ladies for your beautiful baby boy or baby girl! Or for twin mamas boy/girl and boys!
For the gender disappointed ️
️ To you!! No matter what you will LOVE and adore your baby and he or she will be the perfect fit for your family... So glad you have this time to "mourn" and feel and process before birth day.
So exciting that we are all approaching this halfway point. We find out next Monday (not this Monday) and I would be thrilled with either boy or girl..
We have a 1.5 yr old boy now.. Anther boy would be nice because little boys are Soo much fun and brothers could play together so well. My hubby is the youngest of 3 boys and my in-laws raised some good sons! Contrary to popular belief all three families stay close to home and we are a close knit family unit. And for some reason I always saw myself as a mom of boys .
A girl would be nice bc it's something different and it'd be fun to have a mini me! I also think having boy-girl siblings they will be able to balance each other out and still play together though they probably won't as they get older.. I also would like at least one daughter eventually!!

Add me to the list of having a boy!
We've already got a daughter and I was leaning towards preferring another girl because we have so much girl stuff already, but a boy can/will be great too.
I'm sad that we won't get another u/s until their birth day. It's so lovely to see them in there, moving around, heart beating, etc.

@Ellie: congrats on your boy!! You don't get another u/s until February?! Is that normal? Seems like so long to me... Especially since I have had to have such frequent u/s.
