For some reason I haven't been getting emails alerting me to new posts, so I'm totally behind from the last 3 days. But caught up now and so excited for everyone's successful scans and sex reveals! We do indeed have a lot of boys coming up! I'm hoping (like several of you) that the odds are in my favor for a girl...but I have to wait another 5 months to find out! Of course I'd be happy with either
So I am officially 20 weeks today: halfway there! I can't believe how quickly time is flying. I feel like it was just yesterday that we got our BFP. I'm really loving this part of pregnancy: I love my bump and all the great comments I get, and I love all the little movements I'm feeling.
@TemperanceBrennan: I am so frustrated for you about finding out through your Patient Portal about potential placenta previa. You're completely right that a simple note stating that you shouldn't be alarmed would have been so easy to send and done so much to reassure you. I work in the healthcare field and one of my research teams is working on the best way to inform patients about stuff. It really drives me crazy when this kind of stuff happens! But I'm glad you're not worried anymore and you're taking it in stride. If I were you, I would mention it to your doctor at the next visit to make sure it doesn't happen again. Fingers crossed everything looks good!

@NYWolfMama: Nope, no more ultrasounds unless there's a reason or suspected issue. I believe it's normal - it was the same with my last one.
You can opt for a paid ultrasound or 3D scan or something, but really, the next time I see those little arms and feet will be in person!

@Ellie: Thanks for the info. This is my first pregnancy so I have no idea what is normal. (Other than that my situation has not been normal so I've already had 7 u/s in 16 weeks, with my 8th being this Wed.) I love the reassurance I get from seeing their little heart beats and watching them grow. I haven't felt any movement yet which is bizarre because they literally jump around during the u/s! I can't wait until I do (or until I recognize it... Again, not sure what to expect there!)

Nywolfmama-how far are you now? Im 16 weeks on Wednesday n been feelin sporadic flutters on left side where girl is but nothing consistent and im betting wont feel boy on my right until further since his placenta is in front (hers is in back). Do you know where yours are?
I see dr tmrw so will have another u/s

@TemperanceBrennan: As as FTM with a due date closest to mine, do you have a bump/feel any movement yet? I feel zero movement and while I'm definitely bigger in the stomach, I still don't look pregnant at all! Feeling a bit frustrated...

@ms.line: I am so relieved you posted this, I'm in the exact same situation. My pants are definitely tighter and if I suck in and kind of stretch my skin over my belly I can see that my uterus has grown a bit, but I don't look pregnant at all either. All I have felt so far is gas.

I'm 17 weeks today with my second and today is the first day I've felt real movement. Some bubbly feelings down low - kind of like gas bubbles. Apparently I'm the only one that can see what I feel like is a real bump. Everyone tells me they can't see anything but to my eyes, I'm looking very, very round!

@sassymama34: I'm 17 weeks. I felt one random flutter a few days ago that made me wonder "is that it?!" but nothing since then. Both placentas are posterior (in the back).
Im smiling at these posts where mamas aren't really showing yet. With these 2 boys, there is NO DOUBT that I'm pregnant. My days in my regular pants are already over!

@TemperanceBrennan: hahaha yes I've definitely been doing the suck-n-stretch, too! Sometimes I get worried/discouraged when I hear so many other mamas talk about when they got their bumps or felt movement, so I'm glad you're in the same boat as me! I also had a midwife appointment this afternoon - baby's heart sounded good and she said my uterus is right where it should be, so I guess I shouldn't fret.

@ms.line: you can put me down as team pink. We're are so excited!! Work has been crazy so I've been awful at posting.
Not sleeping great but feeling better. Overall it's been a very uneventful second trimester, which is all I can really hope for!

@TemperanceBrennan: @ms.line: that was me with my first. I documented pictures on the blog, which is just depressing now haha BC I'm so much bigger. But with my first I was small until the third trimester and then grew very quickly!!
@ms.line: we do have a team! And I will share in a few days. We did a cute little reveal in the mail, and I want to make sure everyone got them before posting here. But I can't wait to spill the beans!!

Oh and this is my second and I'm hardly feeling movement. My first I was feeling a ton by this point, so I think it can depend on how the baby is positioned.

Hey guys! Just had my appt n babies looked great measuring right at 16 weeks!! So in love now just waiting to do quad blood test

@ms.line: in my first pregnancy, my bump now (from 18-20 weeks) was only this prominent by 25-26 weeks. So i definitely popped earlier this time. And in my first pregnancy, i had SUCH a hard time feeling movement until later on as well. It is totally different second time around.

@californiadreams: I'm averaging about ten weeks larger than my last. Was hoping I'd even out at some point, but it doesn't look like that'll be the case.

@ms.line: I was 22 weeks before I felt my first move. The placenta was in the front. I know it's hard, but try not to stress!

@ms.line: I'm still team green! Thank you for checking in! I was nervous I would cave at the anatomy scan but we stayed strong!
I haven't been on here very much lately but it has been so fun catching up with all the posts. I've been loving seeing everyone's team announcements and all the cute ultrasounds! Everything has been going great with me. I've been feeling better now that I am solidly in the second trimester, everything looked perfect at the anatomy scan and I've been feeling movement consistently the past couple weeks which is so exciting!

@goosebee: Glad to hear all is well! Good job staying strong on TG - I have the same crossroads next Tuesday!

Hi! Had a standard appt yesterday but was able to hear the heartbeat, which was fun. I did get a blood test to check for spinal bifida. Anatomy scan on Oct 9

For those concerned about movement, it can take a while the 1st pregnancy! Last time, I wasn't really feeling anything until 17 weeks. I was feeling movement by 14 weeks this time, which was crazy! (And, like last time, my placenta is in the front.) But they haven't been as consistent as they were with DS at this point.
Somewhat related-- we had to have an unexpected amnio last wk (1st day of 18 wks) Feeling baby girl kick has been really reassuring during the week of waiting to see if complications related to the amnio come up. Now we're just waiting on results...1st round (confirming what we already knew from the cell free DNA) came through on Friday. The next set of results should come at the end of this week.

@fancyfunction: It is always fun to hear the heartbeat! I've considered getting a home doppler but I think I'd be too obsessive. My anatomy scan is tomorrow - I'm nervous/excited.
@red_seattle: I'm 18.5 and still not feeling anything. Patience is not one of my virtues. Hoping your test results come back great - the wait has to be brutal.
@mrs. kiwi: Hope your u/s goes well today - keep us posted!
@pachamama: Based on your name thread, it is safe to put you down for team blue?

Had an elective u/s today to confirm gender. Baby is still a boy. It was so nice to see him again.

@GooseBee: glad to hear you are doing well and had a good anatomy scan
@fancyfunction: you must be getting anxious for oct. 9!
@red_seattle: I can't believe you have been feeling movement since 14 weeks!! And fingers crossed that the rest of the results this friday are good!
@ladybee: what an awesome pic of your little boy!

@californiadreams: I think I felt so early because baby girl is big, and I'm fairly thin & having trouble putting on weight. I would've called it gas if it was my 1st pregnancy, but I knew what it feels like this time. But mostly, I think God knew that with all the things coming up with this pregnancy, I needed the constant reassurance that Baby Girl is, well, literally alive and kicking.

@ladybee: That is a great pic, his profile is adorable
@red_seattle: Good Luck with your results. I hope everything comes out ok!
This is my second and I haven't felt a ton of movement yet. I feel her kicking on my bladder sometimes, and some other movements that seem like they're too high to be baby. I thought I'd be better at figuring out baby movements this time!
pomegranate / 3411 posts
@kiddosc: i feel like the movements i feel are low! i can't wait for 3rd trimester to actually SEE the kicks too, those were so cool!

@kiddosc: I keep getting the kicks that feel like baby is kicking me in the butt.

@californiadreams: I like the randomly shaped belly from baby stretching and settling in weird positions.
@ladybee: Lol, I haven't gotten any of those yet.

@californiadreams: Those freak me out! I've only ever seen them on the internet and they made me want to never get pregnant.
